Q3. How did you use media
technologies in the construction and
research, planning and evaluation
stages?
Outline
O During the process of creating our media

products, music video and ancillary products
we had to use a range of technological in
order to broaden the design and look of our
products, enhance the quality of our work
and also to present our research and
promote the task at hand.
Technologies Used
During the process of
construction and research,
planning and evaluation I’ve
used a range of online
applications as well as
software applications found on
the Apple Mac Pro.
Online applications such as
Blogger, Prezi, Slideshare,
Glogster & Photobucket was
used to present a large
amount of information in a
creative and attractive way.
Software applications such as
Camtasia, Photoshop Elements & Final Cut Pro was used in order to edit and structure videos
and images, these include the final music video, digipack and advertisement. Sites such as
Google, YouTube & Vimeo were used for research purposes to give me inspiration for my own
products. Instagram, Twitter & Facebook were used to reach our target audience.
Video Camera
When it came to recording
our music video we opted
NOT to use the colleges’
video camera (JVC).

We opted to use a Canon video camera supplied by Ryan. This decision
was purely down to image quality and sharpness. Plus the use of glass
lenses allowed for the use of depth of field for more artistic freedom.
In order to keep our work saved and safe we would save directly onto a
memory card and then transfer it onto a mounted hard-drive which we
would need in order the use the software application, Final Cut Pro.
Editing
O Final Cut Pro & Photoshop Elements were the

2 software applications I used in order to edit
and design my music video and ancillary
products. No visual effects were added to the
images seen in either the music video or
ancillary products.
O There is a evident visual change from my
draft draw out of my ancillary products to the
final completed products.
Keeping in
Touch with
our audience

O In order to keep in touch with our target

audience and keep them
updated/posted on our movement &
what we were going to do and where
we going to film next, we used social
networking networks such as
Instagram, Facebook & Twitter.

O Apart from us posting pictures and

statuses directly to these social
networks, it also allowed our target
audience to send messages and post
on our pictures directly so we can read.

O This helped us during our research

period as we could input audience
feedback directly into our work
immediately.

O During the process I learnt that the

  • 1. Q3. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
  • 2. Outline O During the process of creating our media products, music video and ancillary products we had to use a range of technological in order to broaden the design and look of our products, enhance the quality of our work and also to present our research and promote the task at hand.
  • 3. Technologies Used During the process of construction and research, planning and evaluation I’ve used a range of online applications as well as software applications found on the Apple Mac Pro. Online applications such as Blogger, Prezi, Slideshare, Glogster & Photobucket was used to present a large amount of information in a creative and attractive way. Software applications such as Camtasia, Photoshop Elements & Final Cut Pro was used in order to edit and structure videos and images, these include the final music video, digipack and advertisement. Sites such as Google, YouTube & Vimeo were used for research purposes to give me inspiration for my own products. Instagram, Twitter & Facebook were used to reach our target audience.
  • 4. Video Camera When it came to recording our music video we opted NOT to use the colleges’ video camera (JVC). We opted to use a Canon video camera supplied by Ryan. This decision was purely down to image quality and sharpness. Plus the use of glass lenses allowed for the use of depth of field for more artistic freedom. In order to keep our work saved and safe we would save directly onto a memory card and then transfer it onto a mounted hard-drive which we would need in order the use the software application, Final Cut Pro.
  • 5. Editing O Final Cut Pro & Photoshop Elements were the 2 software applications I used in order to edit and design my music video and ancillary products. No visual effects were added to the images seen in either the music video or ancillary products. O There is a evident visual change from my draft draw out of my ancillary products to the final completed products.

Keeping in Touch with our audience O In order to keep in touch with our target audience and keep them updated/posted on our movement & what we were going to do and where we going to film next, we used social networking networks such as Instagram, Facebook & Twitter. O Apart from us posting pictures and statuses directly to these social networks, it also allowed our target audience to send messages and post on our pictures directly so we can read. O This helped us during our research period as we could input audience feedback directly into our work immediately. O During the process I learnt that the feedback given from the target audience is most impor tant as they know what to expect and see in a music video of that genre.
