Editor's Notes
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, Thank you for giving my team and I the opportunity to take on the research problem on behalf of BSA. Before I move on, let me first introduce my group mates. We have Li jiuan , Ethel, Lin Yao and Edmond. We understand that poor participant rates from current students has been a problem for BSA. Today Our purpose here is to share our key findings and highlight possible recommendations for the problem.
Now let bring you to a quote from straits time reported last august.
We move on to a more recent news 16 Feb 2009, this article speaks on What will it take for alumni to give back? . And we have Jonathan Kwok from NUS highlighting he would contribute as an alumnus. To add to the good news, we have 52% of respondent from our studies showing they would be interested in contributing back to school. In our research studies among 50 current students in business school we will make recommendations to our finding and that brings me to our outline.

Following that ethtel look into Ineffective communication channels
And li yao will focus Insufficient information

Summary
To tackle low level of awareness, it is recommended that BSA improves on its overall marketing strategy.
Why marketing? Because, marketing is one of the most important tools to shape and influence people’s perceptions and actions.
Thus, improvements can be made in 3 areas.
Firstly, is to get closer to the current students through face-to-face interactions. This would add a sense of human touch & identity. Unlike the current forms of communications used, which is mainly through electronic means. Furthermore, through these interactions, BSA can better understand the needs of students who are the future alumni members. As seen from the pie chart, 58% of students are interested in participating in Alumni activities with 12% of students expressing strong interest.
Secondly, it is important that BSA do not neglect its existing alumni members while getting new members. This would enable BSA to leverage on the
47 Respondents ranked SMS as either their 1st, 2nd or 3rd preferred choice
Benefits – popular mode, convenient, reach out to the masses
Thank you Ethel. Now I will touch on the next recommendation --- increase provision of information
We have identified three main areas which we believe that you may like to offer more information to the students. They are---career services, networking sessions and merchant/dining privileges.
Based on our study, we found out that Among current privileges available, respondents are better aware of the networking sessions, career services and exclusive events, as can be seen from this diagram: the yellow bar represents the no. of respondents who are aware of the NWS followed by the green bar for CS and Pink bar for invitation to exclusive events.
However, despite being aware of the services, the study shows that respondents felt a lack of information provided on the career services, networking sessions and merchant/ dining privileges as shown by the diagram. The length of the red and yellow bar indicates the no. of respondents who would like more information on the corresponding services and privileges. 21 respondents indicated career services as their first priority
Therefore, we suggest that additional information of these services and privileges should be provided to allow students to find out more about their preferred activities. In addition, timely and keep the students up to date, by doing so, they will likely to involve in these activities as their interests and needs are well looked after.
This information should be provided timely and ensure it is up-to-date to keep students informed through efficient channels of communications as mentioned by Ethel, such as Emails and SMS, by doing so, they will likely to involve in these activities as their interests and needs are well looked after and at the same time, sufficient provision of information will also raise students’ awareness of the goals and activities of the BSA. As a result, you may see a better participation rate of BSA.
Now I shall pass the time to Edmond to discuss the next recommendation on revamp the image of the BSA
Improve marketing strategy
Streamline communication modes
Increase provision of communications
Revamp BSA’s image
