Personal Reflection
1. Alondra Ramirez
Tell me about yourself.
What are your strengths? I think my strength is reading. I love to read books.
What are your weaknesses? I think my biggest weakness is that I am very shy. I think it holds me back in
life and makes it difficult to do simple things such as speaking in front of people. It also makes me look
asocial, which dampens peopleās first impression of me. As much as I hate that Iām shy I donāt exactly know
how to fix it. Another weakness is math. I hate math.
What are you ambitions for the future? Well firstly Iām planning on going to community college and
becoming a college transfer to a four year college. Then I want attend a veterinary program and hopefully
intern at a zoo to get the chance to work with amazing exotic animals. After getting a degree I will work in a
standard vet office on domestic animals such as dogs, cats, etc. Later I hope to open up my own sort of
āpet mallā, which would include a vet hospital, groomers, pet shop, and an indoor park. I want it to be a
place where humans and their companions can come and enjoy themselves with other animal lovers.
As a student, do you enjoy school? Why or why not? When it comes to school I enjoy all subjects
except for math. Iāve never really been good at it. Having the opportunity to learn is something I appreciate
a lot. Not everyone is as lucky, and I canāt take what I have the chance to learn for granted. School can be
sometimes tedious but itās a necessity and has to be accomplished. Without an education nothing will ever
be amounted.
What are your favorite subjects and why? My favorite subject is history. I love learning about our
nationās history. What happened and how America was different back in time amazes me. Everyone has
such a different way of thinking and doing things. America now isnāt anything like it used to be, but history
shows us that our nation is a great one despite all the flaws and mistakes.
How would you describe your personality? I am a very quiet and shy person. Once getting to know me I
think that changes but as far as a first time meet, I donāt seem like the most talkative person ever.
How would your teachers describe you? Honestly I donāt believe my teachers have ever noticed me. Iāve
never been a teacherās pet nor have I been the class clown, so I have nothing to define me in class. I just
do my work and try my best to not be too talkative. I think I am a bit invisible in the classroom. So, with this
being said I donāt think I could speak on my teacherās behalf on her opinions of me because I am not quite
sure she has noticed me.
What are some of your extracurricular activities? Well I have volunteered in a few places. I used to
volunteer at a rest home and helped to entertain the people with games and conversations. I also used to
volunteer at a therapeutic horse farm.
In your lifetime, what has been your greatest accomplishment? Why? I think my greatest
accomplishment is that I got the chance to take college while I was still in high school. My senior year I will
be taking JCC classes.
What has been your greatest disappointment? My greatest disappointment would have to be the way I
was freshman year. I wish I would have taken school more serious and appreciated all the opportunities I

had. Now I have to work extra hard to accomplish everything I want in life. If I could change it I would take
all of my classes more seriously.
Would you rather be in charge of a project or work as part of the team? Why? I guess it would depend
on how much I knew about the subject the project was on. Per say if the project was on math, I wouldnāt
enjoy being the leader so I would much rather be a part of the team. However, if the subject was something
like history or English, I wouldnāt mind being in charge. I wouldnāt demand the leader position but if it was
bestowed unto me then I would gladly accept it.
What careers are you interested in and why? Iām very interested in becoming a veterinarian. I absolutely
adore animals of all kinds and I would like nothing more than to dedicate my life and work to them. Animals
are so loving and understanding I sometimes think theyāre the only creatures us humans can feel safest
around.
Tell me what you know about this career. Well I donāt know too much but I do have lots of experience
with animals in general. I have also volunteered before at a therapeutic horse farm in Jacksonville, NC.
Are you presently working anywhere? Do you enjoy your work? No, I am not currently working
anywhere. Instead I am trying to put all of my energy and time into my schooling.
Do you have your own transportation? Yes I have my license and my own car.
Can you think of anything I might have forgotten?I canāt think of anything else to talk about.
