SUMMARY
Consideration of a Resolution approving and authorizing the City Manager to execute a three-year
contract with Olameter Corporation for water meter reading services.
BACKGROUND
The City and Olameter entered into a contract on August 1, 2016 for water meter reading services.
The original contract was for a three-year term with automatic renewals. The agreement was later
amended to a five-year term. The agreement expired on July 31, 2021. The renewal agreement will
be for a three-year contract with the first year including an 8% increase in pricing and annual
pricing adjustments approved by both the City and Olameter for the second and third year of the
agreement. There is a 180-day termination clause in the original agreement by either City and
Olameter.
FISCAL IMPACT
Contract cost for the first year includes an 8% price increase and should be approximately $20,000
per year.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH
OLAMETER CORPORATION FOR WATER METER READING
SERVICES; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City’s water meters are currently being read by the Olameter Corporation
per the contract approved by city council on July 25, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement term and extensions have expired as of July 31, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the City has been satisfied with the performance of Olameter and City and
Olameter would like to enter into a new three-year agreement with an increase in pricing; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the agreement from Olameter Corporation
to provide water meter reading services is best for the City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALAMO HEIGHTS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The agreement from Olameter Corporation for water meter reading services
is accepted subject to the execution of an appropriate contract for such services.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to negotiate the terms of the contract and
execute a contract on behalf of the City for such services and to appropriate sufficient funds in the
annual budget to pay for such services.
THIS RESOLUTION SHALL TAKE EFFECT UPON ITS ADOPTION.
