Comparison Of University Vs. Liberty University
Even though Liberty and Regent University may have similar belief systems in terms of religion, the
class and campus sizes are different. Liberty is a much larger university, but the teachers are less
personable. According to Liberty University's central website, Liberty's campus covers more than
7,000 acres (Liberty Liberty University). I find it important to attend a university that has a large
campus enough campus that students can get away and have space to study or to think if needed.
The student to professor ratio at Liberty University for residential undergraduates is 24 to 1 (Liberty
Liberty University). Considering Liberty is such a large university, this ratio seems to be an
appropriate size. This ratio is right around what I am ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liberty offers a multitude of sports on–campus, whereas Regent offers more clubs and activities
both on–campus and off–campus locally. At Liberty University, there are 20 NCAA Division I
sports ("Liberty" College Board). Some of the NCAA sports offered at Liberty include: baseball,
basketball, cross country, football, and a variety of other sports. Liberty's central website affirms that
there have been "[o]ver 100 teams with NCAA championships appearances" (Liberty Liberty
University). Furthermore, Liberty's website points out that Liberty offers "37 Club Sports teams"
(Liberty Liberty University). Clubs and sports are an essential part of the "college experience." It is
important to me that I go to a university that offers a wide variety of activities to do both on and off–
campus. Other than sports, Liberty University has drama, musical theater, choral groups, and
musical ensembles ("Liberty" College Board). I think Liberty offers an exceptional number of sports
and clubs, which is important to me. Then there is Regent which does not offer a single NCAA
sports, but it offers co–ed intramural sports and a wider variety of activities to pursue nearby off–
campus. Regent University's website states, "Regent and the Office of Student Activities &
Leadership offer more than 50 chartered student organizations" (Regent Regent University). With a
wider diversity of people at Regent, student organizations range from Surf Club to the Hispanic Law
Students Association. Regent not only offers a wide variety of activities to fit its diverse population,
but Regent also offers numerous intramural co–ed sports. Regent's website declares, "You can enjoy
soccer, basketball, flag football, softball, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, Little League and much more

I am currently looking for colleges that I would be interested in attending that meet my criteria.

rural setting. Three thousand four hundred sixty students are enrolled there with a retention rate of

Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University are two schools that I've been accepted
in. I would like to go to GCU, but I'm not sure if I'll be accepted. If I don't get accepted I would
want to attend Northern Arizona University full time. I would also like to live on campus only at
NAU. If I go to another university I will just plan on still living with my parents.
School Profile
Arizona State University's tuition and fees comes to a total of $10,522 (ASU Tuition, 1). Housing
costs will be $8,123 and meals will be $4, 872 The cost for book and supplies will be $1000 every

campus and really liked how its close to home. Although there is a large student population I would
still like to attend ASU. They offer a very good biochemistry program that I would like to major in.
Campus Tours
I have had a total of 4 university tours. The university that I liked was GCU and NAU. I loved the
NAU campus, it was so beautiful. I really liked how the camps looked after they remodeled mostly
all the buildings. It just made the place look at more modern and I liked how that looks. Another
reason why liked NAU was because the weather up north is nice and cool. The appearance of the
school would have to be my favorite part of the NAU tour. During the tour we walked around the
whole campus and were told where the important places were. There was very interesting, the walk–
in sky dome. The walk–in sky dome is a public place open to everyone,
I also visited GCU and I went on tour to see their medical program. I got to see cadavers that
students use to study. The students would show us parts of the bodies and would tell us what a
specific part of the body does. I also liked the campus too, but the 2 times I went to visit I went on a
tour there was always some kind of construction being done. The dorms were a bit small, but I know
that I'll get used to living with someone else that's not my parents.

camp counselor during the summer. Being able to be a camp counselor is one of the achievement

contribution to my community through service is being apart of Junior leader in 4–H. This group is

University Of Pennsylvania Vs University Comparison Essay
When it comes to choosing a university, there are many qualities people have to know in order to
make the right choice. For example, how much it cost, where it is located, the ranking, the
environment, and more. Founded in 1927, the University of Houston is the leading public research
university in the vibrant international city of Houston (UH at a Glance). In contrary, University of
Pennsylvania is a private institution founded in 1740 (University of Pennsylvania). Both the
University of Houston and the University of Pennsylvania are great schools that have similarities

University of Pennsylvania, as informed, has been an institution for much longer than University of
Houston. It might be more expensive because it is ranked in the top ten best colleges. Unlike UH,
University of Pennsylvania is more successful on School of Education, School of Medicine, and
some similar to the University of Houston, for example like School of Engineering (University of
Pennsylvania). All of these programs are great, from both universities. They are providing top
majors and making sure their students succeed. Everyone might think University of Pennsylvania is
more difficult, but it is all on how much the students put in effort. Similar to University of Houston,
students do not have to live on campus, but the percentage of people living off campus is lower than
people living in school property (University of Pennsylvania Academic Life). Even though they do
provide housing like every other college, students still decide to get their own home. With the tuition
and fees, pretty sure their dorms are expensive too. The environment might be the same but it is all

Even though the university followed a centralized organizational model was not consistent
throughout and there was a hidden decentralization of the IT governance. For instance, in a
centralized model, the problems with the lecture capturing software while authenticating the already
registered students or the inadequate network bandwidth should be solved by the help desk support
team instead of referring back to the faculty. IT monarchy is fitting governance for the decisions like
aligning security procedures to IS architecture specifications, where corporate IT (Individuals or
groups of IT executives. ) takes the title role and is responsible for specifying the configuration,
consistency in protection & achieving competency among the components according to the need of
the organization (Saunders, 2013). University of the Southeast did followed the IT Monarchy
archetype by making Information Technologies and Resources (IT&R ) responsible for taking

Academic Contributions Of Universities And Universities
After universities started to become successful corporations, they became part of the system of the
area. Professors were very high thought of like a knight was to its people. Professors took full claim
of their writings and ways of teachings using positions such as patrimonies and gaining money any
way they could through fees, bribes, and money lent to them by citizens. The rise of colleges
affected universities such as Paris, Oxford, and Cambridge. Colleges were originally foundations
that served as hostels for scholars who needed funding to go to a university. They were soon used
for academic lectures like a class at a university. Colleges grew very rich throughout the areas that
they were located in. Colleges controlled the teaching of liberal arts and became institutions that
aided to the sons of the privileged classes rather than the international community of students. While
the oldest universities were the casual gathering of scholars, universities were deliberately founded
to get political support from citizens to strengthen religion in areas of contact with heretics or to
increase the local and national status. The university movement was predominately international in
its upcoming years. Pope Clement started a movement that turned the universities into national
institutions which was a milestone that brought the corporations a long way from famine on the
streets of these vast cities that were once striving in architecture and once again overdoing
themselves and

Universities Censorship
Over the centuries Universities have been regulated by several diverse organizations, the
government being the main influence. With the Universities conformity (alliance or association or
collaberation) with the government, this manipulation is pulling away from what a University is
meant to be. When Universities are influenced by excess amounts of funding this increases the
disturbance of how teachers and scholars are influenced. Moreover, Universities have acquired
significant amounts of funding in respects to assertive departments: medical research, basic science
research, and engineering research. As universities increase enrollment, thus, increasing the
requirements for additional supplies for research projects, and implementing the need ... Show more

Furthermore, as universities increase student enrollment, the university will require additional
supplies for research projects. This compels administration to seek funding rather than searching for
ways to benefit society. In addition, causing problems between colleagues and various departments,
however, keep in mind when one department receives funding over another due to Government
influences, the smaller departments are still funded by smaller organizations. Furthermore, the
government is trying exert certain departments to distribute their findings. The rise to commercialize
research has been ongoing since the 1980's. In 2002 the Association of Universities and Colleges of
Canada, along with the government, assembled a meeting to discuss commercialization and the
"major" research departments. The three companies emplaced an alliance stating the Universities
will receive double the funding for research departments, in return tripling the commercialization.
Interestingly, the department faculties were not in attendance for this conference; whom are

products. Therefore, anti–depressants drugs are endorsed because they are commercialized. Not

University Art Museum
The University Art Museum Case Analysis

Professor Quimei Xu
I. Relevant Facts/Background
The Art Museum is a building on the university premises that is providing a place for the art
collection of a university. The building was given to the university by an alumnus around 1929. The
wealthy son of the university's first president served as the museum's unpaid director until his death.
He brought a few extra collections to the museum during his service, and while serving as unpaid
director, none of the collections was ever shown to anybody except a few members of the
university's art history faculty. The university practically gave the position to amateur art supporter,
Miss Kirkoff, after the director's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management
organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by "the elderly
statesmen of the faculty" that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its mission,
its direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What the university
has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to accomplish them. The
museum is not thriving with the school as well as it has in the past, and the direction of the
university is being questioned. III. Critical Analysis
The later director wanted it to be a community resource as said in the case, and the museum gained
bad reputation during that time as an academic resource. The building was designed by Miss Kirkoff
to help university and its alumni in their pursuit of knowledge. It failed greatly to support the
university and the public. At the time, the museum expected to hire a director and allow them to
shape the museum in any way they see suitable. The university on the other hand should have
identified the direction they want the museum to head in and create guidelines for a director to
fallow.
First, top managers at any organization, and in this case are the Dean and the board of directors of
the University, have to assess the opportunities and threats in external environment and internal
strengths and weaknesses as well. Next thing is to

A University 's Ethics
As Americans look towards the idea of college today, some may agree that the overall goals of a
university have drastically changed since the popularity of higher education has increased. If one
were to ask the universities what their core values consist of, most institutions would boast about
student academics and growth being at the top of the list. As this response may ring true with most
colleges in the US, specifically smaller schools, the increase in funds for research and athletic
programs have seemingly overtaken the attention of larger, more competitive universities. Higher
education has become a more popular choice among ambitious adults, providing them an
opportunity to move up in the working world. Further, with this ... Show more content on

Students, paying thousands of dollars a year to attend college, deserve to receive a decent education;
however, this is an ambiguous outcome when the professors are not being compensated as well as
they should be. The educators are delivering the actual learning work while most administrative
positions sit in an office all day and get paid more than twice as much for their labor.
The values surrounding university athletics have also become a controversial topic of interest among
Americans. Over the years, collegiate sports, especially football and basketball, have evolved into
commercialized teams around the country. Almost to the level of a professional team, college
athletes receive special treatment and an excess of benefits; one of the most significant benefits that
most of these athletes collect is free tuition. Depending on the school, colleges will additionally
cover a student 's housing, dining, and supply fees; not to mention all of the free equipment that
already comes with being a college athlete. Derek Bok of the Princeton University Press writes an
article about the commercialization and corruption of college athletics, saying, "Admissions offices

Stress In University Essay
Stress is known for occurring during the overwhelming times throughout students' university
experience. There are three major elements that students face in university that reinforce each other
and lead to stress. These three connected experiences can lead to them developing a mental illness if
the stress becomes long–term. Firstly, when the academic pressure and work–load for students rises
when they come to university, they will feel stressed. Secondly, since university is expensive, it may
be very stressful for students to pay for tuition and living costs. Lastly, students who are starting
university will face a lack of family support systems, difficulty finding friends, and difficulty
leaving home which will lead to them feeling stressed. Stress based on these three factors may have
a significant impact on their mental health and academic success.
Firstly, when the academic pressure and work–load on students rises when they come to university,
they will feel stressed as they adjust to the change of scholarly expectations. Students in university
face the challenges of having more assignments and tougher examinations than in high school,
which students may not be prepared for beforehand. The other academic factors that contribute to
higher stress levels are familial induced pressure to succeed, scholarship requirements, and higher
education requirements (Bedewy and Gabriel). Other factors that also have the highest rate of
academic stress are, "course loads, lack of

The University Of Texas At Austin
The University of Texas at Austin claims that it has good justifications for its use of race in the
admittance program. To provide evidence against Fisher's claim of being unable to stand up to strict
scrutiny, the University said that the Court had previously ruled that the "UT's limited consideration
or race was 'necessary' and narrowly tailored to UT's compelling interest in achieving student body
diversity" ("Brief of Respondents University," 2015). After Fisher's case went to court the first time,
the court was persuades that the need for having race as part of the holistic admittance program is
not considered a quota because it "a search for students of unique talents and backgrounds who can
enrich the diversity of the student body in distinct ways" ("Brief of Respondents University," 2015).
The University conducted internal studies and was alarmed at the low rate of minorities attending
classes, and is committed to improving the interracial relations by increasing diversity. The
University believes that by promoting diversity it will break down long standing racial and ethnic
stereotypes, as well as improving cross–racial understanding. They find that this is necessary
because our society is still race conscious. Texas is in fact racially segregated within cities. I think

Large Universities Vs. Small Universities . To Put It Quite
Large Universities vs. Small Universities To put it quite frankly, college searches are daunting for
students, parents, and even guidance counselors. With a plethora of universities offering a vast
variety of courses and degrees available, searching for one to settle down on can easily become a
quagmire for some. One of the biggest decisions to be made in this situation is the size of the
university. Although at first glance it may seem like a negligible detail, in fact, it can make or break
a student's college experience. Large colleges have an incredible amount of majors to offer students,
while smaller ones may not have as many, yet find a way to tailor to individual students. By that

The difference, besides the point that the University of Central Florida is more like Blue Mountain
State than a true institution, is that the University of Central Florida offers over 100 majors, ranging
from real estate, to theatre–studio management track, all the way to biotechnology. Yale, on the
other hand, only had 53 majors as of 2015. Therefore, as a student who has groundwork all laid out,
it may be easier to go to a school where their major even exists, whereas an undeclared student
would perhaps prefer a school with limited yet welcoming options. Smaller universities, although
having limited options also may offer the idea of independent–study or may tailor a major towards a
small group of students with a specific subject matter in mind–something far from possible in an
enormous school. In fact, Yale's undergraduate page reads, "Not yet sure what you want to do with
your life? Don't worry. You have time. Most Yale students wait until sophomore year before
declaring a major." Therefore proving the idea that a smaller school allows more academic freedom
for students, which may be important to some. With many majors, it is not surprising that larger
universities are given more updated research facilities and more research funding than a smaller
school. On the contrary, reputable universities (such as John Hopkins, Yale, Amherst College, MIT,

The Cost Of A University
As students began to look into getting a higher education, certain factors determine what college
they may look into: locations, academic profile, graduation rate, school size, and ,to some the most

there are many poor people in this world who want to attend college and earn a degree to support
themselves and their family and be able to live a more comfortable life. Everyone should have
should have the opportunity to go to college. Every year, college prices are increasing, causing it to
be less affordable. This will discourage people who want to go to college but do not have the money.
This will cause people to not get the job they want, forcing them to get another job that they dislike
or are not interested in. People should be proud of their job and proud of what they are doing for ,not
only for their city, but the nation. High college prices might leave someone in debt for a long time,
causing them to be stressed, which can affect the health of the individual in a negative way. For
these reasons, I think that college should be more affordable. While there are three solutions to this
problem, community colleges should be free while university are at lower rates, universities are free
for everyone, and universities makes text books free to all their students, making all

Assault In Universities
The focus of my paper is to explore what kind of services and programs, are offered to victims of
sexual assault. The research question that will be focused throughout this paper is: In what ways do
Universities and Colleges assist victims of Sexual Assault? According to the United States
Department of Justice (2017), sexual assault is defined as "any type of sexual contact or behavior
that occurs without the explicit consent of the recipient. Falling under the definition of sexual assault
are sexual activities as forced sexual intercourse, forcible sodomy, child molestation, incest,
fondling, and attempted rape" (DOJ 2017). As you can see sexual assault has various situations that
could cause some situations to be sexual assault. Statistics show how 95% of campus sexual assault
is unreported, 90% of women know who sexually assaulted them, 50% of sexual assaults on campus
are alcohol related, 80% of rape victims suffer chronic physical and psychological problems over
time (PACT5:2017). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, I will review what the academic literature has to say about the issue of sexual assault on
university and college campus and how they have responded to the incident. Third, I will discuss
resources that are available for the victims on universities and campuses. The factors that we will be
exploring throughout the paper are: resources to help the victim, organizations, and treatments, and
the effects on the victim physically, emotionally and academically. A review of literature makes it
clear that services and programs offered to victims of sexual assault on universities and college
campuses (Vladutiu, Martin, and Macy 2011). I hope that I will be able to answer the research
question that I have provided to you at the beginning of the paper properly and efficiently that you

Land Grant Universities
Introduction
The colleges and universities established in all states by the first Morrill Act in 1862 and the second
Morrill Act in 1890 are land–grant institutions (Sherwood, 2004). The original mission of the land–
grant universities institutions is "To teach such branches of learning as are related to agriculture and
the mechanic, and arts, in such manner as the legislatures of the states may respectively prescribe, in
order to promote the liberal and practical education of the industrial classes in the several pursuits
and professions in life," (Shiplett et al., 2011, p. 84).
Today, the land–grant institutions continue to provide equitable access to education and develop
innovations that continue to strengthen the US. Land–grant universities ... Show more content on

Today, land–grant universities have moved from their original mission as a result of some issues,
which include budget–related financial issues and the small number of agriculture student

on their students, and it shifted the institution from their historical mission to provide higher
education for all citizen from all classes. The second issue is the small number of agriculture
students' enrollment each year. This issue threated the survival of the agriculture colleges in the

The University Of Alabama And University At Birmingham
Deciding on a four year university to transfer to can be a very stressful decision. Talking to
recruiters from many different schools has revealed one thing; they all believe their school is the
best. Recruiters are not going to disclose the problem areas of their programs, nor highlight areas
where other schools are stronger. Therefore, leaving students to compare and contrast, everything
the schools offer, and attempt to make an informed decision. When comparing the different
electrical engineering programs, it seemed that every school claimed to be the most innovative, and
had the ability to offer the most opportunities to their students. When looking specifically at the
University of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham it became evident that their
programs were very similar. Both schools require the same computer and engineering seminar
classes and both require that their students achieve a "C" or higher in their math and science courses.
Where they truly stood out from one another is in their transfer requirements, the organizations
available on campus, and the cost of attendance. As a transfer student, one of the most important
aspects of choosing any college is making sure that all of the requirements can be met. The
University of Alabama requires that to transfer in, the student must have maintained a 2.0 GPA on a
4.0 scale, which is a "C" average. They also require that to be classified as a transfer student versus

The Concept of free tuition for university would eliminate student loans in Canada hence weakening
the banks of Canada and the nation's economy. Due to the interest on student loans, banks make a
significant amount of profit. Without the income from student loans, the banks of Canada will

The article written by ESPN reporter Jemele Hill explores the tumultuous story of Chris Webber and
the University of Michigan. Chris Webber was a basketball star in the early nineties at the
University of Michigan and was a major contributor to the university reaching the NCAA

then founded that Webber received thousands of dollars from than booster Ed Martin while

when it comes to intellectual property rights at UMUC, they are not vital to this paper and thus will

While UMUC based its intellectual property policy on the one developed for the University System

to their mission, thus anything created to be posted online is be considered the same as any other

In order to help my community to grow I will be helping inform people of how inappropriate it is to
commit these violations while telling them to spread the word that way the information is passed

The University Of Findlay And Ohio Dominican University
As a senior in high school the time has come when people begin to ask big and sometimes
overwhelming questions like, "Where are you going to college?" and "What will be your major?"
These questions, of course, lead to college visits and decisions. The two colleges that seem to meet
my criteria are The University of Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. Both colleges have
positive aspects, such as having the major that I am interested in as well as being close to family.
However, The University of Findlay seems to be a better fit than Ohio Dominican because it is
closer to home and I am familiar with the campus and I grew up on this campus.
When comparing The University of Findlay (UF) and Ohio Dominican University (ODU), I have
found similarities and differences that can be seen as positive and negative. ODU is a private,
Catholic university that covers ninety three acres of land and was founded in 1911. There are 2,600
students enrolled at ODU. Of the students, fifty seven percent are female and forty three percent are
male. ODU has undergraduate and graduate programs. The University has sixteen athletic teams that
compete in the NCAA Division II and provides more than forty organizations for the students to be
involved in. ("How ODU Rank Among America's Best Colleges?") ("ODU Quick Facts"). ODU
offers more than forty five majors ("Ohio Dominican Offers More than 45 Majors") and does have
middle school education for teaching, which is a major that I am considering.

The curriculum is rigorous and factors like being away from home and not knowing anyone can also
add to the anxiety. The University of Chicago provides various resources to keep the students out of
harm's way. When I got the chance to visit the campus, I noticed there were what seemed to be
strange street lights all over campus. These lights were questionable because they said 'emergency'
in big bold letters. Later in the tour, I learned that these 'streetlights' were emergency phones. If a
student felt like they are in any kind of danger, they can go to one of the 380 phones on campus. As
well as the physical safety of the students, the University cares for the mental safety of the students.
The school provides academic support such as student tutoring and even student counseling
services. I think everyone can agree that post–secondary education is expensive and may be
impossible for some families. That's why the University's 'No Barriers' program is so great. It waives
the application fee, doesn't make students pull out loans, and relives students of the financial stress
so that they can focus all of their attention on their education. If someone is always worried about
whether they will be able to pay for their next class, instead of studying their hardest to pass the

Community College or University?
Choosing a college or deciding to even go to college is one of the most stressful things that we have
had to do in our lives so far. This is especially stressful when you don't have the money to pay for
college or don't know what you want to major in. College is very expensive and the costs add up
quickly. Community college is less expensive and is not much different than a university. You can
start majoring in something in a community college and then transfer your credits to a university.
Many people choose a university because they think that community college is only for those who
can't get into a university, but that is not true. We will discuss the similarities and differences in a
community college and a university throughout this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is much easier to explore majors in a community college. Once you understand the differences and
similarities it is easier to choose what type of college you want to go to. College is expensive
anyway you look at, but if you go in with a plan it might make it a little easier. Whether it is a
community college or university, at least you are getting an education. It is nice to know that at least
you went to college and you have some type of higher education background. It is hard and stressful
choosing a college but it doesn't get any easier from here.

Small Universities Vs Smaller Universities
Smaller Universities vs. Larger Universities Millions of students attend various universities every
semester. Some students choose to go to smaller universities because they might be close to home,
and some students decide to go with the larger ones due to the desire to be a part of the campus life
or the longing to join a sorority/fraternity; maybe they like classes that contain about 300 other
peers. Students often debate whether they should attend a smaller university or a larger university;
however, when the two are contrasted, it becomes clear that smaller universities have more
opportunities offered.
One important issue that deeply impacts a student's education are the class sizes. Bigger universities
tend to obtain classes consisting of 100 to about 600 classmates. This has the ability to negatively
affect an individual because they might be behind on a subject due to lack of understanding and are
too afraid to ask a question in front of a full class (which mostly happens because they do not want
to appear unintelligent to the other undergrads). On the other hand, if the student attended a smaller
university, the class sizes would be about 20–50 students, putting less pressure on a person to
request assistance (Hyman and Jacobs). Another concern is a professor's teaching techniques. As
stated, class sizes are a problem not only for the students, but also the professors. If the class is
huge, the professor will not be able to look at one student as an individual

perseverance. Yet for many minorities and economically disadvantaged people, the dream is
unfulfilled because the educational opportunities that they need are unavailable. The universities are

Awareness of these stereotypical classifications and inborn feelings of inferiority spelled doom for
the prospective minority student.
Adrienne Rich gave a graduation speech in which she blamed gender bias as a roadblock to women.
She felt that women had a more difficult time entering college than men, and for those who did have
such privilege, success rested on their ability to "think like men" (47). For the women who have the
"privilege" of a university education, their world is now influenced and controlled by men, and
feminine individuality is constructively discarded.
Mike Rose took up the baton with the issues of under– privileged people who are unable to progress
as high up the ladder of education as they desire because they lack the basic skills required by
universities. He gave many examples of struggling men and women of all racial groups who, having
the desire to learn, are routinely excluded because they have not yet learned enough. He described
the struggles of one Chinese immigrant who learned to speak English by watching television and
reading People magazine. To many immigrants, even the most basic English classes are impossible
for a non–native speaker to grasp.
One popular argument in favor of this practice claims that the universities are exclusive because
they have to be. It is impossible to educate everyone, so only the ones with

Comparison Of University Vs. Liberty University

  • 1. Comparison Of University Vs. Liberty University Even though Liberty and Regent University may have similar belief systems in terms of religion, the class and campus sizes are different. Liberty is a much larger university, but the teachers are less personable. According to Liberty University's central website, Liberty's campus covers more than 7,000 acres (Liberty Liberty University). I find it important to attend a university that has a large campus enough campus that students can get away and have space to study or to think if needed. The student to professor ratio at Liberty University for residential undergraduates is 24 to 1 (Liberty Liberty University). Considering Liberty is such a large university, this ratio seems to be an appropriate size. This ratio is right around what I am ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Liberty offers a multitude of sports on–campus, whereas Regent offers more clubs and activities both on–campus and off–campus locally. At Liberty University, there are 20 NCAA Division I sports ("Liberty" College Board). Some of the NCAA sports offered at Liberty include: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, and a variety of other sports. Liberty's central website affirms that there have been "[o]ver 100 teams with NCAA championships appearances" (Liberty Liberty University). Furthermore, Liberty's website points out that Liberty offers "37 Club Sports teams" (Liberty Liberty University). Clubs and sports are an essential part of the "college experience." It is important to me that I go to a university that offers a wide variety of activities to do both on and off– campus. Other than sports, Liberty University has drama, musical theater, choral groups, and musical ensembles ("Liberty" College Board). I think Liberty offers an exceptional number of sports and clubs, which is important to me. Then there is Regent which does not offer a single NCAA sports, but it offers co–ed intramural sports and a wider variety of activities to pursue nearby off– campus. Regent University's website states, "Regent and the Office of Student Activities & Leadership offer more than 50 chartered student organizations" (Regent Regent University). With a wider diversity of people at Regent, student organizations range from Surf Club to the Hispanic Law Students Association. Regent not only offers a wide variety of activities to fit its diverse population, but Regent also offers numerous intramural co–ed sports. Regent's website declares, "You can enjoy soccer, basketball, flag football, softball, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, Little League and much more through Regent University Intramural Sports" (Regent Regent University). Additionally, Regent website affirms, "All ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would like to go to GCU, but I'm not sure if I'll be accepted. If I don't get accepted I would want to attend Northern Arizona University full time. I would also like to live on campus only at NAU. Although there is a large student population I would still like to attend ASU. They offer a very good biochemistry program that I would like to major in. Campus Tours I have had a total of 4 university tours. The university that I liked was GCU and NAU. I loved the NAU campus, it was so beautiful. I really liked how the camps looked after they remodeled mostly all the buildings. It just made the place look at more modern and I liked how that looks. Another reason why liked NAU was because the weather up north is nice and cool. The appearance of the school would have to be my favorite part of the NAU tour. During the tour we walked around the whole campus and were told where the important places were. There was very interesting, the walk– in sky dome. The walk–in sky dome is a public place open to everyone, I also visited GCU and I went on tour to see their medical program. I got to see cadavers that students use to study. The students would show us parts of the bodies and would tell us what a specific part of the body does. I also liked the campus too, but the 2 times I went to visit I went on a tour there was always some kind of construction being done. The dorms were a bit small, but I know that I'll get used to living with someone else that's not my parents. Room ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I would describe myself rich as I am grateful for the experiences through community service. I do a lot of community service through 4–H as I have been a member for ten years. I have also been given the opportunity to be a camp counselor during the summer. Being able to be a camp counselor is one of the achievement given to me as I have to do paperwork and go through an interview process. Founded in 1927, the University of Houston is the leading public research university in the vibrant international city of Houston (UH at a Glance). In contrary, University of Pennsylvania is a private institution founded in 1740 (University of Pennsylvania). Its tuition and fees are $49,536, that's like buying a brand new car. (University of Pennsylvania). University of Pennsylvania, as informed, has been an institution for much longer than University of Houston. It might be more expensive because it is ranked in the top ten best colleges. Unlike UH, University of Pennsylvania is more successful on School of Education, School of Medicine, and some similar to the University of Houston, for example like School of Engineering (University of Pennsylvania). All of these programs are great, from both universities. They are providing top majors and making sure their students succeed. Everyone might think University of Pennsylvania is more difficult, but it is all on how much the students put in effort. Similar to University of Houston, students do not have to live on campus, but the percentage of people living off campus is lower than people living in school property (University of Pennsylvania Academic Life). Even though they do provide housing like every other college, students still decide to get their own home. With the tuition and fees, pretty sure their dorms are expensive too. Even though the university followed a centralized organizational model was not consistent throughout and there was a hidden decentralization of the IT governance. For instance, in a centralized model, the problems with the lecture capturing software while authenticating the already registered students or the inadequate network bandwidth should be solved by the help desk support team instead of referring back to the faculty. IT monarchy is fitting governance for the decisions like aligning security procedures to IS architecture specifications, where corporate IT (Individuals or groups of IT executives. ) takes the title role and is responsible for specifying the configuration, consistency in protection & achieving competency among the components according to the need of the organization (Saunders, 2013). • 8. Academic Contributions Of Universities And Universities After universities started to become successful corporations, they became part of the system of the area. Professors were very high thought of like a knight was to its people. Professors took full claim of their writings and ways of teachings using positions such as patrimonies and gaining money any way they could through fees, bribes, and money lent to them by citizens. The rise of colleges affected universities such as Paris, Oxford, and Cambridge. Colleges were originally foundations that served as hostels for scholars who needed funding to go to a university. They were soon used for academic lectures like a class at a university. Colleges grew very rich throughout the areas that they were located in. Colleges controlled the teaching of liberal arts and became institutions that aided to the sons of the privileged classes rather than the international community of students. While the oldest universities were the casual gathering of scholars, universities were deliberately founded to get political support from citizens to strengthen religion in areas of contact with heretics or to increase the local and national status. The university movement was predominately international in its upcoming years. Pope Clement started a movement that turned the universities into national institutions which was a milestone that brought the corporations a long way from famine on the streets of these vast cities that were once striving in architecture and once again overdoing themselves and ... With the Universities conformity (alliance or association or collaberation) with the government, this manipulation is pulling away from what a University is meant to be. When Universities are influenced by excess amounts of funding this increases the disturbance of how teachers and scholars are influenced. Furthermore, the government is trying exert certain departments to distribute their findings. The rise to commercialize research has been ongoing since the 1980's. In 2002 the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, along with the government, assembled a meeting to discuss commercialization and the "major" research departments. Relevant Facts/Background The Art Museum is a building on the university premises that is providing a place for the art collection of a university. The building was given to the university by an alumnus around 1929. The wealthy son of the university's first president served as the museum's unpaid director until his death. He brought a few extra collections to the museum during his service, and while serving as unpaid director, none of the collections was ever shown to anybody except a few members of the university's art history faculty. The real issue was not that the new director opened the doors to the public, but the management organization at the University Art Museum. There are three main points as listed by "the elderly statesmen of the faculty" that need to be addressed and clearly defined for the museum: its mission, its direction, and its objectives. These are clearly the focal problems in this case. What the university has to do as a whole is to set organizational goals and develop the plans to accomplish them. The museum is not thriving with the school as well as it has in the past, and the direction of the university is being questioned. III. Critical Analysis The later director wanted it to be a community resource as said in the case, and the museum gained bad reputation during that time as an academic resource. The building was designed by Miss Kirkoff to help university and its alumni in their pursuit of knowledge. It failed greatly to support the university and the public. At the time, the museum expected to hire a director and allow them to shape the museum in any way they see suitable. The university on the other hand should have identified the direction they want the museum to head in and create guidelines for a director to fallow. First, top managers at any organization, and in this case are the Dean and the board of directors of the University, have to assess the opportunities and threats in external environment and internal strengths and weaknesses as well. A University 's Ethics As Americans look towards the idea of college today, some may agree that the overall goals of a university have drastically changed since the popularity of higher education has increased. If one were to ask the universities what their core values consist of, most institutions would boast about student academics and growth being at the top of the list. As this response may ring true with most colleges in the US, specifically smaller schools, the increase in funds for research and athletic programs have seemingly overtaken the attention of larger, more competitive universities. Higher education has become a more popular choice among ambitious adults, providing them an opportunity to move up in the working world. Further, with this ... Students, paying thousands of dollars a year to attend college, deserve to receive a decent education; however, this is an ambiguous outcome when the professors are not being compensated as well as they should be. The educators are delivering the actual learning work while most administrative positions sit in an office all day and get paid more than twice as much for their labor. The values surrounding university athletics have also become a controversial topic of interest among Americans. Over the years, collegiate sports, especially football and basketball, have evolved into commercialized teams around the country. Almost to the level of a professional team, college athletes receive special treatment and an excess of benefits; one of the most significant benefits that most of these athletes collect is free tuition. Depending on the school, colleges will additionally cover a student 's housing, dining, and supply fees; not to mention all of the free equipment that already comes with being a college athlete. There are three major elements that students face in university that reinforce each other and lead to stress. These three connected experiences can lead to them developing a mental illness if the stress becomes long–term. Firstly, when the academic pressure and work–load for students rises when they come to university, they will feel stressed. Secondly, since university is expensive, it may be very stressful for students to pay for tuition and living costs. Lastly, students who are starting university will face a lack of family support systems, difficulty finding friends, and difficulty leaving home which will lead to them feeling stressed. To provide evidence against Fisher's claim of being unable to stand up to strict scrutiny, the University said that the Court had previously ruled that the "UT's limited consideration or race was 'necessary' and narrowly tailored to UT's compelling interest in achieving student body diversity" ("Brief of Respondents University," 2015). After Fisher's case went to court the first time, the court was persuades that the need for having race as part of the holistic admittance program is not considered a quota because it "a search for students of unique talents and backgrounds who can enrich the diversity of the student body in distinct ways" ("Brief of Respondents University," 2015). To Put It Quite Large Universities vs. Small Universities To put it quite frankly, college searches are daunting for students, parents, and even guidance counselors. With a plethora of universities offering a vast variety of courses and degrees available, searching for one to settle down on can easily become a quagmire for some. One of the biggest decisions to be made in this situation is the size of the university. Although at first glance it may seem like a negligible detail, in fact, it can make or break a student's college experience. Large colleges have an incredible amount of majors to offer students, while smaller ones may not have as many, yet find a way to tailor to individual students. The difference, besides the point that the University of Central Florida is more like Blue Mountain State than a true institution, is that the University of Central Florida offers over 100 majors, ranging from real estate, to theatre–studio management track, all the way to biotechnology. Yale, on the other hand, only had 53 majors as of 2015. Therefore, as a student who has groundwork all laid out, it may be easier to go to a school where their major even exists, whereas an undeclared student would perhaps prefer a school with limited yet welcoming options. Smaller universities, although having limited options also may offer the idea of independent–study or may tailor a major towards a small group of students with a specific subject matter in mind–something far from possible in an enormous school. In fact, Yale's undergraduate page reads, "Not yet sure what you want to do with your life? Don't worry. You have time. Most Yale students wait until sophomore year before declaring a major." Therefore proving the idea that a smaller school allows more academic freedom for students, which may be important to some. • 20. The Cost Of A University As students began to look into getting a higher education, certain factors determine what college they may look into: locations, academic profile, graduation rate, school size, and ,to some the most important, the cost of the university. The cost of a university can play one of the biggest deciding factors in furthering your educations. Many students don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars and there are many poor people in this world who want to attend college and earn a degree to support themselves and their family and be able to live a more comfortable life. Everyone should have should have the opportunity to go to college. Every year, college prices are increasing, causing it to be less affordable. This will discourage people who want to go to college but do not have the money. This will cause people to not get the job they want, forcing them to get another job that they dislike or are not interested in. People should be proud of their job and proud of what they are doing for ,not only for their city, but the nation. High college prices might leave someone in debt for a long time, causing them to be stressed, which can affect the health of the individual in a negative way. For these reasons, I think that college should be more affordable. While there are three solutions to this problem, community colleges should be free while university are at lower rates, universities are free for everyone, and universities makes text books free to all their students, making all ... When I got to the meeting I sat in the office for a little while without anyone coming up or anyone besides another girl who was there for her meeting, then I waited for my turn to go and was greeted by four people for the meeting. They asked me about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The University Of Findlay And Ohio Dominican University As a senior in high school the time has come when people begin to ask big and sometimes overwhelming questions like, "Where are you going to college?" and "What will be your major?" These questions, of course, lead to college visits and decisions. The two colleges that seem to meet my criteria are The University of Findlay and Ohio Dominican University. Both colleges have positive aspects, such as having the major that I am interested in as well as being close to family. However, The University of Findlay seems to be a better fit than Ohio Dominican because it is closer to home and I am familiar with the campus and I grew up on this campus. When comparing The University of Findlay (UF) and Ohio Dominican University (ODU), I have found similarities and differences that can be seen as positive and negative. ODU is a private, Catholic university that covers ninety three acres of land and was founded in 1911. There are 2,600 students enrolled at ODU. Of the students, fifty seven percent are female and forty three percent are male. ODU has undergraduate and graduate programs. The University has sixteen athletic teams that compete in the NCAA Division II and provides more than forty organizations for the students to be involved in. ("How ODU Rank Among America's Best Colleges?") ("ODU Quick Facts"). ODU offers more than forty five majors ("Ohio Dominican Offers More than 45 Majors") and does have middle school education for teaching, which is a major that I am considering. ... • 33. University Of Chicago University Analysis The University of Chicago the ideal college that every student deserves. Plenty of support is given to the students, ranging from tutors, to emergency medical care, therefore getting approval from my parents. Chicago is a very large city with very unique residents. The University Of Chicago realizes that their students are sons and daughters, some whom may be far from home. Resources are provided to help keep their students safe and sane. Uchicago, since the first time I heard about it, has always been unique and playful, all while having an amazing educational reputation. It is strange to see that a college has a personality. I often explain to my parents that this university is like your favorite older cousin; they teach you life lessons, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The curriculum is rigorous and factors like being away from home and not knowing anyone can also add to the anxiety. The University of Chicago provides various resources to keep the students out of harm's way. When I got the chance to visit the campus, I noticed there were what seemed to be strange street lights all over campus. These lights were questionable because they said 'emergency' in big bold letters. Later in the tour, I learned that these 'streetlights' were emergency phones. If a student felt like they are in any kind of danger, they can go to one of the 380 phones on campus. As well as the physical safety of the students, the University cares for the mental safety of the students. The school provides academic support such as student tutoring and even student counseling services. I think everyone can agree that post–secondary education is expensive and may be impossible for some families. That's why the University's 'No Barriers' program is so great. It waives the application fee, doesn't make students pull out loans, and relives students of the financial stress so that they can focus all of their attention on their education. If someone is always worried about whether they will be able to pay for their next class, instead of studying their hardest to pass the current class, priorities will be mixed up and scholars won't be able to reach their full educational ... • 35. Small Universities Vs Smaller Universities Smaller Universities vs. Larger Universities Millions of students attend various universities every semester. Some students choose to go to smaller universities because they might be close to home, and some students decide to go with the larger ones due to the desire to be a part of the campus life or the longing to join a sorority/fraternity; maybe they like classes that contain about 300 other peers. Students often debate whether they should attend a smaller university or a larger university; however, when the two are contrasted, it becomes clear that smaller universities have more opportunities offered. One important issue that deeply impacts a student's education are the class sizes. Bigger universities tend to obtain classes consisting of 100 to about 600 classmates. This has the ability to negatively affect an individual because they might be behind on a subject due to lack of understanding and are too afraid to ask a question in front of a full class (which mostly happens because they do not want to appear unintelligent to the other undergrads). On the other hand, if the student attended a smaller university, the class sizes would be about 20–50 students, putting less pressure on a person to request assistance (Hyman and Jacobs). Another concern is a professor's teaching techniques. As stated, class sizes are a problem not only for the students, but also the professors. If the class is huge, the professor will not be able to look at one student as an individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. University Exclusivity Essays University Exclusivity This country that we live in, the United States of America, has a reputation as being the "land of opportunity." Foreigners and native–born citizens regard this land as the pot of gold at the rainbow's end for those individuals who wish to make a life for themselves through hard work and perseverance. Yet for many minorities and economically disadvantaged people, the dream is unfulfilled because the educational opportunities that they need are unavailable. The universities are as unreachable as top– shelf merchandise in a warehouse without ladders or lifts. They are no less unwelcoming than heavy steel doors slamming shut in the face of a visitor. The selections from The Presence of Others: Voices that Call for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Awareness of these stereotypical classifications and inborn feelings of inferiority spelled doom for the prospective minority student. Adrienne Rich gave a graduation speech in which she blamed gender bias as a roadblock to women. She felt that women had a more difficult time entering college than men, and for those who did have such privilege, success rested on their ability to "think like men" (47). For the women who have the "privilege" of a university education, their world is now influenced and controlled by men, and feminine individuality is constructively discarded. Mike Rose took up the baton with the issues of under– privileged people who are unable to progress as high up the ladder of education as they desire because they lack the basic skills required by universities. He gave many examples of struggling men and women of all racial groups who, having the desire to learn, are routinely excluded because they have not yet learned enough. He described the struggles of one Chinese immigrant who learned to speak English by watching television and reading People magazine. To many immigrants, even the most basic English classes are impossible for a non–native speaker to grasp. One popular argument in favor of this practice claims that the universities are exclusive because they have to be. It is impossible to educate everyone, so only the ones with ...
