My Learning Experience

  1. 1. “ My Learning Experience”. Marie Nan Ramirez Pagan 804- 08- 6435 Prof. Medina
  2. 2. Introduction <ul><li>Couple of months ago writing happened to be my weakest area in English. Because of that I made a learning plan that will help me improve and develop this area. That is why during this presentation I’ll be showing what I did in my laboratory hours, conversational group and my also on my English class. </li></ul>
  3. 3. 1 st Hour My weakest area in English is the writing so I decided to improve that are choosing some websites as a help. I dedicated my first hour to Livemocha.com. To be honest, I consider this one of the best websites to learn English. It helps you step by step and it is dynamic and different.

  5. 5. 2 nd Hour This hour I worked on the area of past and present tenses because I tend to have difficulty use them.

  7. 7. 3 rd Hour In this hour I dedicated time to practice with verbs, vocabulary and past and present tenses. To progress when it comes to writing sentences.
  8. 9. 4 th Hour <ul><li>During my 4 th hour I started to work with the website that provided me the necessary tools to write a paragraph or an essay. </li></ul>

  10. 11. 5 th hour <ul><li>During this hour I search for a website that could explain to me what a topic sentence or what do an essay consists of. And also how I’m I going to use it. </li></ul>

  12. 13. 6 th Hour <ul><li>This website surprise me a little bit because I thought that it will be typical stories about our daily life. But the good thing about this is that this stories helps you develop your listening and memorizing area. </li></ul>

  14. 15. 7 th hour <ul><li>This site provided me some stories that I needed to pay attention because later on they gave me a multiple choice that included vocabulary and themes of the story. </li></ul>

  17. 18. 1 st hour <ul><li>In my first hour of the conversational group we needed to make a life map. This consists about making a full concept map about yourself, is about summarizing your life and writing in a paper the events that you consider important in your life and presenting them to the group. Every member of the group needed to do that, including the instructor. </li></ul>
  18. 19. 2 nd Hour <ul><li>We started to talk about feelings. In a sheet of paper we had some vocabulary with some emotions that we needed to explain what they meant and we were given some examples. </li></ul>
  19. 20. 3 rd hour <ul><li>On my third hour because it was our last one we talk about Thanks giving and Christmas. Everyone spoke and said what they do during that week, what they eat, etc. And the same during Christmas, in my case I spend time with family that is important, we open presents and we go to church. </li></ul>
  20. 21. <ul><li>At first I thought this will be boring and they will teach me just basic words. And it caught me by surprise when the conversational group was about talking about yourself (feelings, emotions and goals). But it happened to be a great experience for me including my lab hours. </li></ul>
