2. What does a production
company do?
• A production company has an important role in the
organisations and distributions of a film it helps to
create a final product. The production company
deals with the scheduling, budgeting, scripting and
casting. They are also responsible for the actors
and finding a director.
3. The idea of a distributor and
who that might be and why.
• The main job for a distributor is to send the final
product out to the audience. They are responsible
for advertising the product to the public.
• To distribute our film we need a company who
distributes horror film, so we decided to chose
'New Line Cinema'. We have chosen this
company as it was very successful also because
they have distributed many horror films such as;
Final Destination, The conjuring etc.
4. Promotion and Money
• Before we started to make the film we had a
budget to make sure that we don’t go over the
limit.
• We will start off by showing our film idea to a
successful film company and if they like it we will
then work with them to promote our film. Another
method to promote our film is to use social media,
by doing this it would attract many young people
within our target audience. We could also use
other methods to promote our film such as;
posters, billboards, newspaper, radio etc.
5. Opening credits for our film
• Normally the Credits are shown at the beginning
or the end of a film. For our opening sequence we
decided to use it at the start, however the title was
shown at the end of the sequence.
• The credits were; director, cinematography by,
editor, produced by, sound by, etc. Each title was
written in the same in the same font and the same
colour which was white, we chose to do this as we
thought this would stand out.
