become successful and topped the box office of the weekend the 6th

the 8th
with a gross of £1,761,079 for that weekend.
• Although the following weekend it slipped down to 4th
place on the box
office table it till made a total gross of over £1million for that weekend
showing that it is still as successful genre. As well as this, the total
gross for ‘About Time’ is £3,895,293 which is more than the rest of the
films that are above it for the weekend of the 13th
to the 15th
.

• In the 2012 there were more Romantic Comedies released on the
weekend 14th
to the 16th
however they were not as successful.
• For example the film ‘Hope Springs’ only came 5th
on the box office list
for that particular weekend and only had a total gross of £728, 689.
• Another example is the film ‘To Rome With Love’ and this film had only
made £141,008 to date.
• This shows that the Romance genre has become more popular in film
and is more likely to make a higher gross this year than previous years.
