In most films, African Americans are also shown in a stereotypical manner that promotes notions of moral inferiority. When it comes to the terms of
movie characters shown by race African Americans use more vulgar profanity than whites. African Americans are also being physically violent and
restrained than whites. The despite history of African Americans in television, there has been improvement in some of the television and movie roles

Being an adolescent teen has it's up and down especially in this day in age. The topic of runaway adolescents is nothing new and it's an ongoing
issue that seems to be common during the stage of adolescence. Going through my stage as an adolescent teen, I've also considered running away
from home just like every other teen. The documentary and article gives a pretty good overview in my opinion about why adolescents run away
from home. One of the reasons these two sources explain why adolescents run away from home is due to problems such as a family breakup,
domestic violence, and poverty (Thomson & Pillai, 2006). These problems arise because parents are neglecting teens, abusive, substance use
problems, and kicking them out due to not following the rules. Other problems that can arise due to adolescent teens run away from home are
because they've been physically or sexually abuse by another family member. The article also mentions that if a teen has run away for the first time;
they're more likely to stay with another family member or a close friend. As I saw in the documentary "streetwise", runaway adolescents ended up

This paper is about the anthropology book Streetwise: Race, Class, and Change in an Urban Community by Elijah Anderson. In the book, Anderson
exposes the racial relationship between blacks and white along with the class relations between the poor and rich in an urban community located in
Philadelphia. Elijah Anderson uses both native Philadelphian stories and his own professional understanding to describe, in detail, the interactions of
people of different race and social standing in Philadelphia. Even though, Anderson spent years living in Philadelphia to research for this book,
Streetwise could be used to describe any major city in the country. Although, Streetwise was originally published in 1992, Anderson's research is still
an applicable issue in contemporary society. That is why I believe Streetwise; Race, Class, and Change in an Urban Community is a great read for

The first finding that emerged from our thematic analysis was alternative organizing done by Taxpayers for Public Education stemming from

For the past few weeks in this class, we have discussed the strategies of navigating poorer urban neighborhoods and the scholarship that has been
done on the populations in those communities. We have discussed gang formation, policing, gendered interactions with gang life and the code of the

But Dill tells enormous lies, unlikely stories just as Mayella does during Tom 's trial. He often pretends to be something he isn 't, just like Dolphus
Raymond does when he comes into town. He risks his safety to run away to Maycomb just as Jem risks his when he goes to collect his pants from

Dance has come a long way since it first began, and that road has been paved by different styles and choreographers. Modern dance is one of the
biggest contributions to dance today. It all began with the rebellion against classical ballet. If it wasn't for Modern, many aspects and styles of dance
would not exist today. Also, without choreographers we would have nodance. One of the most influential Modern choreographers is Twyla Tharp.
Twyla Tharp was born on July 1, 1941 in Portland, Indiana. She began taking dance in 1950 when she was nine years old. Her family moved to
Rialto, California where she began taking lessons at the Vera Lynn School of Dance as a high school student. For college, Tharp attended Pamona
College in California. She then transferred to Barnard College in New York City. She graduated from there in 1963 with a degree in art history. While
in New York she studied under Richard Thomas,Martha Graham, and Merce Cunningham. In 1966, she formed her own company, Twyla Tharp Dance.
In that company, she traveled around the world performing original works. Tharp has choreographed more than one hundred sixty works: one hundred

I know that it is hard to keep the balance between modern and classical dance, yet she has done it. It is amazing that she has studied under some of the
most prestigious and well known modern dancers and choreographers of all time. She has accomplished so much and is continuing to amaze the world
with her talent. She may not be a well–known choreographer but she should be. I hope that one day I can be half an inspiration as she is. During this
project, I have become very familiar with Twyla Tharp. She, honestly, has become a major inspiration to me. Her dancing style and works remind me
of the types of dance I love the most. I hope that I can one day meet
