1. PowerPoint
It’s not a coincidence that I used a PowerPoint slide as my
first presentation slide. In college courses and in high school,
my go-to presentation software was and to some degree still
is PowerPoint. I think that when it comes to the use of
different tools that it is a matter of comfort, but in order for
students to learn new ways of presenting material, the
educators have to learn it first. One benefit of teachers using
the same presentation style in classes that I have been in is
the ease with which we picked up the material and were able
to duplicate (with teacher-led assistance) what we saw on
the screen. Some of the disadvantages associated with
using the same presentation style like PowerPoint include
students losing interest in the content being presented or
getting bored with the way the material is presented.
