6. Qualitative data
• To develop my magazine and poster from its template
form, qualitative data was needed to develop them.
I showed my templates to a group of 14 people. 7 girls and 7 boys, aged
16-19 to get their feedback.
7. The Responses for Magazine templates
• The majority favoured the little white lies template, some said it
brand a different look on the film besides the slasher aspect, and it
made it look more “artistic”. However some said they favoured
fangoria as it actually looks like a slasher trailer.
• From these findings I have chosen to side with the little white lies, but
however I will make it look more scary/creep, to reinforce the genre,
as I don’t want to go for just an “artistic” approach. But I like the idea
of showing a different side of the film. This could potentially grasp
the attention from new people to watch my film

9. The Responses for the Film Poster
• this was a little more divided, around 7/14 favoured the poster with
the girl and the other half favoured the one with the gas mask.
• Those who sided with the girl poster claimed it looked shocking, and
that it grabs your attention instantly
• Those who sided with the gas mask stated that the other poster
looked a bit too tacky and unprofessional, and that the gas mask was
more creepy
10. • I have chosen to stick with this design
as I feel it is more creepy and scary
without it being tacky. Although the
shock value on the girl poster may
turn some heads, it might not keep
their attention as I found from the
qualitative data that it looked “tacky”
• This look is more professional, even
though it’s a slasher film, I still want
the film to feel serious, which will
make it more scary.
