Wisp Brand Manager
If I were the Brand Manager for Wisp I would target my product toward the younger generation. I
would focus on a consumer group of 16–40. With our newer generations more and more people are
consumed with the health of their teeth (Weisz, 1994). Oral hygiene is important to people and
considering the advancements of today's society, more and more people are constantly going.
Teenagers are going to want to try the Wisk due to their need for fresh breath and how their normal
oral routine interferes with their busy schedule. Your college age students are even busier than high
school students and would be my next group of consumers. After college you are looking at the
consumers of 24–40 and some of these consumers are single parents or busy working

Factors Affecting The Demand For Toothbrushes
To assess the factors affecting the demand for toothbrushes in India, a situation analysis has been
performed using the 5Cs framework:
Context: In 2009, India was the world's largest democracy; with a population of 1.16billion growing
at 1.4% per annum, the country suffered from a huge disparity in income with the majority of Indian
population (78%) living in rural areas, and as many as 80% living under $2 per day. The 78% who
lived in rural areas accounted for c. 64% of total expenditures in India. Around 50% of the Indian
population did not have sufficient awareness of dental healthcare, and did not associate dental
problems with improper care but rather to eating habits or genetics; most of these Indians were using
natural remedies as chewing twigs from the Neem tree. Among the remaining population who used
modern dental healthcare or a toothbrush, 77% brushed their teeth less than twice a day
(recommended usage), and out of the 747.1million brushes sold every year, only 8.6% replaced their
brush every 3 months. Cottle–Taylor (CT) enjoyed a large market share in India and focused on
toothbrushes. Given the peculiarities of the market, CT decided to focus on toothbrushes where it
enjoys larger gross margins by virtue of its existing manufacturing infrastructure that has been built
over the years.
Customers: Given the composition of the Indian population described earlier, the customers are
typically price sensitive with not much disposable income. The majority of

Everything You Need To Know About Flossing
Taking care of your teeth goes beyond just brushing twice a day. It is equally important that you
floss every day as well. Brushing will help get the plaque off your teeth that is on the front and back
surfaces, and it will help remove the food particles and bacteria that are hiding between your teeth.
Flossing also plays a role in reducing your risk of gum disease, tooth decay, and controls bad breath.
Unfortunately, many people do not know how they should be flossing their teeth. Picking the right
type of flossing and using the correct movements can make a huge difference in your oral health.
Here is everything you need to know about flossing.
Picking the Right Type of Floss
Flossing starts with selecting a type ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Start by unraveling enough floss so that it is approximately an arms length long. Wrap most of the
floss around one middle finger, and leave a couple inches free to wrap around the middle finger on
the opposite hand. You'll be discarding the floss as you go by unraveling it around the finger on one
hand and wrapping it around the finger on the opposite hand. Every tooth should get a new section
of dental floss so that it is free of any bacteria.
Glide your dental floss between the teeth by using your index finger and thumb. You'll want to use a
gentle motion that goes up and down rather than back and forth.
You'll need to curve your dental floss against the tooth so that it slides into the space where the tooth
meets the gums. Keep the floss close to the teeth, and try to avoid irritating the papilla, which is the
part of the gums that sticks up between your teeth.
With these tips in mind, you'll be sure to have teeth and gums that are in better health for your next
dental cleaning. For more advice about flossing, ask a dentist during your next cleaning at Treman &

Have you ever been in the dentist office when your gums started bleeding? Most likely, the dental
hygienist told you that this happened because you don't floss enough! Though this isn't true, there
are still plenty of benefits to practicing good dental care and flossing regularly. Here's some reasons
to NOT give up on dental floss, all from Cincinnati's top dentists at Lowitz and Meier! Recently,
there have been a slew of rumors floating around the internet claiming that flossing your teeth is not
necessary for optimal dental care. However, these rumors are far from the truth! In fact, they are all
stemming from one publishing error that happened last year. In 2015, the Food and Drug
Administration issued their yearly dietary guidelines.

Top Five
Top Five – Anti–Aging Tips There are five things that everyone can do today that will slow down
the aging process. They are relatively quick and quite easy. As mothers and keepers of the home
these are the five things that you should start doing today to keep premature aging away. After all,
we may be the ones raising and caring our family but we want to look good too!
1) Wear your Sunglasses
2) Take Care of Your Smile
3) Know your Number
4) Take your Vitamins
5) Challenge Yourself
Wear your Sunglasses
All that squinting from the sun 's rays will cause premature wrinkles to appear around the delicate
eye area. Do yourself and your eyes a favor and take your sunglasses with you as you head out the
door. If you are still considering going out and "running" your errands sans sunglasses, think about
this: There is an increased risk of cataracts and macular degeneration due to sun damage that can
occur. Don 't forget to wear your sunglasses in the winter months too!
Take Care of Your Smile
One of the easiest things that you can do for yourself is to take care of your smile. That means
seeing the dentist at least twice a year for your dental check–ups, brushing your teeth at least twice a
day (in the morning and before you go to bed), and flossing regularly. Did you know that dental
decay can lead to cardiovascular disease?
In addition, use a whitening toothpaste daily to nix coffee, tea and other superficial food stains from
those pearly whites. Teeth whitening kits

Solution For The Problem Solution
Problem Solution
The solution for the problem we observe is to design a product that has floss connecting to the
toothbrush. That way, people who "forget" will be reminded to include this in their everyday routine.
The consumers would be able to take the floss out. We think this is going to be the outcome because
30% of adults say they do not have it in handy, now they do!
Conclusion
Our solution was successful, but there was some things that could be fixed. Our suggested solution
to the problem was successful because we were able to remove the floss successfully, keep the
dental floss cutter in place, and we were able to remind the user to floss. When we tested this
product, there was some things that could have been improved. When in use, water got to the
bottom, and slightly removed the glue. To fix this, we could put a cover at the end, so it would
prevent the water from going in. It was also difficult to take the floss out of the product, but it was
possible. Next time, we could make an opening big enough so users do not have a problem with
taking the floss out. Some possible problems noticed in the test is that the floss could slip to the very
bottom, and it would be extremely difficult to get out. To fix this, we could put a slit near the dental
floss cutter to prevent the floss from accidentally going to the bottom. Another difficulty that is most
likely to come off is having to

Dental Hygiene Career
As a final journal, I will explain what events made an impression on my dental hygiene career as
well as how the community was affected positively and negatively.
What went well in all of the presented presentation; knowing the information, having an attentive
audience, and presenting with confidence. Our first presentation was at the Red Apple adult center,
we had props to help clarify the information. Information presented was descriptive to distinguish
each section of the presentation. At the end of the presentation, we played a game called spine and
show. The did very well by responding to all questions. When it all done and over, we received hugs
and a lot of questions about stains on teeth. Another point that worked well during the ... Show more

Adding addition topics to groups would have been an overload of information. Claude pepper, I
believe that information was just too much. I think we lost our audience within five minutes of our
presentation. Not because of the presenting but mainly because of the medical condition of our
audience. In addition to my individual presentation, I think I could have added hygiene as a career
information. These young mothers would have benefited to know about the hygiene career. Add a
slide in my presentation going over flexibility and pay scale. Eliminating any topics from our
group's presentation, I did not see the need. All topics were done according to our audience needs.
At red apple center, we cover denture care, nutrition, OHI. The we attended probably didn't need
denture care. As a group we covered it due to the request of the director. These topics was requested
by the site's director, who know what our audience needed to focus on. This course needs no change.
I would like to suggest, setting up a table on Tuesday during PHSC lunch, letting the student be
aware of our smoking and drugs and OHI care of our local student. Our PHSC students are unaware
of our clinic and work we provide to our community. Setting up a table will allow students to be

What Is Tooth Decay In The 50's
By examining three of the commercials from the 1950s, we can conclude what the initial perceived
dental problem was in the era. In each of the commercials I analyzed, the issue of tooth decay was
mentioned repeatedly. I examined the 1956 Pepsodent commercial, the 1950s Colgate Dental Cream
commercial, and the 1956 Crest commercial. The competing companies all had a similar substantive
characteristic in that they used science and scientific terms to sway their consumers. In the particular
situation of tooth decay, all of the rhetors chose science and special terminology that would cause a
response in their audience. It is hard to argue against "science" after all.
Beginning with the 1956 Pepsodent commercial we see that the "scientific" formula is used but not
explained. According to the cartoon images in the commercial, I.M.P. cleans the teeth and removes
the yellow stains, while "Irium" fights tooth decay. The science behind these products in the
toothpaste formula is not mentioned. However, the audience can see the "cause and effect" in
relation to those two ingredients. By using Pepsodent and its ... Show more content on

It did, however, have a "professional dentist" advising his patient to use that particular brand. The
"dentist" repeatedly stated that Colgate Dental Cream proved with scientific evidence that it stops
tooth decay "best." The dentist continues to say that no other toothpaste has "proved so completely"
with dental research that Colgate stops tooth decay and bad breath. Again, just like the Pepsodent
commercial, we see that scientific formula (though we have not been told how or with what)
Colgate leads to physical attraction and kissing. In this commercial, an explanation of anything is
not needed, because there is a supposed trusted professional telling the audience that the evidence
exists. Use the toothpaste that has backed scientific research and get the

Brushing Thy Teeth Research Paper
Brushing thy teeth is such an indispensable part of our daily existence that whenever we miss doing
it, we felt like missing a friend or have lost an important accessory. We do this twice or thrice a day
and it will be no surprise to have seen our toothbrushes wither away like an old–aged woman.
Dentists have instructed and advised everyone to replace our toothbrush at least every two months
and once a toothbrush's life is done, it is doomed to be trash. The cost of a single, generic toothbrush
might be something that we can earn in a minute and purchasing a new one won't even budge the
budget, but if you're the resourceful type, you'd surely think twice before throwing it away. Have
you heard of recycling? Yes, well this can also apply to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The slim nature and head of your toothbrush is capable of scrubbing tile gaps on your kitchen,
remove scum from your bathroom drain or clean the seemingly unreachable parts of your sink. The
brush has the same capabilities of a rough cleaning pad, and so it works exactly the same way. For
those who have kids, use thy toothbrush as a mighty tool in removing bubble gum stains off your
precious little ones' clothing and beat the struggle of doing so. If you have quite a number of laptops
and keyboards in the house, use your old toothbrush to remove the grit and crumbs that have been
stuck underneath and in–between keyboard keys as if you have a miniaturized vacuum cleaner that
won't cost you a fortune. Toothbrush can also be a gentler way to clean and disinfect your antique
and expensive jewelries because it can seep on even the smallest locks and holes.
Be creative enough in introducing toothbrush's aid on your daily kitchen dramas. For the little husk
hairs of your corn cob, get a brand new toothbrush and be delighted on how these silky strands fall
off with ease. Keep your coffee maker filters free of any excess coffee grounds by getting the power
of your toothbrush's small and fine tips working. Your can opener might be an awesome kitchen tool
at its best but when used overtime, this can be saturated with grime and food marks. Soak it in soapy
water and with a few swish of your toothbrush, flip it like it's a brand new kitchen

Rhetorical Analysis Of Colgate 's ' Colgate Palmolive...
Persuasion is a part of our everyday lives. Whether we are persuading our mother, using persuasion
through speech, or threw advertisements, we are using rhetoric strategies to get the response we
desire. With the help of minor details in many advertisements, Ethos, Logos, and Pathos are a way
of persuading the audience to buy or think a certain way. A Colgate toothbrush commercial used
Logos, Pathos and Ethos to spread the word that they have the best toothbrush of all, in which they
target everyone who has teeth. Through the use of advertisements, Colgate has convinced the world
that they have the best toothbrushes, they're even recommended by dentists.
Colgate as a company strives to be the best company to have the best dental products. In an article

companies that provide dental care products to the consumer." Colgate as a company is expanding
their products. Colgate was once only known for selling toothpaste, but now they have a wide

What Is The Malfunction Essay
Thursday the 31st of August, I, Heather Scott had the pleasure and privilege to do an external
clinical rotation at the army base Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. During orientation, we were
flattered to be told that by doing so we are providing a service for our country.
I saw four soldiers as my patients. The dentist would do a brief external and internal exam, palpating
lymph nodes and checking pocket depths. I hand scaled and used the cavitron when working with all
my patients. I polished, flossed and applied a melon flavored varnish sealant. I disliked that the
polish was not 'fine grit,' and would have to research and provide such evidence if I were to ever to
be responsible myself for the best care of patients. Somewhere along my ... Show more content on

My patient and I discussed ways to manage flossing with a lingual retainer as my patient stated he
dislikes flossing. He seemed very receptive to the idea of a water flosser. Another patient was very
interested that he could prevent decay from progressing into a cavity that would require a filling, if
he were to follow my instructions in how not to just stick the floss straight in–between the teeth. I
showed him how the floss can hug the tooth and glide into the gums and not hurt.
This opportunity, having been given leeway to just 'do,' allowed me to realize that I would be able to
appreciate the use of my loupes. All other times, when smothered in my personal protective
equipment, I could never imagine adding one more ounce of equipment to my person and the
inevitability of its malfunction. My loupes and their usage have always been seen only as another
hindrance in situations where I am already uncomfortable and unsure. Due to the light calculus
levels seen in the patents I was given to work with, I see the need for best conditions, such as light
and malfunction. I am eager to go back, bring and use my loupes, and wipe them down with Sani–
Cloths. I see how quickly I could work with no fear of 'is this right?' Given my own slack to just my
job, I could easily get through a patient's cleaning within an hour. I liked how I was just able to grab
whatever instrument I had and find a way to make it work. I enjoyed using

Flossing Informative Speech
Most of us know that brushing and flossing go hand–in–hand when it comes to good oral health.
Brushing with a minty toothpaste makes our mouths feel fresh so it's easy to remember to include it
in our daily routine; but flossing is often an afterthought – if it's a thought at all. If you visit your
dental clinic in Frisco TX twice a year for your checkups, your dentist or hygienist likely asks if
you're remembering to floss and you know you usually answer "yes" even though you really can't
remember the last time you did it. What's the big deal with flossing? Is it really that important?
Dental plaque is basically a biofilm made up of the bacteria that live in your mouth. The film
adheres to your teeth and gums. When you feed the bacteria carbohydrates, like those found in
sugar, milk, soft drinks, candy and cake, they not only multiply faster, they produce an acid that
leads to tooth decay and gum disease. When you visit your dental clinic in Frisco TX, they will tell
you that the longer this acidic plaque remains on your teeth, the more likely you'll develop cavities
or gum disease. They'll also tell you how important it is to remove as much of this plaque film as
possible with thorough brushing at least twice a day and flossing once a day. ... Show more content

The key to flossing is taking the time to do it right and reach all the areas you need to reach. In fact,
how well you floss is more important than when you floss although the commonly–held wisdom

washes away bacteria is reduced so a nice, clean mouth is a good thing to go to sleep

Tooth Decay Is An Imbalance Of Mineral Loss And Replacement
Tooth Decay
Tooth decay is an imbalance of mineral loss and replacement within a tooth over time in response to
acid attacks on a daily basis. These acid attacks are a direct result of food and drink consumption
resulting in cavities and decay. The cavity and tooth decay process can be prevented by working
closely with a professional dentist and following a thorough at–home dental health routine. Eating
the correct foods at the right times and avoiding certain snacks can all help to prevent tooth decay.
So let's take a look at tooth decay and the actual process itself.
Tooth decay is the formation of cavities or dental caries as they're also known. The process involves
three major factors including food and/or beverages consumed, the ... Show more content on

This series of attacks and rebuilds is much like a tug of war in your mouth. It's also a way of the
body protecting itself from everyday problems. In order to help prevent tooth decay we must first
understand it fully and a great way to begin is to look at each of the three main factors in closer
detail.
The three main factors in tooth decay
Food and Drink – when food and drink is consumed over an extended period of time between meals,
the balance between remineralisation and demineralisation can tip in favour of tooth decay. Sticky
foods such as caramel and raisins are particularly adept at causing acid attacks that become too
much for saliva to prevent and repair. Eating these foods during a meal however allows for the tug–
of–war scenario to become a winning situation for a person and their teeth. A scenario in which
tooth decay can occur rather rapidly happens to be when children are allowed to fall asleep with a
bottle. This can be the same if a bottle is given to them for them to carry around too. Whether it
contains milk, juice or another drink, bacteria can use them all to produce acids and this is known as
"baby bottle tooth decay". In order to help prevent tooth decay, you must limit the intake of sugary
and sticky foods along with sweetened beverages between your meals.
Bacteria in Plaque – plaque on your teeth should be removed by your toothbrush and floss everyday.
Usually, in the majority of cases a clean tooth

Oral Health Disparity Essay
The first health disparity I would like to discuss is Oral health interventions among Hispanics,
especially among Hispanic children. An article, "Community–based oral health self–care
intervention for Hispanic families", By Hull and other authors, focuses on monitories who are at
high risk for poor oral health have dental caries, oral disease and not having much access to dental
care based on their socioeconomic status Hull, 2013). The authors have properly addressed the
health disparities in this article. They started the article by telling the audience why Hispanic faces
health disparities the most. First, due to the language barrier they have insufficient knowledge of
oral health. Most the people who participated in this study were immigrants, Spanish. Only 2/3 of
the people spoke and understood little to no English. Second, because of the poverty they have can't
afford dental health and avoid going to see the dentist. ¾ of the parents received an income of
$2,000 or under per month. Third, many of the families did not have any type of dental insurance.
The program called the CHP came up with many ways to make it successful. Education is the key

The First Trip I Went On Campus At San Diego State University
The first trip I went on was a community outreach trip to the children's daycare, on campus at San
Diego State University. This being my first trip, I was not sure what to expect. Initially, I did not
think the children would be interested in oral hygiene, however, since we promoted healthy oral
hygiene through games, the children were fascinated in what we had to say and show them. It was
shocking how few of these children knew how to properly floss and teaching them how to was
definitely a challenge. Most of the kids were unable to grip the floss with both of their tiny hands
but it was admirable how much determination they had despite their struggles, and it showed how
much they really wanted to learn how to floss. Even though most of the children were actively
participating, there were some who were very shy and too timid to participate, which made me
realize that when I am dentist I will often be working with children who are very shy and I have to
make sure that they are comfortable around me. Ultimately, this trip showed me that I am going to
be working with hundreds of patients, none of which are the same and it will be my job to do
whatever I can to make them comfortable in my office and care. The second trip I attended, which
was a TRACE trip, was another very rewarding experience. The adults we were presenting to were
so eager to learn and participate, it was enlightening how excited they were. One thing I especially
liked about this trip was that Sam brought

Persuasive Essay On Flossing
Growing up going to the dentist we have all been told to always floss our teeth. You may remember
going through those gruesome appointments where the dentist are flossing our teeth for us and it
kind of hurts, feels weird, maybe even made our gums feel rubbery. And every few minutes when
they are flossing our teeth; they make us take the tube out our mouth that's sucking all the saliva in
our mouth and spit in the little bowl. In that spit, if you haven't been flossing you usually see a lot of
blood come out. And it doesn't stop. Then when you leave they give you a little bag of dental
goodies for you to have. If you were like myself growing up, you probably forgot all the time. And it
was an endless cycle at the dentist. Because of this I have spent a great amount of time this past
month on flossing and why you should take time to properly floss your teeth every day. According
to, US News they had an article published by Steve Sternberg in 2013 where they stated that on a
national level those who floss daily amount to 30 percent of the population. Just over 37 percent
report less than daily flossing; slightly over 32 percent say they never floss. This means that only 30
percent of people nationally floss at least once a day. And the other 70 percent of people floss here
and there or not at all. This is very sad and disturbing because according to Lisa Zamosky on Web
MD in 2014 flossing does about 40 percent of the work required to remove sticky bacteria, or
plaque, from

Healthy Dental Habits Include Flossing
A Family Dentist in Red Deer Helps Instill Good Oral Hygiene in Children
Getting your child started with a proper oral hygiene plan is critical to his or her health. In fact, even
pre–school age children may require oral surgery if they don't implement the right habits. By
teaching your child to regularly brush and floss now, you can help him or her avoid many dental
issues in the future.
It is not unusual for a parent to doubt the necessity of flossing for a child. This could be a tragic
mistake to make. If your child does not start flossing as early as possible, he or she could manifest
preventable cavities. Additionally, neglecting to floss may result in gum disease and loss of adult
teeth later ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here are some tips on flossing from your local dentists:
Why Flossing Is Important: Brushing every day is essential, but it isn't as effective as daily brushing
and flossing. Although a toothbrush works to remove plaque, it cannot reach between the teeth or
underneath the gums. Your child needs dental floss to access those areas. Neglecting to floss enables
harmful bacteria to grow there. That growth may result in many oral health problems.
Display a Chart: Children respond positively to visual cues, so consider hanging a printable flossing
chart with a calendar in your bathroom. You can give your child a sticker to reward him or her for
flossing on a daily basis. Let your child place the stickers on the calendar to reflect every flossing
session.
Floss with Your Child: To further promote this healthy habit, floss with your child every day. Show
your child how to floss, and then, floss your own teeth along with him or her. If you are unsure
about how to demonstrate flossing to your little one, ask your Red Deer dentist for guidance. Your
family dentist can show your child how to floss, as well as offer tips for assisting him or her at

The Things They Carried By Tim O ' Brien
Every one of us has experienced a strong emotional fear, and in that moment of stress, we learn
more about who we are. The short story "The Things They Carried", by Tim O'Brien, follows the
lives of soldiers trying to survive the emotional and physical stresses of the Vietnam War.
Throughout the story, O'Brien juxtaposes the physical weight of the supplies that the soldiers must
carry with the immeasurable weight of their intense emotional experiences. The theme of "The
Things They Carried" is the burden of fear, which O'Brien portrays through the counter–weight of
objects the soldiers cling to for consolation and escape. Some men turn to objects that remind them
of love, no matter how unlikely it is that they are loved back. Other men ... Show more content on

Love is a powerful force, and Lieutenant Cross sometimes gets lost in his musings while thinking of
Martha. O'Brien writes: "His mind wandered. He had difficulty keeping his attention on the war. On
occasion he would yell at his men to spread out the column, to keep their eyes open, but then he
would slip away into daydreams, just pretending, walking barefoot along the Jersey shore, with
Martha, carrying nothing." Like any sane person in his situation, Lieutenant Cross wants to escape –
to anywhere else but the war. The war brings terrible experiences – fear, death, hunger, and pain
beyond imagination. The only way that Lieutenant Cross can endure these things is by escaping to
an imaginary life with Martha. Although to her, he is little more than a friend, to Lieutenant Cross,
Martha represents innocence, perfection, and a world free from war.
While Lieutenant Jimmy Cross turns to love, other men turn to physical objects they carry for
comfort. Henry Dobbins, an overweight man, finds comfort in food. Dobbins greatly enjoys eating
food and uses food in the same manner that Lieutenant Cross uses love. No matter what happens
each day during the war, as long as Dobbins can carry his pack and survive, at the end of the day he
will be able to enjoy peaches in heavy syrup over pound cake. Dobbins also carries a heavy M–60
machine gun with extra ammo, for when the

was sure the General would turn a blind eye if it was an improvement. He had to admit that luck had

Brushing Vs Fllossing
What comes first, brushing or flossing?
It's time to puzzle this out because people have been arguing about which comes first; brushing or
flossing? Many say that brushing before flossing is the proper way of cleaning the teeth, while
others argue that flossing before brushing makes the teeth healthier.
Truth is, either of the two comes first is correct. The best way to remove decay–causing plaque and
obtain best oral health is through thorough cleaning, and not by the sequence between brushing and
flossing.
So the right question is supposed to be:
How to thoroughly clean your teeth using toothbrush and floss?
Brushing
First, choose a toothbrush that is comfortable both to your hand and in your mouth, and use it twice
a day for at least two minutes. Place the toothbrush against your gums at a 45–degree angle. Brush
first the outer tooth surfaces by moving the brush back and forth in a gently manner, with tooth wide
strokes. Then, brush the inner tooth surfaces and the chewing surfaces of the teeth, including the
inside surfaces of the front teeth. Make sure that you also brush your tongue in order to remove
bacteria that can cause bad breath. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flossing
Brushing your teeth is best paired with flossing because these two work together to achieve better
oral health care. Your toothbrush can't completely remove the plaque from your teeth so you need
the help of floss. The floss cleans between the teeth, thus removing all remaining debris stuck inside.
It cleans the part beyond the reach of your toothbrush.
Pull an 18 to 24 length dental floss from your floss dispenser, and then wrap its ends around your
index and middle fingers. Hold the floss tightly around each tooth in a C shape. Next, move it back
and forth in a push–pull motion and up and down against the side of each

Personal Statement : The Unlucky Runner
Unlucky Runner
"John McBernette, please stay after class," my english teacher ordered a few seconds before the bell.
Suspecting I had been caught yet once again pulling a prank on my friend, I cursed the day she was
born silently while sulking deeper into my seat. As I stood standing in front of her desk, awaiting her
almost daily lecture, I realized that my life was not hot and spicy like I always imagined it to be at
my present age. However, that was five years ago. Since that day I have been running, running from
the biggest known hitman agency. It all started when I got home that day after school. I walked up
the two flights of stairs into my empty apartment. An old, run–down, red bricked, twentieth century
building. I crumpled the parent–teacher note I usually got, and tossed it into the trash. With my luck
I probably missed, so I made my way back to the crumpled paper on the ground and put it into the
trash, once again hitting the edge of the trash can and falling down.
"Damn," I said casually to myself, "my luck is really off today."
I was beginning to crave an after school snack, deciding toast would be the best choice, as there
wasn't much that could go wrong while making toast. Unfortunately, the toast caught fire after being
in the toaster for a minute too long. I started to laugh, thinking I had jinxed myself into eternal
unluckiness. Pouring a cup of water over the small flames was not what I had intended to do, but it
had been an instinct. The flames were

The Implementation Phase Of The Process Of Care
Toothbrushing is a part of the Implementation phase of the process of care. The seven factors I will

frequency and duration of toothbrushing, toothbrush replacement practices, level of satisfaction with
tools and technique, personal values and preferences. These seven factors will make sure all areas of
his oral self–care are discussed and recommendations will be made out of this discussion. There is a
connection between overall health and oral health in an individual. Jay currently is a healthy
individual and he exercises regularly. If he does not improve his oral health it will begin to affect his
overall health. Jay admits to brushing his teeth but does not use any other intraoral aids. Jay needs to

decrease the amount of bacteria in the mouth and improve the overall cleanliness of the oral cavity.
It is important for him to clean his teeth, tongue, gingiva and mucosa because microorganisms in the
oral cavity are found everywhere. A tongue cleaning aid should be introduced to Jay but with his

What Makes Oil Pulling?
Introduction
Oil pulling is a method that is being practiced for a long time and is one of the most effective
methods for fighting against dental diseases like gingivitis, bad oral breath and plaque. This is a
traditional method for curing dental floss and dates back to 3000 years. Having been originated from
Ayurveda techniques, this is one of the best home remedy that has been tried and tested successfully.
It involves the use of oil, preferably from coconut, sesame or sunflower and the oil is gargled and
kept it in the mouth for about 20 minutes before spitting it out. This is not a method that is based on
pseudo–science that has no specific science theory to back it up, it is based on the principle that the

Experts suggests that the patient should take the oil early in the morning before breakfast i.e. on the
empty stomach and swishing the oil thus rinsing the mouth walls and gums, for fifteen to twenty
minutes at least. When the oil comes in contact with saliva it absorbs the toxic and germs that is
causing the infection and therefore the oil under no circumstances must be swallowed. The oil which
is generally yellow will turn thin and white once it has pulled enough germs and toxins. Once it has
turned thin and white it can be spitted and mouth cavities must be thoroughly rinsed using tooth
brush or fingers. If any allergic reactions are seen when using particular oil the brand must be
changed if that does not help the oil itself have to be changed to another type. Sesame oil and sun
flower oils are fund to be the most effective against the germs than other oils. However the health
claims and the extent of effect of the oil pulling have not been studied and are not backed up by a
strong scientific support or claim. National Centre for Health Research states that the extent of
effectiveness of the oil pulling technique is not verified and the presence of any long term effect is
also unknown.
However oil pulling method have become popular due to it 's simplicity and nature. This kind of

Toothbrush manufacturers have poured millions of dollars and hours, to marry form and function in
oral health care products that enable their users to brush frequently, comfortably, and above all,
properly. Along the way, they have built the U.S. oral care market into a $2.9 billion industry,
changed the brushing habits of millions and turned the lowly toothbrush into a trendy lifestyle

3. What are the arguments for launching Precision as a) a niche product and b) a mainstream brand?
• Launching Precision as a niche product:
Niche positioning focuses on customers who care about the prevention of gum diseases. As such, it
could command a 15% price premium over Oral–B and would be expected to capture 3% of the
U.S. toothbrush market by the end of the first year following its launch. Steinberg believed that with
a niche positioning, Precision retail sales would represent 3% volume share of the toothbrush market
in year 1 and 5% in year.
Under a niche positioning strategy, Steinberg decided that CP would establish a factory list price to
the trade of $2.13, a premium over Oral–B regular and at parity with Oral–B Indicator. If the
company decided to position the Precision toothbrush as a niche product many positive benefits
would appear:
1. Precision toothbrush is more advanced and is characterized for its technological superiority over
its competitors. Because of that, Colgate–Palmolive can be able to differentiate and promote
something new to the market.
2. Colgate–Palmolive would be able to charge premium prices if targeting to customers who are
worried about gum diseases.
3. If the company decided to position the Precision toothbrush as a niche product SKU's would not
decrease.
4. In case of failure of Precision, Colgate could reduce the losses if costs were to decrease.

The most common negative effect was pulmonary aspiration, or the improper ingestion/inhalation of
the powder, as the small particles make it easier for the powder to find its way into places that it can

indecisive.
The hypothesis for the experiment, based on prior research, is that the charcoal will vary in
effectiveness.
Patient Outreach and Preparation
All subjects voluntarily offered to be treated with the AC. Patients were contacted face–to–face and
asked if they would want to participate. Afterwards, they were told to smile and a photo was taken
of their teeth prior to treatment. The volunteers were asked questions about their diet and prior
dental procedures.
Treatment with AC
The patients brushed their teeth with a toothbrush with a single dose of AC applied. They then
rinsed their mouth and brushed their teeth with normal toothpaste. This procedure was repeated

results within the time

Why People Have Braces
First Timer?
You just got out of a room, and metal brackets are on your teeth, waiting to ruin your life. More and
more people these days are getting braces, about 4 million in the U.S. Having braces mean that you
will have to deal with a ton of hardships before having a beautiful smile, though. Although you have
to go through a lot of hardships, it's very rewarding in the end. Lots of adults and kids have braces,
so three things you should know about braces are the foods you can't eat, how painful they are, and
the foods that get stuck in your teeth. Food Problems?!
After you get braces, there are some items you cannot eat. When you have braces, you can't eat any
sticky, chewy, and/or hard food that can potentially break the brackets. Examples of sticky foods are
caramel, some types of candy, and gum. Examples of chewy foods are some types of candy,
sometimes bagels, and hard rolls. Finally, examples of hard foods are popcorn, ice, nuts, and corn
nuts. Although it seems hard, you can still eat plenty of other different types of food, like ice cream,
fruit, steak, and tons of other yummy foods. Stool Orthodontics stated, "If you have braces, there are
some foods you just can't eat because they can damage bend wires and pop brackets. These include:
Popcorn, pizza crust, crusty bread, including bagels, nuts and seeds, ice, beef, jerky, taffy, hard
candy." This shows all the different types of food you cannot eat, and most of these foods are

Wisp Brand Manager

  • 1. Wisp Brand Manager If I were the Brand Manager for Wisp I would target my product toward the younger generation. I would focus on a consumer group of 16–40. With our newer generations more and more people are consumed with the health of their teeth (Weisz, 1994). Oral hygiene is important to people and considering the advancements of today's society, more and more people are constantly going. Teenagers are going to want to try the Wisk due to their need for fresh breath and how their normal oral routine interferes with their busy schedule. Your college age students are even busier than high school students and would be my next group of consumers. After college you are looking at the consumers of 24–40 and some of these consumers are single parents or busy working ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Factors Affecting The Demand For Toothbrushes To assess the factors affecting the demand for toothbrushes in India, a situation analysis has been performed using the 5Cs framework: Context: In 2009, India was the world's largest democracy; with a population of 1.16billion growing at 1.4% per annum, the country suffered from a huge disparity in income with the majority of Indian population (78%) living in rural areas, and as many as 80% living under $2 per day. The 78% who lived in rural areas accounted for c. 64% of total expenditures in India. Around 50% of the Indian population did not have sufficient awareness of dental healthcare, and did not associate dental problems with improper care but rather to eating habits or genetics; most of these Indians were using natural remedies as chewing twigs from the Neem tree. Among the remaining population who used modern dental healthcare or a toothbrush, 77% brushed their teeth less than twice a day (recommended usage), and out of the 747.1million brushes sold every year, only 8.6% replaced their brush every 3 months. Cottle–Taylor (CT) enjoyed a large market share in India and focused on toothbrushes. Given the peculiarities of the market, CT decided to focus on toothbrushes where it enjoys larger gross margins by virtue of its existing manufacturing infrastructure that has been built over the years. Customers: Given the composition of the Indian population described earlier, the customers are typically price sensitive with not much disposable income. The majority of ... • 3. Flossing Research Paper Everything You Need To Know About Flossing Taking care of your teeth goes beyond just brushing twice a day. It is equally important that you floss every day as well. Brushing will help get the plaque off your teeth that is on the front and back surfaces, and it will help remove the food particles and bacteria that are hiding between your teeth. Flossing also plays a role in reducing your risk of gum disease, tooth decay, and controls bad breath. Unfortunately, many people do not know how they should be flossing their teeth. Picking the right type of flossing and using the correct movements can make a huge difference in your oral health. Here is everything you need to know about flossing. Picking the Right Type of Floss Flossing starts with selecting a type ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Start by unraveling enough floss so that it is approximately an arms length long. Wrap most of the floss around one middle finger, and leave a couple inches free to wrap around the middle finger on the opposite hand. You'll be discarding the floss as you go by unraveling it around the finger on one hand and wrapping it around the finger on the opposite hand. Every tooth should get a new section of dental floss so that it is free of any bacteria. Glide your dental floss between the teeth by using your index finger and thumb. You'll want to use a gentle motion that goes up and down rather than back and forth. You'll need to curve your dental floss against the tooth so that it slides into the space where the tooth meets the gums. Keep the floss close to the teeth, and try to avoid irritating the papilla, which is the part of the gums that sticks up between your teeth. With these tips in mind, you'll be sure to have teeth and gums that are in better health for your next dental cleaning. For more advice about flossing, ask a dentist during your next cleaning at Treman & Treman Family Dental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Dental Floss Research Paper Have you ever been in the dentist office when your gums started bleeding? Most likely, the dental hygienist told you that this happened because you don't floss enough! Though this isn't true, there are still plenty of benefits to practicing good dental care and flossing regularly. Here's some reasons to NOT give up on dental floss, all from Cincinnati's top dentists at Lowitz and Meier! Recently, there have been a slew of rumors floating around the internet claiming that flossing your teeth is not necessary for optimal dental care. However, these rumors are far from the truth! In fact, they are all stemming from one publishing error that happened last year. In 2015, the Food and Drug Administration issued their yearly dietary guidelines. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Top Five Top Five – Anti–Aging Tips There are five things that everyone can do today that will slow down the aging process. They are relatively quick and quite easy. As mothers and keepers of the home these are the five things that you should start doing today to keep premature aging away. After all, we may be the ones raising and caring our family but we want to look good too! 1) Wear your Sunglasses 2) Take Care of Your Smile 3) Know your Number 4) Take your Vitamins 5) Challenge Yourself Wear your Sunglasses All that squinting from the sun 's rays will cause premature wrinkles to appear around the delicate eye area. Do yourself and your eyes a favor and take your sunglasses with you as you head out the door. If you are still considering going out and "running" your errands sans sunglasses, think about this: There is an increased risk of cataracts and macular degeneration due to sun damage that can occur. Don 't forget to wear your sunglasses in the winter months too! Take Care of Your Smile One of the easiest things that you can do for yourself is to take care of your smile. That means seeing the dentist at least twice a year for your dental check–ups, brushing your teeth at least twice a day (in the morning and before you go to bed), and flossing regularly. Did you know that dental decay can lead to cardiovascular disease? In addition, use a whitening toothpaste daily to nix coffee, tea and other superficial food stains from those pearly whites. Teeth whitening kits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Solution For The Problem Solution Problem Solution The solution for the problem we observe is to design a product that has floss connecting to the toothbrush. That way, people who "forget" will be reminded to include this in their everyday routine. The consumers would be able to take the floss out. We think this is going to be the outcome because 30% of adults say they do not have it in handy, now they do! Conclusion Our solution was successful, but there was some things that could be fixed. Our suggested solution to the problem was successful because we were able to remove the floss successfully, keep the dental floss cutter in place, and we were able to remind the user to floss. When we tested this product, there was some things that could have been improved. When in use, water got to the bottom, and slightly removed the glue. To fix this, we could put a cover at the end, so it would prevent the water from going in. It was also difficult to take the floss out of the product, but it was possible. Next time, we could make an opening big enough so users do not have a problem with taking the floss out. Some possible problems noticed in the test is that the floss could slip to the very bottom, and it would be extremely difficult to get out. To fix this, we could put a slit near the dental floss cutter to prevent the floss from accidentally going to the bottom. Another difficulty that is most likely to come off is having to ... • 7. Dental Hygiene Career As a final journal, I will explain what events made an impression on my dental hygiene career as well as how the community was affected positively and negatively. What went well in all of the presented presentation; knowing the information, having an attentive audience, and presenting with confidence. Our first presentation was at the Red Apple adult center, we had props to help clarify the information. Information presented was descriptive to distinguish each section of the presentation. At the end of the presentation, we played a game called spine and show. The did very well by responding to all questions. When it all done and over, we received hugs and a lot of questions about stains on teeth. Another point that worked well during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adding addition topics to groups would have been an overload of information. Claude pepper, I believe that information was just too much. I think we lost our audience within five minutes of our presentation. Not because of the presenting but mainly because of the medical condition of our audience. In addition to my individual presentation, I think I could have added hygiene as a career information. These young mothers would have benefited to know about the hygiene career. Add a slide in my presentation going over flexibility and pay scale. Eliminating any topics from our group's presentation, I did not see the need. All topics were done according to our audience needs. At red apple center, we cover denture care, nutrition, OHI. The we attended probably didn't need denture care. As a group we covered it due to the request of the director. These topics was requested by the site's director, who know what our audience needed to focus on. This course needs no change. I would like to suggest, setting up a table on Tuesday during PHSC lunch, letting the student be aware of our smoking and drugs and OHI care of our local student. Our PHSC students are unaware of our clinic and work we provide to our community. Setting up a table will allow students to be informed of their oral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. What Is Tooth Decay In The 50's By examining three of the commercials from the 1950s, we can conclude what the initial perceived dental problem was in the era. In each of the commercials I analyzed, the issue of tooth decay was mentioned repeatedly. I examined the 1956 Pepsodent commercial, the 1950s Colgate Dental Cream commercial, and the 1956 Crest commercial. The competing companies all had a similar substantive characteristic in that they used science and scientific terms to sway their consumers. In the particular situation of tooth decay, all of the rhetors chose science and special terminology that would cause a response in their audience. It is hard to argue against "science" after all. Beginning with the 1956 Pepsodent commercial we see that the "scientific" formula is used but not explained. According to the cartoon images in the commercial, I.M.P. cleans the teeth and removes the yellow stains, while "Irium" fights tooth decay. The science behind these products in the toothpaste formula is not mentioned. However, the audience can see the "cause and effect" in relation to those two ingredients. By using Pepsodent and its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It did, however, have a "professional dentist" advising his patient to use that particular brand. The "dentist" repeatedly stated that Colgate Dental Cream proved with scientific evidence that it stops tooth decay "best." The dentist continues to say that no other toothpaste has "proved so completely" with dental research that Colgate stops tooth decay and bad breath. Again, just like the Pepsodent commercial, we see that scientific formula (though we have not been told how or with what) Colgate leads to physical attraction and kissing. In this commercial, an explanation of anything is not needed, because there is a supposed trusted professional telling the audience that the evidence exists. Use the toothpaste that has backed scientific research and get the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Brushing Thy Teeth Research Paper Brushing thy teeth is such an indispensable part of our daily existence that whenever we miss doing it, we felt like missing a friend or have lost an important accessory. We do this twice or thrice a day and it will be no surprise to have seen our toothbrushes wither away like an old–aged woman. Dentists have instructed and advised everyone to replace our toothbrush at least every two months and once a toothbrush's life is done, it is doomed to be trash. The cost of a single, generic toothbrush might be something that we can earn in a minute and purchasing a new one won't even budge the budget, but if you're the resourceful type, you'd surely think twice before throwing it away. Have you heard of recycling? Yes, well this can also apply to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The slim nature and head of your toothbrush is capable of scrubbing tile gaps on your kitchen, remove scum from your bathroom drain or clean the seemingly unreachable parts of your sink. The brush has the same capabilities of a rough cleaning pad, and so it works exactly the same way. For those who have kids, use thy toothbrush as a mighty tool in removing bubble gum stains off your precious little ones' clothing and beat the struggle of doing so. If you have quite a number of laptops and keyboards in the house, use your old toothbrush to remove the grit and crumbs that have been stuck underneath and in–between keyboard keys as if you have a miniaturized vacuum cleaner that won't cost you a fortune. Toothbrush can also be a gentler way to clean and disinfect your antique and expensive jewelries because it can seep on even the smallest locks and holes. Be creative enough in introducing toothbrush's aid on your daily kitchen dramas. For the little husk hairs of your corn cob, get a brand new toothbrush and be delighted on how these silky strands fall off with ease. Keep your coffee maker filters free of any excess coffee grounds by getting the power of your toothbrush's small and fine tips working. Your can opener might be an awesome kitchen tool at its best but when used overtime, this can be saturated with grime and food marks. • 10. Rhetorical Analysis Of Colgate 's ' Colgate Palmolive... Persuasion is a part of our everyday lives. Whether we are persuading our mother, using persuasion through speech, or threw advertisements, we are using rhetoric strategies to get the response we desire. With the help of minor details in many advertisements, Ethos, Logos, and Pathos are a way of persuading the audience to buy or think a certain way. A Colgate toothbrush commercial used Logos, Pathos and Ethos to spread the word that they have the best toothbrush of all, in which they target everyone who has teeth. Through the use of advertisements, Colgate has convinced the world that they have the best toothbrushes, they're even recommended by dentists. Colgate as a company strives to be the best company to have the best dental products. In an article from the website live strong Norma Chew wrote, "Colgate Palmolive Company is one of many companies that provide dental care products to the consumer." Colgate as a company is expanding their products. Colgate was once only known for selling toothpaste, but now they have a wide variety of dental products to promote clean teeth. The advertisement of the Colgate toothbrush shows the positivity of the toothbrush. The advertisement is on a red background. • 11. What Is The Malfunction Essay Thursday the 31st of August, I, Heather Scott had the pleasure and privilege to do an external clinical rotation at the army base Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. During orientation, we were flattered to be told that by doing so we are providing a service for our country. I saw four soldiers as my patients. The dentist would do a brief external and internal exam, palpating lymph nodes and checking pocket depths. I hand scaled and used the cavitron when working with all my patients. I polished, flossed and applied a melon flavored varnish sealant. I disliked that the polish was not 'fine grit,' and would have to research and provide such evidence if I were to ever to be responsible myself for the best care of patients. Somewhere along my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My patient and I discussed ways to manage flossing with a lingual retainer as my patient stated he dislikes flossing. He seemed very receptive to the idea of a water flosser. Another patient was very interested that he could prevent decay from progressing into a cavity that would require a filling, if he were to follow my instructions in how not to just stick the floss straight in–between the teeth. I showed him how the floss can hug the tooth and glide into the gums and not hurt. This opportunity, having been given leeway to just 'do,' allowed me to realize that I would be able to appreciate the use of my loupes. All other times, when smothered in my personal protective equipment, I could never imagine adding one more ounce of equipment to my person and the inevitability of its malfunction. My loupes and their usage have always been seen only as another hindrance in situations where I am already uncomfortable and unsure. • 15. Flossing Informative Speech Most of us know that brushing and flossing go hand–in–hand when it comes to good oral health. Brushing with a minty toothpaste makes our mouths feel fresh so it's easy to remember to include it in our daily routine; but flossing is often an afterthought – if it's a thought at all. If you visit your dental clinic in Frisco TX twice a year for your checkups, your dentist or hygienist likely asks if you're remembering to floss and you know you usually answer "yes" even though you really can't remember the last time you did it. What's the big deal with flossing? Is it really that important? Dental plaque is basically a biofilm made up of the bacteria that live in your mouth. The film adheres to your teeth and gums. When you feed the bacteria carbohydrates, like those found in sugar, milk, soft drinks, candy and cake, they not only multiply faster, they produce an acid that leads to tooth decay and gum disease. When you visit your dental clinic in Frisco TX, they will tell you that the longer this acidic plaque remains on your teeth, the more likely you'll develop cavities or gum disease. They'll also tell you how important it is to remove as much of this plaque film as possible with thorough brushing at least twice a day and flossing once a day. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This series of attacks and rebuilds is much like a tug of war in your mouth. It's also a way of the body protecting itself from everyday problems. In order to help prevent tooth decay we must first understand it fully and a great way to begin is to look at each of the three main factors in closer detail. The three main factors in tooth decay Food and Drink – when food and drink is consumed over an extended period of time between meals, the balance between remineralisation and demineralisation can tip in favour of tooth decay. Sticky foods such as caramel and raisins are particularly adept at causing acid attacks that become too much for saliva to prevent and repair. Eating these foods during a meal however allows for the tug– of–war scenario to become a winning situation for a person and their teeth. A scenario in which tooth decay can occur rather rapidly happens to be when children are allowed to fall asleep with a bottle. This can be the same if a bottle is given to them for them to carry around too. Whether it contains milk, juice or another drink, bacteria can use them all to produce acids and this is known as "baby bottle tooth decay". It was shocking how few of these children knew how to properly floss and teaching them how to was definitely a challenge. Most of the kids were unable to grip the floss with both of their tiny hands but it was admirable how much determination they had despite their struggles, and it showed how much they really wanted to learn how to floss. Even though most of the children were actively participating, there were some who were very shy and too timid to participate, which made me realize that when I am dentist I will often be working with children who are very shy and I have to make sure that they are comfortable around me. Ultimately, this trip showed me that I am going to be working with hundreds of patients, none of which are the same and it will be my job to do whatever I can to make them comfortable in my office and care. • 26. Persuasive Essay On Flossing Growing up going to the dentist we have all been told to always floss our teeth. You may remember going through those gruesome appointments where the dentist are flossing our teeth for us and it kind of hurts, feels weird, maybe even made our gums feel rubbery. And every few minutes when they are flossing our teeth; they make us take the tube out our mouth that's sucking all the saliva in our mouth and spit in the little bowl. In that spit, if you haven't been flossing you usually see a lot of blood come out. And it doesn't stop. Then when you leave they give you a little bag of dental goodies for you to have. If you were like myself growing up, you probably forgot all the time. And it was an endless cycle at the dentist. Because of this I have spent a great amount of time this past month on flossing and why you should take time to properly floss your teeth every day. According to, US News they had an article published by Steve Sternberg in 2013 where they stated that on a national level those who floss daily amount to 30 percent of the population. Just over 37 percent report less than daily flossing; slightly over 32 percent say they never floss. This means that only 30 percent of people nationally floss at least once a day. And the other 70 percent of people floss here and there or not at all. Suspecting I had been caught yet once again pulling a prank on my friend, I cursed the day she was born silently while sulking deeper into my seat. As I stood standing in front of her desk, awaiting her almost daily lecture, I realized that my life was not hot and spicy like I always imagined it to be at my present age. However, that was five years ago. Since that day I have been running, running from the biggest known hitman agency. It all started when I got home that day after school. I walked up the two flights of stairs into my empty apartment. An old, run–down, red bricked, twentieth century building. I crumpled the parent–teacher note I usually got, and tossed it into the trash. With my luck I probably missed, so I made my way back to the crumpled paper on the ground and put it into the trash, once again hitting the edge of the trash can and falling down. "Damn," I said casually to myself, "my luck is really off today."
