Similarities with the front cover:
3. • For my magazine I have chosen to use a medium close up
shot for the main image. I feel as though this suits mine more
as the model is looking away from the camera in distress. This
goes with the cover line “ don’t let work get you down.” VIBE,
however has used a medium long shot to show the attitude
that is associate with the model. Here they have him with his
chest showing and eyes glaring to show his attitude.
• I have chosen to include a promotion with my magazine where
it includes a free poster. I felt as though this was needed as my
magazine would be new and need incentives to attract
customers. Vibe is a well known magazine and therefore has
chosen not to include promotions.
• Vibe has chosen a contrasting white pink and black colour scheme to attract customers to the main selling points. I have
chosen red white and black as I feel this are strong bold colours which will resemble my magazine to be strong through the
connotations.
Differences with the front covers
4. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGIES FROM
THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
• I used the camera to acquire the pictures
which are in my magazine.
• I have used Moodle to acquire resources
needed top complete my product.
• I have used Photoshop to design my front
cover
• I used InDesign to create my contents page
and put the magazine together in one file .
5. This image I used to advertise the fasion
part of my magazine and using the “quick
selection” tool I removed the background
This was the main image I used on my
magazine front cover

6. WHAT I DID ON PHOTOSHOP TOP CREATE MY MAGAZINE COVER
7. PHOTOSHOP CONTINUED…
1. I started of by simply using a radial gradient as my background in front of this I was planning on my main image
being centred around.
2. Next I used the “quick selection” tool to edit out the background around my main image to make it more
appealing.
3. Once I had my main image to work around I used the “shape tool” to insert a paint splodge which would be the
background to my masthead.
4. Now that was there I added the actual text “fresh.” the title of my magazine. To make this stand out more though I
used the 3d tool to emphasise it.
5. Copying the aesthetics of a magazine I added a barcode and then a date accompanied by a price.
6. Using dafont I got the paint brush font used on my magazine for the cover lines. The first cover line I came up
with was the “free timetable” one which I thought was a good idea as it would promote sales of the magazine.
7. Then I added the tag lines at the top of my front cover giving readers a quick insight into what could be found in
the magazine.
8. Then I added the other coverlines.
9. To add a little more to my cover I put another little image showing some of what was inside and talked directly to
the reader in the cover line.
10. Finally I added my sell line “the most up to date magazine you can buy” to get consumers to buy it.
