kids Rex or X–ray is the leader, Magnet is a thief he got his nickname because he says his fingers are like magnets. There is also Zigzag, Armpit,
Squid, and Zero. Zigzag, Armpit, and Squid are very muscular and tough from spending so many days at Camp Green Lake, they also are very

Louis Armstrong was born on August 4, 1901 in a poor area of New Orleans, Louisiana nicknamed "The Battlefield". His father supported the
family by working in a factory but he left soon after Armstrong was born. His mother then supported them by prostitution and leaving him with his
grandmother. Armstrong left school in the fifth grade to work for a Jewish family by collecting junk and delivering coal. After firing a gun in the
air as part of a New Year's celebration in 1912, Armstrong was arrested. He was sent to the Colored Waif's Home for Boys. It was there he first
learned how to play the cornet and discovered his love for music. In 1914 the home let him go and he began to work odd jobs such as selling
newspapers and hauling coal while continuing to play music. People began to recognize him as a great blues player and one of the best cornet
players in town, Joe "King" Oliver began to mentor and teach Armstrong more about music. In 1918 he replaced a musician in Kid Ory's band,
which was the most popular band in New Orleans at the time. Because of this he was finally able to quit his odd jobs and focus all his attention to
music. In 1919 Armstrong played on riverboats during the summer months with a band led by Fate Marable. He also encountered Bix Beiderbecke

The different backgrounds of John, Cornelia, Lou, and Samuel would affect their ability to adjust to the end of the war. As "they stepped across the
threshold between the old world and the new" (Ash Location 69), each would experience varying degrees of despair, hope, and restlessness. For John
Robertson, it was his friends, family, and search for spiritual fulfillment that would play a major role in his ability to adjust. Louis Hughes a slave used
the skills he learned as a manservant from Edmund McGehee, and his unwavering desire to truly become free that greatly helped his ability to
adjust to daily life during and after the war. Cornelia McDonald grew up being waited on by slaves, but her social status and the few skills she
learned would help her to survive on the verge of poverty and despair. Samuel Agnew had what many at the time would say was a life of ease, but

Jazz Music And Its Influence On The Music
Jazz music as we know it today has evolved since the early twentieth century. Its' evolution is due to the influence of many different players who have
added their own styles, interpretations and techniques. Two masters of Jazz who have been a big influence on the music are cornet and trumpet player,
Louis Armstrong, and piano player, band leader and arranger, Duke Ellington. Each came from different socio–economic and geographical
backgrounds, but both became masters of their trade, reached worldwide fame and became legends of the music. There is much legend attached
to the story of Louis Armstrong, this is mainly due to the fact that Louis was quite liberal with the truth of his beginnings and often contradicted
his own stories. If we were to take his word for it, Louis was born Daniel Louis Armstrong in James Alley, on the fourth of July, 1900. However, by
piecing together what little facts are known, it can be proved that he was not given the name Daniel, nor was he born on the first American
Independence Day nor was he born in James Alley. It is still difficult to state with any certainty an accurate date for Louis' birth. To quote one source

"Come on Louis, just tip your head back." Niall hissed. The other omega groaned and began to splash at the dirty tub water. Liam looked over his
shoulder and frowned. He could see that his own omega was becoming frustrated. Like expected Louis was being difficult. He was beginning to wish
Ed had given him more medication to make him sleep longer, it would certainly make it easier to get things done. Even though Louis couldn't walk well
yet, refused to speak, and was still quite out of it he managed to still be sassy.
All Louis wanted to do is sleep. Liam knew he was tired but he needed to feed him, bathe him, and take him on bathroom breaks. He didn't quite
understand why Louis was being difficult but he decided to give it a few more days. The boy had only been back at the cabin for about three days
now. They had found him Friday night and he officially returned to the cabin early Saturday morning. It was Tuesday night now and things weren't
looking much better.

Small Steps By Louis Sachar
Have you ever read or watched the movie, "Holes"? Who was your favorite character? Wow! Armpit? Well today must be your lucky day because in
the book Small Steps by Louis Sachar, it revolves around Armpit's life! To start off, one of my favorite quotes in the story would be,"This is Theodore
Johnson," (Sachar, 2). I know you may be thinking,"What's so significant about this quote? Thing is, in Holes, everyone called him Armpit. We never
actually knew what his real name was, but now we do. You might be curious about his nickname Armpit, where did that come from? Well one day
at Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correction Center, Theodore aka Armpit, got stung by a scorpion and the pain gradually traveled up through his
body and stayed at his armpit. Another quote I enjoyed was, "But I 'm taking small steps 'cause I don 't know where I 'm going. I 'm taking small
steps and I don 't know what to say. Small steps, trying to pull myself together and maybe I 'll discover a clue along the way!" (Sachar, 143).
Personally, I love finding quotes that have the title in it. I feel as if this would be the reason behind the title of the novel. Also this quote showed

ended up being one of my favorite films of all time. I watched it multiple times when it started to come on television. I bought the DVD and then
when I was 10 or 11 in the 5th grade I discovered there was a book. I always had problems when it came to reading, and in 5th grade, all the teachers
came together and presented to the entire 5th grade class a time during the day called DEAR. DEAR is an acronym that stands for "Drop Everything
and Read". I had problems when it came to reading. Not because it was hard, but because I was lazy.
I was never comfortable reading and now the 5th grade teachers expected me to read during DEAR session. We had to finish the book about a

When put to the test, he was able to do extraordinary things. Stanley was not a very fit person. His skin was soft and unused to work, he was large
