2. Props
Mug: Opens the film to show what is perceived to be a normal day: this is
why the character sees the figure.
Mirror: Common prop used within the conventions of psychological
thrillers; used to show the reflection of a characters inner self, and can also
portray the dark side to some characters.
Computer: This important prop shows messages from an anonymous
person, which fits in with him being an office worker.
Train: Builds up suspense as it gradually reveals through the film how his
wife died.
Phone: A common prop as most people have one, therefore people can
relate to the film, but also it is the key to why his wife got killed.
Hospital bed: This can relate to our chosen genre as it is a popular location
for psychological thriller films. It also shows the idea that he is mentally
unstable as he keeps seeing his dead wife, therefore creates an eerie tone.
3. Costumes
Tie: To portray a sense of realism as he is wearing everyday clothes for his job.
Ava will be wearing normal, everyday clothes in the film, however will have blood
on them to show this is what she was wearing when she died.
Doctors: Will be wearing smart clothes, with a white cloak to show our psychiatric
aspect.
