The Effects Of Drought On The Hay Industry
The effects of drought on hay as an agricultural resource is a significant, yet overlooked, issue in Canada. Its effects need to be examined in order to
mitigate damage done to the crops themselves, the agricultural sector, and the economy as a whole. This paper explores the causes, effects and
potential solutions to reducing the effects of drought on hay in the future. This paper also covers the differences between American and Canadian
agriculture, and the current drought that is affecting Ontario.
Causes
There are many possible causes of meteorological and hydrological droughts, which in turn have negative effects on the hay industry. A lack of
moisture, either through a minimal amount of rainfall or a groundwater shortage, can stunt hay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(2016) mentions that drought impact studies must be performed of other economic sectors in drougb–affected regions, such as public health and public
water resources, in order to form an effective drought management plan for the future (p. 134). There is also a need for a long–term economic analysis
of drought, because economic effects of drought do not occur in the first few years after the initiation of drought (Leister et al., 2015, p. 281). With
further economic analyses of drought, it makes it possible to financially prepare for the effects of future droughts. There is a direct correlation
between drought preparedness and whether or not the affected farmer has experienced negative drought effects from previous droughts (Coppock,
2011, p. 613). The ability to survive drought comes from careful planning and flexibility, some ow which only comes from previous experience
(Wilmer et al., 2016, p. 220–221). A combination of warm temperatures and a plentiful water supple are necessary in order to combat the negative
environmental effects of drought and restore crop production to its normal capacity (Kemper et al., 2012, p. 2). Further explorations into the future
availability of groundwater supplies are also critical to maintaining proper soil moisture (Bonsal et al., 2010, p.

Kropdusting: A Short Summary And Analysis
In July, the burning heat eating at my skin and the steam rising off the tractor. I am rolling over windrows making brand new bales. The best feeling
in the world is the feeling of being responsible, even if it is challenging. For me being in charge of making hay by myself was adulthood. The hardest
thing I've had to overcome was teaching myself how to bale hay alone, because I have never done the whole hay process by myself, I've never had to
be the one making the decisions about hay, and I've never had to be responsible for seeing the crop completed. I started working on this back country
farm in February of 2016 for a man named Eugene Kritter. I was hired as a farm hand, where I would spend my time taking care of any needs that the

Once all the hay was cut and baled I had to pick every bale up. It may not sound like too much work, but picking up three hundred twenty pound
bales in the scorching heat makes it feel terrible. After getting all the hay picked up and stuffed in the barn my job had been complete. Mr. Kritter got
home and seen my work and proudly congratulated me and thanked me for my work. My name had been pushed up the list to work for the company
and I learned that no matter what I do in life that with effort I could accomplish any task thrown at

Applying Old Testament Laws Today
by
Derrick Burney
November 6, 2014
Christian and the Old Testament Laws (1) J. Daniel Hays approach is to give a principle factor to the Old Covenant laws which makes them practical for
today's believers. Hay's believes that the New Covenant takes believers up from under the rules of the Old Covenant Laws (Romans 7:1–6), except
when the laws have been restated by Jesus. One of the laws Hays gives from the Old Covenant laws which he use as an principle in today's practical
purpose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Old Testament laws they had to do the work to become righteous in God's eyes to be blessed (Duet. 28). The New Testament Jesus fulfills
righteousness for us by faith "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to ever one that believeth" (Romans 10:4).
Jesus did the work for us thereby taking us from under the law (Romans 10:4). The law was fulfilled through Jesus's walk; he kept all the laws with
his walk for us that believe making us righteous. Now the New Testament presents us with the laws being put in our minds and written on our hearts by
God himself (Hebrews 8:10) for eternity.
An Example from the Old Testament
(3) I chose Deuteronomy 18:9–13 NLT in this you are not to act like the abomination of other nations, do not sacrifice your son or daughters in in
burnt offerings, do not act upon casting spells, an enchanter, or witch craft. Also do not call forth spirits, medium or psychics. Anyone who does
these things is detestable to the lord, but you must be blameless before the lord. Hays believe if you are to apply any Old Testament laws to today's
principle for living they must have been used by Jesus and then he believes they become law and practical for today. Jesus stated "You are the light
of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light
to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine

Haybine Descriptive Writing
As my alarm clock yells at me to get up, I turn over in bed and see that it is only 6am. It's a necessity to rise and shine before the crack of dawn on days
like these...
When you're working at the farm during the summer, you are always pressed for time. It seems like you can never get everything you want done that
day all done. But you have to try at least, so the loud ring of my old alarm clock rings right around 6 am every morning. It seems as if the cows and
chickens know that it is time to get fed, because they are all bellering and clucking away. This is the best sound to wake up to, the sound of the cows
bellowing up in the feedlot ready to get fed for the long summer hours of the sun's appearance during the summer. I get dressed into ... Show more

Every Time after your done cutting hay, you have a lot left to do. First of all, you have to pressure wash it off. With going through all of those gopher
mounds, the haybine gets really jammed packed with hard dirt and clay and rocks. This by itself takes at least an hour to get done because there is
hay in all the nooks and crannies of the haybine also, so you have to find the hay and try to blow it out. This is actually a lot harder than it sounds,
just take my word for it. Once you are one step closer to being done, you have to fold the haybine in and park it in the machinery lot. Now folding it
in with two people is quite simple. But when you only have yourself to try and fold it in, it becomes about 100% harder. There is a rop you have to
pull and it is spring loaded, so you have to quickly pull the rope, sprint onto the tractor, and back onto the block that you place benefit the tire of the
haybine. Like I said before, a lot harder than it may seem. After you try for the 5th time to run fast enough to the tractor and back into the block,
you finally get the haybine folded in. You can go park it in the machinery lot, and go fuel up the tractor out of the 500 gallon diesel fuel tank that is
on the farm. Once you're all fueled up for the next time you need the tractor, you can finally go back the tractor in the leanto that is connected to the
grainery and pull the rod to kill the tractor engine. Now you have to go feed your money makers once again. The cows of course are the money
makers. Feed the cows for the second time for the day and you are finally done for the

A Short Story
Mr. Jones, of the Manor Farm, had locked the hen–houses for the night, but was too drunk to remember to shut the pop–holes. With the ring of light
from his lantern dancing from side to side, he lurched across the yard, kicked off his boots at the back door, drew himself a last glass of beer from the
barrel in the scullery, and made his way up to bed, where
Mrs. Jones was already snoring.
As soon as the light in the bedroom went out there was a stirring and a fluttering all through the farm buildings. Word had gone round during the day
that old Major, the prize Middle White boar, had had a strange dream on the previous night and wished to communicate it to the other animals. It had

Boxer was an enormous beast, nearly eighteen hands high, and as strong as any two ordinary horses put together. A white stripe down his nose gave
him a somewhat stupid
appearance, and in fact he was not of first–rate intelligence, but he was universally respected for his steadiness of character and tremendous powers of
work. After the horses came Muriel, the white goat, and Benjamin, the donkey. Benjamin was the oldest animal on the farm, and the worst tempered.
He seldom talked, and when he did, it was usually to make some cynical remark––for instance, he would say that God had given him a tail to keep the
flies off, but that he would sooner have had no tail and no flies. Alone among the animals on the farm he never laughed. If asked why, he would say that
he saw nothing to laugh at. Nevertheless, without openly admitting it, he was devoted to Boxer; the two of them usually spent their
Sundays together in the small paddock beyond the orchard, grazing side by side and never speaking.
The two horses had just lain down when a brood of ducklings, which had lost their mother, filed into the barn, cheeping feebly and wandering from
side to side to find some place where they would not be trodden on. Clover made a sort of wall round them with her great foreleg, and the ducklings
nestled down inside it and promptly fell asleep. At the last moment

Diet And Management Of Horses : Equine Metabolic Syndrome...
Introduction
A topic that interests me in relation to the overall health, diet and management of horses is Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) also known as Insulin
Resistance in horses. EMS is insensitivity to insulin created by stored glucose in the horse's body. The Equine nutrition course has raised my
understanding of how the current feeds and forage we utilize for the modern equine can place our horses at risk for developing EMS. This risk can
be lowered and possibly avoided with proper dietary care. The course units have provided me with the knowledge to determine Body Condition Scores,
navigate feed labels and understand forage quality. Armed with a greater knowledge of feed values, the impact to thehorse's digestive system, formulas
required to determine daily intake and the know–how to determine a horses weight I feel confident not only to recognize a horse at risk for developing
EMS but how and what to adjust in the horses daily diet to avoid a high glycemic index and manage a healthier diet for a horse diagnosed with EMS.
The Clinical Signs of EMS
Although the majority of horses diagnosed with EMS are overweight and quite often considered "easy keepers" the lean horse can also be Insulin
Resistant. There are some very distinct signs that would indicate your beloved equine may have EMS. All horses are at risk but genetics can play an
even greater part for certain breeds, some of them being Quarter horses, Morgans, Paso Finos,

3, bales 1 and 4, bales 1 and 5, bales 2 and 3, bales 2 and 4, bales 2 and 5, bales 3 and 4, bales 3 and 5, bales 4 and 5. Also they were weighed in
kilograms, those set of numbers are: 80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, 91. Process My process with doing this problem is first I started with guess

Persuasive Essay On Wild Horses
Wild horses are something that most people know about, at least to an extent. To many they are the embodiment of the word "freedom", they are
creatures that have been around for centuries roaming free in the mountains and wilderness, pretty much left unchecked except by their natural
predators. Gorgeous, majestic, and full of spirit are words that can all be used to describe wild horses and pictures of them make great desktop
backgrounds and calendars that show a peaceful and wonderful view of nature. What, then, is the issue with the wild horses and why are there
arguements over what needs to be done with them? As a brief explanation wild horses are becoming a nuisance for everyone around them – the
ecosystem and humans alike. When left unchecked, as they had been before, what happens, and why is it such a big deal? One very big word can
explain it all: Overpopulation. Eventually the overpopulation of these beasts would cause, and already has started to cause, an imbalance and
irreversible damage in the ecosystems they roam in. Problems that would, and do, occur would be the fact that there would not be enough food or
water for them as well as other herbivores, which, in turn, would cause omnivores and carnivores to lack a food source once their prey starts dying
out due to starvation. Some species may even die out, plants and animals alike, if something is not done sooner rather than later. Poor grazing
management would be included into the overpopulation category simply because the more horses there are the more grasses and other plants they
would need to eat on a daily basis. Not all of the plant depletion was caused by the horses, however. They had a huge help from one particular
species: Humans. Humans have long since conquered many areas in the world and have taken much of the land from the animals that occupy the
area alongside them, even wiping out whole species within a short time period. Very little space is left for creatures, like the wild horses, to roam
and graze because ranchers were allowing their cattle to graze in the same spots as the wild animals who then had to find other sources of food and
ultimately caused the entire recourse to either be gone completely or very sparce. Now the horses

Donde Hay Gana Hay Manana Analysis
Growing up I heard the dicho, " donde hay gana hay manana," millions of times from my grandma and mom. Every time my grandma and mom were
in the middle of gossiping, the dicho would pop–up, especially when the subject of their conversation was about a lazy person or a hardworking
one.The saying has much wisdom as it explains that where there is desire there is ability. When people have negative thoughts over achieving their
goals they have been known to either give up or fail to achieve them, but in reality all that one needs while trying to achieve their goals is desire. If a
person really wants something they will try their hardest since in the end it is them who can determine how thirsty they are for their goals.
In order for people to get farther in life and get to the point they want to be, they need to work hard for it because they won't know if they are able to
accomplish their goals unless they really try knowing that nothing comes easy.In the saying, "Donde hay gana, hay manana," one's personality is
crucial since it is the driving force of oneself. Being determined makes anything possible; therefore, people should do things with a positive attitude to
obtain a desired outcome that could help them in present time or the near future.
One's persona is is the driving force of this dicho. When someone is trying to attain something it all depends on who they are to determine if they will
be able to attain their goals. In an article, Angela Lee Duckworth, a psychology

Descriptive Essay On Exotic Animals
A few years ago, my Mom and I went to a fall exotic animal auction, which took place over by Pierz. It was mid October so the mornings had a bite
to them and the days were cool. We woke up at 6:00 in the morning so we could get our rabbits, which we were bringing to the auction to sell, settled
in their cages. We had filled each cage withhay the night before so they would be warm for the ride there and for the time they'd be stuck sitting in
their cages. After we loaded them up, we headed to the auction. Once we arrived at the auction, we brought the bunnies over to the people who
tagged their cages and brought them out to the barn to be stacked up next to other cages. The other cages were filled with exotic birds and some
other rabbits. In some of the pens inside the auction barn, they had pigs, goats, sheep, and emus. The outside pens had a variety of cow breeds like
the shaggy Highlanders and Brahmas. There were also horses, ponies, alpacas, buffalo, and llamas. We always arrive early, so people are still
coming in with animals they would be auctioning off that day. My Mom and I went into the auction barn to see if they had anything interesting out
there that we might like to acquire. My Mom has several exotic birds at home and loves going to the auction to look at all the exotic birds. As we
walked through the barn, my Mom saw some golden pheasants and some peacocks, so she wrote their tag numbers down on her mini notebook that she
brought along with her in hopes

Elizabeth Jackson Descriptive Essay
Several miles just outside of Jamestown, sat a small log cabin atop a hill with a long, winding, carmel carriageway. The house was weathered and
worn. Dandelion white smoke spewed out of the chimney, and an old wooden rocking chair moved ever so slightly in the delicate wind. Just inside
the door sat a chest filled with quilts of many colors, made with scraps and patches of old clothes. Each piece, with uneven stitches, hand sewn with
love. To the left sat a cast iron pot, black as night, heating over the red–orange blaze of the cooking fire. Next to that there was a small wooden table
with a plaid cloth draped across it, and two ash grey bowls anxiously waiting to be filled with soup. In the back of the cabin there were two rickety
beds that held up mattress made of straw, and on one a small doll with golden locks and heavenly blue eyes. Outside, in the backyard, there was an
ice cold creek used for bathing and cleaning, and at the very bottom of the carriageway stood a small girl named Elizabeth Jackson. Elizabeth was
a very pretty young girl. She had chocolate brown, wavy hair that was tied up in the back with a ruby red ribbon. Her eyes were emerald green, and
she had a smile like no other. She always wore beautiful long dresses made by her grandma and she was the most popular sixteen year old girl in
town. She enjoyed riding her horse, cooking, and learning to sew. Everything in Elizabeth's life was absolutely perfect except one thing. Her parents

Two migrant workers, George and Lennie, have been let off of a bus a ways away from the California ranch where they are due to start work.
George is a small, dark man with "sharp, strong features." Lennie, his companion, is his opposite, a massive man with a "shapeless" face. To slake

George and reliant upon him for protection and guidance. George finds that Lennie, who loves feeling soft things but often accidentally murders them,

searching for his wife, heads to the barn to waylay Slim. Candy overhears George and Lennie talking about their plans to purchase land, and offers
his life's savings if they will let him come with them. The three make a agreement to let no one else know of their plan. Slim arrives back at the
bunkhouse, scolding Curley for his suspicions. Curley, looking for an easy conduit for his anger, finds Lennie and decides to fight him. Lennie
crushes Curley's hand in the brawl. Slim cautions Curley that if he tries to get George and Lennie fired, he will be the butt of all the jokes on the farm.
The next night, most of the men go to the nearby brothel. Lennie is left with Crooks, the lonesome, black stable–hand, and Candy. Curley's wife flirts

It was a hot and humid day in August, and my patience was wearing as thin as my sweat–covered t–shirt. Dave was a horse I bought about a month

Liabilities of Owning a Farm
Thinking of owning a farm? Farming is great for some people but it's not for all. A farm has many assets and liabilities when it comes to finances.
One of the assets of owning a farm is seeing the plants grow and making a profit off of those plants. The liabilities of a farm are the purchase of seed,
cost of employees, and the cost incurred for plant care. A farm can be very expensive but it can also be very profitable.
A liability of owning a crop farm is the expense of corn seed. Seed prices can vary depending on the crop that meets the farmer's needs. Corn has
many different types of plant species, from comestible corn to the non–comestible corn. Field corn is a non–comestible corn that is ground into corn
silage. Corn silage is used by farmers to feed their livestock but they can't solely feed their livestock corn silage, livestock needs a diet of other foods
with the corn silage. It takes 30 pounds of corn seed to cover an acre of a field. Comestible corn seed costs about $485.00 for a 56 pound bag.
(Seedland)
Now corn is more costs a little more than alfalfa but a farmer can't just feed their livestock corn silage. Most dairy farmer feed their cows a diet of a
small percent of silage and then a larger percent of alfalfa hay. Alfalfa hay is used for many things such as for feeding livestock. Most alfalfa seed costs
$349.00 for a 50 pound bag. (Seedland) To cover an acre of land it takes 20 pounds of seed. The reason why is because 60% of the alfalfa seed never

John Hay Open Door Policy
John Hay, the Secretary of State, first articulated the Open Door Policy in 1899. The Secretary of State's intentions for the Open Door Policy was
aimed to secure international agreements for policy, trade and commerce with China. Prior to John Hay, American policies with China were conducted
under similar principles however, were not official until he put the policy in writing and proposed it to the powers in Europe. The "Open Door" was
not an official United States policy but was considered "notes" sent between the Far East in the late 1800's and half of the 1900's. The Open Door
notes were never a policy and were only drafts of notes sent between John Hay and European countries in an attempt to establish equal trade commerce
and equal port availability regardless of nationality. John Hay battled for years throughout the 19th century putting these "notes" into place. He strived

European powers. During the same time the United States had just won the Spanish–American war and had gained control of Guam, Philippines and

The Cow Taught Me How
The Cow Taught Me How
"Life is dangerous, that's what makes it interesting." – John Twelve Hawks
The best thing I ever did for myself was throw a stick at a cow. Not an overly extravagant accomplishment, but I certainly learned a lot from it. Just a
little over six years into the world, on a day so hot I could practically taste burnt air, my father took my two sisters and me down to the barn.
It wasn't the most attractive place in the world, but to my eyes it was an adventure waiting to happen. Amid mountainous hay bales and rolling seas of
grass, I eagerly awaited the chance to seek out every little thing in this field.
As soon as dad set us loose to explore, he began to cut a few trees down to make firewood. I sprung into the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

yelling for him. I tried anyway. "Dad!" I called, cupping my hands around my mouth. I tried again and again, but I didn't succeed. Eventually, I
resorted to crossing my arms and huffing in annoyance. Now it was all up to me. It was almost like a superhero set–up –– I, the favored protagonist,
the cows the nefarious villains, and my sisters the damsels in distress. My feet bounded forward in a blaze of six year old glory. The glitzy
rainbows on my tennis shoes shone in the sun, my ponytail whipped my face, and my body moved onwards; ready for action. With careful precision I
scanned the ground, looking for some sort of weapon. Since there isn't much of an arsenal in a cow field, I sought out a stick. And what a wonderful
stick it was! The pair of hands that usually picked up toys and Cheerios snatched the small branch. Putting my entire body into motion, I let my
weapon fly. My body's momentum sent it in a direct line; hurtling towards the target. My throw was decently aimed, and the stick struck home on an
unfortunate cow's behind. Time crawled to a stop and the branch seemed to hang in the air for a moment before clattering to the ground. One beat of
silence. Two. Suddenly, the beast turned its head, black eyes seemingly pinning me in place. I probably would've started crying and begging for mercy

Once upon a time, there was a village down west. Newcomers came to town, and their names were Ralph and Jack. The first people they met were
the Moodys. They were kind folk and offered Jack a job. Well you have to see, the Moodys had six children. Three boys and three girls, the eldest
was Sara Moody. She was something. A girl who loved horses and especially her mustang Joanna. Ralph was the same with hishorse Clyde. Now let
me begin,
" Ralph wake up!" said Jack in a rush. Ralph just twisted his head, opened his eyes and answered, " Ok! But it ain't morning is it?"
" Look around. It's the break of dawn," said Jack in a teasing manner.
Then Ralph got up and went to ride his horse. No one was out, not a single soul when he heard, "Joanna ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was Sara! She said," Sorry, I didn't know you were here." Ralph did not answer, afraid that she would say something hurtful.
He just climbed on Clyde and quickly, gently rode away. Sara, hurt from the words he said awhile ago, tried to act as if she didn't care. Ralph had
decided to ask if she would like to go horseback riding with him. " Ms. Sara would ye like to go riding with me," spoke Ralph scared all over.
"I am busy today, but tomorrow I will consider it," said Sara in a tone to hide the thought of "he might love me".
The next day Ralph rode to Mr. Walter's store to get some food for his horse. When he saw Sara he was out of his skin." Sorry Mr. Walter but I have to
got –a– go." he chuckled. When Sara said she was busy Ralph decided to ignore her. Meanwhile, Sara decided to be nice to him.
The next day Sara rode to the town, and she saw Jack and said," Howdy Jack! Were is Ralph today?"
"Howdy! Ralph and Clyde are by the wagon." Jack answered. Sara kicked Joanna and they were off with Sara bouncing up and down in the saddle.
When she saw Ralph she asked," Howdy Ralph. do you want to

Hay Bayer Essay
Hay Bayler Problem Statement: you have five bales of hay that were weighed in all possible combinations of two, 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 1 and 4, and
so on. The weight combination was written down without keeping track of which weight matched which pair of bales. The weights are 80, 82, 83,
84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, and 91. You need to find out which two bales go with which weight and how much bales 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weigh. Are there
more than 1 possibility. Process: my group first did guess and check to try and solve the problem. First we thought that the bales had to be 40–50
because if you had 70+70 it would be out of the range of 80–90 by a lot. Our first guess was that bale 1=42, 2=43, 3=44, 4=40, and bale 5=45. That
didn't work so then we tried doing bale 1=42, 2=43, 3=41, 4=47, and bale 5=44. That also didn't work so then we thought. I thought that maybe we had
to give bales 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4, and 4 and 5 one of the weights and see if it works. We gave 1 and 2 85, 2 and 3 84, 3 and 4 88, and 4 and 5 91.
It worked but when we tried to add 1 and 3, 2 and 5, and 1 and 4 it just fell apart. So that theory did not work. The whole class was having trouble so
we did it all together. Our teacher gave us each a number 36–48. I got the number 39. So I started with 39+41=40, then 39+43=82. Then I did
41+43=84 I kept doing it till I found the answer. Bale1=39, Bale2=41, Bale3=43, Bale4=44,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hay Fever : Hay Fever, A Comical Play
Hay Fever was a comical play with a strong message. The actors throughout this play steadily used others to gain their own attention. The message this
play left behind after many laughs was do not use others, plain and simple.
The space was a well–constructed thrust stage however, the stage was not raised off the ground and the seats appeared to be mobile which lead to the
belief that this is an Environmental Theater. As for the layout of thestage, there was a couch and a table in center stage for the first two acts, a door to
the unseen outside front of the house upstage right, there were two large double doors upstage center leading to the backyard garden, and a raised
floor upstage left containing a piano, a bookcase and a door leading to the home library. Stage left there was a half spiral staircase that lead up to
the second floor which had a painting and lights that extended across to stage right. The second floor also contained the bedrooms for the house
but the doors were not in sight. The detail was greater than expected: the hardwood floor throughout the first floor seemed to be genuine, the actual
bookcase filled with real books not stage books, and the extremely large double doors with translucent glass and floral designs lead to the Garden,
which featured an array of plants behind the doors. The entire space was well lit for the duration of the play; the stage took place inside the Bliss'
home so the bright lighting added a confortable feel to the inside of the house. The theatre was nearly sold out; it was hard to spot an empty seat,
including the balcony and lower level seating. The crowd contained nearly an even amount of student audience members and senior citizens; there was
few in the audience that appeared middle aged.
The play was well cast, the entire Bliss family did a great job showing how overly dramatic and deceitful the family had become. Each actor
portrayed their character accurately; there were no standouts that didn't match the character. Each visitor in the first act seemed to be feasible as far as
the possibility of a relationship was concerned. All of the family members acted genuine. There was one actor who stood out as a perfect fit for his
character. Taylor Rascher

Horse Hay Racks
A well–run stable requires the use of hay bags, hay racks and hay nets. We offer hay racks, hay bags and hay nets in an assortment of colors, and
consisting of various materials. When choosing the hay racks, hay nets for horses and/or hay bags, keep in mind that horses prefer easy to use systems.
Choose a feeding system that is safe, minimizes waste and is easy to clean. What are Horse Hay Racks? Using horse hay racks for feeding is beneficial
because very little hay is wasted. Since the hay remains in place, the hay will not mix with the horse's feces or bedding. In addition, horse racks make
it easy to see which horses need more hay. Types of Hay Racks Horse hay racks typically consist of steel rods that are gray or powder–coated black....

Some of the hay bags we offer at HorseLoverZ.com have dividers. We also offer hay bags for horses that are designed to manage how long it takes
your horse to eat his or her hay ('medium feed' or 'slow feed'). What are Hay Nets for Horses? Many horse owners use hay nets in trailers to help
their horses stay occupied as they travel or while waiting to perform in a show. During travel, these hay nets for horses need to be hung high
enough to keep the horse from tripping on it once the bag is empty. The same is true when hanging a hay net in the horse's stall: However, some
veterinarians recommend that the hay net be hung outside the horse's door. Horse owners may choose hay nets as opposed to hay bags because
weighing and soaking or dampening the hay is easier with a net. Types of Hay Nets for Horses Hay nets are used to keep hay from falling on the
ground. These nets consist of nylon rope or braided

Of Mice And Men By John Steinbeck
Final Novel Project In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck we are introduced to the character of Lennie. Lennie is a pretty lovable
character. He is kind and gentle hearted, he would never do anything out of meanness, but yet he is a very misunderstood character. This may be
contributed to the fact that Lennie is very large in stature, but I feel it is more of the fact that Lennie doesn't behave like a "normal person" does.
Lennie is very different from how society would want him to behave, and in fact he is labeled often as dumb and slow. Unwarranted labeling is
disabling, Lennie experienced much of this throughout the duration of his life. Even by his best friend George he was labeled as dumb, slow, and
different. Lennie was very much aware of these labels he was given, and he knew if he acted out on his labels he would be viewed differently,
scolded, or even punished. So Lennie tried desperately to act how people wanted him too, but in the end it was completely unfair to Lennie because
Lennie was expected to do all the work, the full one hundred percent. If people would have stopped and realized that they needed to mindful of
Lennie and how his brain works I believe a lot of drama and grief could have been avoided. Unfortunately the characters in the book were not as
sensitive to Lennie's needs as they needed to be. Lennie was also a victim to exclusion and marginalization. While all the other men went out to hit the
town he was held back with the other

Descriptive Essay On Trail Rides
Trail rides are a lot of fun and it is even more so when where you go is beautiful. However, when people do not know what they are doing horses can
be dangerous. Over the summer I had gone to visit Claireville Ranch in Brampton, Ontario. The ranch is located close to the city and is a place
people go to get away. They offer riding lessons, pony rides, and trail rides. You may also go for hikes and walk your dog. The main area and
parking is set a little way off the main road, which makes it quiet. It is a breathtaking area and is great for hikes. However, the horses were kept in
a small and dirty paddock behind the barn. They may just be kept there for the day, but it was still not enough space for the amount of horses kept
there. There was also an abundance which is understandable at a barn and in the forest, but was still bothersome. The place was extremely crowded
with many people riding and waiting at once. We also had to wait for an extremely long time. To get a spot you had to show up a half hour
beforehand and then about another half hour for the people to get back, dismount, and then you have to mount. Even with all this the people in charge
seemed to keep a somewhat organized schedule. The service was not the best, but was not completely unbearable. You were able to call to ask
questions, which would be useful if they picked up the phone. Most of the time the phone went to the answering machine that was little help, repeating
what it had said before. You

It was just a typical day on the Poster farm, a warm breeze blew the smell of hay across the land, the holstein cows bellered in the barn, and the sun

Analysis Of The Last Rung On The Ladder
In the short story, "The Last Rung on the Ladder" by Stephen King, the main characters are Katrina, better known as Kitty, and Larry. Kitty is the
younger sister, whose trust is mainly in her brother's hands. While Larry is the older brother who loves his sister dearly but is more job/future focused.
The author describes both of these characters very well throughout the story. The author also does a very thorough job at showing how the setting
affects the plot of the story and how the climax affects the story. One of the main things that Stephen King does to make this story so strong, is using a
great description of the setting, characters, and conflict.
In the story, "The Last Rung on the Ladder", Stephen King does a great job of showing how the setting impacts the characters, and how the setting
affects the climax.
" The barn. It was warm, filled with a pleasant mixed aroma of hay and fun and dung, and with the mysterious chuckling, cooing sounds of the barn
swallows high up in the third loft."(King14)
This quote is showing how Larry describes the barn being so warm and filled with smells, and how it is so deeply mysterious. Later on in the story,
this mysterious warm place turns into a place of fear. The main characters, Kitty and Larry, are climbing up and old rickety ladder, and shuffling a
crossed a 12ft. long beam. Once over the safety of the hay, they jump down and land in the soft, safeness of the hay. But after going up the ladder a
certain amount of times, it

Personal Narrative: It's Time To Stay In The Barn
I couldn't believe my eyes, as I stood in the barn doorway and saw about nine decapitated chickens lying on the ground. There was blood and
feathers spattered all over the walls and cement flooring which meant there must have been quite the struggle. "Stupid chickens, yea why don't you
just stay in the barn and be systematically slaughtered instead of, oh I don't know, possibly leaving," I said rhetorically to the slaughtered fowl.
After taking a moment to digest what looked like a photo right out of a 1980's horror film. I returned to my senses and began to scan the inside of
the barn for a perpetrator. The interior of the barn was a large rectangle about a garage and a half in size. It had no windows or lights, just creaky old
rafters that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was an extremely aggravated raccoon that was less than thrilled with me being near its buffet of freshly decapitated dead poultry. I startled and
yelled, "What the hell!" I wasn't expecting anything but a cat so it caught me off guard. This must have scared the raccoon because it leaped out of the
hay and charged me. I instinctively dropped the flashlight I was carrying and hit the raccoon on the head with the broom. It let out a shriek and
scurried towards the barn door, but for some reason decided to just stand there without exiting. My heart was racing so fast that I felt like it was
going to jump right out of my chest. I was trying to piece together a plan to make it out of the barn with the only exit being blocked by the raccoon.
I began to assume that this raccoon was infected with rabies as it looked bloated and had a mangy grey coat. I knew that if it had rabies, I would
need to avoid being bitten or scratched to prevent contraction of the viral disease. I tried to make as much noise as possible by shouting and hitting
the ground with the broom. My hope was that the raccoon would just leave the barn peacefully or at least move to the other side of the room so that
I could leave. In spite of my efforts this raccoon was just too bullheaded to let me go. Right after I started making noise, it bared its needle–like fangs
and charged at me again. I hit it with the broom

The Hay Wain Analysis
A1: Initial thoughts Viewing John Constable's painting 'The Hay Wain' makes me appreciate that there were established artists in early 19th century.
The painting is one of the most studied and sought after in the world and viewing it allows me to understand why majority of people are interested
with it (Wikimedia Commons, 2017). The painting evokes a feeling of naturalness and allowed me to connect with the painter's point of view.
Constable was trying to showcase his country side as a natural green place and viewing the painting it is evident he achieved this. The aim of visual arts
is to help the artist to communicate a particular aspect that the audience can relate with. The Hay Wain uses magnificent colors and texture that not

regard, the Hay Wain is important in today's world as it helps the generations that does not understand the countryside. The art allows the current
generation to know how nature looked like in the early 19th century. Apart from learning, the art is important in urging the current generation to protect

Timothy Hay Benefits
I had a rabbit recently pass away after 12 long years of life. I was not informed properly and I did not do the necessary research that is needed in
order to make sure my bunny was being properly fed and had the right kind of nutrition. Hay, mainly timothy hay, is a necessity within a rabbit's diet
for many different reasons. Feeding alfalfa hay to a young rabbit is how one should start out when it comes to feeding a rabbit and then eventually lead
to feeding a rabbit timothy hay for the rest of it's life.
Alfalfa hay has a higher percentage of protein, fiber, calcium, and ash. The alfalfa is needed for younger rabbits because it does have a higher
percentage for those certain nutrients which are needed in order to help a younger rabbit grow(Alfalfa versus Timothy Hay for Rabbits.) So why is
timothy hay needed after the rabbit is young in order to keep the nutrients up high? This reason is because timothy hay can help to make sure there is
not too much of an intake of calcium. Alfalfa hay can actually cause a grown rabbit to have too much calcium within their diet because the ... Show

If you are feeding your rabbit pellets, veggies, etc., then one could slowly reduce the intake of pellets just slightly and then slightly add more hay

more, or maybe even put the hay within a toilet paper roll in order to get the rabbit to eat more of the hay, as rabbits are more attracted to a
game(Hay, Hay and More Hay.) If none of the options you put down for your rabbit are appealing to it, then lightly spraying pineapple juice down
will attract the rabbit to the sweetness of it, which should lead it to try and eat more (Hay, Hay and More Hay.) All rabbits like hay, so one of these

We even do emergency food to people who are truly in need. I'm very fortunate that the agency I chose not only helps individual clients in Hay County,
but also supports other agencies within San Marcos such as South Side, Hope and Love, Redwood and multiple other agencies. These agencies serve
the homeless, elderly, children, families and individuals who are economically disadvantaged. The requirements are pretty simple the potential client

first, they try to explain their situation, but I explain to them that I'm not there to judge. When they start to become regulars you can tell they are there
to provide for their families. Most of the people who come in are either college students or middle–aged family members. A lot of the clients were
white and Hispanic women, who are trying to provide for their family.

It was a bright sunny Saturday afternoon on November 30th 2013 when my mom found me outside doing chores.
"Let's go to Canton to get a cow your dad bought." My mom invited.
"Why?" I inquired.
"Because everyone is going."
"Okay, I'm going to go change my jacket then." I became slightly suspicious because my whole family was going along, and it didn't make sense to
drive all the way to Canton to pick up one cow when we usually got our livestock from Sioux Falls Regional livestock. I decided to go along anyway
since I wasn't doing anything.
While sitting in the car I started to think about how unusual the situation was. Then I started thinking about how awesome it would be if I got a horse as
a Christmas present even though Christmas was a month away. Although I thought it probably wasn't going to happen I still felt excitement building
up in my chest at the prospect of getting a horse.
When we pulled into a driveway of a small farm everyone pilled out of the pickup and we were met by a guy coming out of the white house to our left.
While my dad and the guy were talking, I examined the farm and immediately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The surprise quickly turned into excitement at the sight of getting a horse for Christmas. The horse, named Jack, however was hesitant to step into
the trailer like a stubborn mule. After many attempts to get Jack into the trailer the guy called someone on the phone to bring out treats to lure Jack
into the trailer. Someone emerged from the house with some apple and orange slices. They tried to lure Jack in the trailer again but even with the
treats he was still hesitant. When he was finally in the trailer the guy tied the led rope to the side of the trailer to secure Jack in place. Everyone said
goodbye and we got into the pickup and headed home. During the drive home I felt delight that after over ten years of wanting a horse I finally got

Comparing Duvall And Hays
I have had several people approach me and ask if our church sermons are "deep," "have meat" or are "baby food." What is interesting is the
difficulties of serving up "meat" from a stage. It is sort of like running in a cow pasture hoping to get a steak. You are in the wrong place. However,
Duvall and Hays do an excellent job in communicating the necessity of exegetical study for anyone who wants to get every bit of meaning out of
scripture. They liken it to getting a love letter from someone and how one would read it over and over carefully studying the nuances of every word.
Well, I believe that God's word is his love letter to the world; and it is worth the work, effort and time to understand it all. Therefore, making careful
observations

Curleys Wife Analysis
Curly's Wife
Curlys Wife is a very powerful and yet powerless character within the novel Of Mice and Men as Steinbeck uses her to reflect the prejudice against
women in the 1930s since they had very little rights. Just from her title "Curlys Wife" she has no actual name, this shows that she is just Curlys
property and powerless in the sense that she hasn't got her own individual identity, only an identity through her husband, also she doesn't have enough
power to be called a 'woman' instead she is discriminated against and is called derogatory terms such as a "tart" when Slim first speaks of her to
George by saying "I think Curly married a tart" showing no respect for her
From the beginning of when she is introduced in the novel she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the word 'soft' in the sentence "The sun streaks were high on the wall by now, and the light was growing soft" we are reminded of Curlys Wife's
soft velvet hair that Lennie liked and lost control with, taking us back to the seriousness of her death and feeling empathy for her character
To conclude, Steinbeck uses Curlys Wife to get the readers awareness of how much women were discriminated against in the 1930s and how
lonely and isolated she was because of her being a female. She wasn't seen as her own individual person but as a strand of someone else; her
husband Curly. She used her best quality: her beauty to get the attention of the other guys on the ranch because she doesn't like her husband Curly
and had a dream to become a famous actress in the Movies. She went past the rule of staying away from Lennie because of her desire to be noticed
and be listened to by someone, this then led to her death which added to the part of everyone's dreams not coming

The Effects Of Drought On The Hay Industry

  • 1. The Effects Of Drought On The Hay Industry The effects of drought on hay as an agricultural resource is a significant, yet overlooked, issue in Canada. Its effects need to be examined in order to mitigate damage done to the crops themselves, the agricultural sector, and the economy as a whole. This paper explores the causes, effects and potential solutions to reducing the effects of drought on hay in the future. This paper also covers the differences between American and Canadian agriculture, and the current drought that is affecting Ontario. Causes There are many possible causes of meteorological and hydrological droughts, which in turn have negative effects on the hay industry. A lack of moisture, either through a minimal amount of rainfall or a groundwater shortage, can stunt hay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2016) mentions that drought impact studies must be performed of other economic sectors in drougb–affected regions, such as public health and public water resources, in order to form an effective drought management plan for the future (p. 134). There is also a need for a long–term economic analysis of drought, because economic effects of drought do not occur in the first few years after the initiation of drought (Leister et al., 2015, p. 281). With further economic analyses of drought, it makes it possible to financially prepare for the effects of future droughts. There is a direct correlation between drought preparedness and whether or not the affected farmer has experienced negative drought effects from previous droughts (Coppock, 2011, p. 613). The ability to survive drought comes from careful planning and flexibility, some ow which only comes from previous experience (Wilmer et al., 2016, p. 220–221). A combination of warm temperatures and a plentiful water supple are necessary in order to combat the negative environmental effects of drought and restore crop production to its normal capacity (Kemper et al., 2012, p. 2). Further explorations into the future availability of groundwater supplies are also critical to maintaining proper soil moisture (Bonsal et al., 2010, p. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The best feeling in the world is the feeling of being responsible, even if it is challenging. For me being in charge of making hay by myself was adulthood. The hardest thing I've had to overcome was teaching myself how to bale hay alone, because I have never done the whole hay process by myself, I've never had to be the one making the decisions about hay, and I've never had to be responsible for seeing the crop completed. I started working on this back country farm in February of 2016 for a man named Eugene Kritter. I was hired as a farm hand, where I would spend my time taking care of any needs that the farm ... Daniel Hays approach is to give a principle factor to the Old Covenant laws which makes them practical for today's believers. Hay's believes that the New Covenant takes believers up from under the rules of the Old Covenant Laws (Romans 7:1–6), except when the laws have been restated by Jesus. The New Testament Jesus fulfills righteousness for us by faith "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to ever one that believeth" (Romans 10:4). Jesus did the work for us thereby taking us from under the law (Romans 10:4). The law was fulfilled through Jesus's walk; he kept all the laws with his walk for us that believe making us righteous. Now the New Testament presents us with the laws being put in our minds and written on our hearts by God himself (Hebrews 8:10) for eternity. An Example from the Old Testament (3) I chose Deuteronomy 18:9–13 NLT in this you are not to act like the abomination of other nations, do not sacrifice your son or daughters in in burnt offerings, do not act upon casting spells, an enchanter, or witch craft. It's a necessity to rise and shine before the crack of dawn on days like these... When you're working at the farm during the summer, you are always pressed for time. It seems like you can never get everything you want done that day all done. But you have to try at least, so the loud ring of my old alarm clock rings right around 6 am every morning. It seems as if the cows and chickens know that it is time to get fed, because they are all bellering and clucking away. This is the best sound to wake up to, the sound of the cows bellowing up in the feedlot ready to get fed for the long summer hours of the sun's appearance during the summer. I get dressed into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every Time after your done cutting hay, you have a lot left to do. First of all, you have to pressure wash it off. With going through all of those gopher mounds, the haybine gets really jammed packed with hard dirt and clay and rocks. This by itself takes at least an hour to get done because there is hay in all the nooks and crannies of the haybine also, so you have to find the hay and try to blow it out. This is actually a lot harder than it sounds, just take my word for it. Once you are one step closer to being done, you have to fold the haybine in and park it in the machinery lot. Now folding it in with two people is quite simple. But when you only have yourself to try and fold it in, it becomes about 100% harder. There is a rop you have to pull and it is spring loaded, so you have to quickly pull the rope, sprint onto the tractor, and back onto the block that you place benefit the tire of the haybine. Like I said before, a lot harder than it may seem. After you try for the 5th time to run fast enough to the tractor and back into the block, you finally get the haybine folded in. You can go park it in the machinery lot, and go fuel up the tractor out of the 500 gallon diesel fuel tank that is on the farm. Once you're all fueled up for the next time you need the tractor, you can finally go back the tractor in the leanto that is connected to the grainery and pull the rod to kill the tractor engine. Now you have to go feed your money makers once again. The cows of course are the money makers. Feed the cows for the second time for the day and you are finally done for the ... A white stripe down his nose gave him a somewhat stupid appearance, and in fact he was not of first–rate intelligence, but he was universally respected for his steadiness of character and tremendous powers of work. After the horses came Muriel, the white goat, and Benjamin, the donkey. Benjamin was the oldest animal on the farm, and the worst tempered. He seldom talked, and when he did, it was usually to make some cynical remark––for instance, he would say that God had given him a tail to keep the flies off, but that he would sooner have had no tail and no flies. Alone among the animals on the farm he never laughed. If asked why, he would say that he saw nothing to laugh at. Nevertheless, without openly admitting it, he was devoted to Boxer; the two of them usually spent their Sundays together in the small paddock beyond the orchard, grazing side by side and never speaking. The two horses had just lain down when a brood of ducklings, which had lost their mother, filed into the barn, cheeping feebly and wandering from side to side to find some place where they would not be trodden on. Clover made a sort of wall round them with her great foreleg, and the ducklings nestled down inside it and promptly fell asleep. At the last moment Mollie, the foolish, pretty white mare who drew Mr. Jones's trap, came mincing daintily in, chewing at a lump of sugar. She took a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Diet And Management Of Horses : Equine Metabolic Syndrome... Introduction A topic that interests me in relation to the overall health, diet and management of horses is Equine Metabolic Syndrome (EMS) also known as Insulin Resistance in horses. EMS is insensitivity to insulin created by stored glucose in the horse's body. The Equine nutrition course has raised my understanding of how the current feeds and forage we utilize for the modern equine can place our horses at risk for developing EMS. This risk can be lowered and possibly avoided with proper dietary care. The course units have provided me with the knowledge to determine Body Condition Scores, navigate feed labels and understand forage quality. Armed with a greater knowledge of feed values, the impact to thehorse's digestive system, formulas required to determine daily intake and the know–how to determine a horses weight I feel confident not only to recognize a horse at risk for developing EMS but how and what to adjust in the horses daily diet to avoid a high glycemic index and manage a healthier diet for a horse diagnosed with EMS. The Clinical Signs of EMS Although the majority of horses diagnosed with EMS are overweight and quite often considered "easy keepers" the lean horse can also be Insulin Resistant. There are some very distinct signs that would indicate your beloved equine may have EMS. All horses are at risk but genetics can play an even greater part for certain breeds, some of them being Quarter horses, Morgans, Paso Finos, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Persuasive Essay On Wild Horses Wild horses are something that most people know about, at least to an extent. To many they are the embodiment of the word "freedom", they are creatures that have been around for centuries roaming free in the mountains and wilderness, pretty much left unchecked except by their natural predators. Gorgeous, majestic, and full of spirit are words that can all be used to describe wild horses and pictures of them make great desktop backgrounds and calendars that show a peaceful and wonderful view of nature. What, then, is the issue with the wild horses and why are there arguements over what needs to be done with them? As a brief explanation wild horses are becoming a nuisance for everyone around them – the ecosystem and humans alike. When left unchecked, as they had been before, what happens, and why is it such a big deal? One very big word can explain it all: Overpopulation. Eventually the overpopulation of these beasts would cause, and already has started to cause, an imbalance and irreversible damage in the ecosystems they roam in. Problems that would, and do, occur would be the fact that there would not be enough food or water for them as well as other herbivores, which, in turn, would cause omnivores and carnivores to lack a food source once their prey starts dying out due to starvation. Some species may even die out, plants and animals alike, if something is not done sooner rather than later. Poor grazing management would be included into the overpopulation category simply because the more horses there are the more grasses and other plants they would need to eat on a daily basis. Not all of the plant depletion was caused by the horses, however. They had a huge help from one particular species: Humans. Humans have long since conquered many areas in the world and have taken much of the land from the animals that occupy the area alongside them, even wiping out whole species within a short time period. Very little space is left for creatures, like the wild horses, to roam and graze because ranchers were allowing their cattle to graze in the same spots as the wild animals who then had to find other sources of food and ultimately caused the entire recourse to either be gone completely or very sparce. Now the horses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Donde Hay Gana Hay Manana Analysis Growing up I heard the dicho, " donde hay gana hay manana," millions of times from my grandma and mom. Every time my grandma and mom were in the middle of gossiping, the dicho would pop–up, especially when the subject of their conversation was about a lazy person or a hardworking one.The saying has much wisdom as it explains that where there is desire there is ability. When people have negative thoughts over achieving their goals they have been known to either give up or fail to achieve them, but in reality all that one needs while trying to achieve their goals is desire. If a person really wants something they will try their hardest since in the end it is them who can determine how thirsty they are for their goals. In order for people to get farther in life and get to the point they want to be, they need to work hard for it because they won't know if they are able to accomplish their goals unless they really try knowing that nothing comes easy.In the saying, "Donde hay gana, hay manana," one's personality is crucial since it is the driving force of oneself. Being determined makes anything possible; therefore, people should do things with a positive attitude to obtain a desired outcome that could help them in present time or the near future. One's persona is is the driving force of this dicho. When someone is trying to attain something it all depends on who they are to determine if they will be able to attain their goals. • 12. Descriptive Essay On Exotic Animals A few years ago, my Mom and I went to a fall exotic animal auction, which took place over by Pierz. It was mid October so the mornings had a bite to them and the days were cool. We woke up at 6:00 in the morning so we could get our rabbits, which we were bringing to the auction to sell, settled in their cages. We had filled each cage withhay the night before so they would be warm for the ride there and for the time they'd be stuck sitting in their cages. After we loaded them up, we headed to the auction. Once we arrived at the auction, we brought the bunnies over to the people who tagged their cages and brought them out to the barn to be stacked up next to other cages. The other cages were filled with exotic birds and some other rabbits. In some of the pens inside the auction barn, they had pigs, goats, sheep, and emus. The outside pens had a variety of cow breeds like the shaggy Highlanders and Brahmas. There were also horses, ponies, alpacas, buffalo, and llamas. We always arrive early, so people are still coming in with animals they would be auctioning off that day. My Mom and I went into the auction barn to see if they had anything interesting out there that we might like to acquire. My Mom has several exotic birds at home and loves going to the auction to look at all the exotic birds. Dandelion white smoke spewed out of the chimney, and an old wooden rocking chair moved ever so slightly in the delicate wind. Just inside the door sat a chest filled with quilts of many colors, made with scraps and patches of old clothes. Each piece, with uneven stitches, hand sewn with love. To the left sat a cast iron pot, black as night, heating over the red–orange blaze of the cooking fire. Next to that there was a small wooden table with a plaid cloth draped across it, and two ash grey bowls anxiously waiting to be filled with soup. In the back of the cabin there were two rickety beds that held up mattress made of straw, and on one a small doll with golden locks and heavenly blue eyes. Outside, in the backyard, there was an ice cold creek used for bathing and cleaning, and at the very bottom of the carriageway stood a small girl named Elizabeth Jackson. Elizabeth was a very pretty young girl. She had chocolate brown, wavy hair that was tied up in the back with a ruby red ribbon. Her eyes were emerald green, and she had a smile like no other. • 17. Liabilities of Owning a Farm Thinking of owning a farm? Farming is great for some people but it's not for all. A farm has many assets and liabilities when it comes to finances. One of the assets of owning a farm is seeing the plants grow and making a profit off of those plants. The liabilities of a farm are the purchase of seed, cost of employees, and the cost incurred for plant care. A farm can be very expensive but it can also be very profitable. A liability of owning a crop farm is the expense of corn seed. Seed prices can vary depending on the crop that meets the farmer's needs. Corn has many different types of plant species, from comestible corn to the non–comestible corn. Field corn is a non–comestible corn that is ground into corn silage. Corn silage is used by farmers to feed their livestock but they can't solely feed their livestock corn silage, livestock needs a diet of other foods with the corn silage. It takes 30 pounds of corn seed to cover an acre of a field. Comestible corn seed costs about $485.00 for a 56 pound bag. (Seedland) Now corn is more costs a little more than alfalfa but a farmer can't just feed their livestock corn silage. Most dairy farmer feed their cows a diet of a small percent of silage and then a larger percent of alfalfa hay. Alfalfa hay is used for many things such as for feeding livestock. The "Open Door" was not an official United States policy but was considered "notes" sent between the Far East in the late 1800's and half of the 1900's. The Open Door notes were never a policy and were only drafts of notes sent between John Hay and European countries in an attempt to establish equal trade commerce and equal port availability regardless of nationality. • 21. Hay Bayer Essay Hay Bayler Problem Statement: you have five bales of hay that were weighed in all possible combinations of two, 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 1 and 4, and so on. The weight combination was written down without keeping track of which weight matched which pair of bales. The weights are 80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, and 91. You need to find out which two bales go with which weight and how much bales 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 weigh. Are there more than 1 possibility. Process: my group first did guess and check to try and solve the problem. First we thought that the bales had to be 40–50 because if you had 70+70 it would be out of the range of 80–90 by a lot. Our first guess was that bale 1=42, 2=43, 3=44, 4=40, and bale 5=45. That didn't work so then we tried doing bale 1=42, 2=43, 3=41, 4=47, and bale 5=44. That also didn't work so then we thought. I thought that maybe we had to give bales 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4, and 4 and 5 one of the weights and see if it works. We gave 1 and 2 85, 2 and 3 84, 3 and 4 88, and 4 and 5 91. It worked but when we tried to add 1 and 3, 2 and 5, and 1 and 4 it just fell apart. So that theory did not work. The whole class was having trouble so we did it all together. As for the layout of thestage, there was a couch and a table in center stage for the first two acts, a door to the unseen outside front of the house upstage right, there were two large double doors upstage center leading to the backyard garden, and a raised floor upstage left containing a piano, a bookcase and a door leading to the home library. Stage left there was a half spiral staircase that lead up to the second floor which had a painting and lights that extended across to stage right. The second floor also contained the bedrooms for the house but the doors were not in sight. The detail was greater than expected: the hardwood floor throughout the first floor seemed to be genuine, the actual bookcase filled with real books not stage books, and the extremely large double doors with translucent glass and floral designs lead to the Garden, which featured an array of plants behind the doors. The entire space was well lit for the duration of the play; the stage took place inside the Bliss' home so the bright lighting added a confortable feel to the inside of the house. The theatre was nearly sold out; it was hard to spot an empty seat, including the balcony and lower level seating. The crowd contained nearly an even amount of student audience members and senior citizens; there was few in the audience that appeared middle aged. The play was well cast, the entire Bliss family did a great job showing how overly dramatic and deceitful the family had become. Each actor portrayed their character accurately; there were no standouts that didn't match the character. He is kind and gentle hearted, he would never do anything out of meanness, but yet he is a very misunderstood character. This may be contributed to the fact that Lennie is very large in stature, but I feel it is more of the fact that Lennie doesn't behave like a "normal person" does. Lennie is very different from how society would want him to behave, and in fact he is labeled often as dumb and slow. Unwarranted labeling is disabling, Lennie experienced much of this throughout the duration of his life. Even by his best friend George he was labeled as dumb, slow, and different. Lennie was very much aware of these labels he was given, and he knew if he acted out on his labels he would be viewed differently, scolded, or even punished. So Lennie tried desperately to act how people wanted him too, but in the end it was completely unfair to Lennie because Lennie was expected to do all the work, the full one hundred percent. If people would have stopped and realized that they needed to mindful of Lennie and how his brain works I believe a lot of drama and grief could have been avoided. However, when people do not know what they are doing horses can be dangerous. Over the summer I had gone to visit Claireville Ranch in Brampton, Ontario. The ranch is located close to the city and is a place people go to get away. They offer riding lessons, pony rides, and trail rides. You may also go for hikes and walk your dog. The main area and parking is set a little way off the main road, which makes it quiet. It is a breathtaking area and is great for hikes. However, the horses were kept in a small and dirty paddock behind the barn. They may just be kept there for the day, but it was still not enough space for the amount of horses kept there. There was also an abundance which is understandable at a barn and in the forest, but was still bothersome. The place was extremely crowded with many people riding and waiting at once. • 26. Descriptive Essay On Joe The Horse Ryan Kirkby 4th hour Joe the Horse I stared the horse down. He had a tan coat with snarled white hair. I thought stupid horse. "You drag me out of bed to see this big piece of art" I said to my dad not very happily, because when I can get some beauty sleep which is very rare, I like to enjoy it. This big fathorse has ruined it all. He, Joe the thing simply grunted at me. I woke up on a Saturday naturally feeling great. There was no reason to not be happy. I got dressed in rather scruffy clothes because I don't like looking formal. I walked up the creaky step into the kitchen. The first thing that hit me was pie, I do not mean literally I got hit with pie but as soon as I step in the kitchen I smelled pie. My sister Vanessa and my dad were both eating it and after a big gulp of pie my sister said "Get up, eat pie, hurry, feed horses". I said to my dad "Cut down on her sugar intake." After I inhaled the wonderful pie I got up and started walking to the van. My sister was talking about how wonderful Joe was. Just so you know Joe's a horse. I prefer the big huge scary stallion. We give off the same vibes. We arrived at the horse farm. A place called Sunshine Acres Horse Farm. I got out and started walking along the little path to the one of the barns. Narrative Essay On Emergency Driving It was just a typical day on the Poster farm, a warm breeze blew the smell of hay across the land, the holstein cows bellered in the barn, and the sun shined down on a beautiful June day. They had an everyday routine down, every now and then something would come up and the routine would change. Donna provided all of the meals, was a hardworking farmer, gave all of the advice and love anyone could ask for. • 28. Analysis Of The Last Rung On The Ladder In the short story, "The Last Rung on the Ladder" by Stephen King, the main characters are Katrina, better known as Kitty, and Larry. Kitty is the younger sister, whose trust is mainly in her brother's hands. While Larry is the older brother who loves his sister dearly but is more job/future focused. The author describes both of these characters very well throughout the story. The author also does a very thorough job at showing how the setting affects the plot of the story and how the climax affects the story. One of the main things that Stephen King does to make this story so strong, is using a great description of the setting, characters, and conflict. In the story, "The Last Rung on the Ladder", Stephen King does a great job of showing how the setting impacts the characters, and how the setting affects the climax. " The barn. It was warm, filled with a pleasant mixed aroma of hay and fun and dung, and with the mysterious chuckling, cooing sounds of the barn swallows high up in the third loft."(King14) This quote is showing how Larry describes the barn being so warm and filled with smells, and how it is so deeply mysterious. Later on in the story, this mysterious warm place turns into a place of fear. The main characters, Kitty and Larry, are climbing up and old rickety ladder, and shuffling a crossed a 12ft. long beam. Once over the safety of the hay, they jump down and land in the soft, safeness of the hay. But after going up the ladder a certain amount of times, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Personal Narrative: It's Time To Stay In The Barn I couldn't believe my eyes, as I stood in the barn doorway and saw about nine decapitated chickens lying on the ground. There was blood and feathers spattered all over the walls and cement flooring which meant there must have been quite the struggle. "Stupid chickens, yea why don't you just stay in the barn and be systematically slaughtered instead of, oh I don't know, possibly leaving," I said rhetorically to the slaughtered fowl. After taking a moment to digest what looked like a photo right out of a 1980's horror film. I returned to my senses and began to scan the inside of the barn for a perpetrator. The interior of the barn was a large rectangle about a garage and a half in size. It had no windows or lights, just creaky old rafters that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was an extremely aggravated raccoon that was less than thrilled with me being near its buffet of freshly decapitated dead poultry. I startled and yelled, "What the hell!" I wasn't expecting anything but a cat so it caught me off guard. This must have scared the raccoon because it leaped out of the hay and charged me. I instinctively dropped the flashlight I was carrying and hit the raccoon on the head with the broom. It let out a shriek and scurried towards the barn door, but for some reason decided to just stand there without exiting. My heart was racing so fast that I felt like it was going to jump right out of my chest. I was trying to piece together a plan to make it out of the barn with the only exit being blocked by the raccoon. I began to assume that this raccoon was infected with rabies as it looked bloated and had a mangy grey coat. I knew that if it had rabies, I would need to avoid being bitten or scratched to prevent contraction of the viral disease. I tried to make as much noise as possible by shouting and hitting the ground with the broom. My hope was that the raccoon would just leave the barn peacefully or at least move to the other side of the room so that I could leave. In spite of my efforts this raccoon was just too bullheaded to let me go. Right after I started making noise, it bared its needle–like fangs and charged at me again. I hit it with the broom ... I was not informed properly and I did not do the necessary research that is needed in order to make sure my bunny was being properly fed and had the right kind of nutrition. Hay, mainly timothy hay, is a necessity within a rabbit's diet for many different reasons. Feeding alfalfa hay to a young rabbit is how one should start out when it comes to feeding a rabbit and then eventually lead to feeding a rabbit timothy hay for the rest of it's life. Alfalfa hay has a higher percentage of protein, fiber, calcium, and ash. The alfalfa is needed for younger rabbits because it does have a higher percentage for those certain nutrients which are needed in order to help a younger rabbit grow(Alfalfa versus Timothy Hay for Rabbits.) So why is timothy hay needed after the rabbit is young in order to keep the nutrients up high? This reason is because timothy hay can help to make sure there is not too much of an intake of calcium. What is interesting is the difficulties of serving up "meat" from a stage. It is sort of like running in a cow pasture hoping to get a steak. You are in the wrong place. However, Duvall and Hays do an excellent job in communicating the necessity of exegetical study for anyone who wants to get every bit of meaning out of scripture. They liken it to getting a love letter from someone and how one would read it over and over carefully studying the nuances of every word.
