4. AC Dimmer
▸ The AC Dimmer is a tool for
adjusting AC voltage (and
current) by adjusting its
phase angle of the voltage
sine wave

The basic circuit of AC
Dimmer is using TRIAC
to control phase angle

TRIAC, or Triode for Alternating Current (Triode
Thyristor) is an electronic component that is
approximately the equivalent of two SCRs
connected antiparallel and the gates
connected together.

TRIAC shows a toggle switch that can carry electric
current in both directions when triggered (turned on). This
can be ignited by either a positive or negative voltage at
the gate electrode. Once ignited, this component will
continue to deliver until the current flowing is lower than
the handheld current, for example at the end of the half
cycle of alternating current
