Eminem
Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972), better known by his stage name Eminem,[1] is an American rapper, record producer and actor
from Detroit, Michigan. Having sold seventy million albums worldwide,[2] Eminem is one of the highest–selling musicians of the early 2000s and one
of the highest–selling rap artists of all time.[2] Eminem was discovered by rapper and producer, Dr. Dre. When Dr. Dre first heard Eminem's mixtape, he
thought Eminem was black.[3] Dr. Dre later signed Eminem to his record label, Aftermath Entertainment.
Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney has praised Mathers for his "verbal energy" and for arousing popular interest in poetry and lyrics.[4] Eminem is

Dre and Eminem would share. The two label–mates would later collaborate on a line of hit songs, including "Forgot About Dre" and "What's the
Difference" from Dr. Dre's album 2001, "Bitch Please II" from the Marshall Mathers LP, "Say What You Say" from The Eminem Show and "Encore
/Curtains Down" from Encore.
The Marshall Mathers LP was released in May 2000, and quickly sold two million copies. It was Eminem's fastest selling album to date.[16] The
first single released from the album, "The Real Slim Shady", was a success and created some buzz by insulting celebrities and making dubious
claims about them; he implies, among other things, that Christina Aguilera performed oral sex on Fred Durst (of Limp Bizkit) and Carson Daly
(of MTV's Total Request Live)[17]. In his second single, "The Way I Am", he reveals to his fans the pressures from his record company to top "My
Name Is" and sell more records. Eminem had parodied shock rocker Marilyn Manson in the video "My Name Is", the artists are now on good terms.
They have performed a remix of the song "The Way I Am" together in concert.[18] In the third single, "Stan" (which samples Dido's "Thank You"),
Eminem attempts to deal with his new–found fame, taking on the perspective of a deranged fan who kills himself and his pregnant girlfriend,
mirroring "'97 Bonnie & Clyde" on The Slim Shady LP. It was named as the third greatest rap song of all time in a list compiled by Q Magazine,[19]

50 Cent Thesis
Is 50–Cent Really Only Worth 50 cents or is that Freezer Full of Cash His?
The once loaded rapper Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, says that he is broke and filed for bankruptcy protection. He filed earlier this year
after he posted Florida resident Lastonia Leviston's sex tape online and the Manhattan Supreme Court ruled that he owed her $7 million.
As his song goes, 50 Cent is still going to "Get Rich or Die Tryin', but at the moment he says he is $28 million in the hole. He told the court that he
doesn't really own all of the items that he is seen with. "It's like music videos, they say 'action' and you see all these fancy cars, but everything goes
back to the dealership," the rapper said.
While he may be able to explain away a car by saying that it goes back to the dealer, it is harder to say that about a freezer full of Benjamins. In not the
smartest move, the rapper posted an Instagram showing a fridge and freezer filled with stacks of $100 bills along with some vodka and cheese. His
post included the prose "Gotta keep a cool little $tash and some Effen Vodka Happy Holidays. #EFFENVODKA #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO.... Show more

When asked why he would do something like that in the middle of a bankruptcy, his lawyer simply said, "I'm not sure that's 50's fridge. I don't think
he eats processed–cheese products." The rapper is seen eating cheese later in the video.
According to the Daily Mail, Leviston's lawyer, Hunter Shkolnik, responded, "Nothing surprises me with him. He hasn't been honest about his assets
from the very beginning. And now he's laughing at

Marshall Mathers
Marshall Mathers, better known as Eminem, was born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri to a single mother. He spent the majority of his
youth living in various states before eventually settling down in the harsh streets of Detroit at the age of 12. At age nine, Em was first introduced to
rap by his Uncle Ronni who played the Breakin' soundtrack for him and immediately Em loved it. He began obsessively studying and lip–synching LL
Cool J's and Ice T's skilled and complex rhyme schemes and styles. At a young age Em found his niche now all he had to do was discover his voice.
After failing 9th grade three times for lack of involvement, Em eventually just dropped out of school all together and started to ... Show more content on

Although he finished second, his freestyles impressed many including Paul Rosenberg who later became his manager and Interscope label president
Jimmy Iovine. Later that year he won the Wake Up Show's Freestyle Performer of the Year and was featured in Source's Unsigned Hype column. After
these honors, Rosenberg and Iovine were convinced that Em would be the future of rap. All they now needed was confirmation, so they took Em's
material to the legendary producer/rapper Dr. Dre.
Immediately, Dr. Dre loved Em's creative rhymes and lyrics. After Dre got over the initial shock of that Em was white, they worked out a deal and
Em joined Aftermath, Dre's record company. With Dre by his side there was no looking back. They immediately hit it off and his firstalbum on
Aftermath, The Slim Shady LP, hit stores in early 1999. With the multi–platinum single, "My Name Is", The Slim Shady LP went triple platinum. This
was the beginning of a new era in rap, a rap revolution started by the high school dropout, Eminem.
A lab rat, Em went right back to work on his next album. His hunger for success was now at an all–time high. The Marshall Mathers LP blew up from
day one and debuted number 1 on the Billboard Charts selling close to two million copies in its first week. This established him as the most successful
rapper in terms of album sales since 2pac and The

The Degradation of Hiphop Essay
When did music stop being an art and become a business? Hiphop used to be about keeping kids off the streets, used to channel their energy into
positive pastimes to keep them from becoming involved with gangs. It promoted positive and peaceful messages through intelligently written rhymes.
It used to be cool to use a dictionary to write rhymes and rap about science and political issues. But now that gangster rap has become mainstream, kids
don't want to hear anything that doesn't mention pimpin', hoein', drinkin' forties, or smokin' blunts. The media has fused Hiphop and gangster rap, but
what many people are unaware of is that there is another side to Hiphop – typically called underground Hiphop. The underground is where Hiphop ...

People would get together – typically at block parties or park jams – and show their skills as a positive pastime. Hiphop was created to stop gang
violence, not to promote it like the typical gangster rapper does today. This is one of the many things that people are unaware of when they are solely
exposed to mainstream commercialized gangster rap. "Hiphop music isn't experimental anymore," Says Shortkut of The Invisibl Skratch Piklz, "It's
violent and materialistic. All the so–called rap videos on MTV are about holding cash in your hand, wearing Versace, and looking like a so–called
playa. I never knew that as Hiphop. To me, Hiphop was partying and showing your skills, not calling somebody out and shooting them" ("Evolution").
The founder of Hiphop, Afrika Bambaataa, was himself a Black Spade Gangster, but he sparked the Hiphop revolution for the good of the community.
When there were Hiphop park jams, there were thugs and gangsters present, but it was all about having fun and being positive.
So why does the gangster version of Hiphop sell? Because America is in love with sex, drugs, and violence. Instead of creating a positive message
that talks about doing something productive, the media sells a fantasy. Too often, intelligent rappers are labeled "soft," and anything that is not
gangster is labeled as being "not real." But the gangster image is the fantasy! In an interview with DJ Lord Ron,

Stereotypes Of Rap Music
The course topics this session were all very interesting. The one that seemed to resonate with me the most was the section about Rap Music. The way
that the material was presented and how Rap Music as a whole was dissected was really intriguing. One point that really stuck with me was the "Our
Buddy" discussion. It really opened my eyes to how the rap/hip–hop industry markets the music to us. This paper will show that the stereotype of "Our
Buddy"in rap music is very real and how the material has turned from an art form into and marketing ploy. I intend to support my argument with
examples and analysis by explaining how the stereotype can become accepted as a social norm. Music is not just music, or just a source of
entertainment; rather... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The violence described by rap lyrics is the exception, and not the rule when it comes to the real life urban neighborhoods that rap songs often depict.
This is further evidence that "Our Buddy"is a stereotype in rap lyrics. This stereotype, that violent rap lyrics promote, can influence some people,
white and black alike, to accept violence and to behave in a violent manner. Still, some will argue that people will not allow the violent stereotypes in
rap lyrics to influence them and that they know the difference between fantasy and reality. I think that rap fans find great pleasure in believing the
authenticity of their favorite rapper which adds on to the issue at

The Impact of the Violent African-American Stereotype in...
This paper will show that the stereotype of the violent, criminal African–American portrayed in rap music lyrics can become a self–fulfilling prophecy
for African–Americans. Repeated and long–term exposure to this stereotypical behavior in rap music lyrics can lead to increased aggression and this
stereotype becoming accepted as a social norm by African–Americans. I intend to support my argument with examples and analysis of the violent
African–American stereotype, and by explaining how the stereotype can become accepted as a social norm.
The violence that permeates rap lyrics should come as no surprise because music is only one of the numerous forms of media, and violence in the
media is often described as being too ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to researchers Christenson and Roberts, "American adolescents spend...between four and five hours a day listening to music...[which is] at
least as much time as they spend watching standard television fare and more than they spend with their friends outside of school" (8). Music media
influences the lives of adolescents in a number of ways. It "...alters and intensifies their moods, furnishes much of their slang [and] provides models
for how they act..." (Christenson and Roberts 8). Music plays an important role in the lives of adolescents. They spend as much time, if not more,
listening to music as they spend watching television, and therefore, music deserves additional scholarly attention. Music is not just music, or just a
source of entertainment; rather music is "a major force and presence in contemporary American adolescence" (Christenson and Roberts 11). Besides
the belief that music is just music, another popular belief is that, "Nobody pays attention to lyrics" (Christenson and Roberts 7). This assumption is not
completely true or false. Lyrics are often learned accidentally during the listening experience, but almost every adolescent has a favorite song that he or
she can recite word for word. Therefore, whether the learning of the lyrics is intentional or not, adolescents do learn

The Business Case For The Public Cloud
Enterprises around the world would be wise to heed 50 Cent's mantra "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" when considering the implications of not "getting" to
the public cloud. We at Cocolevio, an implementation partner of Mooor Insights & Strategy, estimate that over 50% of IT spend will be going to
public cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Servicesor SaaS vendors like Salesforce.com Inc. by 2019. This means there is around a $140B
opportunity in this space. The cost savings, reduction in capital spending, speed to market, flexibility and global access derived from public cloud
mean those enterprises that effectively use the public cloud are better positioned to "Get Rich" than their competitors who have higher cost structures
and less nimble IT platforms. This trend is only set to continue as the business case for moving to public cloud only becomes more compelling, with the
traditional arguments against public cloud around security and lack of control diminishing. Vendor lock–in will continue to be a concern but we see
many companies willing to sacrifice a bit of lock–in for the many, many benefits of public cloud.
With this in mind, it is prudent for any CIO to have a migration strategy to the public cloud. It is now generally accepted that at least some workload
and functions of an organization will need to be moved in order to be competitive. Recently, the poster child for Amazon Inc., Netflix Inc. announced
that they closed their door on their last datacenter. Although by no

"Negro writers must accept the nationalist implications of their lives, not in order to encourage them, but in order to change and transcend them. They
must accept the concept of nationalism because, in order to transcend it, they must posses and understand it."
–– Richard Wright
In 1996, famed rapper and entertainer Tupac Shakur[1] was gunned down in Las Vegas. Journalistic sentiment at the time suggested he deserved the
brutal death. The New York Times headline, "Rap Performer Who Personified Violence, Dies," suggested Shakur, who was twenty five when he died,
deserved his untimely death. – (Pareles, 1996) A product of a fatherless home, raised poor in the ghettos of San Francisco, Shakur, notes Ernest Harding

A victim of the same impoverished environment as Shakur, Bigger personifies violence in the form of the real murders of Mary Dalton and Bessie,
unlike Shakur who only talks and sings of murder. In Native Son, Wright, for better or for worse, presents his readers with an entity in Bigger Thomas
who achieves self realization only after murder, and this characterization suggests violence presents a kind of road which winds down into self
consciousness and self awareness, a road many African Americans, most notably gangster rappers, cannot help but continue to travel on today.
While one can argue that violence in African American пїЅcultureпїЅ owes its origins to the days of slavery, I would contend that violence and the
reaction to fear(s) is what constitutes

Message of Hope in Rap
The three–year anniversary of Notorious B.I.G's murder is fast approaching and many people still rave about his music. What made him so special
was the connection he had with his listeners. He found many ways to incorporate his life stories into his music that relates to every other "thug"
growing up in the streets from New York City to Los Angeles. The perfect example of this is his double CD, "Life after Death" where most of his
songs are about death and how people deal with it. Its quite ironic how he sort of predicted his own death in the album but by doing so, it helped his
fans and family deal with his death better. To understand his songs, you have to understand the life he grew up in. Raised in... Show more content on

Just keep on pressing on

This chorus gives hope to the other struggling people to have faith and not to give up on life because anything you want, you can have. It just takes
the effort to be proud. This is what Notorious was special at doing. He could deliver the message better then any other person out there, because he is
a prime example to all the people that they do have a future. Although he does talk about being rich and leading a good life now that he has the
money, he also realized the problems of having money. In his song, "Mo Money Mo Problems" he talks about how money brings the downs as well as
the ups. In the intro of the song, Puff Daddy says how money makes you the perfect target of everyone who is envious and jealous of what you have
gained and that if you're not careful of what you do, you can end up "D.O.A". And most people believe this is what caused Biggie's death. Biggie in

Recorded music and music publishing were the two main revenue drivers for the music industry. EMI divided its organization into two corresponding
divisions. EMI Music, the recorded–music side, sought out artists it believed would be long–term commercial recording successes. Each EMI record
label marketed its artist's recordings to the public and sold the releases through a variety of retail outlets. EMI's extensive music catalog consisted of
more than
3 million songs. Recorded–music division sales came from both new and old recordings with existing catalog albums constituting 30% to 35% of the
division's unit sales. Exhibit 3 contains a list of EMI's most successful recording artists in FY2007.
EMI Music Publishing focused not on recordings but on the songs themselves. Generally, there were three categories of publishing–rights ownership in
the music industry: the lyric's author, the music's composer, and the publisher who acquired the right to exploit the song. These publishing–rights
owners were entitled to royalties whenever and however their music was used.

A Review of the Book Calabash Parkway
At first glance, Dr. Brenda DoHarris' Calabash Parkway appears to be a novel about a Guyanese woman meeting an old friend from her native land,
in New York, after several years. Upon further reading, the novel has resilient records of feminism in the protagonists Agatha, Evadne, and Gwennie.
The three are emasculated by poverty, neglect, and abuse. Living in a masculinized country the three women refuse to succumb to their struggles of
life. These powerless characteristics of the three young women are overcome after immigrating to New York and Canada. The first reflection of
feminism is 'Gatha's life of poverty. "The shadow of political tyranny and economic malaise loomed over the country" (DoHarris 6)1.Those living in

She is well aware of whom her father is, but his not willing to acknowledge of her as his daughter plagues her; "remembering the vilest human feeling
of all – to be a child virtually devoid of adult love and protection" (31). She meets Compton, a Guyanese man returning to pick up his residence
papers from the US Embassy, and quickly falls in love, marries him, and moves to New York where he currently resides. Dr. DoHarris expounds
that: "Not only had Evadne been able to snag a bridegroom, but she secured one who would be able to wisk her off de mudflat, thousands of miles
away from the stich–by–miserable–stich existence to which she had thought she was irrevocably wed" (39). "Nor are Evadne's struggles in New York
any less compelling than 'Gatha's. Indeed, in some ways, they may be more so; for Evadne's relationship with Compton becomes complicated when his
former lover Jennifer gives birth to his daughter, Joy; and when Evadne and Compton buy a house from Jennifer's sister the complications erupt with
Jennifer shooting and killing Compton" (DoHarris qtd in Birbalsingh p.131). Gwennie, like Evadne, struggles with overcoming a past of being sexually
abused, not by a stranger or distant relative, but by her father. Once leaving Guyana she never returned, not even when hearing of the death of her
mother. Explaining to the narrator, "For many years, most often when he came home drunk, my father molested me. Oh...my

Learning How to Fear in Popular Media Essay
Popular media is known for reproducing gender ideologies via lyrics and music video productions. 'P.I.M.P (Remix)' reproduces patriarchal gender
ideologies both lyrically and visually. However, the production has incorporated a 'pimping is fun and prestigious' theme that trivializes crime, and
does not elicit a fear of crime. This paper will primarily focus on Randol Contreras' article "Damn, Yo–Who's that Girl?" to elaborate on the male
dominant gender ideology expressed in this prompt. The music video begins with 50 Cent in the company of women in lingerie. In addition to the

ideologies. The following scene takes place at the 'Headquarters Pimp Legion of Doom,' where there is a room full of pimp, with Snoop Dogg
being "the chosen one, Big Jeffery." This situation involves some sort of a trial that 50 Cent must pass to be a member of the 'pimp legion of

Cent has proven that he does not have to fit in to be a successful pimp and this is a way of commanding respect from the 'pimp legion of doom.'
Furthermore, 50 Cent's uniqueness is his representation of masculinity has gotten him respect and protection. Opposing perspectives may find this

For once this year, 50 Cent is making headlines for his music. With all the drama revolving around Power, the lawsuit filed against him by Rick

Instead, he's returned to his essence, alternating between menacing and playful, and seems to bask in the process. Fiddy seems less concern with
reliving those unprecedented pop moments that propelled Get Rich Or Die Tryin' or The Massacre up the charts. This is the unfiltered Queens native
digging deeper than he has before. For the first time in his career, 50 has balanced his New York roots with contemporary Southern Hip Hop trends
without sounding uneven.
Nowhere is this more apparent than on "Body Bags," a hauntingly soulful track courtesy of The Alchemist over which 50 spews venom and
braggadocio with equal fervor. "I peep my swag in the mirror, I think I got a crush on me / I don't want no wack bitches touchin' me," he rhymes,
while elsewhere on the song he spits "I'm a nightmare right here, just me and my knife, nigga / Don't let me find out you ain't 'bout that life,

Music And Body Music
Music is everywhere in our daily lives and culture, whether it comes from instruments or your body music has a significant effect on your daily
habits, mood and how you act way. Anyone can sing or play a drum, however only a small portion of artist can trigger certain gestures or movements
within your body by using special chords or rhymes. One album that does this is 'Vol. 2 ... Hard Knock Life' byJay–Z, by continuously listening to the
album and the fourteen songs I concluded that the amount of profanity used in each song is sky rocketing high, in the song "If I should die" in the first
twenty second I counted six profanities used. The amount of horrible language used at times can easily distract the real message trying to be conveyed
and more importantly in my case drift the listener in counting the amount of vulgarity used instead of enjoying the music. However, to counter this
problem Jay–Z's songs have a unique rhyme for each song, weather it be a relaxing continuous beat to a hardcore rap beat Jay–Z and the various
singers seem to adapt their voices and pitches to match the fluctuating chores. At times, the signer's voices dimmer down to allow the beat play louder
to signify an change and understanding of the message. When you first start to analyse and ease into each individual track a common
misunderstanding you gain is that each track sounds familiar and repetitive. However, this is not the case if you analyse the songs very carefully the
beats build on from other

Grapes of Wrath
Krystal Giffen The Grapes of Wrath Part 1: Literary Analysis 1. A. "...'What's this call, this sperit?' An' I says, 'It's love..." (page 23, Chapter 4).
This quote is an example of an metaphor. The use of this metaphor was to show the reader why the preacher doesn't preach anymore. The effect the
metaphor had on the reader was, for them to see how the preacher really viewed 'the sperit'. B. "One cat' takes and shoves ten families out. Cat's all
over hell now..." (pg. 8, Chapter 2). This quote is an example of symbolism. The truck driver uses the animal cat to describe the people who tractor
out croppers from their crops and homes. The effect of using a cat to describe someone was negative. The cat description made the reader view the...

He loosened the gun in the holster. 'Go ahead,' said Ma. 'Scarin women/ I'm thankful the men folks ain't here. They'd tear ya to pieces. In my

you goddamn Okies settlin' down.' ... 'Yeah, Okies! An' if you're here when I come tomorra, I'll run ya in" (pg. 215, Chapter 18). The significance
of this passage is it shows how life changed so much once the Joads moved west, they were in someone else's territory now. This passage shows
how the Joads would have to change the way they acted since they moved to California. This passage relates to the work as a whole because it
shows the reader how difficult and cruel it was to move to the West back during the dust bowl. People weren't treated equally because of were they
came from and how poor they were. C. "They had no more the stomach–tearing lust for the rich acre and a shining blade to plow it, for seed and a
windmill beating its wings in the air. They arose in the dark no more to hear the sleepy birds' first chittering, and the morning wind dear acres. These
things were lost, nd crops were rechoned in dollars, and land was valued by principal plus interest, and crops were bought and sold before they were

50 Cent
50 Cent (born Curtis James Jackson on July 6, 1975[1] in Queens, New York) is a popular African–American rapper, also known as Fitty or Fifty, who
rose to fame following the success of his 2003 debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'.
Biography
Once almost unknown outside his hometown of Southside Jamaica, Queens, 50 Cent is currently one of the most well–known and commercially
successful rappers of the decade. Because the success of an artist in gangsta rap often depends on street credibility and reputation, Interscope Records
has sold 50 Cent as the "real deal". His mother was murdered in a drug deal. He has been shot, stabbed, and he built a large rap empire in New York
City before ever signing a major record deal.

In 2003, G–Unit Records officially came into being. 50 Cent appointed his manager Sha Money XL as the president. In 2003, the label signed on
Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck as the established members of G
–Unit. In 2004, The Game, R & B singer Olivia, and DJ Whoo Kid were
signed to the label. Recently Spider Loc, Mobb Deep, Mase, and M.O.P. joined G–Unit Records. 50 Cent is also scouting gangsta crooner Kokane,
Jayo Felony and Lil' Scrappy to join the label.

Other Endorsements 50 Cent on The SimpsonsAfter the release of Beg For Mercy from his group G–Unit, he teamed up with Reebok to release his
own G–Unit Sneakers. He also invested in bottled water and his own clothing line. 50 Cent appeared on an episode of The Simpsons entitled,
"Pranksta Rap" in February 2005.
A video game starring 50 Cent, called "50 Cent: Bulletproof," will be available on the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox, and there is another version in
production for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). The game stars 50 Cent as he fights his way through the criminal underworld to hunt down the men who
shot him and take his revenge.

Film career
50 Cent stars in the semi–autobiographical 2005 film "Get Rich or Die Tryin'," helmed by " My Left Foot" director Jim Sheridan and co–starring Joy
Bryant and Terrence Howard.

Hip-Hop and Hyper-Commercialism
Hip–Hop and Hyper–commercialism Simple beat, simple rhyme scheme, strong message. "Vans don't cost G's, real niggaz wear these В– Vans," says a
member of The Pack in the music video aptly titled "Vans." You may be asking yourself, "So, what's the big deal?" The big, highly lucrative deal is
the marriage between big name corporations and their partnership with hip–hop. It's nothing new: Run–DMC had "My adiddas", LL Cool J wore
Kangol hats, and even Jay–Z incorporated drinking Cristal into his lyrics for a long period of time. With that being said, the new hip–hop generation of
today faces many adversities from years and years of subliminal marketing within their own sub–culture. The effects of hyper–commercialism are
evident in American... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This same idea can be applied to the rap artists who get paid by the sponsors that endorse them. These artists are making millions off these
companies who are mainly there to use the artist's image as a way to connect their product with his or her fan base. The sad thing is, when an artist
talks about Glocks or Smith and Wessons like he is endorsing the product, confused kids buy into it. When I got a little bit older, a littler bit smarter,
and a little bit wiser, I started to question myself and my identity, as well as Hip–Hop and the identity portrayed within the mainstream media. It
seemed as though everything had to have a hardcore exterior. To be understanding, sensitive, or romantic seemed to be weak, while credibility was
earned by talking about guns, drugs, pimping women, and dirty money. In an article regarding two underground DVDs called Straight Outta Hunters
Point and Hood 2 Hood, Darren Keast put this idea best, "The storytellers are driven by the same motivation В– proving that their block is the hardest,
and that they are the hardest on the block." This is precisely what is portrayed in most mainstream rap В– a market flood of bragging and boasting
about doing illegal or despicable activities. Yet, I see today's youth confused. You are not respected if you are not outfitted in the latest

Synopsis Of The Film 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin'
From Rags To Riches One of the upmost best gangster movies of its time has to be Scarface, it's the type of movie to keep you glued to your seat
from start to finish. Although an older movie, people as young as their 20's still seem to know about it and have watched this movie at some point
in their lives. For it is the type of movie that will have you wondering what is going to happen next, from scene to scene. Like every good gangster
movie, it has the usual fundamentals loyalty, cartel business, and betrayal. A good comparison would be the movie by 50 cent "Get Rich or Die
Tryin'" in the sense that it's the same serious of events. Coming from nothing and getting to the top by doing everything possible, and not letting the
bad things get in the way of reaching the ultimate goal. Some opposing sides may say that the movie is a little over the top with how the... Show more

Eminem

  • 1. Eminem Marshall Bruce Mathers III (born October 17, 1972), better known by his stage name Eminem,[1] is an American rapper, record producer and actor from Detroit, Michigan. Having sold seventy million albums worldwide,[2] Eminem is one of the highest–selling musicians of the early 2000s and one of the highest–selling rap artists of all time.[2] Eminem was discovered by rapper and producer, Dr. Dre. When Dr. Dre first heard Eminem's mixtape, he thought Eminem was black.[3] Dr. Dre later signed Eminem to his record label, Aftermath Entertainment. Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney has praised Mathers for his "verbal energy" and for arousing popular interest in poetry and lyrics.[4] Eminem is infamous for the controversy surrounding many of his ... The Marshall Mathers LP was released in May 2000, and quickly sold two million copies. It was Eminem's fastest selling album to date.[16] The first single released from the album, "The Real Slim Shady", was a success and created some buzz by insulting celebrities and making dubious claims about them; he implies, among other things, that Christina Aguilera performed oral sex on Fred Durst (of Limp Bizkit) and Carson Daly (of MTV's Total Request Live)[17]. In his second single, "The Way I Am", he reveals to his fans the pressures from his record company to top "My Name Is" and sell more records. Eminem had parodied shock rocker Marilyn Manson in the video "My Name Is", the artists are now on good terms. They have performed a remix of the song "The Way I Am" together in concert.[18] In the third single, "Stan" (which samples Dido's "Thank You"), Eminem attempts to deal with his new–found fame, taking on the perspective of a deranged fan who kills himself and his pregnant girlfriend, mirroring "'97 Bonnie & Clyde" on The Slim Shady LP. • 2. 50 Cent Thesis Is 50–Cent Really Only Worth 50 cents or is that Freezer Full of Cash His? The once loaded rapper Curtis Jackson, better known as 50 Cent, says that he is broke and filed for bankruptcy protection. He filed earlier this year after he posted Florida resident Lastonia Leviston's sex tape online and the Manhattan Supreme Court ruled that he owed her $7 million. As his song goes, 50 Cent is still going to "Get Rich or Die Tryin', but at the moment he says he is $28 million in the hole. He told the court that he doesn't really own all of the items that he is seen with. "It's like music videos, they say 'action' and you see all these fancy cars, but everything goes back to the dealership," the rapper said. While he may be able to explain away a car by saying that it goes back to the dealer, it is harder to say that about a freezer full of Benjamins. In not the smartest move, the rapper posted an Instagram showing a fridge and freezer filled with stacks of $100 bills along with some vodka and cheese. He spent the majority of his youth living in various states before eventually settling down in the harsh streets of Detroit at the age of 12. At age nine, Em was first introduced to rap by his Uncle Ronni who played the Breakin' soundtrack for him and immediately Em loved it. He began obsessively studying and lip–synching LL Cool J's and Ice T's skilled and complex rhyme schemes and styles. At a young age Em found his niche now all he had to do was discover his voice. Immediately, Dr. Dre loved Em's creative rhymes and lyrics. After Dre got over the initial shock of that Em was white, they worked out a deal and Em joined Aftermath, Dre's record company. With Dre by his side there was no looking back. They immediately hit it off and his firstalbum on Aftermath, The Slim Shady LP, hit stores in early 1999. With the multi–platinum single, "My Name Is", The Slim Shady LP went triple platinum. This was the beginning of a new era in rap, a rap revolution started by the high school dropout, Eminem. • 4. The Degradation of Hiphop Essay When did music stop being an art and become a business? Hiphop used to be about keeping kids off the streets, used to channel their energy into positive pastimes to keep them from becoming involved with gangs. It promoted positive and peaceful messages through intelligently written rhymes. It used to be cool to use a dictionary to write rhymes and rap about science and political issues. But now that gangster rap has become mainstream, kids don't want to hear anything that doesn't mention pimpin', hoein', drinkin' forties, or smokin' blunts. The media has fused Hiphop and gangster rap, but what many people are unaware of is that there is another side to Hiphop – typically called underground Hiphop. The underground is where Hiphop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People would get together – typically at block parties or park jams – and show their skills as a positive pastime. Hiphop was created to stop gang violence, not to promote it like the typical gangster rapper does today. This is one of the many things that people are unaware of when they are solely exposed to mainstream commercialized gangster rap. "Hiphop music isn't experimental anymore," Says Shortkut of The Invisibl Skratch Piklz, "It's violent and materialistic. All the so–called rap videos on MTV are about holding cash in your hand, wearing Versace, and looking like a so–called playa. Instead of creating a positive message that talks about doing something productive, the media sells a fantasy. Too often, intelligent rappers are labeled "soft," and anything that is not gangster is labeled as being "not real." But the gangster image is the fantasy! In an interview with DJ Lord Ron, ... The Business Case For The Public Cloud Enterprises around the world would be wise to heed 50 Cent's mantra "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" when considering the implications of not "getting" to the public cloud. We at Cocolevio, an implementation partner of Mooor Insights & Strategy, estimate that over 50% of IT spend will be going to public cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Servicesor SaaS vendors like Salesforce.com Inc. by 2019. This means there is around a $140B opportunity in this space. The cost savings, reduction in capital spending, speed to market, flexibility and global access derived from public cloud mean those enterprises that effectively use the public cloud are better positioned to "Get Rich" than their competitors who have higher cost structures and less nimble IT platforms. This trend is only set to continue as the business case for moving to public cloud only becomes more compelling, with the traditional arguments against public cloud around security and lack of control diminishing. Vendor lock–in will continue to be a concern but we see many companies willing to sacrifice a bit of lock–in for the many, many benefits of public cloud. With this in mind, it is prudent for any CIO to have a migration strategy to the public cloud. Music And Body Music Music is everywhere in our daily lives and culture, whether it comes from instruments or your body music has a significant effect on your daily habits, mood and how you act way. Anyone can sing or play a drum, however only a small portion of artist can trigger certain gestures or movements within your body by using special chords or rhymes. One album that does this is 'Vol. 2 ... Hard Knock Life' byJay–Z, by continuously listening to the album and the fourteen songs I concluded that the amount of profanity used in each song is sky rocketing high, in the song "If I should die" in the first twenty second I counted six profanities used. The amount of horrible language used at times can easily distract the real message trying to be conveyed and more importantly in my case drift the listener in counting the amount of vulgarity used instead of enjoying the music. However, to counter this problem Jay–Z's songs have a unique rhyme for each song, weather it be a relaxing continuous beat to a hardcore rap beat Jay–Z and the various singers seem to adapt their voices and pitches to match the fluctuating chores. At times, the signer's voices dimmer down to allow the beat play louder to signify an change and understanding of the message. When you first start to analyse and ease into each individual track a common misunderstanding you gain is that each track sounds familiar and repetitive. However, this is not the case if you analyse the songs very carefully the beats build on from other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The effect the metaphor had on the reader was, for them to see how the preacher really viewed 'the sperit'. B. "One cat' takes and shoves ten families out. Cat's all over hell now..." (pg. 8, Chapter 2). This quote is an example of symbolism. The truck driver uses the animal cat to describe the people who tractor out croppers from their crops and homes. An' if you're here when I come tomorra, I'll run ya in" (pg. 215, Chapter 18). The significance of this passage is it shows how life changed so much once the Joads moved west, they were in someone else's territory now. This passage shows how the Joads would have to change the way they acted since they moved to California. This passage relates to the work as a whole because it shows the reader how difficult and cruel it was to move to the West back during the dust bowl. People weren't treated equally because of were they came from and how poor they were. C. "They had no more the stomach–tearing lust for the rich acre and a shining blade to plow it, for seed and a windmill beating its wings in the air. They arose in the dark no more to hear the sleepy birds' first chittering, and the morning wind dear acres. These things were lost, nd crops were rechoned in dollars, and land was valued by principal plus interest, and crops were bought and sold before they were planted. • 25. Hip-Hop and Hyper-Commercialism Hip–Hop and Hyper–commercialism Simple beat, simple rhyme scheme, strong message. "Vans don't cost G's, real niggaz wear these В– Vans," says a member of The Pack in the music video aptly titled "Vans." You may be asking yourself, "So, what's the big deal?" The big, highly lucrative deal is the marriage between big name corporations and their partnership with hip–hop. It's nothing new: Run–DMC had "My adiddas", LL Cool J wore Kangol hats, and even Jay–Z incorporated drinking Cristal into his lyrics for a long period of time. With that being said, the new hip–hop generation of today faces many adversities from years and years of subliminal marketing within their own sub–culture. The effects of hyper–commercialism are evident in American... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This same idea can be applied to the rap artists who get paid by the sponsors that endorse them. The sad thing is, when an artist talks about Glocks or Smith and Wessons like he is endorsing the product, confused kids buy into it. When I got a little bit older, a littler bit smarter, and a little bit wiser, I started to question myself and my identity, as well as Hip–Hop and the identity portrayed within the mainstream media. It seemed as though everything had to have a hardcore exterior. To be understanding, sensitive, or romantic seemed to be weak, while credibility was earned by talking about guns, drugs, pimping women, and dirty money. In an article regarding two underground DVDs called Straight Outta Hunters Point and Hood 2 Hood, Darren Keast put this idea best, "The storytellers are driven by the same motivation В– proving that their block is the hardest, and that they are the hardest on the block." This is precisely what is portrayed in most mainstream rap В– a market flood of bragging and boasting about doing illegal or despicable activities. Yet, I see today's youth confused. • 26. Synopsis Of The Film 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' From Rags To Riches One of the upmost best gangster movies of its time has to be Scarface, it's the type of movie to keep you glued to your seat from start to finish. Although an older movie, people as young as their 20's still seem to know about it and have watched this movie at some point in their lives. For it is the type of movie that will have you wondering what is going to happen next, from scene to scene. Like every good gangster movie, it has the usual fundamentals loyalty, cartel business, and betrayal. A good comparison would be the movie by 50 cent "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" in the sense that it's the same serious of events. Coming from nothing and getting to the top by doing everything possible, and not letting the bad things get in the way of reaching the ultimate goal.
