Marching Band Strengths
1.) What are three of your strengths that will help to set you apart from other candidates seeking this position?
I think that my strongest strength this time around is my experience. After three years of varsity marching band, I feel like I have the ability to
guide the incoming freshmen, along with the underclassmen and fellow seniors to become better marchers. Another thing that I have is that I can
relate to the trombone section. I know more than anyone that the trombone section can get quite detracted at times, myself included, but since I've
matured but still have fun with them, a feel like they will be more inclined to listen to me when I say it's time to focus up compared to the times
when its okay to be a little more lax. The final strength that I have is my playing and memorizing. My freshman year was hard because I didn't know
my music as well as the seniors, and kinda learned it from hearing them play it. This also works as a confirmation to people that are playing the music,
because if it's the same then they know that they're playing it right as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though I got much better at staying focused over the course of last years marching band season, I still have a lot of room to improve. The second
weakness is the lack of control that I have on the section at times. The only way I can change this is by being a better role model all the time, instead
of demanding my fellow section to be good even though I'm not all the time.

Reflective Essay: Band Analysis
I have been a fan of bands. It is not because of their music ability, but because of the people character. I have watched bands like Florida
Agriculture& mechanic University, Butler University, Arizona State University, and Hampton University. The one thing I see in all of these bands
and many more is the how much their care about each other. They constantly help each other as if that was their family. Then as they display their
show you see their workmanship. How much they put into it, and care to make sure they are perfect. Something you do not see in other groups. I
played football, basketball, and other sports, but none of those teams were close as a band. Then when I joined the 3rd grade band, and all the things I
learned. It was not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My friends and I would miss our last class of the day because of band. We would run down to the band room and set up for that day practice. It felt like
it was a different world. Something that was different from school and life. Seating in our sets waiting to play the piece in front of us. The rush of
being there was the best. Seating next to your friends and playing an instrument we was able to choice because we wanted to play it. My friends and I
loved our instrument. The instrument of a reflection of us, describing our personality and character. We all loved the band. We loved makingmusic. In
our school, the classes was separated by musical talent. So, my friends and I wanted the school to know the band is the best students in the school.
We were better than the class of kids in orchestra, the class of kids in choir, and the class of kids who did not choose a musical group. We were better
than them on the playgrounds and in our class grade, but we want to better in than them in performance nights. When the band hit the stage everyone
will know that we were the best. The other musical groups are subpar, and we were the best thing you would ever

The Who
Do you know who the Who are? If you do that's awesome, but if you don't then ask your parents. In the meantime, read this. The Who is known as
one of the first very successful bands in the style of punk rock music and produced the first rock opera Tommy but there were struggles along the way.
Each of the four artists had a different way of getting interested and staying in music. Pete Townshend had a musical family. He was born into a family
that listened to rock and all sorts of different music. His parents were very musical too. Pete's mom was a singer and his father was a professional sax
player. So he had two strong influences throughout his whole life. John Entewistle having started ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pete's solo career was going good. In the time between 1969 and 1971 he had already had recorded three albums. Rodger too was doing well with the

they were still on the American charts. Also while he was withthe Who he had released five albums by himself. At the Live Aid the Who came back
together for one last gig after Keith's death but during that gig everyone was happy and it felt good being back together, the split was over (Flynn,

Essay On Marching Band
My junior year marching season had officially come to a close. The time arrived for the now former drum major to aid in the decision of who would
be his successor. Starting with the day I picked up an instrument for the very first time, music has always been an important part of my life.
After the date for the interviews were announced, I practiced by asking myself a couple questions that I thought might be asked of me and prepared
my answers; I made sure that they were "perfect" or at the very least expressed my interest in the position. The day of interviewing had come and
gone. I felt pretty confident with the answers that I had given. Now, I just needed to survive the hard part: waiting.
"The three of you that tried out for the drum major position, could you meet me out in the hall?" announced the band director. My whole entire body
froze as soon as the words left the director's lips. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The director continued on and on about how hard the process was and how she wished that position could go to all of us. "The new drum major for
next year's marching season is...," she paused. The name she announced was not my own.
This was not the first time I heard a "no", but it sure felt like it. I instantly felt sick to my stomach. I could feel this all too familiar feeling of my face
beginning to heat, just as it did before tears were about to fall. I did not want to cry, at least not here, not in front of everyone. Crying would only fuel
the numerous apologies and the reassuring words that at the moment, I did not want to

Upperman High School Band Analysis
The band is in the stadium. The announcer calls "Upperman High School" jarring each ear with anxiety. The band is called to attention in preparation
for the score call. The band stands at attention with each drop of sweat intensifying the setting. Rome wasn't built in a day. The members of the band
spend weeks or even months of preparation for this moment. The key to their preparation is their band area where they utilize the band room, the
practice field, and the trophies. What they do in this band territory will now decide the next ten seconds of their lives. The band room is the center of
the band. In the band room, the band practices its music for concert band and, occasionally, marching band. The band also meets here at the beginning

The trophies are the color of gold, and they gleam to gain attention. These feathers in the band's cap have the ratings and rankings from the
competition that they were gained from. Whether it's a good score or a bad score, the golden shimmer attracts the sight of anyone nearby. If it's a
good score, the trophy says, "Good job! Keep it up." But if it's a bad score, the trophy says, "You better step it up if you want to do better next
weekend." The trophies are placed right above the band lockers so that the band sees its motivation every time an instrument is taken out.
Moreover, the trophies showcase all of the toil that the band has endured. Each trophy shows the score and ranking of a competition. Scores are on
a scale of one to five with one being the best. Each competition has many classes with multiple bands. Bands bring their all to compete against others
in their class and get the score of a one. Though it may seem as if the band is only vying for gold plates, the band is truly after the bragging rights.
After bearing all of the trials, the band receives its trophies. The band reaps the benefits of the blood, sweat, and tears put into its

Alan Paredes: Metal Band
Metal music is something that is judged, and not a lot of opportunities come, especially getting heard. When an opportunity does come through, that's a
once in a lifetime chance that may never happen again. That's the opportunity that was given to Alan Paredes.
Alan is in two of the most known metal bands in Denver, Vale of Pnath, and IAMTHESHOTGUN. To be known is a big thing, especially being
amongst many other bands in Denver, which is over two–hundred bands, who are all trying to achieve the same thing. Vale of Pnath started in 2006,
and has fans all over the world, from Denver to Argentina, but still many people don't know about them. "Oh it's awesome. We have a bunch of fans
from all over, even places we've never even been to before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was getting better and better, and the people around him were helping him out. A month later, he was able to have his cast taken completely off,
and he was playing shows in Denver with both bands. During the tour, Vale of Pnath met a lot of people, including promoters. The promoters saw
how talented they are, and wanted to work with them. Doing so, they reached out to various sponsors so that the band could reach out to even more
fans all across the world. ESP Guitars was one of those sponsors that Vale of Pnath was shown to. Their guitars being very well known for their
quality and designs, they wanted to work with the band so they could promote each other. Many of the band members made play through videos to
their songs, and showed off their guitars, but also their songs, and most importantly, their talent. The videos were shared on Facebook, and on youtube,
and has more than one–thousand views. They are reaching their dreams, and Alan shows just why he not only deserves this spot, but that nobody
could ever replace him. He is one of the most talented musicians out there, that a lot of people who try to cover his parts, who have been playing for
years, can barely keep up with him; and he does what he does with no problem. Being given his opportunity, the band is getting more known by bigger
bands, and they are finally getting

Marching Band Members
An anonymous person once said, "You have to learn the importance of hard work before you can achieve your dreams." Every Band leader should
know this. Being a member of band is like being a member of a family that is bigger is much more than a normal family. As a band member you are
helping your section and peers become better marching band members. Color guard for instance,as Color Guard Caption I would help my fellow
members with marching, memorizing routines, and helping them be in time. As a band section leader I believe I can offer a lot. I believe I can offer

as repetitive as they were last year. Also as Guard Captain I will spend hours outside of school learning new moves to teach the guard. I will also help
make sure everyone is on time and with music accordingly. As Captain I will make sure I include more new moves into the routine to make it
challenging (but not too challenging), more complex, flows correctly, and isn't as repetitive. I will make sure we are focused and are doing what we

Northgate Marching Band
In high school I was a part of the Northgate Marching Band Drumline. I auditioned my freshman year and was put on top bass. At the time the line
was dominated by girls, so I felt very comfortable and made a lot of friends. During the winter season I auditioned for snare. In drumline, the snare
drum is the most exposed drum, therefore it is reserved for the more advanced players. I was told to go home and work on some things, and so I
did. I practiced for a few hours and the next day after practice I was told I was on snare. I marched snare from then on, freshman year all the way
through my senior year. Although this was a main goal of mine, it was not my only goal in the drumline. Inmarching band we had roles called Section

My sophomore year I tried out just to go through the process and be prepared, but my junior year I tried out for real. I was trying out as a minority.
I was the youngest junior on the line, now the only girl on the line, and I had been on snare the least amount of everyone else on snare. After a week
had gone by, we had our band banquet. During the banquet they would announce all of the new section leaders. They took us into the hall and I was
told I was the new section leader for the drumline. This role is held very high in the Northgate Marching Band, because if you hold this position, you
are a leader of the band. Now that I had the title I needed to accomplish one more thing. In drumline we have a center snare. The center snare is the
most advanced player on the line, they count off all the exercises and they are the person you listen to when playing. Our audition process was
intense, because again I was the one with the least experience on snare. I absorbed every piece of criticism I received and I applied every fix to better

Band Discourse Community Roles
It is eighth hour on a Tuesday, this means I have band today. I walk into the band room, and I see a handful of other students have already arrived and
are watching a video that is being played up on the starboard. They stand and watch as the Notre Dame marching band performs an intricate routine
during a college football game. A few others hustle around to get their instruments and get to their seats before the three minute allowance is up. I hear
random chit chat among friends and people beginning to tune their instruments as I gather my things and get into my seat. After everyone has settled
into their seats we all watch the screen as the marching band forms into the shapes of letters, logos, and even movie characters. Intrigued, we watch...

As a senior, I am one of three people who have a responsibility to help the newcomers learn and adapt to their new role. Even though we have a band

than not, it is us seniors of the community that take the initiative to help the freshmen to become more successful. If we did not do this job our
community as a whole would suffer. The shared goals of the community, to advance in learning newmusic, to play said music successfully, and to
entertain the audiences that attend our concerts, would not be accomplished if the newcomers were left to fend for themselves. Our community would
also not be fulfilling its purpose of adding variation to the sound of the band if we did not advance the newcomers in their

Band Concert Review
When I first arrived at Live on the Green I had never seen the venue or heard any of the bands who were performing. I didn't look up to see who
was performing in which slot I just thought whenever I get ready and get there is who I will see play. Luckily enough for me Anderson East
exceeded my expectations. I left Saturday around four, picked up my friend, and off we went. When we arrived we scanned our seating options.
People were scattered everywhere. Some on blankets and in chairs on the lawn, some were relaxing under shade of the trees at tables, and then there
were some who stood and bopped to the beat. We decided to grab some food, drink, and proceed to finding a nice spot to set our blanket. He connected

You didn't have to be too involved. You could just move about and do your thing and he would address the crowd occasionally to keep them
involved. Anderson had lovely stage performance. Always moving around and interacting with the rest of the band as well as the audience. He
had good dance moves in my opinion that went well with the groove of the music. You could hear a saxophone, drums, a trumpet, and two guitars
in this performance. His outfit was super trendy and modern. He engaged a relationship with the audience when he first stepped on stage and then
spread it out throughout the rest of his set, making sure to comment to us every now and again. The behavior of the audience affected my
experience by making me feel like I could really let lose. I was cheering for the band and completely enjoying myself. I was glad to have a friend
there but was also enjoying the random mingling. Even though this was my first time going to Live on the Green, the performance, location, and the
social setting really make me want to attend next year for the whole line up. I was very impressed that the city of Nashville made this available to the
public! It just goes to show what they are bringing into their lovely

Failure is not an option for me anymore. I have failed before of course. My failure taught me a great lesson that I will never forget again.
After freshman year of high school, I wanted to be in one of the top two bands in high school. There are three bands above the freshman band. It was
a huge goal for me at the time and I desperately wanted to make it into one of the top bands. Being in the top bands really mattered to me because I

I was at least hoping that I would get into the second highest band, but the lowest band? I looked at what I might have been doing wrong. I didn't
have a private teacher for bassoon and I didn't really practice all that much. I just relied on being okay and working hard in the classroom only.
After failing myself and staying in the bottom band after freshman band, I worked much harder to get into the top bands. I had a couple more
years, but I wanted to be in the top band before my senior year so I can prove to myself that I can do what I dream of doing. I had to change
everything I was doing to get to my dream. It worked out and I made it to the very top band my junior year. Also, the instrument I play is called a
bassoon, which I started studying freshman year. As you can see, after the first time I saw myself fail, I started working much harder for the thing I
knew I could do and accomplish. I started staying after school to practice my instrument everyday for at least an hour and I would focus much more
on what I was practicing. I also changed many things in my life. I found out that, working hard in just the classroom won't make me as successful as I

A Brief Note On The Nepalese Music Band
Nepalese Music Band: Nepathya
Nepathya is a music band that was formed in the early 1990s. In 1990, nine young boys started a band from beautiful city called Pokhara, Nepal,
which is now famous by the name "Nepathya". They were nine different people but came together to achieve a goal, met at Kathmandu during their
college and formed a "Nepathya". At first, they used to sing in the concert in the street and in the restaurant. As time passed by they began to broadcast
through radio. They started to begin famous among people. Later, in 1995 they released their first album named "Tal ko Pani" which was loved by the
whole country. After that, they continued their journey ofmusic and till date they released 15 albums. Among them, "Resham" is the most popular song
and also one of my best songs. In their struggling phase, the band only sang the folk song with the theme of nature and love, but as the time passed
they started singing the song based on patriotism, peace, and issue of the country. They started their career by singing the song that focuses on love
and nature because the type of song they used to sing mostly loved by the audience. They sang a song which is more oriented to the audience. At the
time of the civil war, people were concerned about their own and their families security. As the environment changed people changed the theme of the
song. The band member started to sing patriotism song as the effect of the civil war in the life of the common people. Through

Bands That Save: My Turning Point
I was alone. I was lost. I had no one. Literally everyone at school hated me. I always got hated no matter what I did. I had absolutely no self–confidence
whatsoever. I hated myself. When I was alone my thoughts would kill me, because the comments people blurted out actually hurt me. No one
understood me, and anyone I would try to talk to would tell me to stop complaining because I have much better than the kids in Africa, and I didn't
want to be a burden so I bottled it all up. Suddenly I started losing interest in things that I used to love. I was miserable...
One day I was on YouTube and I found a song, "A Prophecy" bythe band Asking Alexandria. I'll admit I wasn't into "hardcore" bands, and I didn't
really like it at first, but there was something about that song that just made me want to listen to it over and over again, I think the meaning behind
the song was what made me attracted to it at first, but soon I did end up liking that song a lot, so much so that I went and bought the album "Stand
Up And Scream", and the rest of the album was just as perfect as the first song I heard by them. Listening to Asking Alexandria would honestly always
make me happy in a way that nobody else could.
Soon I started discovering more bands, and songs. And then I came across the band Pierce The Veil, this band honestly changed my life so much. If I
was ever sad or down they would cheer me up instantly. Ever since Pierce The Veil came into my life, I've became a better person. I've

Band Camp Narrative
The piercing ring of alarm went off for the last time, waking everyone up an hour later than usual. Light quickly streamed into the jet–black cabin when
our chaperone turned on the small cabin's only lamp, "Wake up girls! It's the last day of band camp!" All the freshmen girls groaned and slowly
crawled out of bed. Quietly, everyone started getting their stuff together, so they could easily leave after the performance. No one had the energy to
talk in the morning because we were all worn out from the work we did the day before. Everyday we did 7 hours of marching, and 3 hours of music
practice. Yesterday was the hardest we ever worked because we had to be ready for the performance.

especially by three of them. This motivated me not to move even more. Luckily, pre–game started and the bees flew away. We began to march and I
started shaking from a mix of excitement and nervousness. This is what we were working for non–stop for the past week. It was finally time for all our
hard work to pay off. That excitement ended fairly quickly when we started playing the star spangled banner, and my arms felt like giving up, but I

The Importance Of Marching Band
What is Marching Band? Marching band is not what people think. It strains your body and takes a lot of hard work. An example of a practice would
be, when you get there you start out by getting into stretch block. While you are in stretch block, You might feel like you get harassed and annoyed by
the leadership. Then after you do that you go and tune with your particular section. Then, you go back to music warm up. Finally you to practice. The
most popular quote you hear, is when the Band director says one more time, it is not really one more time. Onto leadership.
There are many different leadership positions in band to make the band run smoothly. The positions are:Drum major, Band Captain, Lieutenant, Brass
/Woodwind Captain, Section Leader, and Librarian. The Drum Major is responsible for conducting the Raider Regiment in all rehearsals and
performances. They oversee uniform inspections, keeps time during breaks and transition time, and oversees cleanliness of facilities. They are the most
important part of leadership. The band Captain Oversees program operations and reports to the Band Director. The band captain supports Section
Captains in their responsibilities, they supervise events, reports damage to the Director, plans and conducts student leadership meetings with Director
oversight. They oversee program operations in the absence of a full–time Band Director. They basically would run the band if the Band direction left.

Rock Band Characteristics
When I was 15, my parents bought me a record player for Christmas to utilize for some vinyl I had purchased at local record shows or shops. When
they bought me the player, my taste in music had shifted more towards rock than anything else, so I was really excited to listen to some records
on it. I remember the first time I dropped the needle on the record and music started playing, and I instantly fell in love. I didn't think there would
be a huge difference between the sound of vinyl and anything else, but it was like speaking to someone in real life instead of over FaceTime. Now
that I was listening to vinyl more, I needed good bands to listen to, and I noticed certain things about some bands in particular while listening. Good
rock bands all share some common characteristics. First, rock bands require a high level of skill to be considered great. Led Zeppelin, for instance, had
four all–star musicians who shared amazing chemistry to produce very complex music. Many others would claim that each one of the members is
one of the best at what they do which makes them one of the best bands ever. Next, The Who were also very skilled with one of the best rhythm
sections (bass guitar and drums) in a rock band ever. This drove their music forward from the back, meaning insane guitar parts or masterful vocal
work weren't common practice for the already spectacular band. Lastly, The Eagles displayed their talents through singing, which every member of the
group could contribute while

Band Of Brothers
During the time of World War II, America fought to end the tyranny of Nazi Germany by using its most valuable tool, the Easy Company, 506th
Regiment, 101st Airborne. The author Stephen Ambrose catches a glimpse of what these heroic soldiers accomplished in his book Band of Brothers,
by providing readers with interviews of first hand encounters on the battlefields of Europe, from former paratroopers that served in the 506th
Regiment. Ambrose's book depicts how the spectacles of war create everlasting scars on soldiers mentally and physically, that never fully heal.
Ambrose admired his father, whom was a physician and served in the Navy during World War II. This influenced Ambrose to become like his farther,
but he later became passionate with history, receiving his Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin. Ambrose admired the history of war and wanted to
understand the thoughts and emotions that ran through the paratroopers' minds from Toccoa, where they trained for endless days under the command
of Lieutenant Sobel, to the last moments on November 30, 1945, where the 101st... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

boy bands, their career is essentially the identical way. The band One Direction, is a combination of five talented, handsome, young men who use their
good looks to their advantage, basically the same way the pretentious and self–gratifying parent does when they put their child 's video up on YouTube.

One Direction even brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "over–used love songs."
Although love songs are normally the topic for all artists, it's also the biggest in boy bands. One Direction started with a love song and is most likely
going to end with one too. In their newest, well–liked songs, "You and I," it is all about not having a typical relationship, and no one understanding
their love. The music video was pretty popular, even too many critics. The Australian production company "Oh Yea Wow" have accused One Direction
and their managers of "regurgitating" a video for Clubfeet's song "Everything You Wanted." In their song "Best Song Ever," (the music video even
broke the world record for most views in 24 hours) One Direction was once again accused of stealing a song. This time of The Who's track "Baba O'
Riley." When I say "over–used," I really mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs about love, when their audience is
typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be considered. On their song "Midnight Memories," it was also pointed out it has the
same similar structure as Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me." In addition, on their very first single "What Makes You Beautiful" (I bet
you can 't guess what it's about!), it's all about a girl not knowing what she's worth, and how everything about her makes her unique and beautiful. This
song was even accused of plagiarism of the song

Honor Band-Personal Narrative
I had been in band for about two years and today was the day Mr. Heggins would put us to the test that determined if he would let us try out for

Then it was time for the saxophones, first chair went first as always, that meant I had less time to freak out. Before I knew it, it was my turn. I was

Band Class
In life, the best thing to do is to march to the beat of my own drum. A great activity offered by Ridgeview Middle/High School (RMS and RHS)
school is the band class. First, it is hard work that is worth all of the effort put into it. Second, it is an overall fun and enjoyable class. Last, there is
always something new to happen in the band class. As can be seen, in my opinion, band is the best activity to do in school.
First of all, with all of the hard work, it will all be worth it in the long shot. People will admire and enjoy what the band has to offer. The band travels
to different cities to play and have fun in the process, such as eating at a restaurant, buying merchandise, etc... Finally, it is a good for the students in

Navy Band Proposal Essay
Navy Band Proposal: The significance and influence of a Military Band
This analysis will focus on the influence of the United States Navy Band. The Navy band has been around since 1925 gaining a wide range of
musical styles. The Navy Band will be playing at the Frauenthal Theater in downtown Muskegon at 7 pm. I will be analyzing emotional responses from
the audience, the process of coordinating the performance, and responses from the band members.
The United States Navy band performs over 1300 ceremonies and 300 concerts a year for various events, venues, and schools. I have arranged to meet
with the event coordinator, Heather Hanson, to give more insight into the reasoning of booking the band. I will ask questions regarding the financing
behind the concert, as well as what she thinks the benefits are of having the Navy Band perform. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I asked Heather why the event was free when a National band was performing at such a historic building. She explained to me that the Navy Band was
simply going to perform free. Sine there will also be high school students later in the show that will join the performers, the band felt charging to see
them would go against the message they wanted to send. They wanted their performance to symbolize honor for our Country through music, and
involving others, while making it as easy as possible to show that same honor through their attendance. I also asked the event coordinator is this the first
Military band that has performed at the Frauenthal, and if not, how was the attendance. She stated that the Frauenthal has had bands from the Army,
and Marines perform there and that both times attendance was between 50%–85%, being that the Army had the most attendance. She explained how
most of the attendees had some connection to the Military and most were between the ages of 33–65 years

We were this close to being stripped of our "Undefeated" title. The band sat there in the bleachers, stunned as the announcer pulled up the scores and

work, it would have been a shame if we did not conclude the season with a bang. The announcer raised her microphone and everything seemed to

Everyone knows who the band kids are. They see the band members marching under the Friday night lights and listen to their non–stop chatter about

become so involved. I only saw it as a chance to make friends. Yet, without my realizing it, I quickly became immersed in band. As the years went by, I
developed a love for band, the people in it, even the way it felt to perform. I was a shy person; I lived in a bubble of what was safe, what was

Personal Review: Marching Band
Band in general has always been a huge part of my life. Ever since sixth grade I have been dedicated to concert band. But in middle school it wasn't
anything life–changing. The life–changing part of band didn't happen until high school. Ninth grade was when I started Symphonic band, Marching
Band, and Pep Band. Symphonic Band was very straight–forward, we performed at many concerts throughout the year and at the end of the year we
were judged at our state–assessment, where every year we consistently got the highest rating of superior. Marching band was much more complicated
than Symphonic Band. It required commitment, and a lot of it. All of August, Monday through Friday was spent at the practice field, and if it was

It was more of a time for the most talented players to have fun, while being at the Varsity Basketball games. We'd play incredibly hard pieces and
make up our own stuff as we went along, because of the significantly smaller group size. Coming into junior year was when band became a lot more
challenging for me. I auditioned for my schools highest performing, highest rated band, Wind Ensemble; I was accepted into the ensemble with a high
audition score. Just like Marching Band and Symphonic Band, we would have a state–assessment to attend at the end of the year. The only difference
was the process of getting to state–assessment. To make us stand out, we always played the hardest possible grade of sheet music, which was a grade
six. This required countless hours of in–class rehearsals, as well as outside of class rehearsals if we felt like we really had to work on a particular part.
But even through all of this stress, we've never once come up short of getting a superior rating at state–assessment. Band is one thing that I know I'll
keep with me for my entire life, because it has been filled with many life lessons that I will always be able to apply to the real

Marching Band : The Portrayal Aspects Of Band Stereotypes
Marching band is a pretty exclusive group. If someone wanted to join, they would need to know how to play an instrument. Since marching band is
exclusive, the ads target a very specific group of people. Not just anyone is going to go out and buy a marching step guide or a tuner. Some of these
ads only apply to a subgroup within the band. The spinning prop, for example, is something that really only a flagline member would buy. I, a
Mellophone player, have absolutely no use for a spinning prop. The Marching Step guide uses language, such as 8–to–5 marching, to make it clear
what audience these ads are aimed at. Since the ads have such a specific audience, they are ads for things that people outside of this group would not
even consider. The use of specific language in the ads break the stereotype that most people have of marching bands by revealing the
behind–the–scenes aspects of marching bands. The first ad is for a tuner. Anyone with an instrument can have one of these; they don't have to be in
marching band. The ad says "directors may be struggling to keep their musicians in tune may be interested in the StroboClipHD," so it is clear that
the target audience is people in the band or music directors (Peterson Strobe Tuners). By saying that they are excluding people who play instruments
as a personal hobby. Most people who play instruments as a hobby probably don't want to pay $50 for a tuner. Some bands won't even pay $50 for a
tuner. The only bands or people that

One leadership strengths I possess is that I am a very good public speaker and am able to easily address a group of people whether it is a big or small

Joining Band Essay
The Best Decision I ever made: Joining Band
Five years ago, I was introduced to the subject of band by my best friend and that introduction sowed the seed to join. The next decision I faced was
the important choice of an instrument, which was not very hard for me. I chose the clarinet because it was the only one that responded with a
grateful sound. Without my license and parents working late at night, I had to search for a ride since I assumed my friend, who attended band on a
different day, could take me. Getting up an hour earlier than most students proved to be a struggle for me, but as time went on it became less
challenging. Joining band was and is more than a musical exercise for me; it equates unity with harmony, personal growth with rhythm, and benefits
with melody on the larger playing field of life.
Harmony is defined as the combination of sounds to produce chords which can be compared to the coming together first of my instrument and me and
the two of us with the band. My clarinet and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, band practice allows me the freedom to follow my own inclinations just as much as I also have to follow the drum major. Reconciling the

band requires a substantial time investment and is rather demanding. Therefore, I had to learn to be organized and to prioritize wisely to meet all the
scheduling details ranging from school, homework, my job, science Olympiad, band practice, friendships, and many more. As a result of my interest
and passion for this extracurricular activity, my time management skills and self–discipline have greatly improved. I am evermore in step with the

A number of sources repeatedly claim that music is essential to a child's growth, and that it boosts math and social skills (CNN). However, Fayette

You also have to take props, permission to usemusic, and uniform cleaning into consideration. If you add those to the cost, it totals to around $400,000
per year. That's an enormous amount to pay with next to no help from the district, which in turn bumps up annual band payments for each family. At
Lafayette High School, the cost is $1,000 per year per student. This adds even more money to pay with school costs, and can put stress on families'
economy. In fact, this year at Lafayette, some families couldn't pay their fees, and we are now unable to attend a major competition we had planned

This put a huge damper on the band. The competition that we cancelled was going to be the biggest part of the year, where we got to take tour buses

Alt-Rock Grunge Band: The 1975
"The 1975" is an alt–rock grunge band formed in 2002 by Matthew Healy, current frontman. The band consists of four members: Matty as guitarist and
lead singer, Adam Hann as rhythmic guitarist, Ross Macdonald as bassist, and George Daniel as drummer. They met each other at school as young
teenagers in Manchester, England. Matty, being only thirteen at the time, had lofty aspirations to be alongside his idol Michael Jackson in fame. The
juvenile group recorded YouTube videos in their basements, and did mere gigs at local bars. They introduced themselves by covering aged punk songs,
but soon began writing their own content (Kurr).

They spend their every waking moment with each other. Even without the inclusion of how small tour buses are, the four are inseparable. George
Daniel and Matty have the strongest connection within the band. They've lived together, they write together, and they've devised all of this madness
together. Speculations of the two dating have been made continually, but have not been confirmed or denied (The 1975).
Practice is an obsession of the band. In Healy's mind, good is not enough. The group is perpetually doing everything they can to improve the band
from late night practices, to even ignoring their management. "They've been here since Sunday night. I tried to tell them to go away. They don't care."
A tour manager spoke about the band's excessive rehearsals. Providing for their fans is their source of happiness and without being nearly perfect, they
will not settle for any less (Garvey).
The 1975 is an eccentric band. Not only are they unpredictable, but they change from song to song. Each song to the men is like a piece of art. They
utilize their time wisely, capturing a feel and adding poetic lyrics to tell a story. George and Matty put their critiques together and make everything

The Benefits Of Marching Band
Many people can't see the benefits obtained by being in marching band. If one's social life isn't very strong, and they aren't very extroverted, marching
band is a great solution. My band, the Deltona High School Blue Brigade, greatly encouraged bonding among band members because band is a family,
not just a music group. Marching band is also a sport. It's a team effort, requiring a lot of physical exertion, and it gives a sense of competition.
Marching band also teaches some hierarchy, which is a useful thing to know in the workforce. Another important aspect of band is that it's a really
good experience. It may be stressful at times, but it is definitely worth it. Having been in band for seven years, I can confirm all of this.
Because I have ADHD and Asperger Syndrome, I find it very hard to speak out and socialize. But since I was in marching band inhigh school, I found
that I was more social. People aren't supposed to talk in the middle of rehearsal, but that didn't stop the members of my band from bonding outside
of practice time. Band definitely changed the life of a friend of mine. When I first met him in middle school, he was so shy, he was virtually silent.
Thanks to his experience in band, he now often speaks his mind. Marching band can help many people become more social. After all, band isn't just a
group of people who play music. Band is a family.

Riley." When I say "over–used," I honestly mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs about love, when their audience
is typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be considered. On their song "Midnight Memories," it was also pointed out it has the
same similar structure as Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me." In addition, on their very first single "What Makes You Beautiful" (I bet you
can 't guess what it's about!), it's all about a girl not knowing what she's worth, and how everything about her creates her uniqueness and beauty. This

Concert Band Vs Marching Band Essay
Sometimes, a talent is a blessing. However, it can also bring a lifetime of toil.
Both in middle school and high school, I stayed in the elective Band. There exist two types of bands in the school: Concert Band and Marching Band.
In Concert Band, you choose and play an instrument. Based on which one you play, you could receive the melodic material or the accompaniment.
Marching Band, however, has elevated difficulty by forcing you to march and play simultaneously. The marching instruments could be the same

Marching Band Strengths

  • 1. Marching Band Strengths 1.) What are three of your strengths that will help to set you apart from other candidates seeking this position? I think that my strongest strength this time around is my experience. After three years of varsity marching band, I feel like I have the ability to guide the incoming freshmen, along with the underclassmen and fellow seniors to become better marchers. Another thing that I have is that I can relate to the trombone section. I know more than anyone that the trombone section can get quite detracted at times, myself included, but since I've matured but still have fun with them, a feel like they will be more inclined to listen to me when I say it's time to focus up compared to the times when its okay to be a little more lax. The final strength that I have is my playing and memorizing. My freshman year was hard because I didn't know my music as well as the seniors, and kinda learned it from hearing them play it. This also works as a confirmation to people that are playing the music, because if it's the same then they know that they're playing it right as well. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Even though I got much better at staying focused over the course of last years marching band season, I still have a lot of room to improve. The second weakness is the lack of control that I have on the section at times. The only way I can change this is by being a better role model all the time, instead of demanding my fellow section to be good even though I'm not all the time. 3.) • 2. Reflective Essay: Band Analysis I have been a fan of bands. It is not because of their music ability, but because of the people character. I have watched bands like Florida Agriculture& mechanic University, Butler University, Arizona State University, and Hampton University. The one thing I see in all of these bands and many more is the how much their care about each other. They constantly help each other as if that was their family. Then as they display their show you see their workmanship. How much they put into it, and care to make sure they are perfect. Something you do not see in other groups. I played football, basketball, and other sports, but none of those teams were close as a band. Then when I joined the 3rd grade band, and all the things I learned. It was not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My friends and I would miss our last class of the day because of band. We would run down to the band room and set up for that day practice. It felt like it was a different world. Something that was different from school and life. Seating in our sets waiting to play the piece in front of us. The rush of being there was the best. Seating next to your friends and playing an instrument we was able to choice because we wanted to play it. My friends and I loved our instrument. The instrument of a reflection of us, describing our personality and character. We all loved the band. We loved makingmusic. In our school, the classes was separated by musical talent. So, my friends and I wanted the school to know the band is the best students in the school. We were better than the class of kids in orchestra, the class of kids in choir, and the class of kids who did not choose a musical group. We were better than them on the playgrounds and in our class grade, but we want to better in than them in performance nights. When the band hit the stage everyone will know that we were the best. The other musical groups are subpar, and we were the best thing you would ever ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Rock Music Band: The Who Tamsy Leverton 7 Language Arts 4 Jan–15–15 The Who Do you know who the Who are? If you do that's awesome, but if you don't then ask your parents. In the meantime, read this. The Who is known as one of the first very successful bands in the style of punk rock music and produced the first rock opera Tommy but there were struggles along the way. Each of the four artists had a different way of getting interested and staying in music. Pete Townshend had a musical family. He was born into a family that listened to rock and all sorts of different music. His parents were very musical too. Pete's mom was a singer and his father was a professional sax player. In the time between 1969 and 1971 he had already had recorded three albums. Rodger too was doing well with the split up, his album had gotten 5th top album in the UK and 50th in the U.S. John was more productive although none of his albums were in the UK; they were still on the American charts. Also while he was withthe Who he had released five albums by himself. At the Live Aid the Who came back together for one last gig after Keith's death but during that gig everyone was happy and it felt good being back together, the split was over (Flynn, ... • 4. Essay On Marching Band My junior year marching season had officially come to a close. The time arrived for the now former drum major to aid in the decision of who would be his successor. Starting with the day I picked up an instrument for the very first time, music has always been an important part of my life. After the date for the interviews were announced, I practiced by asking myself a couple questions that I thought might be asked of me and prepared my answers; I made sure that they were "perfect" or at the very least expressed my interest in the position. The day of interviewing had come and gone. I felt pretty confident with the answers that I had given. Now, I just needed to survive the hard part: waiting. "The three of you that tried out for the drum major position, could you meet me out in the hall?" announced the band director. My whole entire body froze as soon as the words left the director's lips. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The director continued on and on about how hard the process was and how she wished that position could go to all of us. "The new drum major for next year's marching season is...," she paused. The name she announced was not my own. This was not the first time I heard a "no", but it sure felt like it. I instantly felt sick to my stomach. I could feel this all too familiar feeling of my face beginning to heat, just as it did before tears were about to fall. I did not want to cry, at least not here, not in front of everyone. Crying would only fuel the numerous apologies and the reassuring words that at the moment, I did not want to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Upperman High School Band Analysis The band is in the stadium. The announcer calls "Upperman High School" jarring each ear with anxiety. The band is called to attention in preparation for the score call. The band stands at attention with each drop of sweat intensifying the setting. Rome wasn't built in a day. The members of the band spend weeks or even months of preparation for this moment. The key to their preparation is their band area where they utilize the band room, the practice field, and the trophies. What they do in this band territory will now decide the next ten seconds of their lives. The band room is the center of the band. In the band room, the band practices its music for concert band and, occasionally, marching band. The band also meets here at the beginning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The trophies are the color of gold, and they gleam to gain attention. These feathers in the band's cap have the ratings and rankings from the competition that they were gained from. Whether it's a good score or a bad score, the golden shimmer attracts the sight of anyone nearby. If it's a good score, the trophy says, "Good job! Keep it up." But if it's a bad score, the trophy says, "You better step it up if you want to do better next weekend." The trophies are placed right above the band lockers so that the band sees its motivation every time an instrument is taken out. Moreover, the trophies showcase all of the toil that the band has endured. Each trophy shows the score and ranking of a competition. Scores are on a scale of one to five with one being the best. Each competition has many classes with multiple bands. Bands bring their all to compete against others in their class and get the score of a one. Though it may seem as if the band is only vying for gold plates, the band is truly after the bragging rights. After bearing all of the trials, the band receives its trophies. • 6. Alan Paredes: Metal Band Metal music is something that is judged, and not a lot of opportunities come, especially getting heard. When an opportunity does come through, that's a once in a lifetime chance that may never happen again. That's the opportunity that was given to Alan Paredes. Alan is in two of the most known metal bands in Denver, Vale of Pnath, and IAMTHESHOTGUN. To be known is a big thing, especially being amongst many other bands in Denver, which is over two–hundred bands, who are all trying to achieve the same thing. Vale of Pnath started in 2006, and has fans all over the world, from Denver to Argentina, but still many people don't know about them. "Oh it's awesome. We have a bunch of fans from all over, even places we've never even been to before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was getting better and better, and the people around him were helping him out. A month later, he was able to have his cast taken completely off, and he was playing shows in Denver with both bands. During the tour, Vale of Pnath met a lot of people, including promoters. The promoters saw how talented they are, and wanted to work with them. Doing so, they reached out to various sponsors so that the band could reach out to even more fans all across the world. ESP Guitars was one of those sponsors that Vale of Pnath was shown to. Their guitars being very well known for their quality and designs, they wanted to work with the band so they could promote each other. Many of the band members made play through videos to their songs, and showed off their guitars, but also their songs, and most importantly, their talent. The videos were shared on Facebook, and on youtube, and has more than one–thousand views. They are reaching their dreams, and Alan shows just why he not only deserves this spot, but that nobody could ever replace him. He is one of the most talented musicians out there, that a lot of people who try to cover his parts, who have been playing for years, can barely keep up with him; and he does what he does with no problem. Being given his opportunity, the band is getting more known by bigger bands, and they are finally getting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Marching Band Members An anonymous person once said, "You have to learn the importance of hard work before you can achieve your dreams." Every Band leader should know this. Being a member of band is like being a member of a family that is bigger is much more than a normal family. As a band member you are helping your section and peers become better marching band members. Color guard for instance,as Color Guard Caption I would help my fellow members with marching, memorizing routines, and helping them be in time. As a band section leader I believe I can offer a lot. I believe I can offer help writing complex routines and help organize the routine, help organize more group activities, and help make sure every person feels comfortable and safe in the environment they are being exposed to.... As a Captain I will help the Color Guard Coach write the routines to where they are not repetitive. Along with that I hope to be able to help make the moves flow and again not as repetitive as they were last year. Also as Guard Captain I will spend hours outside of school learning new moves to teach the guard. I will also help make sure everyone is on time and with music accordingly. As Captain I will make sure I include more new moves into the routine to make it challenging (but not too challenging), more complex, flows correctly, and isn't as repetitive. • 8. Northgate Marching Band In high school I was a part of the Northgate Marching Band Drumline. I auditioned my freshman year and was put on top bass. At the time the line was dominated by girls, so I felt very comfortable and made a lot of friends. During the winter season I auditioned for snare. In drumline, the snare drum is the most exposed drum, therefore it is reserved for the more advanced players. I was told to go home and work on some things, and so I did. I practiced for a few hours and the next day after practice I was told I was on snare. I marched snare from then on, freshman year all the way through my senior year. Although this was a main goal of mine, it was not my only goal in the drumline. Inmarching band we had roles called Section Leaders. A section... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My sophomore year I tried out just to go through the process and be prepared, but my junior year I tried out for real. I was trying out as a minority. I was the youngest junior on the line, now the only girl on the line, and I had been on snare the least amount of everyone else on snare. After a week had gone by, we had our band banquet. During the banquet they would announce all of the new section leaders. They took us into the hall and I was told I was the new section leader for the drumline. This role is held very high in the Northgate Marching Band, because if you hold this position, you are a leader of the band. Now that I had the title I needed to accomplish one more thing. In drumline we have a center snare. The center snare is the most advanced player on the line, they count off all the exercises and they are the person you listen to when playing. Our audition process was intense, because again I was the one with the least experience on snare. I absorbed every piece of criticism I received and I applied every fix to better myself as a ... I walk into the band room, and I see a handful of other students have already arrived and are watching a video that is being played up on the starboard. They stand and watch as the Notre Dame marching band performs an intricate routine during a college football game. A few others hustle around to get their instruments and get to their seats before the three minute allowance is up. I hear random chit chat among friends and people beginning to tune their instruments as I gather my things and get into my seat. More times than not, it is us seniors of the community that take the initiative to help the freshmen to become more successful. If we did not do this job our community as a whole would suffer. The shared goals of the community, to advance in learning newmusic, to play said music successfully, and to entertain the audiences that attend our concerts, would not be accomplished if the newcomers were left to fend for themselves. • 10. Band Concert Review When I first arrived at Live on the Green I had never seen the venue or heard any of the bands who were performing. I didn't look up to see who was performing in which slot I just thought whenever I get ready and get there is who I will see play. Luckily enough for me Anderson East exceeded my expectations. I left Saturday around four, picked up my friend, and off we went. When we arrived we scanned our seating options. People were scattered everywhere. Some on blankets and in chairs on the lawn, some were relaxing under shade of the trees at tables, and then there were some who stood and bopped to the beat. We decided to grab some food, drink, and proceed to finding a nice spot to set our blanket. He connected with his audience an appropriate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You didn't have to be too involved. You could just move about and do your thing and he would address the crowd occasionally to keep them involved. Anderson had lovely stage performance. Always moving around and interacting with the rest of the band as well as the audience. He had good dance moves in my opinion that went well with the groove of the music. You could hear a saxophone, drums, a trumpet, and two guitars in this performance. His outfit was super trendy and modern. He engaged a relationship with the audience when he first stepped on stage and then spread it out throughout the rest of his set, making sure to comment to us every now and again. The behavior of the audience affected my experience by making me feel like I could really let lose. I was cheering for the band and completely enjoying myself. I was glad to have a friend there but was also enjoying the random mingling. Even though this was my first time going to Live on the Green, the performance, location, and the social setting really make me want to attend next year for the whole line up. I was very impressed that the city of Nashville made this available to the public! It just goes to show what they are bringing into their lovely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was in the band every year and I loved it.I have made some of my dreams come true through pure hard work. Failure is not an option for me anymore. I have failed before of course. My failure taught me a great lesson that I will never forget again. After freshman year of high school, I wanted to be in one of the top two bands in high school. There are three bands above the freshman band. It was a huge goal for me at the time and I desperately wanted to make it into one of the top bands. I didn't have a private teacher for bassoon and I didn't really practice all that much. I just relied on being okay and working hard in the classroom only. After failing myself and staying in the bottom band after freshman band, I worked much harder to get into the top bands. I had a couple more years, but I wanted to be in the top band before my senior year so I can prove to myself that I can do what I dream of doing. I had to change everything I was doing to get to my dream. It worked out and I made it to the very top band my junior year. Also, the instrument I play is called a bassoon, which I started studying freshman year. As you can see, after the first time I saw myself fail, I started working much harder for the thing I knew I could do and accomplish. I started staying after school to practice my instrument everyday for at least an hour and I would focus much more on what I was practicing. I also changed many things in my life. Among them, "Resham" is the most popular song and also one of my best songs. In their struggling phase, the band only sang the folk song with the theme of nature and love, but as the time passed they started singing the song based on patriotism, peace, and issue of the country. They started their career by singing the song that focuses on love and nature because the type of song they used to sing mostly loved by the audience. • 13. Bands That Save: My Turning Point I was alone. I was lost. I had no one. Literally everyone at school hated me. I always got hated no matter what I did. I had absolutely no self–confidence whatsoever. I hated myself. When I was alone my thoughts would kill me, because the comments people blurted out actually hurt me. No one understood me, and anyone I would try to talk to would tell me to stop complaining because I have much better than the kids in Africa, and I didn't want to be a burden so I bottled it all up. Suddenly I started losing interest in things that I used to love. I was miserable... One day I was on YouTube and I found a song, "A Prophecy" bythe band Asking Alexandria. I'll admit I wasn't into "hardcore" bands, and I didn't really like it at first, but there was something about that song that just made me want to listen to it over and over again, I think the meaning behind the song was what made me attracted to it at first, but soon I did end up liking that song a lot, so much so that I went and bought the album "Stand Up And Scream", and the rest of the album was just as perfect as the first song I heard by them. Listening to Asking Alexandria would honestly always make me happy in a way that nobody else could. Soon I started discovering more bands, and songs. And then I came across the band Pierce The Veil, this band honestly changed my life so much. If I was ever sad or down they would cheer me up instantly. Light quickly streamed into the jet–black cabin when our chaperone turned on the small cabin's only lamp, "Wake up girls! It's the last day of band camp!" All the freshmen girls groaned and slowly crawled out of bed. Quietly, everyone started getting their stuff together, so they could easily leave after the performance. No one had the energy to talk in the morning because we were all worn out from the work we did the day before. Everyday we did 7 hours of marching, and 3 hours of music practice. I was doing really well until suddenly I felt something crawling on my leg as I was standing like a rock. Slowly I looked down, trying not to move my head and saw three skinny yellow bees crawling around on my leg. My heart started racing, I didn't want to get stung for the 5th time this week, especially by three of them. This motivated me not to move even more. Luckily, pre–game started and the bees flew away. We began to march and I started shaking from a mix of excitement and nervousness. This is what we were working for non–stop for the past week. It was finally time for all our hard work to pay off. That excitement ended fairly quickly when we started playing the star spangled banner, and my arms felt like giving up, but I knew I couldn't stop. As pre–game was coming to an end all I could think about was how thirsty I was, and that my arms were dead. I tried to focus on my marching to ignore the heat and pain the best I could. After what felt like 10 minutes, the band was able to take a quick break as our band director explained the show to the parents. This was the first drink break this practice, so I was thankful to finally quench my thirst. The band all stumbled over to the Gatorade table. • 15. The Importance Of Marching Band What is Marching Band? Marching band is not what people think. It strains your body and takes a lot of hard work. An example of a practice would be, when you get there you start out by getting into stretch block. While you are in stretch block, You might feel like you get harassed and annoyed by the leadership. Then after you do that you go and tune with your particular section. Then, you go back to music warm up. Finally you to practice. The most popular quote you hear, is when the Band director says one more time, it is not really one more time. Onto leadership. There are many different leadership positions in band to make the band run smoothly. The positions are:Drum major, Band Captain, Lieutenant, Brass /Woodwind Captain, Section Leader, and Librarian. The Drum Major is responsible for conducting the Raider Regiment in all rehearsals and performances. They oversee uniform inspections, keeps time during breaks and transition time, and oversees cleanliness of facilities. They are the most important part of leadership. The band Captain Oversees program operations and reports to the Band Director. The band captain supports Section Captains in their responsibilities, they supervise events, reports damage to the Director, plans and conducts student leadership meetings with Director oversight. They oversee program operations in the absence of a full–time Band Director. They basically would run the band if the Band direction left. The lieutenant is the assistant ... • 16. Rock Band Characteristics When I was 15, my parents bought me a record player for Christmas to utilize for some vinyl I had purchased at local record shows or shops. When they bought me the player, my taste in music had shifted more towards rock than anything else, so I was really excited to listen to some records on it. I remember the first time I dropped the needle on the record and music started playing, and I instantly fell in love. I didn't think there would be a huge difference between the sound of vinyl and anything else, but it was like speaking to someone in real life instead of over FaceTime. Now that I was listening to vinyl more, I needed good bands to listen to, and I noticed certain things about some bands in particular while listening. Good rock bands all share some common characteristics. First, rock bands require a high level of skill to be considered great. Led Zeppelin, for instance, had four all–star musicians who shared amazing chemistry to produce very complex music. Many others would claim that each one of the members is one of the best at what they do which makes them one of the best bands ever. Next, The Who were also very skilled with one of the best rhythm sections (bass guitar and drums) in a rock band ever. This drove their music forward from the back, meaning insane guitar parts or masterful vocal work weren't common practice for the already spectacular band. Lastly, The Eagles displayed their talents through singing, which every member of the group could contribute while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The author Stephen Ambrose catches a glimpse of what these heroic soldiers accomplished in his book Band of Brothers, by providing readers with interviews of first hand encounters on the battlefields of Europe, from former paratroopers that served in the 506th Regiment. Ambrose's book depicts how the spectacles of war create everlasting scars on soldiers mentally and physically, that never fully heal. Ambrose admired his father, whom was a physician and served in the Navy during World War II. This influenced Ambrose to become like his farther, but he later became passionate with history, receiving his Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin. Ambrose admired the history of war and wanted to understand the thoughts and emotions that ran through the paratroopers' minds from Toccoa, where they trained for endless days under the command of Lieutenant Sobel, to the last moments on November 30, 1945, where the 101st... One Direction even brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "over–used love songs." Although love songs are normally the topic for all artists, it's also the biggest in boy bands. One Direction started with a love song and is most likely going to end with one too. In their newest, well–liked songs, "You and I," it is all about not having a typical relationship, and no one understanding their love. The music video was pretty popular, even too many critics. The Australian production company "Oh Yea Wow" have accused One Direction and their managers of "regurgitating" a video for Clubfeet's song "Everything You Wanted." In their song "Best Song Ever," (the music video even broke the world record for most views in 24 hours) One Direction was once again accused of stealing a song. This time of The Who's track "Baba O' Riley." When I say "over–used," I really mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs about love, when their audience is typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be considered. • 28. Marching Band : The Portrayal Aspects Of Band Stereotypes Marching band is a pretty exclusive group. If someone wanted to join, they would need to know how to play an instrument. Since marching band is exclusive, the ads target a very specific group of people. Not just anyone is going to go out and buy a marching step guide or a tuner. Some of these ads only apply to a subgroup within the band. The spinning prop, for example, is something that really only a flagline member would buy. I, a Mellophone player, have absolutely no use for a spinning prop. The Marching Step guide uses language, such as 8–to–5 marching, to make it clear what audience these ads are aimed at. Since the ads have such a specific audience, they are ads for things that people outside of this group would not even consider. The use of specific language in the ads break the stereotype that most people have of marching bands by revealing the behind–the–scenes aspects of marching bands. The first ad is for a tuner. Anyone with an instrument can have one of these; they don't have to be in marching band. The ad says "directors may be struggling to keep their musicians in tune may be interested in the StroboClipHD," so it is clear that the target audience is people in the band or music directors (Peterson Strobe Tuners). Getting up before you can see the sun, and staying for practices after it went down. As much as I hate the early mornings, I can't wait for marching band season. Wearing this heavy ... • 33. Alt-Rock Grunge Band: The 1975 "The 1975" is an alt–rock grunge band formed in 2002 by Matthew Healy, current frontman. The band consists of four members: Matty as guitarist and lead singer, Adam Hann as rhythmic guitarist, Ross Macdonald as bassist, and George Daniel as drummer. They met each other at school as young teenagers in Manchester, England. Matty, being only thirteen at the time, had lofty aspirations to be alongside his idol Michael Jackson in fame. The juvenile group recorded YouTube videos in their basements, and did mere gigs at local bars. They introduced themselves by covering aged punk songs, but soon began writing their own content (Kurr). It wasn't until 2012 that the band found recognition. They released their first EP, Facedown, on an indie record... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They spend their every waking moment with each other. Even without the inclusion of how small tour buses are, the four are inseparable. George Daniel and Matty have the strongest connection within the band. They've lived together, they write together, and they've devised all of this madness together. Speculations of the two dating have been made continually, but have not been confirmed or denied (The 1975). Practice is an obsession of the band. In Healy's mind, good is not enough. The group is perpetually doing everything they can to improve the band from late night practices, to even ignoring their management. "They've been here since Sunday night. I tried to tell them to go away. They don't care." A tour manager spoke about the band's excessive rehearsals. Providing for their fans is their source of happiness and without being nearly perfect, they will not settle for any less (Garvey). The 1975 is an eccentric band. Not only are they unpredictable, but they change from song to song. Each song to the men is like a piece of art. They utilize their time wisely, capturing a feel and adding poetic lyrics to tell a story. George and Matty put their critiques together and make everything happen. The controversial, fourteen year old band is not only problematic, but what will be put in history as glamourous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. The Benefits Of Marching Band Many people can't see the benefits obtained by being in marching band. If one's social life isn't very strong, and they aren't very extroverted, marching band is a great solution. My band, the Deltona High School Blue Brigade, greatly encouraged bonding among band members because band is a family, not just a music group. Marching band is also a sport. It's a team effort, requiring a lot of physical exertion, and it gives a sense of competition. Marching band also teaches some hierarchy, which is a useful thing to know in the workforce. Another important aspect of band is that it's a really good experience. It may be stressful at times, but it is definitely worth it. Having been in band for seven years, I can confirm all of this. Because I have ADHD and Asperger Syndrome, I find it very hard to speak out and socialize. But since I was in marching band inhigh school, I found that I was more social. People aren't supposed to talk in the middle of rehearsal, but that didn't stop the members of my band from bonding outside of practice time. Band definitely changed the life of a friend of mine. When I first met him in middle school, he was so shy, he was virtually silent. Thanks to his experience in band, he now often speaks his mind. Marching band can help many people become more social. After all, band isn't just a group of people who play music. Band is a family. A team sport includes two things: physical exertion and team effort. Marching band is both of these things. It's ... • 37. The Movie ' The Band One Direction ' Have you ever found yourself in awe at the videos of the three–year–old singing "Rudolph the Red–Nosed Reindeer"? It doesn 't help either, that the little kid is so cute and chubby you just want to pinch his or her cheeks and talk to him or her in Barney mode. Well, today with one of the biggest boy bands, their career is essentially the identical way. The band One Direction, is a combination of five talented, handsome, young men who use their favorable looks to their advantage; basically the same way the pretentious and self–gratifying parent does when they put their child 's video up on YouTube. The boys themselves; Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik are anything but ordinary personality wise. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This time of The Who's track "Baba O' Riley." When I say "over–used," I honestly mean "over used." I 've also never understood why they write these songs about love, when their audience is typically twelve–year old girls; the age love shouldn 't even be considered. On their song "Midnight Memories," it was also pointed out it has the same similar structure as Def Leppard's song "Pour Some Sugar On Me." In addition, on their very first single "What Makes You Beautiful" (I bet you can 't guess what it's about!), it's all about a girl not knowing what she's worth, and how everything about her creates her uniqueness and beauty. This song was even accused of plagiarism ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Blue Band Marching Band Playing with the Blue Band– Marching Band's Penn State Trip Oley Pride rings fiercely as twelve bands compete to stand out, and to impress Penn State's Blue Band with their abilities. On the ****** of September, the Oley Valley High School band had the privilege to be included in the Penn State Band Jam– something only twelve bands out of the state have the ability to do. • 39. Concert Band Vs Marching Band Essay Sometimes, a talent is a blessing. The marching instruments could be the same instrument, an alternate form of the instrument, or another instrument if you play a concert instrument which you cannot march. I play an instrument called the tuba which almost always has the bass line, usually plays longer notes than the rest of the band, and gets an occasional solo by a fluke While on a family trip in the summer after 7th grade, I traveled to China for a purpose to tour the country's largest monuments. I now felt like I was enslaved into the sousaphone and that the only way out was ending my life. The following Thursday was the day I finally mentioned of a possibility of committing suicide because I felt it would get me out of playing sousaphone.
