GRADING POLICIES AND
EXPECTATIONS
Course: Technology in the Classroom
GRADING PROCEDURES
 Students' academic standing in this course is
determined by the combined results of essays,
assignments, class attendance, and general
evidence of regular and consistent participation.
Your grade will be based on mastery of the subject
and the ability to communicate clearly, effectively,
and accurately in both oral and written form.
 Letter grades will be used to indicate a student's
quality of achievement in a given assignment. The
letter grades A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, and
F, are assigned a "quality point value"
ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION
 The academic week begins on Monday and ends the following
Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. Mississippi time.
 Each assignment’s due date must be met. Assignments
submitted after the original deadline will be considered late,
and will lose 5% of the total points for each day the
assignment is late.
 Once an assignment has been submitted I will grade and
return it within 4 days from the assignment. due date
COMMUNICATION AND PARTICIPATION
 You are expected to be an active participant in the
course. Regularly communication with classmates
and instructors online is expected and is a part of
your final grade.
 Read and utilize all feedback given.
 The electronic grade book will be used to track and
calculate your grades throughout the course.
 Do not hesitate to ask questions. You are strongly
encouraged to contact me if you have course
related questions regarding course concepts,
assignments, and feedback provided to you.

82-80 B-
Fair
Completes most required parts of the assignment, demonstrates
some understanding of readings, and writing is somewhat clear,
effective , and scholarly, and has some errors in grammar, mechanics,
and APA formatting.79-77 C+
76-73 C Poor Completes some required parts of the assignment, demonstrates
some understanding of readings, and writing is difficult to understand
and unscholarly and has several errors in grammar, mechanics, and
APA formatting.
72-0 F Unacceptable Completes few required parts of the assignment, demonstrates little
understanding of readings, and writing is difficult to understand and
unscholarly and has many errors in grammar, mechanics, and APA
formatting.
GRADING SCALE
GRADING RUBRIC
The grading guidelines are based on four assignment
criteria. Keep these in mind as you complete an
assignment:
 1. Assignment completion -the extent to which you’ve
followed assignment instructions
 2. Understanding of materials—the extent to which
you’ve demonstrated understanding of readings or other
materials
 3. Expression -the extent to which your expression is
clear, effective, and appropriate for scholarly writing
 4. Grammar, mechanics, APA -the extent to which you
have used correct grammar, word choice, punctuation,
and APA formatting.

  • 1. GRADING POLICIES AND EXPECTATIONS Course: Technology in the Classroom
  • 2. GRADING PROCEDURES  Students' academic standing in this course is determined by the combined results of essays, assignments, class attendance, and general evidence of regular and consistent participation. Your grade will be based on mastery of the subject and the ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and accurately in both oral and written form.  Letter grades will be used to indicate a student's quality of achievement in a given assignment. The letter grades A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, and F, are assigned a "quality point value"
  • 3. ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION  The academic week begins on Monday and ends the following Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. Mississippi time.  Each assignment’s due date must be met. Assignments submitted after the original deadline will be considered late, and will lose 5% of the total points for each day the assignment is late.  Once an assignment has been submitted I will grade and return it within 4 days from the assignment. due date
  • 4. COMMUNICATION AND PARTICIPATION  You are expected to be an active participant in the course. Regularly communication with classmates and instructors online is expected and is a part of your final grade.  Read and utilize all feedback given.  The electronic grade book will be used to track and calculate your grades throughout the course.  Do not hesitate to ask questions. Numerical Points Letter Grade Descriptor Explanation 100-94 A Excellent Completes all required parts of the assignment, demonstrates deep understanding of materials, uses very clear and effective expression appropriate to scholarly writing, and has very few or no errors in grammar, mechanics, and APA formatting.93-90 A- 89-87 B+ Good Completes all or most required parts of the assignment, demonstrates good understanding of readings, uses mostly clear and effective expression appropriate to scholarly writing, and has few errors in grammar, mechanics, and APA formatting.86-83 B 82-80 B- Fair Completes most required parts of the assignment, demonstrates some understanding of readings, and writing is somewhat clear, effective , and scholarly, and has some errors in grammar, mechanics, and APA formatting.79-77 C+ 76-73 C Poor Completes some required parts of the assignment, demonstrates some understanding of readings, and writing is difficult to understand and unscholarly and has several errors in grammar, mechanics, and APA formatting. 72-0 F Unacceptable Completes few required parts of the assignment, demonstrates little understanding of readings, and writing is difficult to understand and unscholarly and has many errors in grammar, mechanics, and APA formatting.   • 7. GRADING RUBRIC The grading guidelines are based on four assignment criteria. Keep these in mind as you complete an assignment:  1. Assignment completion -the extent to which you’ve followed assignment instructions  2. Understanding of materials—the extent to which you’ve demonstrated understanding of readings or other materials  3. Expression -the extent to which your expression is clear, effective, and appropriate for scholarly writing  4. Grammar, mechanics, APA -the extent to which you have used correct grammar, word choice, punctuation, and APA formatting.
