1. Abstract
The firm internationalization literature is extensive, but dominated by studies of technical, often
large, firms. The service firm internationalization literature is slowly growing. Few international
contributions are found investigating the advertising industry and no such studies focus on the
Swedish market. The PR industry has been internationally neglected. This study investigates four
advertising agencies and four PR agencies in the Swedish market. The eight case agencies confirm

Lastly, these authors used quantitative research method, which generally limits the freedom of the
respondents in answering questions. The Public Relations, PR, industry has been internationally
neglected. A possible explanation to this neglect is that this industry has been assumed to be the
same as the advertising industry. The gap in research should by now be evident! Despite a growing
body of service literature, the internationalization of the advertising industry and the Public
Relations industry in Sweden has remained unchartered territories for research. The
internationalization motives and the entry modes for the advertising industry in USA are somewhat
known, but the PR industry is neglected internationally. The link between motives and entry modes
in the advertising industry is blurry even from an international perspective and the latest
contribution was released in year 1990. Furthermore, it is unclear what importance the concept of
psychic distance (Johanson and Vahlne 1977; Johanson and Wiedersheim–Paul 1975) has for the
international expansion in these industries and if and how business contacts

enables these industries to internationalize (Johanson and Mattsson 1988). Additionally, there is
no recent research focusing on these industries after the globalization of services and the enhanced

Emotional stability is the ability to tolerate frustration and stress. Being able to be well–adjusted and

University, 2014). During Sandy, Mr. Holley had to manage personnel, equipment, facilities, and

Alan Mann's Life Story Alan Mann was born in 1974 in the city of Monroe, Michigan. Monroe is
about 40 miles South of Detroit on Lake Erie. He has two older brothers named Jason and Michael.
Alan's parents met when they were in the Navy. His father changed services to the Army and was
stationed in Monroe as a recruiter after returning from the Vietnam War. Being born the son of an
Army member makes one an "Army Brat" which means moving very often and attending several
schools over one's lifetime (Baker, 2015). One of his earliest memories is of his mother bundling
him up to go outside in the heavy snows of a Michigan winter storm. In 1978, the family moved to
Mainz, Germany where he attended the first grade. While stationed there, the family visited many
German castles, learned a lot of German history, went on Volksmarches which were noncompetitive
walkathons (AVA) and met a lot of interesting people. In 1981, the family moved back to the United
States to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. There, Alan attended Logan Heights Elementary School. His
house was on a street that had a dead end. Beyond the dead end was literally the desert complete
with cactuses, tumbleweeds, horned frogs, and tarantulas. He loved going over the border to Juarez,
Mexico with the family and haggling with the merchants for items. Finally, in 1982 the family
moved to Ft. Polk, Louisiana for his last move which is where his father retired from the military. In
Louisiana, Alan attended Leesville Junior High and High School. He graduated with honors in 1992.
He enrolled at Northwestern State University for the fall semester. However, he was working full
time, had an hour long commute to classes, and a new girlfriend that would soon be his wife. His
grades weren't very good. Alan decided perhaps he was ready for a break from school and was ready
to do a little "growing up". Having a long history of military service in his family, he looked to do

make the audience stop and think for a little bit afterward, there needs to be a pause, a moment of
"huh...", even if brief. It needs to be something different, something unusual. Film Festivals

stealth aircraft. Stealth aircraft require specific Low Observable (LO) maintenance which is both
time consuming and costly. Due to the limited sorties, B–2 pilots have utilized a CTP since 1993 to
"provide additional time necessary for crews to maintain flight currency and continue to develop

of this new process. My initial analysis is that this will be the area of least concern due to program
being housed within my organization and my organization owning the systems and processes that
will be implemented. There should be little time spent on process or funding approvals. Once we
know all of the modifications that need to be made and implemented we will have a better
timeframe and schedule of events.

Based on the make–up of the Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), a resident program located
at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, it will represent the AF PME School during
this analysis. ACSC is an intermediate level PME School for U.S. and international military
personnel. Air National Guard (ANG) personnel attend ACSC, with very few, if any, Army NG
personnel. Therefore, this study will only focus on the use of ANG personnel. After completing
ACSC, U.S. military forces possess the skills and knowledge to fill squadron commander positions
and operational staff–level jobs supporting Combatant Commanders, Joint Staff, Air Staff, and
senior level interagency officials. According to Brigadier General Jimmie Jackson, Jr., then ACSC
Commandant, he testified to Congress on June 25, 2009 that since 1946 approximately 2,500 IO's
from 92 nations graduated from the college and later became Chiefs of Staff, Heads of State,

This is not what war is supposed to look like. That is my first thought upon arriving at MacDill Air
Force Base, Florida, on March 11, 2010. We stop at a small red–roofed gatehouse with a single–
beamed electric post. The quiet entrance of this base, with its red–leafed palms, towering oaks, and
rows of citrus trees, set on a 6,000–acre peninsula, has the appearance of an idyllic beach resort. The
wooden gatehouse is neither substantial nor imposing. It does not hint of Fortress America–nor

Monroe is about 40 miles South of Detroit on Lake Erie. He has two older brothers named Jason and Michael. Alan's parents met when they were in the Navy. His father changed services to the Army and was stationed in Monroe as a recruiter after returning from the Vietnam War. Being born the son of an Army member makes one an "Army Brat" which means moving very often and attending several schools over one's lifetime (Baker, 2015). One of his earliest memories is of his mother bundling him up to go outside in the heavy snows of a Michigan winter storm. In 1978, the family moved to Mainz, Germany where he attended the first grade. While stationed there, the family visited many German castles, learned a lot of German history, went on Volksmarches which were noncompetitive walkathons (AVA) and met a lot of interesting people. In 1981, the family moved back to the United States to Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas. There, Alan attended Logan Heights Elementary School. His house was on a street that had a dead end. Beyond the dead end was literally the desert complete with cactuses, tumbleweeds, horned frogs, and tarantulas. He loved going over the border to Juarez, Mexico with the family and haggling with the merchants for items. Finally, in 1982 the family moved to Ft. Polk, Louisiana for his last move which is where his father retired from the military. In Louisiana, Alan attended Leesville Junior High and High School. He graduated with honors in 1992. He enrolled at Northwestern State University for the fall semester. However, he was working full time, had an hour long commute to classes, and a new girlfriend that would soon be his wife. His grades weren't very good. Alan decided perhaps he was ready for a break from school and was ready to do a little "growing up". Having a long history of military service in his family, he looked to do his duty and serve also. ACSC is an intermediate level PME School for U.S. and international military personnel. Air National Guard (ANG) personnel attend ACSC, with very few, if any, Army NG personnel. Therefore, this study will only focus on the use of ANG personnel. After completing ACSC, U.S. military forces possess the skills and knowledge to fill squadron commander positions and operational staff–level jobs supporting Combatant Commanders, Joint Staff, Air Staff, and senior level interagency officials. According to Brigadier General Jimmie Jackson, Jr., then ACSC Commandant, he testified to Congress on June 25, 2009 that since 1946 approximately 2,500 IO's from 92 nations graduated from the college and later became Chiefs of Staff, Heads of State, Ministers, Ambassadors, or members of Parliament".
