1. NEWS LETTER PERPIGNAN 2019
Artistic Pedagogy and Inclusion are the points we’ve worked with during the
week.
Saturday 5th
of October :
The first day we’ve visited our host town Argelès-sur-mer which was the
theater of a very important exile of Spanish and Catalan Republicans during the
Civil Spanish War from 1936 to 1939. A lot of them lived in Argeles’ beach and
stay in camps. For the 80th
anniversary of the Retirada we’ve visited the
Retirada Memorial on the morning.
On the afternoon, we’ve walked from the more southern point of Argeles to the
more northern point, from the Racou to the Camping Roussillonnais.
2. Sunday 6th
of October :
Museum Maillol in Banyuls-sur-mer.
Maillol was a very famous catalan sculptor and a lot of his statues are exposed
around the world, in Perpignan and in Banyuls too.
To continue the task around Maillol we’ve proposed to the students to make a
draw of one of the statues of the sculptor in the mail of Banyuls helped by an
art teacher of our school.
3. On the afternoon we’ve visited Collioure and the castle. The students in mixed
groups had to take picture with the frame of Marc André 2 Figueres with
inclusion theme, funny theme or serious theme.
4. Monday 7th
of October :
During the morning we’ve divided the whole group in 4 mixed with students of
each country in it. Both of them had 2 artistic workshops between dancing,
singing, drawing and acting (the 2 others workshops would take place on
Wednesday morning).
Dancing workshop: creation of a group battle on “introduction of West Side
Story” ending with an inclusion at the end of the story.
Singing workshop: creation of a simple group choreography singing “Imagine” of
John Lennon
Drawing workshop: creation of a drawing including the Maillol statue in a picture
of Picasso’s High School.
Theater workshop: creation of a little scene around inclusion and helping hands.
On the afternoon, every country could rehearsal their performance on stage in
the amphitheater of our High School. During about 2 hours the students make
the programme for Tuesday afternoon day of the show of their presentation.
They choose which country will begin and manage the rehearsal themselves.
5. Tuesday 8th
of October:
On the morning, visite of Perpignan and the main monuments with an explanation
in English prepared by the French students: le Castillet , the Saint Jean
Cathedrale , the Palais of Mallorca Kings….
On the afternoon, show of the performances of each country based in the
greatest Showman’s song “This is me” recalled “Include me” for the occasion.
Each country could make his own artistic creation.
Germany: a very good theatral dancing
Greece: a nice solo dance
Italy: a very beautiful dance
6. Poland: an emotional live song
France: a very good theater, dancing and singing mix
CONGRATULATIONS Teams for the very good work !!
At night we went to the Theatre de l’Archipel in Perpignan to see a Dance
Presentation: “Moving” with the possibility, at the end of the show, to talk with
the dancers and choreographer.
7. Wednesday 9th
of October:
On the morning at school, artistic workshops for the groups that didn’t do it on
Monday. Same theme and same teachers in every workshops.
On the afternoon, visite of Theâtre de l’Archipel in Perpignan: history of the
monument, work in each part of the theater, the different rooms for shows and
rehearsal, technical parts ….
At night, ending party with music and dance.
