Basic Ramadhaan Du'aas

  1. 1. Basic Ramadhaan Du’aas Du’aa upon sighting the New Moon : Note: This du’aa is for every month and not just at the sight of Ramadhaan’s new moon ‘Allah is the greatest. O Allah, let the crescent loom above us in safety, faith, peace, and Islam, and in agreement with all that You love and pleases You. Our Lord and your Lord is Allah.’ Important Note: Intention (Niyyah) is essential for fasting and there is NO SPECIFIC DU’AA for keeping the fast. The ‘du’aas’ that start with asumu gadin, nawaytu bisawmi….are innovations. Check out details here Du’aa at Iftaar, while Breaking the Fast: Du’aa 1: ‘The thirst has gone and the veins are quenched, and reward is confirmed, if Allaah wills.’
  2. 2. Du’aa 2: ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Amr Ibn Al-‘Aas related that the Messenger of Allah (Sal-lal-laahu-alaihi-wa-sallam) said: ‘Indeed the fasting person has at the time of breaking fast, a supplication which is not rejected’. Ibn Abi Mulaykah said: ‘I heard ‘Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar say when he broke fast: ‘O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy which envelops all things, that You forgive me.’ Du’aa while Breaking the Fast at someone’s house: ‘May the fasting break their fast in your home, and may the dutiful and pious eat your food, and may the angels send prayers upon you.’ What to say when someone fights or insults you: ‘I am fasting, I am fasting.’
  3. 3. Du’aa during the Last Ten Days (especially during Laylatul Qadr): “O Allah! You are Forgiving, You love to forgive, So forgive me”.   SEE NEXT PAGE TO KNOW AND LEARN THE MOST  COMPREHENSIVE DUAA OF OUR LIFE! :)
Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) made many supplications which we did not memorize. We said to him: "O Messenger of Allah! You have made many supplications of which we do not remember anything." He said, "Shall I tell you a comprehensive prayer? Say: O Allah, I beg to You the good which Your Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) begged of You; and I seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) sought refuge. You are the One from Whom help is sought and Yours is the responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or strength except with Allah the Exalted, the Great." Hadith No. 1494, At-Tirmidhi Commentary: For those who do not remember many prayers, or cannot remember them, this is the best supplication to make. This shows part of Allahs Mercy upon his slaves and part of the easiness of practising Islam.
