3. My aim by the end of the
production/project
• To achieve a professional/realistic looking
magazine
• Understand readers expectations, their
interests in reading magazines, how much of
their time they spend on
• To complete a task that is ready and
completed on time
• To be able to learn and use creative writing
(different type of writing the language)
4. Research and Findings (pre – production)
VOGUE House
I have called the VOGUE house, I was
able to receive professional
information and advices from trained
workers.
(VOGUE House is a building in
Hanover Square, London and
publishes magazines such as VOGUE,
GQ, Vanity Fair and Cosmopolitan).
Post-production (printing
companies)
Researched different types of binding.
Called some printing companies to
understand how they will be printed,
and type of papers that are available.
Survey Monkey
Made an open online questionnaire via
SurveyMonkey.com and I was able to
find out people’s interest in magazines,
how they are enjoyable and the
readers expectations in fashion
magazines.
Buying magazines
Travelled to Westfields and bought
some magazines to research the
statistics of the amount of magazines,
articles and columns a professional
magazine usually incudes.
6. Buying Magazines
• In depth features
• Usually uses 5 pages per feature
• Serious
• Snappy
• Bold heading
7. Project Strengths
• The articles and the columns
made are all easy to access,
quick, current and contemporary
• Identified a gap in the market –
combination of different types of
magazines in to 1
• It has a strong brand identity
• Tips which are easily doable and
simple to follow
• Convenient to read when you
need a quick break from reality
8. Project Weakness
• Small font compared to
other magazines
• Very exclusive
advertisements
• No in-depth features
• Specific target audience
• Had to reduce page
numbers
9. What I have learnt from this
experience
• The amount of time and effort it takes to
create one magazine
• The amount of organisation it consists
• It is something I am sure of doing for the
future (hobby)
