2. In terms of this digipak ‘Stereo typical’ by the artists Rizzle Kicks, it feature both of the
artists who are present on the front cover. It takes a first person mode of address, through
the artists looking directly towards the audience as the main subjects of the album cover,
where they are framed in a mid shot. In terms of the colour scheme he background colour
is fairly plain and it has a basic construction with the use of a picture as the main focus,
therefore helping us to recognise the artists. This could be possibly due to the fact that its
their first album, therefore trying to gain recognition of their faces.
The back cover also
features a fairly
simple look,
positioning the title
of the tracks in the
middle of the cover
and also using the
same colour
scheme as the
front.
3. In terms of this front cover of the album
‘original pirate material’ the cover is made up
primarily of a single image of a high story flat.
This therefore may have some sort of
connotation to the artists name ‘The streets’
and therefore have some direct link to the
artist of the album.
Furthermore, the fact that the genre is
British hip hop It helps to reflect the
typical environment of the artist, due to
the fact that they are not as high profile or
constructed with as much of a perfect
lifestyle as other artists can be.
4. One again this album cover, like
the streets represents the artist
with some street-type-look, where
the use of costume helps to
reinforce this through him wearing
a tracksuit.
This image used as the album
cover helps to link to the title of
the album ‘Playtime is over’ due to
the fact that Wiley is standing in an
empty park location, where the
use of props such as a bike,
basketball are all left on the floor.
The use of colour scheme is
evident In this album cover, where
the props, artist and climbing
frame all have some sort of
greyscale effect.
5. This EP (mini album) from Foreign Beggars also uses an illustrative album cover to link
directly to the title of the album. The title ‘The harder they fall’ has a link to death in
this case, therefore having some sort of connotation to fate. The fact that there is a
symbol of a star in the middle of the three skulls, therefore may reinforce the fact that
it is representing the fall of stars within the music industry and the fact that it
references the mode of address in the title as the word ‘they’ may enforce this.
