3. Day 1
In the morning we went to school where we
found the Spanish students studying.
At first they showed us at their school.
Then we watched videos with
information about all the
countries participating in the
SMILE project.
Painting on the walls of the school
4. The Cypriot students
presented a song they
composed about Sea and the
Italian students performed
an authentic dance inspired
by the project.
Finally we all rehearsed the
traditional Spanish song “La
Tarara”, accompanied by a
Spanish student playing the
piano and a Greek student
playing the flute.
Watching the Italian dance
5. Then, we went to the City Hall of
Rincon de La Victoria, where the
local Authorities welcomed us,
they informed us about the
history of this area and gave us a
lot of presents.
Outside the City Hall
After that, we visited the Treasure Caves. A myth says that the spirit of a
girl who died there, wanders in the caves and people can listen to her.
Also a man named Manuel Laza Palacios wanted to find a hidden
treasure but one day some explosives blew up and killed him.
6.
7. In the afternoon we
studied the construction of
the “Jabegas”, the
traditional Andalusian
boats, and we sailed on
them.
At night we went to a
traditional Spanish
restaurant and we ate
delicious, typical Spanish
food.
8. Day 2
The whole day included historical and artistic workshops in
the city of Malaga.
In the morning we visited the Roman Theatre which is like the
Greek amphitheatre.
9. After that we went to the
Alcazaba castle. It was
built between the 10th-
15th century.
10. At noon we went to the Picasso's
museum.
We have to mention that Malaga is
Picasso’s birthplace.
This museum includes a marvelous
exhibition of Picasso’s paintings and a lot
of impressive and strange iron structures
made by Picasso and Alexander Calder.
11. After that, we walked in the historical centre of
Malaga city, admiring its impressive buildings.
12.
13. It was obvious that we wanted to
visit the cathedral church, too.
When we entered, we saw the
<organ> – it was the very first time
to see it - and a lot of paintings on
the walls from the Christian era. It surprised us that the scenes are different
from those of the Orthodox religion.
14. In the afternoon we visited a marine museum. We watched a
documentary about the fish of the Mediterranean sea and then
we saw a lot of different kinds of them having strange colors and
shapes.
At the end of the day we returned at Rincon de la Victoria.
A short break outside the Sea Museum
15. Day 3
The third day we visited Alhambra, the most surprising and
astonishing castle of the world!!!!
It includes a palace and a fortress located in Granada.
In the beginning it was a small fortress built in AD 889 , upon
the ruins of some older Roman fortifications.
Then it was abandoned until its ruins were renovated and
rebuilt in the mid 13th century.
Alhambra is the reflection of the Arab Muslim culture
flourished at Andalus, where the Nutrid Emirate of Granada
was founded.

Kings, inside Alhambra
17.
18. After visiting
Alhambra, we went to
the village of Granada.
That is a wonderful
place with many
picturesque streets.
Its most amazing point
that sparks your
interest, is its main
square with its
amazing view: from
there one may see the
Alhambra castle,
something that will
remain vivid in one’s
mind for ever!!!!
19. After that, we went to a magnificent restaurant named “Terrata
Abayzin”. There, we ate delicious traditional local dishes.
I think that this day was very special as all the Greek students
and teachers had the fun of our lives.
20. Day 4
In the morning of
that day we had free
time to do everything
we wanted.
At noon we cooked
traditional Greek
dishes at the host
houses, while our
teachers spent their
free time with the
teachers of the other
schools.
21. In the afternoon we went to the “Pena el Piyayo”, a
traditional Andalusian tavern, where we watched a flamenco
show.
It was fantastic!
22.
23. There, all the host families cooked traditional dishes and treated
us .
After eating, all the students got on stage and we sang the “La
Tarara”, a famous Andalusian song.
This day was fantastic!
24. On the fifth day we
visited Antequera
with its famous
Paleolithic
megaliths!!!
We saw the
dolmens of
Antequera and
admired the
breathtaking view
of a face-shaped
mountain just
opposite to it.
Day 5
25. Then we went by bus to
the famous Torcal and had
a workshop related to the
unique geological history
of this site: its erosions,
floods, tectonic
movements.
We walked up to the top
of the amazingly shaped
rocks and took pictures.
26.
27.
28. Before leaving the Torcal, we participated in a music workshop
based on the flamenco rhythms and styles we had learnt the
previous day.
29. After our trip, we went at a
local restaurant and listened
to some traditional music.
Later we returned to our
hosts’ houses and had some
rest.
In the evening all the
students went in a pizzeria
and we all had been crying
by the time we went in our
homes, as the time of
separation came.
30. I have to say that this week in Malaga was a memorable
experience and I’m gonna miss all the wonderful persons I met
there because they are my second family.
