Dracula Expository Essay
Expository Essay
Mary Arnold
For centuries, vampires have been depicted in various cultures and throughout literary history as
both bloodsuckers and vampire lovers. A good example is they've been portrayed as both monsters,
comedic villains, and romantic figures. The film industry has represented many incarnations of
vampires on the big screen for decades. Let's begin with the first vampire film, Nosferatu (monster),
up to the latest vampire film, Twilight (lover).
Along came, Nosferatu, an unofficial adaption of Bram Stoker's Dracula, and the first ever vampire
film released. Because the German studio, in charge of the film, could not obtain rights to the novel
from Stoker's widow, Florence Stoker, many elements of the respected novel were altered to avoid
plagiarism, including names and omitting characters. Dracula, for instance, became "Count Orlok",
and unlike Stoker's vampire, the creature in Nosferatu is horrendously repellant: its bald head
instantly evoking a skull; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1993, Interview with the Vampire was brought to life on the big screen. The movie is about the
life (and unlife) of Louie, played by Brad Pitt, who is a Louisiana plantation owner of colonial
times, who is initiated into vampirism by a French vampire, Lestat, played by Tom Cruise. They
form an intense, codependent partnership in New Orleans, completing their family with a
tempestuous vampire child, Claudia, played by Kirsten Dunst, whom Lestat has converted. The
vampires depicted in the film have both monster–like, humorous and romantic qualities; all of which
are not usually depicted at the same time in a vampire film. Interview with the Vampire marked the
beginning of a romantic vampire renaissance in fiction, theater and film that continues to the present
day. Now, let's take a look at another vampire film that supplies comedy like no other

Dictation by a student to a classmate or group is suggested for pronunciation practice as well ( Davis
and Rinvolucri cited in Gibson 2008: 32). Foss and Reitzel (1988) suggest that reading aloud is a
way of cutting down communication anxiety, however it is seen as anxiety–provoking by some
students (cited in Gibson, 2008: 32).Willis(2008: 59) uses choral reading in order to reduce students'
stress of reading alone. The process of reading aloud together strenghten patterns.(Willis ibid.)
Reading aloud activities can be the only speaking opportunity that timid students have, so reading
aloud aid timid and unconfident students with speaking exercise for a limited time until they feel
themselves capable of speaking spontaneously (Gibson, 2008: 32). Reading aloud has an indirect
mission in writing, however it is connected to writing with intonation. Chafe (1986, cited by Tench
1996) advocates that while wirting has no intonation, stress or pauses, both readers and writers tend
to assign these elements to whatever they are reading and writing, in this way intonation might
affect what is written, whether it is informal or formal formulaic letter (Gibson, 2008, 32). Earl
Stevick (1989) interviewed seven particularly successful language learners and found that most of
them, involving himself, used reading aloud as a learning technique outside the classroom. One

Digital Music Industry
I. Introduction Many people are still perplexed how 'you are my love' (a very popular song on the
internet in China) has become popular, which is also considered cheesy from the view point of some
mainstream recording industries and organizations. According to Zhang, CEO of the Idol
Entertainment Ltd, 'this represents neither a retrogression of society, nor a down step in terms of
culture. It is normally a reflection of the current music market, which is to satisfy the consumers'
demands fundamentally.' In fact, music online is currently receiving both profit and widespread
acclaim, drawing lines with recording industry and traditional music profit modal (Zhang, 2006).

Finally, the recording companies will distribute their record (Nirkind, 2003). However, the Internet
has been a shortcut for recording songs and for recording companies, in other word, just as
important as playing songs in a ranking list in radio stations. C. From monopoly to public The
increasing popularity of web songs has helped to improve the music business. In contrast, the
previous mode has been laggard because of the monopolization by a few major elite music
companies (Zhang, 2006). Every music fan is currently fascinated with the dissemination of musical

to be the delegate of a music revolution in music production (Kennedy, 2006). In the past, producing
a song needs to be helped by other musicians and musical instruments costing at least 10,000 Yuan

Eswine Homiletical Ideals
Preaching to a Post–everything World offers several contributions to the art of preaching. New ideas
and concepts facilitate sermon design and construction; while at the same time a fresh perspective
was given to old ideas and concepts. Eswine's work added to the discussion of expository Christ–
centered preaching as well. In regard to sermon design, Eswine offered several new ideas and
concepts. First, he suggested that preachers ask, "Could I now reach who I once was?". Normally
preachers observer their listeners; however, this question causes preachers to exegete themselves,
motivating them to recall their journey along the path of sanctification. "Remembering where we'd
be without God and then ministering to others out of that knowledge" promotes empathy with
listeners (11). As a result, preachers are able to construct sermons tailored to meet the needs of their
listeners since they can relate to their struggles and situations as well as their questions and
concerns.

introduced was the COR, which locates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To this end, Eswine proposed another concept, discernment of the "echoes of redemption". The
echoes of redemption address the redemptive nature of the text, whereby God provides the needed
provisions of grace to set things right. According to Eswine, "Preachers can learn to identify these
provisions from the biblical text" (50): Divine Armor, Divine Beatitude/Promise, Divine
Wisdom/Fruit, Divine Gift, Divine Diaconate, Divine Miracle, Provision of Community, Divine
Silence, and Divine Self. These provision anchor preachers to the textual situation, moreover, they
echo the provisions given in creation and what mankind is being redeemed toward (51).

classified on the basis of the causative organism (pyogenic bacteria or mycobacteria), the route,

untreated acute hematogenous osteomyelitis. The bone may be predisposed to infection due to
recent trauma. Especially in times of civil unrest or war or as a complication of surgical procedures
such as open reduction and internal fixation of fractures which is the most common means of bone

Another function of bones is the storage of certain minerals. Calcium and phosphorus are among the
main minerals being stored. The importance of this storage "device" helps to regulate mineral
balance in the bloodstream. When the fluctuation of minerals is high, these minerals are stored in
bone; when it is low it will be withdrawn from the bone * Muscular There are three types of
muscles–cardiac, skeletal, and smooth. Smooth muscles are used to control the flow of substances
within the lumens of hollow organs, and are not consciously controlled. Skeletal and cardiac
muscles have striations that are visible under a microscope due to the components within their cells.
Only skeletal and smooth muscles are part of the musculoskeletal system and only the skeletal
muscles can move the body. Cardiac muscles are found in the heart and are used only to circulate
blood; like the smooth muscles, these muscles are not under conscious control. Skeletal muscles are
attached to bones and arranged in opposing groups around joints. Muscles are innervated, to
communicate nervous energy to, by nerves, which conduct electrical currents from the central
nervous system and cause the muscles to contract. * Tendons A tendon is a tough, flexible band of

Harper Lee once said,"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point
of view [...] until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." People have all different levels and
types of education, background, and experiences, which can greatly influence their opinion on
everything. Learning to see other people's perspective can increase empathy and understanding, a
tool that can be wielded to better relationships in a family, work, or school environment.
Families don't always get along. Siblings will argue with one another over seemingly trivial things,
and parents will become apoplectic over a pair of shoes left in the living room. A brother will bug
his sister until she snaps and screams at him. The sister yelled because she was already exhausted
from a taxing school day full of advanced classes and athletics, and the brother becomes upset
because it seems like he didn't do anything other than want to share his excitement for something
he's passionate about. The sister shouldn't have taken her anger out on another person just because

Genesis 12: 10-20 And The Modern World
Genesis 12:10–20 and the Modern World: Genesis 12:10–20 is a text about Abram and Sarai in
Egypt that is considered as one of the great epos narrated in the book of Genesis. Before the
narration of this story, Abram is portrayed as an individual with several positive attributes including
righteousness and humility. However, the story highlights several troubling concerns and questions
regarding Abram's character, beliefs, and behaviors in relation to God and Sarai. These troubling
questions and concerns have become the subject of interest and study throughout the ages. Actually,
the concerns have been examined in various commentaries, adaptations and interpretations, and plot
extensions. The story has mainly been examined from two schools of thought starting with a
description of Sarai's beauty, attractiveness, and sexuality from the male perspective . The second
school of thought is typical expressions of male sexual discourse in light of Abram's disturbing
behavior. Therefore, Genesis 12:10–20 is a good story that applies to the contemporary world and
can be taught in different ways to different age/interest groups. Overview of the Text: The beginning
of the text shows that Abram's decision to go down to Egypt and live there for a while was
influenced by the severe famine in the land. However, while on the border of Egypt, Abram started
to contemplate the dangers that lay ahead. Actually, it seems Abram made the decision to go down

I have a hard time concentrating on one thing. My mind always seems to wander from one thought
to another. Right now, on this beautiful winter day (almost spring–like it seems), I have to wonder
what I'm missing out on in life. The decisions I have made so far in my life has shaped who I will
become and what I will accomplish. It is hard to imagine that something I did when I was five could

I am very unclear on what exactly expository writing is all about. I have come to understand theme

Decision Making Approaches
I Introduction
A job for a leader is to make decisions. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect
of decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing
directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build
up proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making
processes is a significant text for them. This essay firstly is going to discuss the benefits of
automated decision making due to improvement of technology, such as effective quality and
services. Yet, abundant limitations including environmental changes and professional shortages will
be illustrated in the next part. Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple
courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006).
Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their
jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive
relationship with organisational outcomes.
Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in
Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are
demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more
when they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global
management should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real–life decision making makes
more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and
Westley, 2001).
Intuition
To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive
processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot
trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one's gut instinct, feeling as well as
intuition (Matzler et al., 2007). Dane and Pratt (2007) also state that intuition comes from

Expository Teaching
Highly abstract concepts, such as jurisprudence and sovereignty, oftentimes cause high school
students much struggle when trying to thoroughly understand such conceptual ideas. To teach these
theoretical concepts, one must not only equivalently utilize David Ausubel's Expository teaching
model, but also retain an overall knowledge of other valuable strategies related to Ausubels's model
(Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). To Ausubel, the most significant idea is that of the advance organizer, a
statement of introduction that aids students in organizing the information about to be presented. Also
to a teacher's benefit are the ideas needed to form a concept, such as exemplars, defining features,
irrelevant features, non–examples, and prototypes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reviewing material introduced in question and answer format is an efficient way to connect the
information back to the advance organizer. Sovereignty also has a core meaning, "supreme authority
within a territory". In other words, the holder of sovereignty is superior to all authorities under its
purview (plato.stanford.edu). The advance organizer for sovereignty might include a comparison of
different types of "supreme" authorities. One might ask questions such as, "Is high school an
example of sovereignty?", or "Is your family an example of sovereignty?" A discussion of other
countries, historically and today, would also help expand this idea. Discussing the prototype of each
idea will help in relating the content covered back to the advance organizer. While using expository
teaching to present a concept, one would start with an advance organizer. A comparative organizer,
which compares old and new information, would aid in beginning a lesson dealing with the concept
of mammals (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). The lesson could begin with a statement or diagram that
connects several different mammals and deals with comparing and contrasting their relationship. A
teacher would continue by naming and defining the concept, and producing exemplars, or actual
instances. Mammals can be defined as various "warm–blooded vertebrate animals of the class

Relationship Between Vocabulary And Reading Comprehension
Purpose
Research conducted by the National Reading Panel shows that there is a relationship between
vocabulary and reading comprehension. The relationship between vocabulary and reading
comprehension prompted researchers to recommend educators to identify students in the early
grades with low language and vocabulary, and to intervene as soon as possible to prevent later
reading comprehension difficulties. Once educators are awareness of the students that have low
language and vocabulary, interventions should be implemented to target vocabulary development
(p.308).
A strategy identified to build vocabulary is read alouds. A read aloud is an oral reading done by the
teacher that builds background knowledge, vocabulary and comprehension. Research shows that
although read alouds enhance vocabulary it does not close the vocabulary gap. It is suggested that
the addition of extended instruction in the form of a small group could close the vocabulary gap.
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between small–group instruction and
vocabulary development and reading comprehension. The author hypothesizes that students with
low vocabulary and comprehension skills will improve from extended small–group instruction
(p.309).
Method
The study included 106 first graders from 18 classrooms in nine Title I schools in the Pacific
Northwest. Fifty–four students were in the experiment group and received small–group instruction,
and fifty–two students were in the control group.

What is an Expository Writing?
'Expository' is a synonym of 'explanatory'. An expository essay, thus, is a piece of writing that
explains or informs. It is meant to be based on fact and free of the writer's prejudices. Opinion is
often expressed, but only if it is backed by fact. For example, if someone asked you to write an
essay on the causes of World War II, you might write about Germany's losses in World War I, the
Treaty of Versailles, the fall of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Hitler led Nazism. In other
words, everything would be based on verifiable fact – an expository essay.

Expository Writing Class
If only there was a class that focused on nothing but writing, and not just any style of writing, but
MLA format and other writing skills. Wait there is, expository writing. Expository writing is a one
semester long course, that focuses on the learning from the mistakes of an individual's works of
writing and practices MLA format. The beginning the semester started off with, what I can only
describe as death threats, of reasons I should leave this class. The beginning few days of class were
very new to me as MLA format was being reintroduced. Overall this class was worth my time, hard
work and has better prepared me for future writing. This was the only class I have experienced that
had students warning me not to take it, because of the time consuming essays and difficultness of
the class. I have overall found it to be a normal class, with the usual class expectations. For me the
class time was spent being productive and useful. Working outside of class was only a few hours,
but time consuming, like I was warned. In my opinion the warning notes were completely
unnecessary, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The mini lessons about grammar use or punctuation has greatly helped me. The last time a lesson in
grammar was taught to me was in elementary school, and having reminders like those really help. A
lot of things are assumed that I already know, in reality it has been years since I have used or learned
the rules to some structures in a sentence. That is why, I believe, language art classes should
improve on giving lessons, like grammar, to help me and other students use words

Topic Hormone Growth hormone or somatotropin is the hormone involved in the disorder of
acromegaly. Produced by somatotrophs in the anterior pituitary gland, it functions as a metabolic
hormone and determinant of body size. Growth hormones functions mainly on growth effects but it
also has other aiding purpose in different parts of the body such as mobilization of fats, blood level
increase, glycogen breakdown and more. The chemical nature of this hormone is protein based,
hence the name somatotropin. It is originally made in the hypothalamus where it is secreted, then
passes through the anterior pituitary gland before it enters the bloodstream. It is regulated through
negative feedback, inhibiting the release of growth hormones when the amount in the bloodstream is
high already. In terms of target tissues, it is very general, pretty much all the bone structure and most
of the muscular system is affected by the growth hormone. It also has a very short half–life, ranging
from twenty to thirty minutes. Typically, growth hormones are secreted the most during sleep;
however, it decreases with age. Growth hormones cannot be naturally conjugated due to its own
ability to inhibit its release when it is too much in the body already. IV. Mechanism of Action
Normal Effect of Growth Hormone The release of growth hormone in the body is due to two
hormones that has antagonistic effects found in the hypothalamus. Growth hormone–releasing

How to Analyze an Expository Essay
Expository writing, in general, is present everywhere. When you pick up a magazine or examine a
newspaper article on the newsstand, you are reading a form of exposition because the author's main
purpose of writing that article or essay is to inform the reader about a topic. In the classroom, many
students are required to produce research papers about a specific topic, such as migration patterns of
birds. The purpose of that research paper is to inform the reader, the teacher, about what are the
migratory patterns of birds. Finally, at the workplace, many people are required to create business
reports and memorandums to inform their supervisors and co–workers about the company's finances
and progress. In order to analyze these expository ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"Good" directions for a process essay should satisfy the following criteria: clear, concise, organized,
and acknowledges common mistakes. Within the model essay itself, it satisfies all of these
requirements. The text describes, "when you find water becoming extremely hot (or cold)," the
homeowner suggests that the guest, "exit the tub promptly while using a sweeping motion with one
arm to push shower curtain aside"(Frazier 303). This piece of direction is clear because it plainly
informs the guest on the actual action they have to perform in order to prevent hot or cold water
from burning or freezing the guest. It is also concise because it does not include any irrelevant
information pertaining to avoiding burning or freezing the guest. This essay is organized because
when the author listed out his or her directions, he or she listed them out in chronological order.
Lastly, "How to Operate the Shower Curtain" acknowledges common mistakes, such as
"REMEMBER TO KEEP SHOWER CURTAIN INSIDE TUB AT ALL TIMES!" (Frasier 303). The
author is cautioning the guest to keep the shower curtain within the bath tub no matter what. The
reason for determining the kind of expository essay it is to help in determining the purpose of the
exposition as a whole. Next, the third step to analyzing an expository essay is to perform the

The Supplemental Enrichment Program Is A Comprehensive...
A. The supplemental enrichment program is a comprehensive reading and language arts program
that develops reading mastery by building a solid reading foundation and using different research–
based strategies and activities to meet the individual needs of students with autism spectrum
disorder (ASD). As a result, the supplemental enrichment program will prioritize the following core
language and literacy aspects: Reading: Foundational Skills
The supplemental program will incorporate research–based lessons featuring daily repetition of
word analysis and decoding practice. It will also target word–reading skills and practice of words
with phonetic irregularities and sight words in order to primarily boost reading accuracy with the
ultimate goal of increasing overall reading fluency and comprehension.
Reading: Narrative The supplemental program will engage students with autism spectrum disorder
(ASD) in a similar but modified model of guided reading instruction in a small group setting. This
will promote a wide range of skills including a better understanding of the setting, plot, and theme,
comprehension of literal and figurative language, as well as structure and craft of narrative passages.
These skills will always be supported through teacher led explicit direct instruction, guided practice,
and independent practice in every part or aspect of the program.

this, Coughlin and Silver decided to put everyone's time in here. This happened at various times
throughout the book. Not only would the reader receive Coughlin's times, but also her competitor's

Expository Essay On Hiroshima
Hiroshima Expository Essay In Hiroshima, Japan on August 6th, 1945 the lives of 6 survivors
changed. But it changed for the best for some of those people. In the book Hiroshima by John
Hersey, we need to understand how to think about something before doing it, and it's better to think
about our past and how that changes the way of life. In life the best thing to do is to think before you
say/do something bad. When America dropped the Atom bomb "Of the 1,780 nurses alive and well
1,654 were badly hurt/dead after the bomb." (Hersey 24). The Americans weren't thinking about the
lives that would be lost due to their careless act. The bomb's radiation would later kill 100,000
people within the next year. The example of the 1,780 nurses being

Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Short Story 'Sleeping Beauty on...
I. Introduction Gabriel Garcia Marquez is not the first author to reinvent classic European fairy
tales. Yet his short story "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane," alternatively titled "The Plane of
Sleeping Beauty" is a remarkable retelling of the Grimm Brothers' original "Briar Rose." The
original story includes themes of jealousy, fate, and romantic love. Marquez abandons jealousy, as
there is no evil queen spinning a trap for the princess. Therefore Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the
Airplane" provides a unique lens for viewing and revisiting the Grimm Brothers' "Briar Rose."
Marquez's story distorts the original fairy tale, highlighting the power of unrequited physical
attraction between strangers. II. Body Paragraph: Introducing the Lens A. Summary: The narrator is
a man traveling from Paris to New York. While waiting in line to check in, he spies "the most
gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my life." The man proceeds to follow the woman, and fate
would have it that he picked the seat right next to her. The woman sleeps the entire time on the
plane, giving rise to the "sleeping beauty" motif. Unlike the original Briar Rose, though, the narrator
never becomes her prince. He does not kiss her to wake her from the slumber, and they do not live
happily ever after. Instead they barely speak. B. As a lens for Briar Rose, Marquez's "Sleeping
Beauty on the Airplane" is told from the prince's perspective. Only for Marquez, the prince neither
kisses nor wins over the heart of

During the Hiroshima bombing many people did not have compassion, but as for Mr. Kleinsorge he
used his beliefs to power through the hard times. "Father Kleinsorge lay down and said the Lord's

Expository Writing : Writing, Expository, Persuasive,...
You ever hear someone say they have swagger? A lot of times people's swagger is determined from
their style. For example, everyone has a specific style of fashion. If you put on some cargo shorts
with a tank top and slides you're probably not going to a job interview. Just like anything else,
writing has different expressions. Writing is a form of communication; the person is writing to
inform, persuade, describe, or tell a story. There are four main types of writing styles, expository,
persuasive, descriptive, and narrative. We then choose what we want to read according to our
interest in each category.
Let's look at expository writing. Expository writing is usually developed around one topic and is

Its name might as well give it away. Think of a closing argument in a court case being presented to a
jury. Each party's counsel is presenting a persuasive writing in the form of a speech. In this type of
writing the writer uses choice words in a cohesive manner in order to "sway" or persuade the reader.
You will most commonly come across this type of writing in advertisement. With that being said,
persuasive writing is all around us. This type of communication may consist of the writer's opinions,
but the best form also includes facts to back up his or her statements. With attempts to get
consumers to purchase specific products, we see persuasive writings all around us in today's world.
"The battlefield had a cold malevolent air to it, the wind howling past you in every which way, as if
trying to express its own confusion at the sudden seize–fire. I, myself, was confused. One minute the
bullets were raining holy hell down on us in a never–ending bombardment, and the next, nothing."
An anonymous soldier gives detailed picture of a battlefield scene. Descriptive writing, often used to
portray a vivid, detailed experience, person, place, or thing, is third of the writing styles. This style
of writing requires strong observation skills to convey the writer's point of view. In personal stories,
you tend to see a lot of descriptive writing because it's the writer's story. He or she was there and can

Notes on the Current State of the American Healthcare System
I. Introduction A. The current state of healthcare in the United States is in shambles. B. Recent
reform measures are trying to reduce premiums and extend coverage to Americans who need it, but
are being blocked by special interests and lobbying from staunchly opposing Republicans in office.
C. As such, the financial situation here in the United States in regards to healthcare is only
continuing to disadvantage millions as they wait for a resolution and reforms that have been
promised to them, sowing how a strong two–tiered system with a foundation in government
sponsored universal care would benefit the United States dramatically. II. Current Chaos of the
Healthcare System A. Unfortunately today, healthcare costs are simply much to high for many
Americans to have access to affordable and good coverage. 1. The cost of healthcare in the United
States is now one of the most expensive out of countries from all over the world (Enterprise News
2012). 2. This has resulted in over 50.7 million Americans who are currently uninsured (Cooper
2011). B. Private healthcare continued to increase premiums in the last few decades, which only
further isolated good coverage from the majority of Americans. 1. Many of these premiums are
increasing because the current system is simply too costly. 2. Here, the research shows that in many
situations, healthcare professionals are urged to conduct unnecessary tests and procedures in order to

The Pro's and Con's of a student preacher can be very nerve wrecking because of the responsibility

apparent techniques have been discovered? Speaking of technique, how should a student preacher

Through this survey they found the small church pastor was not as influence by books because their
concern was more focused on discipleship. Whereas the pastor of a larger church was more apt to
read more books to get incite on how to continue to grow his church and meet the needs of the
people. Also the survey revealed the different types of influence came from authors, their fellow
colleagues and other theology influences. Also, they discovered pastors of a Pentecostal churches
were more conservative in their approaches and would not use the influence of outside sources. The
Word of God talks about the mature saint and the survey also discovered that the age of a pastor will
have influence of what is preached based on experience. Either way modern day preaching has
many factors of how a sermon is structured and shared among congregations at every main service.
When you consider how today's modern preacher or teacher compares to the original believers of
Christ there is a shortage in comparison. There could be one factor missing and it's just purely
believing in the power of God's word being enough for the people to feed on and live on until
eternity. His word never changes it is the bread of life that will feed any intellectual of our time.

Persepolis Expository Response
Persepolis Expository Response Essay I would describe Marji in the beginning of the book
Persepolis as a child that didn't understand everything that was going on in the world. Then again,
you have to remember she is a child and wont understand everything shes told or going through, but
that's not just with her thats with all children around the world. Although, Marji and I experiences
are different, I feel she had to grow up and mature faster than most children because she was going
through things most kids in the modern world wouldn't imagine going through. Therefore, she is
alike children today and also different from children in the new era. Marji is a child that goes
through a lot at a young age. For example, her country is going through revolution and is at war.
Although, she probably doesn't understand everything that's going on, she sees that its taking a toll
on her friends and family. "At one of the demonstrations, a German Journalist took a photo of my
mother. She dyed her hair and wore dark glasses for a long time".(pg 5) Also, Marji isn't as mature
because of her age. She tends to repeat things that hurt people's feelings and doesn't know when to
keep certain truths to herself because she doesn't know right from wrong all the way yet. "Don't you
know that when they keep saying someone is on a trip, it really means he is dead"? ... Show more

These are lipids (fat–soluble chemicals) produced naturally by the human body. Some of these
steroids include the male hormone testosterone (an androgen) and the female hormones estrogen and
progesterone. Testosterone is responsible for many of the physical changes that occur to males
during adolescence, such as deepening of the voice and increase in muscle mass. Even after
adolescence, testosterone continues to influence a variety of male sexual and emotional processes.
Derivatives of testosterone can be artificially produced in a laboratory. These steroids, first
developed in the late 1930s, are commonly prescribed for medical reasons such as preventing the
loss of bone density from osteoporosis or counteracting the body–wasting effects of acquired
immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Weightlifters discovered the potential athletic benefits of
steroids in the 1950s, and their use by top–level athletes spread in the ensuing decades. In 1991
congressional legislation made steroids a controlled substance in the United States, meaning they
could only be obtained legally with a doctor's prescription.
Despite this, the illegal use of steroids remained widespread among athletes seeking to gain strength
and bulk up their bodies. Taken by injection or in pill form, performance–enhancing steroids work
primarily by stimulating certain proteins involved in the building of muscle tissue. The result is an
increase in the person's fat–free

Dracula Expository Essay

  • 1. Dracula Expository Essay Expository Essay Mary Arnold For centuries, vampires have been depicted in various cultures and throughout literary history as both bloodsuckers and vampire lovers. They form an intense, codependent partnership in New Orleans, completing their family with a tempestuous vampire child, Claudia, played by Kirsten Dunst, whom Lestat has converted. The vampires depicted in the film have both monster–like, humorous and romantic qualities; all of which are not usually depicted at the same time in a vampire film. Interview with the Vampire marked the beginning of a romantic vampire renaissance in fiction, theater and film that continues to the present day. Now, let's take a look at another vampire film that supplies comedy like no other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Skeletal muscles are attached to bones and arranged in opposing groups around joints. Muscles are innervated, to communicate nervous energy to, by nerves, which conduct electrical currents from the central nervous system and cause the muscles to contract. * Tendons A tendon is a tough, flexible band of fibrous connective tissue that connects muscles to bones. Expository Essay On Stereotypes Expository Essay Harper Lee once said,"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view [...] until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." People have all different levels and types of education, background, and experiences, which can greatly influence their opinion on everything. Learning to see other people's perspective can increase empathy and understanding, a tool that can be wielded to better relationships in a family, work, or school environment. Families don't always get along. Siblings will argue with one another over seemingly trivial things, and parents will become apoplectic over a pair of shoes left in the living room. A brother will bug his sister until she snaps and screams at him. The sister yelled because she was already exhausted from a taxing school day full of advanced classes and athletics, and the brother becomes upset because it seems like he didn't do anything other than want to share his excitement for something he's passionate about. Genesis 12: 10-20 And The Modern World Genesis 12:10–20 and the Modern World: Genesis 12:10–20 is a text about Abram and Sarai in Egypt that is considered as one of the great epos narrated in the book of Genesis. Before the narration of this story, Abram is portrayed as an individual with several positive attributes including righteousness and humility. However, the story highlights several troubling concerns and questions regarding Abram's character, beliefs, and behaviors in relation to God and Sarai. These troubling questions and concerns have become the subject of interest and study throughout the ages. Actually, the concerns have been examined in various commentaries, adaptations and interpretations, and plot extensions. The story has mainly been examined from two schools of thought starting with a description of Sarai's beauty, attractiveness, and sexuality from the male perspective . The second school of thought is typical expressions of male sexual discourse in light of Abram's disturbing behavior. Therefore, Genesis 12:10–20 is a good story that applies to the contemporary world and can be taught in different ways to different age/interest groups. Overview of the Text: The beginning of the text shows that Abram's decision to go down to Egypt and live there for a while was influenced by the severe famine in the land. Right now, as I write, I'm not exactly sure I'm reaching the goal of this assignment, but this may be the best that it gets. Most managers or executives have to engage in some aspect of decision making including coming up with ideas, evaluative alternatives, or implementing directives (Brousseau et al., 2006). However, it could be a critical issue for decision makers to build up proper decisions in various situations. Hence, how to adopt suitable technique in decision making processes is a significant text for them. In the thinking mode, executives can make decisions that are broadly defined and consist of multiple courses of action (Brousseau et al., 2006). Successful managers in organisations are more analytic in their style while they progress in their jobs (Brousseau et al., 2006). Further, Elbanna and Child (2007) prove that rationality has a positive relationship with organisational outcomes. Nonetheless, some constraints of rational decision making process should be pointed out. Firstly, in Brousseau et al. (2006) study, significant differences of global management culture are demonstrated. For instance, Americans stand apart in using a flexible thinking style more and more when they progress in their position, but the situation is reversed in Latin America. Thus, global management should be aware of differences in culture. Moreover, real–life decision making makes more sense than people think because so much of it is beyond conscious thinking (Mintzberg and Westley, 2001). Intuition To date, researchers have emphasised rational decision making processes rather than intuitive processes (Elbanna and Child, 2007). However, all the data or information in the world cannot trump the valuable experiences from lifetime that informs one's gut instinct, feeling as well as intuition (Matzler et al., 2007). • 31. Expository Teaching Highly abstract concepts, such as jurisprudence and sovereignty, oftentimes cause high school students much struggle when trying to thoroughly understand such conceptual ideas. To teach these theoretical concepts, one must not only equivalently utilize David Ausubel's Expository teaching model, but also retain an overall knowledge of other valuable strategies related to Ausubels's model (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). To Ausubel, the most significant idea is that of the advance organizer, a statement of introduction that aids students in organizing the information about to be presented. Also to a teacher's benefit are the ideas needed to form a concept, such as exemplars, defining features, irrelevant features, non–examples, and prototypes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reviewing material introduced in question and answer format is an efficient way to connect the information back to the advance organizer. Sovereignty also has a core meaning, "supreme authority within a territory". In other words, the holder of sovereignty is superior to all authorities under its purview (plato.stanford.edu). The advance organizer for sovereignty might include a comparison of different types of "supreme" authorities. One might ask questions such as, "Is high school an example of sovereignty?", or "Is your family an example of sovereignty?" A discussion of other countries, historically and today, would also help expand this idea. Discussing the prototype of each idea will help in relating the content covered back to the advance organizer. While using expository teaching to present a concept, one would start with an advance organizer. A comparative organizer, which compares old and new information, would aid in beginning a lesson dealing with the concept of mammals (Woolfolk, 2004, p. 281). The lesson could begin with a statement or diagram that connects several different mammals and deals with comparing and contrasting their relationship. A teacher would continue by naming and defining the concept, and producing exemplars, or actual instances. Mammals can be defined as various "warm–blooded vertebrate animals of the class Mammalia, including humans, characterized by a covering of hair on the skin, and in the ... • 33. Relationship Between Vocabulary And Reading Comprehension Purpose Research conducted by the National Reading Panel shows that there is a relationship between vocabulary and reading comprehension. The relationship between vocabulary and reading comprehension prompted researchers to recommend educators to identify students in the early grades with low language and vocabulary, and to intervene as soon as possible to prevent later reading comprehension difficulties. Once educators are awareness of the students that have low language and vocabulary, interventions should be implemented to target vocabulary development (p.308). A strategy identified to build vocabulary is read alouds. A read aloud is an oral reading done by the teacher that builds background knowledge, vocabulary and comprehension. Research shows that although read alouds enhance vocabulary it does not close the vocabulary gap. It is suggested that the addition of extended instruction in the form of a small group could close the vocabulary gap. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between small–group instruction and vocabulary development and reading comprehension. The author hypothesizes that students with low vocabulary and comprehension skills will improve from extended small–group instruction (p.309). Method The study included 106 first graders from 18 classrooms in nine Title I schools in the Pacific Northwest. Fifty–four students were in the experiment group and received small–group instruction, and fifty–two students were in the control group. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is because you know everything is about to change. In less than 24 hours you will be holding a glistening gold medal in your hand, standing up on the podium while the Star Spangled Banner blares for the whole world to hear and tears will stream down your face. Taking one look back at your coach, Teri McKeever, you realize if it wasn't for her you would not be here. Graciously, you run up, swing your arms around her body, and embrace her in a powerful hug that says it all. Swimming is a very intense sport and consumes every second of a swimmer's free time. However, putting in hundreds ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, "The Aussies won another gold and, with a time of 3:57.32, set another world record. The United States (3:59.12) edged Germany (4:00.72) for second, making Coughlin's final medal tally two golds, two silvers, and a bronze." The quote presented in the text shows how when writing this, Coughlin and Silver decided to put everyone's time in here. This happened at various times throughout the book. Not only would the reader receive Coughlin's times, but also her competitor's times as well. Knowing others' times make it more of a real experience and allow the reader to feel like they are standing on deck with Natalie and her coach, McKeever. Also, the book states, "In the end, Emily had chosen Cal over Arizona, and Helen felt the Bears could validate that decision by prevailing." This quote along with the quote "So Crossen called Amano, asked if she'd made a decision and nearly dropped the phone when she answered, 'Yes. I think I'm coming to Cal.'" allows the reader to have an insight on some of Coughlin's teammates. It's important for the reader to be informed on how Natalie's fellow swimmers became recruited because each one of the swimmers in the book both benefitted and interacted with Coughlin. Each one of them played a role in Natalie's life and that is why the authors informed the reader of how her teammates were recruited. The book also explains some of their personal lives ... He was healthy, he sang and performed instruments. Moreover, all that was mentioned, for Christopher, wasn't enough. He had still a need; a necessity that required discovering in a way outside the commonplace, the wonders, mysteries and obstacles that nature has with it. Thus one day, Christopher McCandless, a newly graduated college student without preambles got rid of his belongings and money in bank accounts. Enjoying nature, breathing deeply, forgetting all the problems and conflicts that exist in civilization, feeling the tranquility that gives its essence, the energy that nature gives to the human being, the peace that gives to the mind and much more for Chris was a complete sensation. Chris got inspired by Jack London, an American novelist, who wrote "To Build a Fire" where he quotes "Empty as the mind was of thoughts, he was keenly observant, and he noticed the changes in the creek, the curves and Bends and timber jams, and always sharply noted where I have placed his feet. " Saying how a man in pure nature does not put thoughts that are useless in the mind, as most in society do now, stagnate in thoughts without any benefit. • 60. Expository Essay On Hiroshima Hiroshima Expository Essay In Hiroshima, Japan on August 6th, 1945 the lives of 6 survivors changed. But it changed for the best for some of those people. In the book Hiroshima by John Hersey, we need to understand how to think about something before doing it, and it's better to think about our past and how that changes the way of life. In life the best thing to do is to think before you say/do something bad. When America dropped the Atom bomb "Of the 1,780 nurses alive and well 1,654 were badly hurt/dead after the bomb." (Hersey 24). The Americans weren't thinking about the lives that would be lost due to their careless act. The bomb's radiation would later kill 100,000 people within the next year. • 62. Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Short Story 'Sleeping Beauty on... I. Introduction Gabriel Garcia Marquez is not the first author to reinvent classic European fairy tales. Yet his short story "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane," alternatively titled "The Plane of Sleeping Beauty" is a remarkable retelling of the Grimm Brothers' original "Briar Rose." The original story includes themes of jealousy, fate, and romantic love. Marquez abandons jealousy, as there is no evil queen spinning a trap for the princess. Therefore Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane" provides a unique lens for viewing and revisiting the Grimm Brothers' "Briar Rose." Marquez's story distorts the original fairy tale, highlighting the power of unrequited physical attraction between strangers. II. Body Paragraph: Introducing the Lens A. Summary: The narrator is a man traveling from Paris to New York. While waiting in line to check in, he spies "the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen in my life." The man proceeds to follow the woman, and fate would have it that he picked the seat right next to her. The woman sleeps the entire time on the plane, giving rise to the "sleeping beauty" motif. Unlike the original Briar Rose, though, the narrator never becomes her prince. He does not kiss her to wake her from the slumber, and they do not live happily ever after. Instead they barely speak. B. As a lens for Briar Rose, Marquez's "Sleeping Beauty on the Airplane" is told from the prince's perspective. Only for Marquez, the prince neither kisses nor wins over the heart of ... For example, everyone has a specific style of fashion. If you put on some cargo shorts with a tank top and slides you're probably not going to a job interview. Just like anything else, writing has different expressions. Writing is a form of communication; the person is writing to inform, persuade, describe, or tell a story. With that being said, persuasive writing is all around us. This type of communication may consist of the writer's opinions, but the best form also includes facts to back up his or her statements. With attempts to get consumers to purchase specific products, we see persuasive writings all around us in today's world. "The battlefield had a cold malevolent air to it, the wind howling past you in every which way, as if trying to express its own confusion at the sudden seize–fire. I, myself, was confused. One minute the bullets were raining holy hell down on us in a never–ending bombardment, and the next, nothing." An anonymous soldier gives detailed picture of a battlefield scene. Descriptive writing, often used to portray a vivid, detailed experience, person, place, or thing, is third of the writing styles. Recent reform measures are trying to reduce premiums and extend coverage to Americans who need it, but are being blocked by special interests and lobbying from staunchly opposing Republicans in office. C. As such, the financial situation here in the United States in regards to healthcare is only continuing to disadvantage millions as they wait for a resolution and reforms that have been promised to them, sowing how a strong two–tiered system with a foundation in government sponsored universal care would benefit the United States dramatically. II. Current Chaos of the Healthcare System A. Unfortunately today, healthcare costs are simply much to high for many Americans to have access to affordable and good coverage. 1. The cost of healthcare in the United States is now one of the most expensive out of countries from all over the world (Enterprise News 2012). 2. This has resulted in over 50.7 million Americans who are currently uninsured (Cooper 2011). B. Private healthcare continued to increase premiums in the last few decades, which only further isolated good coverage from the majority of Americans. 1. Many of these premiums are increasing because the current system is simply too costly. 2. Persepolis Expository Response Persepolis Expository Response Essay I would describe Marji in the beginning of the book Persepolis as a child that didn't understand everything that was going on in the world. Then again, you have to remember she is a child and wont understand everything shes told or going through, but that's not just with her thats with all children around the world. Although, Marji and I experiences are different, I feel she had to grow up and mature faster than most children because she was going through things most kids in the modern world wouldn't imagine going through. Therefore, she is alike children today and also different from children in the new era. Marji is a child that goes through a lot at a young age. For example, her country is going through revolution and is at war. Although, she probably doesn't understand everything that's going on, she sees that its taking a toll on her friends and family. "At one of the demonstrations, a German Journalist took a photo of my mother. She dyed her hair and wore dark glasses for a long time".(pg 5) Also, Marji isn't as mature because of her age. She tends to repeat things that hurt people's feelings and doesn't know when to keep certain truths to herself because she doesn't know right from wrong all the way yet. Some of these steroids include the male hormone testosterone (an androgen) and the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. Testosterone is responsible for many of the physical changes that occur to males during adolescence, such as deepening of the voice and increase in muscle mass. Even after adolescence, testosterone continues to influence a variety of male sexual and emotional processes. Derivatives of testosterone can be artificially produced in a laboratory. These steroids, first developed in the late 1930s, are commonly prescribed for medical reasons such as preventing the loss of bone density from osteoporosis or counteracting the body–wasting effects of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Weightlifters discovered the potential athletic benefits of steroids in the 1950s, and their use by top–level athletes spread in the ensuing decades. In 1991 congressional legislation made steroids a controlled substance in the United States, meaning they could only be obtained legally with a doctor's prescription. Despite this, the illegal use of steroids remained widespread among athletes seeking to gain strength and bulk up their bodies.
