2. DIVISION OF WORK
This principle states that a
complex work should be divided into small
task , and each task should be assigned a
particular employee.
3. AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
Authority is the right to give
orders to the subordinates.
Responsibility means
obligation to perform the work in the manner
desired and directed by authority.
9. CENTRALISATION AND
DECENTRALISATION
Centralisation refers to
concentration of authority at one place or
one level in the organisation.
Decentralisation means
dispersal of authority to the lower levels in
the organisation.
10. SCALAR CHAIN
Scalar chain refers to the line
of authority or the chain of superiors starting
from the highest and moving towards the
lowest rank.
11. ORDER
This principle is based on the
general saying , ”Have a place for everything
and keep everything in its place”.

12. EQUITY
Equity implies being just and
loyal to all concern. According to Fayol
employees put in their best when they are
treated in a fair manner doing justice in all
aspects of their jobs.
13. STABILITY OF TENURE
Fayol opinion that managers
and workers should not be shifted from their
positions frequently.
14. INITIATIVE
Initiative implies the creativity
in an individual. Fayol calls for creating
opportunities within an organisation where
employee’s initiative is developed.
15. ESPIRIT DE CORPS
“UNITY IS STRENGTH” is a
well accepted principle. The contribution of a
team is far more significant than that of
individuals.
