4. Suggestions by Dr. Hilary Jones
For sufferers of functional bowel disorders, Shreddies can offer a
medical solution to the relief of bad wind.
By passing the odors through a filter, the bad gas is then odor free
and allows the wearer freedom from the problems it can cause in
social situations.
Dr. Hilary Jones advises that flatulence is “better out than in” and
states that Shreddies “are brilliantly effective.”
You should wear Shreddies if your flatulence is bad and you can’t
hold it in during social activities.
They are highly effective when on dates, and won’t give you the
embarrasment of the person looking at you weird or covering their
nose because of the smell.
5. Background
Paul O’Leary is the designer and innovator of Shreddies
Underwear. In 1987 Paul graduated from Loughborough
University with an Industrial Design degree and set up
his own design consultancy. Two years later Paul cofounded kitchen design company deVOL which allowed
him to explore many of his design and production ideas.
6. Background (Cont.)
To bring Shreddies to life Paul worked alongside a team
of lingerie designers from De Montfort University’s
leading lingerie design course. A leading designer in the
fashion industry, Darren Cleary, who had previously
worked with Paul Smith also helped to design the
underwear. It was decided that ‘Zorflex’ activated carbon
cloth would be used as the flatulence filter since its use
in chemical warfare suits is renowned. De Montfort
University’s testing reinforced this decision when it was
proven to be perfect for the task.
