It was narrated that ‘Uthman bin Abul-‘As Thaqafi said:
“I came to the Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬ and I was suffering pain that
was killing me. The Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬ said to me: ‘Put your right
hand on it and say: Bismillah, a’udhu bi’izzatil-lahi wa
qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru. (In the Name of
Allah, I seek refuge in the might and power of Allah from
the evil of what I feel and what I fear),” seven times.’ I said
that, and Allah healed me.” Sahih Muslim

Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said that he
had heard that Khalid ibn al-Walid said to the Messenger of Allah,
may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "I have nightmares."
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, said to him, "Say, 'I seek refuge with the complete words
of Allah from His anger and His punishment and the evil of His
slaves, and from the evil suggestions of the shayatin and from
their being present (at death).' " MuwattaMalik

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
The Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬ used to seekRefuge with Allah for Al-Hasan and Al-
Husain and say: "Your forefather (i.e. Abraham) used to seek Refuge with
Allah for Ishmaeland Isaac by reciting the following: 'O Allah! I seek
Refuge with Your PerfectWords from every devil and from poisonous pests
and from every evil, harmful, envious eye.' "

Yahya related to me from Malik that Yahya ibn Said said, "When the
Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,was taken
on the Night Journey, he saw an evil jinn seeking him with a torch of fire.
Wheneverthe Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him
peace,turned, he saw him. Jibril said to him, 'Shall I teach you some words
to say? When you say them, his torch will be put out and will fall from him.'
The Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,
'Yes, indeed.' Jibril said, 'Say, 'I seek refuge with the Noble Face of Allah
and with the complete words of Allah which neither the good personnor the
corrupt can exceed,from the evil of what descends from the sky and the
evil of what ascends in it, and from the evil of what is created in the earth
and the evil of what comes out of it, and from the trials of the night and day,
and from the visitations of the night and day, exceptfor one that knocks
with good,O Merciful!" "' Muwatta Malik

Narrated AbuSa'id al-Khudri:
When the Messenger of Allah (‫)ﷺ‬ got up to pray at night (for
tahajjud prayer) he uttered the takbir and then said: "Glory be to
Thee, O Allah," and "Praise be to Thee" and "Blessed is Thy
name," and Exalted is Thy greatness." and "There is no god but
Thee." He then said: "There is no god but Allah" three times; he
then said: "Allah is altogether great" three times: "I seek refuge in
Allah, All-Hearing and All-Knowing from the accursed devil, from
his evil suggestion (hamz), from his puffing up (nafkh), and from
his spitting (nafth)" He then recited (the Qur'an).

Narrated AbuHurayrah:
AbuBakr as-Siddiq said: Messengerof Allah! command me something to
say in the morning and in the evening. He said: Say "O Allah, Creator of
the heavens and the earth, Who knowest the unseen and the seen, Lord
and Possessorof everything. I testify that there is no god but Thee; I seek
refuge in Thee from the evil within myself, from the evil of the devil, and his
(incitement to) attributing partners (to Allah)." He said: Say this in the
morning.
