1. NAEYC Technology Standards
1. Professional judgement is required to determine if and when a specific use of
technology or media is age appropriate, individually appropriate, and culturally and
linguistically appropriate. I think this is important because some sources of media may
be too complex for children or they may have access to things they shouldn’t. I would
make sure I was monitoring the devices being used and also what they are accessing
on those devices.
2. Interactions with technology and media should be playful and support creativity,
exploration, pretend play, active play, and outdoor activities. This is important because
children learn so much through playing. I would try and make games out of most the
things being learned because children have such a short attention span.
3. Technology tools can help educators make and strengthen home-school connections.
This is important because so many people rely on technology for communication. I
would try and connect with the students and parents via some source of technology for
communicating.
4. Technology tools can be effective for dual language learners by providing access to a
family’s home language and culture while supporting English language learning. This is
very important because their is such a barrier cause my communication issues. I would
try and technology as a interpreter as much as possible.
