2. Discover Thermochromic material
First I discover the deferent between thrmochromic pigments and ink
changes state in the presence of heat. When any heat source is applied
(e.g. body heat, hair dryer, or electrical current), the pigment turns
colorless.
Things I should consider in my research
5. Calculating current
I need strong thread with small resistive so I tried stanless steel with resistance of 2.6
according to the thread length , we can decrease resistance by increasing the length of
thread
For my project dimension I need thread
length 55 cm and the resistivity is 3.6
ohm , according to ohms low I need to
calculate how much current my project
need .
5 = I * 3.6
I = 1.01 ohm
It seems good
6. Threads type
• Combining resistive and conductive threads to see how much time it need
to change. Color change time depends on the resistivity of the thread , I
tried resistive alone, conductive and combining resistive with conductive.
Resistive thread , it took more time to change
7. Thread density
• Weaving conductive threads using stanless steel threads
Making small loom with different thread
density to test the fastness color change , then
weaving thermochromic yarn .
9. Thread density AND toughness
I tried different patterns density to
test respond time in changing
threads color
Pattern density Thermochromic
sensitivity to density
Low density high and changing faster
Medium density take more time to
change
High density very slow
