Mercy Medical Center Experience
It was the 2 in the morning when I arrived home, shoes soaked with what I would pay to be able to say
was just water. Having once been a horror movie buff, I was no stranger to the gruesome. The gory
scenes of Elm Street are extremely difficult to unsee, but even Freddy Krueger's decomposing face
pales in comparison to witnessing first hand the disgusting powers of a broken human body. I have
always wanted to be a doctor. One of the earliest memories is getting my first vaccine. I was deeply
fascinated with the whole procedure and begged the nurse to do it again just so I could have a chance to
figure it out. Other kindergarteners showed up to the class Halloween party as Batman, dreaming about
cool superpowers, but to me, there was nothing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Turns out, she had been injecting drugs through her perineum, and unhygienic needles had quickly
infected the area. Dr. Babb explained to me that cases like this happen all the time and that it would be
a quick, routine, procedure. But when he put her unconscious in the stirrups, and the second he opened
her legs, pus started dripping, he began to look worried. None of us, not Dr. Babb, not the 50 year old
veteran nurse, not the anesthesiologist, and certainly not me, were prepared for the torrent of fluid that
practically tore out of the woman when the tip of Dr. Babb's scalpel poked the cyst. The nurse screamed
and ran out to get a bucket as a mess of rotten flesh, pus, blood, and fecal matter streamed out. Out of
pure survival instinct, I was already halfway out the room. At the sight of my boots dowsed with pus
and a thick layer of copper chunks, I almost fainted and broke my promise to the doctor. Then the smell
hit me, and from then on, everything became a blur. It was the worst thing I have ever smelled, even
including the time my dog got sprayed by a skunk, threw up, and then proceeded to roll around in the
puke. If you could imagine a hundred corpses left to rot in a swamp for three consecutive summers, you
would get somewhat close to the scent that emanated from that patient's

Company Overview Of Mattel, Inc.
Company Overview
Mattel, Inc. ("Mattel", "the Company") is a leading American toy company that designs, manufacturers,
and markets a broad variety of toy products world–wide which are sold to its customers and directly to
consumers. In 1945, Ruth and Elliot Handler and Harold "Matt" Matson founded "Mattel" out of a
garage workshop in Southern California. Though Mattel's first products are picture frames, Elliot soon
developed a side business in dollhouse furniture made from picture frame scraps. Encouraged by the
success of the doll furniture, the founders re–focused the company's emphasis to toys. Currently
headquartered in El Segundo, Southern California, the company operates under the vision of "creating
the future of play."

Salem Festival Review
During the course of October, Salem, Massachusetts has an annual festival that is associated with the
fall season and Halloween called Haunted Happenings. Now as many people flock to Salem on
Halloween night, I opted to stay home even though I heard it was spectacular. Traffic everywhere and
big crowds of people aren't my forte, so I stayed home in Woburn and went out with a few friends down
here. However, I did get to attend a couple events over the course of the month. Starting off on October
1st, after class my friends and I headed down to watch the kickoff grand opening parade. Apparently to
Salem, this parade is a big tradition that everyone comes too to help kickoff the Halloween season.
There were a lot of people, anywhere from kids ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wanted to attend one of the two October shows that they do, either Legacy of the Hanging Judge or
Spirits of the Gables, but the day that I went they were not doing either show. I have heard such great
reviews from people at Salem State and even my mom who had gone about the shows. They basically
get actors and actresses to reenact scenes of what I don't know but the tour guide guides you through
and it sounded so intriguing to me. Like I said before, the night that I went they were not doing shows
but I did get a tour of the house. You learn about every owner of the home as well as the connection of
the home to famous author Nathaniel Hawthorne and how his visits to this house are credited with
inspiring the title of one of his most famous novels The House of the Seven Gables. You walk through
the house with a tour guide and they explain to you everything you need or want to know about the
house. To walk through such tiny spaces and staircases was by far the coolest part. I personally am not
a big historical person so most of it I didn't pay much attention too, but the house was so beautiful and
the garden outside was gorgeous. Also, afterwards you are allowed to take a self–guided tour through
Nathaniel Hawthorne's house that they brought over to the same location as the House of Seven Gables.
Overall, it was an incredible experience to see such a rich part of Salem history that has been there for

Summary Of ' I Am My Dad '
Come here my children let your grandma tell you a story, a true story that had happen to your grandpa
and I. This story takes place in 2015 when your grandpa was 17 and I was 16. We were so young then.
You may say you want to be older but when you turn my age you're going to wish time slowed down.
Gosh those were such happy days if only I could go back in time to when your grandpa and I were
traveling the world together but that's a different story for another time. Let's get back to the story now
where did I leave off at ... oh I remember now. It was your aunt Erin, grandpa, your grandpa's friend
Corey, and myself of course. We just got invited to the biggest Halloween party ever. The party was at
an old abandon hospital that no one had been to in many years. Everyone at the school had heard stories
about why it was abandon but no one believed in them. The story I heard was that the hospital was built
over a cemetery which happens to open on Friday the 13th but they closed it down a year later because
a demon would attack anyone that walk through those hospital doors. I guess it was a good thing they
were at the hospital. *I laugh.* Your grandpa and I were face–timing each other on our iPhone 6 (those
are what we had before all the new gadgets came out) we were going over what costumes to wear so we
could win the costume contest. Your aunt Erin was Super Girl, Corey was Batman, your grandpa was
Superman, and I was Super Woman. There was only one day until the Halloween

Paganism : A Culture Based On Reason, And Their Stories
Introduction: I would like to begin by stating that when we are told about paganism we are often told a
very cartoonish version of it. Pagans are presented as complete idiots, with physical gods riding horses
with eight legs or chariots in the sky being pulled by goat men, etc. In order to understand paganism in
an intelligent manner, and as our ancestors wished it to be understood you must unlearn everything you
know, and remember that paganism was a culture based on reason, and their stories are hyperbole. In
my opinion and the opinion of others who truly understand paganism it is obvious that the pagans told
their stories in such a manner because they were a very artistic people, and could beautifully craft
stories to pass on their knowledge of life to the next generation. They were not boring, or frigid such as
intellectuals from our modern age.
The entire ritual is based around glory and heroism. This is most likely where the phrase dont speak ill
of the dead comes from. They wished at that time for only the glory, heroism, and honor to survive after
a person physically dies. If the person was all bad, then they would not speak of that person so no
children or young adults take that person as a model and the bad qualities of that person hopefully
disappear. The honorable person will survive forever! These stories were told to children who were yet
to complete their initiation so that they could choose a person to emulate, or reincarnate as during their
initiation. It

Bram Stoker's Influence On Dracula
In 1897, Bram Stoker took a risk in writing Dracula and become one of the most acclaimed and well–
known authors in history. Stoker's leap of faith help to lead to a whole new genre. Dracula was one of
the first horror stories to ever be published. Another way that Stoker chose to be unique is the way that
he wrote the stories in first–person journal entries which help the reader to better understand each
character and their personal feelings. Bram Stoker will always be remembered because he is the creator
of Dracula and Vampirism. The influence that Stoker was able to make through Dracula is phenomenal
and will live on until the end of time. Today, everywhere we look we see a little bit of Dracula, from
movies to tv series, to books and blogs. The list never ends with vampire and werewolf themes.
There are three major facts about Dracula that we do not know. For starters, the first transcript of
Dracula was originally five hundred and forty–one pages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

children as well as adults and teens as well. Not only in movies, but Dracula appears in other shows

Villains In Gotham
Gotham has a brilliant roster of villains. Season 3 finished its filming before they were signed off to the
fourth season, so there were some decent tie–ups to leave us to interpret. Because we know where the
characters are going, we were fulfilled. However, even if we still know where they are going, doesn't
mean the ride can't be a blast. Gotham is devoted to each character, the show proves it, and the series
delves into the minds of the iconic evils. Thus far, Riddler, Penguin, Poison Ivy are powerfully
developed and Gotham continues to introduce more, even Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze have made an
appearance.
Excitedly, TV Guide Magazine's Comic–Con Special reports that Gotham season 4 will have a huge
character from Batman: The Long Halloween. The executive producer himself says "probably the most
graphically violent, terrifying villain we've brought in. Some people would call him a butcher." And
coming from Gotham's producer, John Stephens, that means bring on the gore.
Fans are speculating that Stephens is meaning Holiday. Those who have followed through the thirteen–
issue maxiseries are approving this speculation. The gist of the story is that Gotham City ... Show more

The Falcone family has a major presence in Gotham, so the assumption is Alberto will show himself.
Gilda Dent might be slightly trickier because of her relationship to Harvey Dent. As we know, he is yet
to be introduced but Stephens did peak interest to the idea of Two–Face being played by a woman. The
show already carries strong overtones of queer romances, the Penguin's love for Nygma, Barbara and
Tabitha, and portrayed a temporarily healthy relationship between Barbara and Renee Montoya. It is
exciting to see Stephens play with the idea. Whichever way this will go down, Gotham will always be
fascinating to how they explore evil. Television and films can't do enough to see how deep evil can

Oswald Chest Cobblepot In Gotham
Gotham, a crime show, has a cast of interesting archetypes who contribute to the show in their own
ways. One such character is Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, who is the former umbrella–man of Fish
Mooney, a crime lady of Gotham (the city). He is also a wingman of Salviatore Maroni, who is a mob
boss in Gotham. Lastly, he is a spy for Carmine Falcone, who is the head of the Gotham City mobs and
the underworld boss. Oswald Cobblepot, nicknamed The Penguin, because of his "penguin style"
walking, is at first a timid sycophant who uses his devious plans to manipulate others to achieve goals
for Fish Mooney and eventually Carmine Falcone. He has high intellect and is adept at manipulating
others with the resources he is given. However, by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives Falcone to ability to sell off the worthless fellow to the GCPD so he can be killed, but by
using trickery as the trickster is known to do, Cobblepot provides valuable information to Falcone in
order to be killed off by Detective James Gordon of the GCPD, who Cobblepot knows is a trustworthy
officer, and won't kill him. This is an external struggle between the person and death that Cobblepot is
faced with. A major internal struggle he faces is when he decides to betray Falcone in order to become
the "king of Gotham." Essentially, this is the transition from being a trickster to the villain who would
now be the main target for the hero, James Gordon. Cobblepot struggles with whether to stay loyal to
his savior or to betray the one who gave him new life and struggles to answer this question. Oswald
Cobblepot is a trickster and because of his ability to deceive people to meet his ends, his biggest
challenge is against death. Similarly to deceiving people, life almost deceives him when he sells off
Fish Mooney. In a way, death is deceptive that it comes face to face with him at an unexpected time,
similar to how he unexpectedly exposes his boss at a random given

We were both wearing the same band t–shirt. Weird, we had never spoken before, but when we did it
was like we 'd been friends for ages. "Well well well, looks like Alice decided to copy my outfit." He

Batman Compare And Contrast Essay
Two Sides of The Same Pin In the world of comic books, there are so much stories of comic book
characters. Whether be it from a positive point of view, or a negative point of view. Whether it's
Spider–Man teaching us to not give up when going get bad. Or when Batman teaches it is ok to
remember the past, as long you keep moving forward. The comic book genre offers many points of
view, that sometimes they align themselves for the same common cause in different ways. Or
sometimes the contrast each other drastically where, each view is dramatically different from each
other. Alan Moore's Watchmen ideas of super heroes are realistic, and grounded to the brutal reality if

Just like how in Watchmen in the end, where everyone in the team except Rorschach, decided to go
with Ozymandias plan to unify people. The both saw the use of necessary evil like Batman relying on
his enemies help, Ozymandias plan, and The Avengers team up before they liked each other due to a
difference in views at first. In the graphic novel of Watchmen, it does not have a happy ending
compared to the episode, Cold Hearted, from Young Justice. In the ending of Watchmen, half of New
York died, and everyone moves on from that impact. In the ending in Coldhearted, Wally West saved
the day and put away the evil villain, Count Vertigo. Watchmen plays with the idea of having a
morbidly and morally wrong happy ending, because of the nature of the whole graphic novel. Where
people have to die from an unknown enemy to unite everyone for the better good. A saying goes, the
brighter something is, the darker the shadow is. In Watchman's happy ending, the colors seemed so
bright, like how everything in the world is, bright. But at the expense of other lives, we could not unite
ourselves in such a fashion. The ending speaks to the readers that humanity is cruel, and selfish. The

Analysis Of ' The Joker From Batman '
"Why so serious, let's put a smile on that face" it sounds pretty serious now that I am quoting the Joker
from Batman. It surprises me how the Joker is a fictional character but now people have made this
character come to life through their actions. I was only twelve when I had first realized that I had a mild
form of coulrophobia whereas, I felt very uneasy when clowns tried to entertain such as making balloon
animals, spraying water on kids, or playing pranks. "No, I don't want to go the haunted house" it's the

Whether it was through childhood or as an adult, Tim burton has been in everyone's lives. He has

Movie Like Ghostbusters And Harry Potter Essay
Growing up it is common to come across some kind of superhero that completely fascinates us, not
only do we try to mimic their appearance but also the high moral standards they live by. This can range
from only fighting evil, always being polite to the most important factor, consistently saving the day.
Now this action does not have an age limit, superhero fanatics range from all ages, shapes and sizes this
is shown to be true every Halloween and of course comic con. Among today's society the fixation over
an extraordinary human overcoming all adversities and obstacles for the simple purpose of defending
human kind has begun to increase over the years. Films like Ghostbusters and Harry Potter to name a
few reflect just that, this concept is known as the "hero myth." Overshadowing an indirect correlation to
society with the use of the "hero myth" further projects the tangent the public creates when confronted
with unexplainable evils of their own.
Superheros, we are constantly seeing different variation of them on the big screen, but the concept hero
myth brings them all together. Now what exactly is the Hero Myth , In the book "Sings of Life in the
USA" by Sonia Massik and Jack Solomon, a women by the name of Linda Seger provides the infamous
concept of the hero myth. In the section "Creating the Myth", she explains what Hero Myth is; to Seger
the idea of a myth hero is incorporated in all movies in which a hero stars in. There are a total of ten

Archetypal Hero
Introduction
Take a minute to think about your favorite comic book character or the superhero that you admired the
most during your childhood and adolescent years. To name a few, Batman, Spiderman, Harry Potter,
Hercules, and more were just some of the beloved comic book and movie characters that were enjoyed
by children and adults alike. They portrayed the traditional archetypal hero, which was to conquer evil
and bring peace to the land and to the world. Over the years, they have become role models to children
all over the nation, as children would often dress up as their favorite character for Halloween or buy
toys at various stores. Also, they were highly praised by society because they were considered the
"good guy". However, what all these characters have in common is that they are fictional. The depiction
of the traditional hero in the media and literature has had an impact on American culture for decades.
From their brave spirits, to their brute strength, and selfless personalities made the character appealing
to the average person because it gave this ideal almost perfect image of the person that people wished
they could be. Despite the fact that these characters and their qualities are completely fictional, the
praise and the admiration that the character received at the end of the book or movie due to their heroic
deeds targeted every person's secret desire, which is to be respected, honored, and accepted not only by
family and friends, but by society as

The Boy Of The Wolfpack Movie Analysis
From a legal standpoint, one wonders whether there might be an issue with Moselle's introduction to
the boys of The Wolfpack. As the moment when she chased them down on the street, most of them
were technically minors, and the youngest was only eleven years old (Shone 2015). They were out on
the street without their parents, and Moselle, as a thirty year old adult accosts them because she finds
them strange and unusual. She then begins to develop this relationship with them, bonding over their
shared love of movies, teaching them to refine their filming techniques, filming and photographing

As they tell their story, we, the viewers, traverse the boundary between Self and Other as we watch the
Angulo brothers share their more than unconventional experiences growing up in New York City and
their love for film with the camera. Like us, the Angulo brothers have watched movies all their lives.
Unlike us, the Angulo brothers have seen around ten thousand movies and meticulously recreated some
of their favorites, all from the confines of their sixteenth story apartment. Michael Atkinson, a reviewer
for Sight and Sound, a London journal, recognizes these themes and writes, "the Angulos'
developmental Otherness, terribly odd to us and yet immersed in the pop culture we all know just as

Movie Trailers Analysis
Entertainment is the most addicting form of media that people enjoy viewing on their free time. Some
people find entertainment to be either good or bad, depending on what the individual believes to be
appropriate to watch. Most people derive amusement, fun, pleasure, and relaxation from the movies and
TV shows we see in our daily lives. Whether it is a movie trailer we watch or an advertisement on TV
or the way the companies market the material, the material overall can be encapsulating and attracting
toward consumers. In most cases, the materials we watch can leave us feeling a certain way throughout
the course of the day. As technology increases, the need for consumers increases from the wide
majority of the publicity materials that are being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He loved what the Joker did in the movie by tormenting and killing others. The Joker was always
recognized as the smartest villain because he always had boobie traps and poison gas in his arsenal
when it came to weaken and slow down Batman. However, James took what he seen during the movie
and see if he imitates the Joker's mentality. By the end of the film, Holmes had his hair dyed red like
how the Joker's hair was and wore a gas mask like what Joker wore when he tends to poison his victims

Analysis Of The Movie ' The Dark Knight '
What is the typical menu of villainous images placed before us when we dine out at a movie theater? A
scientist has his face deep–cleaned in a bell jar of acid to the epidermal enthusiasm of his "beauticians"
(Darkman); a psychopathic criminal mastermind reigns chaos to the citizens of Gotham (The Dark
Knight) and another sequel, eight years on, despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The Dark
Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent 's crimes, caped crusader feels compelled to intervene to
assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with the villain's (who knows the caped
crusader all too well) plans to destroy the city (The Dark Knight Rises). This raises the question; Is the
role of the villain in Hollywood important for a successful movie? In the movie industry, the success of
a movie is based on the amount of revenue the movie brings in, creativity (whether it be time frame or
characters), and the story line of the movie. But in order to form a valid opinion on whether or not a
villain is needed in a movie to be considered successful, first we must discuss the history of movies that
included villains, iconic movie villains and the success of their movies, and finally, the importance of
the villain in cinema. Literature Review/Background America's collective unconscious has always been
reflected and amplified by the portrayal of Hollywood villains. If one wanted to understand the big
picture broad strokes of America, there is no better

The Amusement Park Six Flags New England
The legendary amusement park Six Flags New England is situated in Western Massachusetts in the city
of Agawam, Massachusetts, and has been running since 1870. During this time, it was originally an
ordinary picnic with a cluster of trees named Gallup's Grove. Subsequently, the park replaced its name
with Riverside, and has had its name of Riverside for the majority of the entire period of the 1900s.
One famous event, known as The 1929 Wall Street Crash, then had an unfortunate effect on the
amusement park, and as a result, the amusement park shut down in 1939 after countless efforts to
reestablish the amusement park. After the Wall Street Crash, Edward Carroll Senior made history when
made an investment and paid for the amusement park, and developed the amusement park into a
notable success in New England. After a century of the amusement park being known as Riverside, it
then changed its name to Six Flags New England in 2000. This amusement park has various rides with
a maximum amount of thrill which have customers at the edge of their seats, less thrilling rides which
are excellent for just sitting back and enjoying themselves without all the maximized thrill, eating,
entertainment, and shopping for relaxing from all the exciting rides and taking it easy, and Hurricane
Harbor to cool you off in the summer and Fright Fest to terrorize and startle you during Halloween.

Compare and Contrast Essay of the Opening Scenes of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and The Nightmare
Before Christmas
This essay compares and contrasts the similarities and the different parts of the opening scenes of two
movies of Tim Burton which are Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The scenes will
be explained in details through the gothic elements and his unique style. Here is an outline of the
essay's main sections;
1. Introduction
Information about Tim Burton and his unique style
Famous for his unique style, Timothy Walter Burton was born on August 25, 1958, in Burbank,
California. As a child, Burton had no interest in the normal education. His world was about art, horror
movies, and painting. A tremendous youngster, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tim Burton's Unique Style/Burtonesque
Just like in his previous movies, in both The Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas, it is
very clear to find Burton's own signature. People have frequently contrasted Burton 's style with the
gothic. The utilization of dark, the dimness of some of his illustrations, the overwhelming make–up, the
whiteness of the skins, beasts and other spooky animals review Gothic writing and works of art yet, in
addition, German Expressionism. The topic of death is ubiquitous in Burton 's specialty regularly joined
with verse and ridicule. The shocking end up noticeably funny and beautiful. He discovers motivation
in the creators he adores like Edgar Allan Poe and Roald Dahl. He appreciates them for the
unpredictability of their stories and the many–sided quality of their universes a long way from being
recently highly contrasting. They are both entertaining and dull and near Burton 's own particular style.
A world brimming with logical inconsistencies, both dull and light, startling and inviting, merciless and
delicate. A world where obscurity lives together with splendid hues, where strange looking individuals
and creatures are overcome and liberal and where the terrible ends up plainly wonderful. Tim Burton
has his own style that remaining parts incomparable and his lavishness has turned out to be to a great
degree famous. His world is such a

Six Flags Research Paper
My topic is on Six Flags, an amazing amusement park in St. Louis. This place has so much imagery
located inside the park, here in a few moments I will explain. On my way to Six Flags we seen
buildings, they were tall as a giant, people was crowding all around the buildings they all looked like
clusters of itty–bitty ants because, they were so many, and also they were walking street to street, I also
seen the Gateway Arch which was tall and you can see everything while you are in there, even the
Cardinal's Game, and hotels which have swimming pools on the top! I would really would love to have
stayed in a hotel that had a swimming pool on the very top of the building..
The language I heard was English and other local languages, people from other countries. Different
languages can be cool at times, but if you do go to an amusement park I consider you knowing the
popular language spoken there which is (English), because, if you ask any questions about something
and they don't know your language your speaking. Six Flags had a ton of delicious food while I was
there, they had a lot of options to choose from to pizza, popcorn, Panda Express, hot dogs, huge burgers,
and turkey legs that was enormous, all the food smelt so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

would recommend going to Six Flags for a getaway for the weekend, it's a breathtaking experience for
family and friends. I would highly recommend going to get away for the weekend they are very

Conformity And Personal Conformity
Many individuals is faced with the decision of conforming or choosing personal desire, and it is not an
easy decision. It is hard because being shunned by others for being different is not a good feeling.
Choosing to conform over personal desire, often leads to loss. On the other hand, personal desire is
what sets others apart and gives them joy. In the poem, "The Jackhammer Syndrome", Al Purdy
discusses the good and bad memories he has experienced. He goes through his memories of when he
had fun and made mistakes, but he reflects on what he could have done better. The author of "The
Jackhammer Syndrome informs against choosing the welcoming joy of conformity over the long–term
gains of personal desire. Making the decision to pursue conformity over personal desire may seem easy
at first, but if the choice is to conform, the joy it gives will not last. Making the decision to pursue
conformity over personal desire Conformity may seem to give joy at first, but it does not last. When Al
is playing pool with his brother, he wants to win badly, but losses. However when he did not care to
win, Al wins! Conforming can lead to loss but personal desire has much to gain. If the choice is to
conform, personal identity may be lost. In my life, I recognize several instances in which I found
several similarities between Al and myself. I have made decisions that were not always good ones such
as swimming across long distances with friends. Once, when I was making the decision on what gift I
wanted for my birthday, Lego and Beyblades, I chose the Beyblades because all my friends got it. I
thought it was a fun toy, but after a while, I realized Beyblades didn't bring me a lot of joy because the
toy was a 2–player game. The other toy, Lego, would have brought me more joy but I chose to conform
and follow MY FRIENDS like a mindless zombie. . SIMILARLY, WWhen I went to China for amy
school trip, again I chose to conform when, we went to the Pearl Market to buy cool gifts for others or
ourselves. I went into this tech shop with friends; it sold some toys and some tech gadgets like lego,
pokemon, some computers, and phonesThat day, I lost a lot of interest in toys. I was interested in the
toys but my friends were buying Beats and

Seeing Double Character Analysis
Final Paper: Seeing Double Picture in your mind the hero or heroine of your favorite comic book and
the villain that they are up against. Notice how the writer portrays the antagonist and protagonist when
capturing your attention and how they put this desire in you to know how the story plays out. It does
not take long until the writer has you captivated and memorized in this tale of good versus evil. It is just
like the old saying, curiosity killed the cat, and now you cannot seem to put the book down. How is the
writer able to accomplish this? There are many answers to this question, but for the most part it can be
generalized in the fact that those characters in particular, always seem to have an air of mystery about
them. To add to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But I might be able to be helpful." (Loeb/Sale). With the extra confidence, Catwoman plays hard to get.
The tidbit of information that Catwoman tells Batman in this scene only helps Batman, it does not help
her achieve anything by telling him. I think that we have all been in Selina Kyle's shoes where we have
a crush on someone and we just want to talk to them, without making it obvious. Selina Kyle comes off
as a caring, soft spoken woman, which is the total opposite of Catwoman. She made her feelings
apparent when she asks Bruce Wayne, "What would it take to let go?" (Loeb/Sale). She is basically
trying to gauge if she is worth it to him, giving up on the fight for the city of Gotham so that they can
be together. She knows that if they stay there that chances are she will not ever really have him in the
capacity that she wants. Every time they are together Batman gets called away. It completely makes
sense why she would become Catwoman because when she is in that role she can take what she wants
and make Batman/Bruce Wayne chase after her. Catwoman makes him question the importance of
restoring Gotham versus starting a life fighting crime with her, somewhere new. He responds to her
better when she is Catwoman because he knows that she understands what it is like living a double life
while keeping it a secret, which is a task he would not place on Selina. Selina's safety would be another
reason he would respond better to Catwoman because if his secret

Miss Representation Character Analysis
Final Essay
The movie Miss Representation begins with the quote "The most common way people give up their
power is by thinking they don't have any" written by Alice Walker. They use this quote to speak to the
audience because society today is so caught up in being what they see in magazine or on television. The
media portrays women to be "skinny, beautiful, tan, flawless" when most of us know what is really
behind the scenes. The women who model in magazines either starve themselves to live their dream of
being a model or they allow the photographer to Photoshop their body into being fit so that's what the
world sees. Young girls who look through these magazine or watch the television such as the "Victoria's
Fashion Show" begin to develop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone should feel comfortable in their own skin whether they are thick or thin, as long as they are
healthy.
Little girls who are entered into beauty pageants should not have to wear flipper teeth or false eye
lashes at that age, they grow up thinking that is the picture perfect image when it is not. When they are
older they become nostalgia, reminiscing on what they were because it all comes back to them when
they watch the media. Women see themselves as objects because 90% of the films out there portray
women as sex objects, and that is how they feel they need to be.
The media even has characters in G rated movies wearing revealing clothes that are just as bad in R
rated movies. Children can't go get a Halloween costume without it being inappropriate because society
makes it seem like everything has to be "sexy". This has been going on for a while now, during the 50's
a women got asked to act in a movie, but she was required to get her back teeth removed so that she
could wear false teeth. Back in modern times women wore more clothing, it is like as time passes
designers are creating clothes with less material because that is "what's in style". Another woman got an
acting offer, but in order for her to take it she had to get Botox to make her appear

The Dark Knight, By Christopher Nolan
The human nature is a very strange aspect of the human race but it is also an important aspect in
everyday life; it makes people who they truly are. Human nature in a way is like water in a container, it
takes the form depending on how the container is shaped. It depends on how one attributes and
characteristics are set, which is what molds a person to be who they truly are. The Dark Knight, which
is directed by Christopher Nolan, is the second installment on Nolan's batman trilogy. It is a story based
on the DC character Batman, who struggles against the odds of the psychotic villain, the joker. In The
Dark Knight, the main characters consist of: Batman, The Joker, Alfred, Lt. James Gordon, Harvey
dent/Two Face, and Rachel Dawes; all of them are characters who played a major role in the film. In
Gotham, Batman increases the risks on his war on crime by setting out to dismantle the remaining
mafia groups that plague the streets. Leading to batman being introduced to the joker and trying to stop
him from unleashing chaos on Gotham city that could plunge it into anarchy. With the use of character
development and motivation, Christopher Nolan portrays the human nature of people, and that even the
most good of people can be corrupted.
Christopher Nolan was greatly influenced by the Joker Comics debuting in 1940, the 1988 graphic
novel The Killing Joke, and the 1996 series The Long Halloween. All which contributed in the
development of the dark knight and are reasons why the

Joker and Batman Essay
Batman (originally referred to as the Bat–Man and still sometimes as the Batman) is a DC Comics
fictional superhero who first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. He has since become,
along with Superman and Spider–Man, one of the world's most recognized superheroes.[1] Batman was
co–created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, although only Kane receives official credit for the
character. Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, billionaire industrialist, playboy, and philanthropist.
Witnessing the murder of his parents as a child leads him to train himself to the peak of physical and
intellectual perfection, don a costume, and fight crime. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess

Finger, like Joe Shuster, Jerry Siegel, and some other creators during and after the Golden Age of
Comic Books, would resent National's denying him the money and credit that, he felt, he was owed for
his creations. At the time of Finger's death, in 1974, he had not been officially credited as a co–creator
of the character. Kane himself, however, in later years willingly acknowledged Finger's contributions to
the character while also insisting on his own role. [5]
[edit] Early years (1939–1949) Batman debuted in Detective Comics #27 (May 1939)The first Batman
story, "The Case of the Chemical Syndicate," appeared in Detective Comics #27, cover–dated May
1939. Finger wrote the first Batman strip and Kane provided the art. Finger said, "Batman was
originally written in the style of the pulps"[6] and this influence was evident with Batman showing
little remorse over killing or maiming criminals. The Bat–Man was a breakout hit, with sales on
Detective Comics soaring to the point that the character was given his own title in 1940. By that time
National was the top–selling and most influential publisher in the industry, and Batman and National's
other major hero Superman were the cornerstones of the company's success.[7] The two characters
were featured side–by–side as the stars of World's Finest Comics, which was originally titled World's
Best Comics when it debuted in fall 1940. Creators including

Mercy Medical Center Experience

  • 1. Mercy Medical Center Experience It was the 2 in the morning when I arrived home, shoes soaked with what I would pay to be able to say was just water. Having once been a horror movie buff, I was no stranger to the gruesome. The gory scenes of Elm Street are extremely difficult to unsee, but even Freddy Krueger's decomposing face pales in comparison to witnessing first hand the disgusting powers of a broken human body. I have always wanted to be a doctor. One of the earliest memories is getting my first vaccine. I was deeply fascinated with the whole procedure and begged the nurse to do it again just so I could have a chance to figure it out. Other kindergarteners showed up to the class Halloween party as Batman, dreaming about cool superpowers, but to me, there was nothing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Turns out, she had been injecting drugs through her perineum, and unhygienic needles had quickly infected the area. Dr. Babb explained to me that cases like this happen all the time and that it would be a quick, routine, procedure. But when he put her unconscious in the stirrups, and the second he opened her legs, pus started dripping, he began to look worried. None of us, not Dr. Babb, not the 50 year old veteran nurse, not the anesthesiologist, and certainly not me, were prepared for the torrent of fluid that practically tore out of the woman when the tip of Dr. Babb's scalpel poked the cyst. The nurse screamed and ran out to get a bucket as a mess of rotten flesh, pus, blood, and fecal matter streamed out. Out of pure survival instinct, I was already halfway out the room. At the sight of my boots dowsed with pus and a thick layer of copper chunks, I almost fainted and broke my promise to the doctor. Then the smell hit me, and from then on, everything became a blur. It was the worst thing I have ever smelled, even including the time my dog got sprayed by a skunk, threw up, and then proceeded to roll around in the puke. If you could imagine a hundred corpses left to rot in a swamp for three consecutive summers, you would get somewhat close to the scent that emanated from that patient's ... ("Mattel", "the Company") is a leading American toy company that designs, manufacturers, and markets a broad variety of toy products world–wide which are sold to its customers and directly to consumers. In 1945, Ruth and Elliot Handler and Harold "Matt" Matson founded "Mattel" out of a garage workshop in Southern California. Though Mattel's first products are picture frames, Elliot soon developed a side business in dollhouse furniture made from picture frame scraps. Encouraged by the success of the doll furniture, the founders re–focused the company's emphasis to toys. • 5. Salem Festival Review During the course of October, Salem, Massachusetts has an annual festival that is associated with the fall season and Halloween called Haunted Happenings. Now as many people flock to Salem on Halloween night, I opted to stay home even though I heard it was spectacular. Traffic everywhere and big crowds of people aren't my forte, so I stayed home in Woburn and went out with a few friends down here. However, I did get to attend a couple events over the course of the month. Starting off on October 1st, after class my friends and I headed down to watch the kickoff grand opening parade. Apparently to Salem, this parade is a big tradition that everyone comes too to help kickoff the Halloween season. There were a lot of people, anywhere from kids ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I wanted to attend one of the two October shows that they do, either Legacy of the Hanging Judge or Spirits of the Gables, but the day that I went they were not doing either show. I have heard such great reviews from people at Salem State and even my mom who had gone about the shows. They basically get actors and actresses to reenact scenes of what I don't know but the tour guide guides you through and it sounded so intriguing to me. Like I said before, the night that I went they were not doing shows but I did get a tour of the house. You learn about every owner of the home as well as the connection of the home to famous author Nathaniel Hawthorne and how his visits to this house are credited with inspiring the title of one of his most famous novels The House of the Seven Gables. You walk through the house with a tour guide and they explain to you everything you need or want to know about the house. To walk through such tiny spaces and staircases was by far the coolest part. I personally am not a big historical person so most of it I didn't pay much attention too, but the house was so beautiful and the garden outside was gorgeous. Also, afterwards you are allowed to take a self–guided tour through Nathaniel Hawthorne's house that they brought over to the same location as the House of Seven Gables. Overall, it was an incredible experience to see such a rich part of Salem history that has been there for so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Summary Of ' I Am My Dad ' Come here my children let your grandma tell you a story, a true story that had happen to your grandpa and I. This story takes place in 2015 when your grandpa was 17 and I was 16. We were so young then. You may say you want to be older but when you turn my age you're going to wish time slowed down. Gosh those were such happy days if only I could go back in time to when your grandpa and I were traveling the world together but that's a different story for another time. Let's get back to the story now where did I leave off at ... oh I remember now. It was your aunt Erin, grandpa, your grandpa's friend Corey, and myself of course. We just got invited to the biggest Halloween party ever. The party was at an old abandon hospital that no one had been to in many years. Everyone at the school had heard stories about why it was abandon but no one believed in them. The story I heard was that the hospital was built over a cemetery which happens to open on Friday the 13th but they closed it down a year later because a demon would attack anyone that walk through those hospital doors. I guess it was a good thing they were at the hospital. *I laugh.* Your grandpa and I were face–timing each other on our iPhone 6 (those are what we had before all the new gadgets came out) we were going over what costumes to wear so we could win the costume contest. Your aunt Erin was Super Girl, Corey was Batman, your grandpa was Superman, and I was Super Woman. There was only one day until the Halloween ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Paganism : A Culture Based On Reason, And Their Stories Introduction: I would like to begin by stating that when we are told about paganism we are often told a very cartoonish version of it. Pagans are presented as complete idiots, with physical gods riding horses with eight legs or chariots in the sky being pulled by goat men, etc. In order to understand paganism in an intelligent manner, and as our ancestors wished it to be understood you must unlearn everything you know, and remember that paganism was a culture based on reason, and their stories are hyperbole. In my opinion and the opinion of others who truly understand paganism it is obvious that the pagans told their stories in such a manner because they were a very artistic people, and could beautifully craft stories to pass on their knowledge of life to the next generation. They were not boring, or frigid such as intellectuals from our modern age. The entire ritual is based around glory and heroism. This is most likely where the phrase dont speak ill of the dead comes from. They wished at that time for only the glory, heroism, and honor to survive after a person physically dies. If the person was all bad, then they would not speak of that person so no children or young adults take that person as a model and the bad qualities of that person hopefully disappear. The honorable person will survive forever! These stories were told to children who were yet to complete their initiation so that they could choose a person to emulate, or reincarnate as during their initiation. It ... • 11. Bram Stoker's Influence On Dracula In 1897, Bram Stoker took a risk in writing Dracula and become one of the most acclaimed and well– known authors in history. Stoker's leap of faith help to lead to a whole new genre. Dracula was one of the first horror stories to ever be published. Another way that Stoker chose to be unique is the way that he wrote the stories in first–person journal entries which help the reader to better understand each character and their personal feelings. Bram Stoker will always be remembered because he is the creator of Dracula and Vampirism. The influence that Stoker was able to make through Dracula is phenomenal and will live on until the end of time. Today, everywhere we look we see a little bit of Dracula, from movies to tv series, to books and blogs. The list never ends with vampire and werewolf themes. • 13. Villains In Gotham Gotham has a brilliant roster of villains. Season 3 finished its filming before they were signed off to the fourth season, so there were some decent tie–ups to leave us to interpret. Because we know where the characters are going, we were fulfilled. However, even if we still know where they are going, doesn't mean the ride can't be a blast. Gotham is devoted to each character, the show proves it, and the series delves into the minds of the iconic evils. Thus far, Riddler, Penguin, Poison Ivy are powerfully developed and Gotham continues to introduce more, even Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze have made an appearance. Excitedly, TV Guide Magazine's Comic–Con Special reports that Gotham season 4 will have a huge character from Batman: The Long Halloween. The executive producer himself says "probably the most graphically violent, terrifying villain we've brought in. Some people would call him a butcher." And coming from Gotham's producer, John Stephens, that means bring on the gore. Fans are speculating that Stephens is meaning Holiday. Those who have followed through the thirteen– issue maxiseries are approving this speculation. The gist of the story is that Gotham City ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Falcone family has a major presence in Gotham, so the assumption is Alberto will show himself. Gilda Dent might be slightly trickier because of her relationship to Harvey Dent. As we know, he is yet to be introduced but Stephens did peak interest to the idea of Two–Face being played by a woman. The show already carries strong overtones of queer romances, the Penguin's love for Nygma, Barbara and Tabitha, and portrayed a temporarily healthy relationship between Barbara and Renee Montoya. It is exciting to see Stephens play with the idea. Whichever way this will go down, Gotham will always be fascinating to how they explore evil. One such character is Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, who is the former umbrella–man of Fish Mooney, a crime lady of Gotham (the city). He is also a wingman of Salviatore Maroni, who is a mob boss in Gotham. Lastly, he is a spy for Carmine Falcone, who is the head of the Gotham City mobs and the underworld boss. Oswald Cobblepot, nicknamed The Penguin, because of his "penguin style" walking, is at first a timid sycophant who uses his devious plans to manipulate others to achieve goals for Fish Mooney and eventually Carmine Falcone. This is an external struggle between the person and death that Cobblepot is faced with. A major internal struggle he faces is when he decides to betray Falcone in order to become the "king of Gotham." Essentially, this is the transition from being a trickster to the villain who would now be the main target for the hero, James Gordon. Cobblepot struggles with whether to stay loyal to his savior or to betray the one who gave him new life and struggles to answer this question. Oswald Cobblepot is a trickster and because of his ability to deceive people to meet his ends, his biggest challenge is against death. Similarly to deceiving people, life almost deceives him when he sells off Fish Mooney. Personal Narrative Essay : My Best Friend Jade, Samantha, Mason, and I were walking down Creep Street thinking of a way to get to the next neighborhood in less than fifteen minutes so we could get more Halloween candy. Jade is my best friend. We've known each other since kindergarten. Mason and I met each other at school last year while being office assistants. I met Samantha in P.E. at school last year. Out of the three of my friends, I'm closest to Jade because we've known each other for a long time. We all dressed as DC comic book characters. Mason was Batman, Samantha was Black Canary, Jade was Cheshire, and I was Artemis, Cheshire's little sister. We are all teenagers, but we still went trick or treating because you're never too old to trick or treat. "Maybe we should cut through the forest. It will only take ten minutes at the most to get to the next neighborhood," said Samantha. It was her neighborhood, so we all agreed that we should take a shortcut through the forest. So we started walking. It was a full moon that night, and it was really breezy too. "It's so cold out here," I said with a chattering voice, " and really spooky." "Stop!" yelled Mason with fear in his voice, "Where are Jade and Samantha? I thought they were walking right there next to you." "I don't know! They were there a minute ago. Let's look for them," I said while wondering where they went. Mason and I looked and called for them for hours and hours. Finally, we gave up. We found a log to sit on and ... In the ending of Watchmen, half of New York died, and everyone moves on from that impact. In the ending in Coldhearted, Wally West saved the day and put away the evil villain, Count Vertigo. Watchmen plays with the idea of having a morbidly and morally wrong happy ending, because of the nature of the whole graphic novel. As tempted as I am to fall back to sleep I force myself out of bed, struggling to take the bedsheets off me. I clumsily make my way toward the bathroom and shut the door behind me; I bring myself to the sink to splash cold water on my face, as I struggle to open my eyes I see a scary image reflect on the left side of my mirror. • 29. • 35. Archetypal Hero Introduction Take a minute to think about your favorite comic book character or the superhero that you admired the most during your childhood and adolescent years. To name a few, Batman, Spiderman, Harry Potter, Hercules, and more were just some of the beloved comic book and movie characters that were enjoyed by children and adults alike. They portrayed the traditional archetypal hero, which was to conquer evil and bring peace to the land and to the world. Over the years, they have become role models to children all over the nation, as children would often dress up as their favorite character for Halloween or buy toys at various stores. Also, they were highly praised by society because they were considered the "good guy". However, what all these characters have in common is that they are fictional. The depiction of the traditional hero in the media and literature has had an impact on American culture for decades. From their brave spirits, to their brute strength, and selfless personalities made the character appealing to the average person because it gave this ideal almost perfect image of the person that people wished they could be. Despite the fact that these characters and their qualities are completely fictional, the praise and the admiration that the character received at the end of the book or movie due to their heroic deeds targeted every person's secret desire, which is to be respected, honored, and accepted not only by family and friends, but by society as ... • 41. Analysis Of The Movie ' The Dark Knight ' What is the typical menu of villainous images placed before us when we dine out at a movie theater? A scientist has his face deep–cleaned in a bell jar of acid to the epidermal enthusiasm of his "beauticians" (Darkman); a psychopathic criminal mastermind reigns chaos to the citizens of Gotham (The Dark Knight) and another sequel, eight years on, despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The Dark Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent 's crimes, caped crusader feels compelled to intervene to assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with the villain's (who knows the caped crusader all too well) plans to destroy the city (The Dark Knight Rises). This raises the question; Is the role of the villain in Hollywood important for a successful movie? In the movie industry, the success of a movie is based on the amount of revenue the movie brings in, creativity (whether it be time frame or characters), and the story line of the movie. But in order to form a valid opinion on whether or not a villain is needed in a movie to be considered successful, first we must discuss the history of movies that included villains, iconic movie villains and the success of their movies, and finally, the importance of the villain in cinema. It is hard because being shunned by others for being different is not a good feeling. Choosing to conform over personal desire, often leads to loss. On the other hand, personal desire is what sets others apart and gives them joy. In the poem, "The Jackhammer Syndrome", Al Purdy discusses the good and bad memories he has experienced. He goes through his memories of when he had fun and made mistakes, but he reflects on what he could have done better. The author of "The Jackhammer Syndrome informs against choosing the welcoming joy of conformity over the long–term gains of personal desire. Making the decision to pursue conformity over personal desire may seem easy at first, but if the choice is to conform, the joy it gives will not last. When Al is playing pool with his brother, he wants to win badly, but losses. However when he did not care to win, Al wins! Conforming can lead to loss but personal desire has much to gain. If the choice is to conform, personal identity may be lost. In my life, I recognize several instances in which I found several similarities between Al and myself. I have made decisions that were not always good ones such as swimming across long distances with friends. Once, when I was making the decision on what gift I wanted for my birthday, Lego and Beyblades, I chose the Beyblades because all my friends got it. I think that we have all been in Selina Kyle's shoes where we have a crush on someone and we just want to talk to them, without making it obvious. Selina Kyle comes off as a caring, soft spoken woman, which is the total opposite of Catwoman. She made her feelings apparent when she asks Bruce Wayne, "What would it take to let go?" (Loeb/Sale). She is basically trying to gauge if she is worth it to him, giving up on the fight for the city of Gotham so that they can be together. She knows that if they stay there that chances are she will not ever really have him in the capacity that she wants. Every time they are together Batman gets called away. It completely makes sense why she would become Catwoman because when she is in that role she can take what she wants and make Batman/Bruce Wayne chase after her. They use this quote to speak to the audience because society today is so caught up in being what they see in magazine or on television. The media portrays women to be "skinny, beautiful, tan, flawless" when most of us know what is really behind the scenes. He has since become, along with Superman and Spider–Man, one of the world's most recognized superheroes.[1] Batman was co–created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, although only Kane receives official credit for the character.
