Firstly, this extreme close up portrays a scared and vulnerable character who see
to be hiding from something in which promotes ambiguity.
Next, in this medium close up we seem to be shown the space around the person
messy and chaotic with items all over the floor like school supplies to infer wher
has all taken place and to also infer that disaster has struck in some form.
Next, in this further medium close up, we see the character gliding their hands b
towards themselves as to remain balance and stability, inferring they are weak
and are regaining their power.
Then, it’s clear from this medium long shot of a school hallway and from
the kids facial
expression that they feel guilt but are in awe of the damage that had been
done.
We also see confusion and shock on his face which infers he is afraid of
what he has

Also, the teacher who sees him as he walks out of the school seems extremely
afraid of him and tries to stay away but at the same time is calling someone to
help; inferring that everyone is against trying to help him and instead, is
alienating him for being different.
In terms of Mise en Scene in the beginning, the colour scheme for the video at
first included only dull but calm colours such as navy blue (seen in this extreme
close up), and the choice of his clothing which is browns and tan colours seen in
the following shot.
However, as the kid makes his escape, he puts a red hat on to suggest
this is no longer a calm
situation and infers his adrenaline is now rushing to just escape from all
of whom is out to capture him.
It also infers the inner strength he holds inside that’s waiting to
unleash.

Connotations/Representation of Meaning
Titanium portrays our inner strength and becoming strong within
ourselves. The lyrics use many different literary elements to portray the
message of the song such as metaphors, imagery, and symbolism. The
meaning of this song is to be strong even when the world is throwing its
worse at you; hence why the boy is running away from the police who are
threatening to him and what he's capable of, which he himself is unsure
of. However, the message that comes across is that when bad things
happen, we must stand strong and not fall. As the song states, we must
be "Titanium" which means to be strong hearted and strong willed.
Also, the song uses guns and bullets as a metaphor to the hateful words
that people say to us.
In the chorus Sia, the vocal artist of the song, sings about being bullet
proof. This means that we shouldn't worry about what people say about
us.
When we are shot down with bullets, all the bullets ricochet, or bounce
off. In verse two, the song talks about how people can continue to shoot
us down but it's not us who will be hurt more if we stand our ground.
Similarly, in the video after that line is sang, the boy escapes and the
chorus comes in whilst the camera does quick cuts of him on a bike to
suggest he's going really fast and getting away from all those hateful
