This document outlines a proposal for a rock music magazine targeted towards female audiences called "Grunge." The magazine will feature articles on rock and heavy metal bands and artists. For the cover, a photo of a band wearing dark, rock-style clothing will be used, along with the tagline announcing an exclusive interview. Inside pages will include a variety of photos to illustrate articles and minimize empty space, along with branding elements like the masthead.

My magazine thatI will be creatingisaRock musicmagazine.The mastheadwill be called“Grunge.”
Thisis because ithasan edgy/rockfeel toitwhensaid;it’s ambiguous,shortandcatchy.I have
chosenthisparticulargenre asI feel thatthere isa gap in the marketfor a rock magazine that
targetsits audience atfemalesspecifically.Also,producingthistype of magazine itwill take alotless
energyandtime as opposedtoanothergenre of musicsuchas a pop magazine,which wouldrequire
brightcoloursand livelymodels.Thisisanadvantage to me,as itis lesstime consumingand Ican
use featuressuchas basicpropseg: a guitar andit wouldimmediately fitintothe genre.
My profile forthe targetaudience thatIam representingwouldtypically
be a white femalegirl called Carlyaged16and Is interestedinthe genre
of rock as she listenstopoprock andheavymetal,wearsgrunge style
clothingandisinterestedinbandsandsoloartistsof thisparticularstyle
of musiceg:21 PilotsandNirvana.Thisisan ideal personwhofitsthe
descriptionof mytargetaudience.
For my frontcover,I have decidedtouse the colourredin a lightshade
for mymasthead,as itis nottoo harsh andwouldbe a slightlypink to
stereotypicallysymbolisethatitisaimedtowardsfemales. Also,the
mastheadandotherfeaturestoentice the targetaudience suchas
covermountsand buzzwordswill have a blackstroke aroundit to make itstand outand create a 3D
effect.Iam planningtoadda brightcoloursuch as blue orgreenfor these featuressothattheygrab
the reader’sattention. The mainimage will be of aband,and will includeamixture of malesand
females.The purpose of addingamale wouldbe sothatit appealstogirlsbuyingthe magazine.Also
the outfitsthatthe bandmemberswill wearwill include darkcolours,accessories,rockstyled
clothingsuchas a leatherjacket thatlinkto the genre. Also,the locationthatIhave inmindconsists
of a blackgate inthe college where the mainimage of the bandwill be taken.Lastly,Iamplanning
to make my maincoverline aboutan exclusive interview(becausedue tomyresultsintask7,
people saidthatthistype of article wouldappeal tothem.)
For my contentspage,Iam planningtouse a selectionof differentimagesand differentshottypes
to linkwiththe articles.Thisissothat the target audience have anideaof whatthe articlesconsist
of.Anotherreasonwhya selectionof pictureswouldbe agood ideaisto make it seemas though
the magazine islivelyandhasa lotof excitingcontent,andalsotoensure thatthere isminimised
deadspace.Also,Iam planningtoinclude the mastheadthatwill be presentonthe frontcover,on

The double page spreadwill include amainimage of the bandthat is on the frontcover,as theywill
anchor to eachother.I am planningtoinclude arange of differentfontsforfeaturessuchasthe
mainheadline,sub- headline,byline ect.Thisissothat the page looksvibrantandlively.
Lastlyfor my photographs,Iam hopingtotake picturesof differentpeopleandshottypestoinclude
on all three of my pages.Iplan to use props,makeup,andoutfits.The typesof imageswillbe
