An insight about what does research means …

Definition of A research
 My personal definition of a research is that it consist of systematically
predetermined steps that are followed in order to reach a solution to a
problem, i.e. ideally a research answers or finds solutions to an existing or a
potential problems. These research can be exploratory (which are used to
explore about a problem ideas and insights) or descriptive where the research
describes the issue and the characteristics of the problems addressed.

An Example …
 For instance, when a new disease is discovered, scientist conduct several
researches whether descriptive, exploratory or causal to find out what are
the symptoms & how they can be averted, through out this research an idea
to create a cure for this same disease
