- In our thriller, we present men in an
unfavourable light
- The only man in the title sequence
is the killer as a child's father, who
abuses her
- We used camerawork (close ups of
his actions) and fast paced editing
to show this
3. Women
- We wanted a woman to be the
murderer as it challenges the
conventions of a thriller as men
are typically the murderers
4. The Middle Class
- We present the middle class in our
opening titles as hard working
- We did this by dressing James, the
actor playing the father, in smart
work clothes
- We also had James un-tuck his
shirt and loosen his tie to show
that he had a rough, hard day at
work
- This presents the middle class as
hard working
5. Children
- We present children as innocent
through the use of pure colours
such as white (we got Hannah
to wear a white jacket)
- Moreover, we also present them
as willing to fight back, due to
the link between the father and
child and her violent response
of killing another woman who
resembles her (copycat murder)
