5. SOLAR ARRAY
● A set of solar panel is known as SOLAR
ARRAY .
● It collects the energy from sun and
converts it into usable electrical energy .

WORKS
● Solar panels are usually made from silicon,
or another semiconductor material installed in
a metal panel frame with a glass casing.
● When this material is exposed to photons of
sunlight it releases electrons and produces an
electric charge.

9. BATTERIES
● The BATTERIES (eg. NiMH, NiCd, Lithium ion &
Lithium polymer) store energy from the power tracker
and makes them available for the motor's use.
● They operates in a range of 80 to 170 volts
10. MOTOR CONTROLLER
● The motor controller adjusts the amount of
energy that flows to the motor to correspond to
the throttle.
● The motor uses that energy to drive the wheels

● It should work with optimal power
and the efficiency should be high.

can produce mechanical energy using

12. PAST / PRESENT OF SOLAR VEHICLE
The first model solar car invented was a
tiny 15-inch vehicle created by General
Motors employee, William G. Cobb.
Designated the Sunmobile, he displayed it
in 1955 at the Chicago, Powerama
convention.
The Lightyear 0 (formerly the Lightyear
One) is an all-solar-electric vehicle by the
Dutch car manufacturer Lightyear. The
first units of it were delivered in
December 2022 .
