2. AGRICULTURE AND AGRICULTURAL WASTE
• Agriculture is the cultivation of land and breeding of animals and plants to provide
foods, fibers, medicinal plants and other products to sustain and enhance life.
Agricultural waste refers to waste produced from agricultural operations, including waste
from farms, poultry houses, and slaughterhouses.
4. IMPORTANCE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT :
• If waste are not properly handled they are pollute surface and groundwater and
contribute to air pollution
• The proper management of waste from agricultural operations can contribute in
significant way to farm operation
• Waste management helps to maintain a healthy environment for farm animals and can
reduce the need for commercial fertilizer while providing other nutrients for crop
production
• The waste which is reduce, recycle and make it usable for different purpose is a waste
management
6. SOURCES OF WASTE
• Bangladesh is a agricultural based country. There are lots of organic and inorganic
waste are produce in agricultural sector. The major quantity of solid waste generated in
agricultural source are..
• Sugarcane baggage, paddy, wheat straw and husk, waste of vegetables, food products,
tea, oil products, jute fibers, groundnut shell, wooden mill waste, coconut husk, cotton
stalk etc.
7. WASTE COLLECTION
• Waste like fruit and vegetable waste are collected from house, called domestic waste.
• Waste collected from road side
• Collected waste like dry refuse and green waste, animal dung from agricultural field.
8. TRANSPORTATION PROCESS:
• Waste are collected from the road side,
agricultural field all are transported to
decompiled side and further treatment by
truck, trailers, carts
• Different types of waste are collected and
then transported for further treatment and
the waste which is not used is directly
disposal to the sanitary land.
• Waste are not burnt in open air, so it is then
transported to incineration.
9. TREATMENT PROCESS
• Various treatment process are performed on agricultural waste this are,
• When dealing with agricultural product then we must follow wealth and safety
regulations.
• We should provide written instructions for storing and disposing of each type waste we
produce.
• We must dispose of waste if we gave determined that we cannot use prevention,
preparation for reuse, recycling or any other recovery method
10. RECYCLING
• Process to change waste into new product
• prevent waste potentially into useful material,
• Reduce the consumption of fresh raw material
• Reduce energy usage
• Reduce air pollution from incineration, water pollution,
11. POSSIBLE MANAGEMENT OF AFRO WASTE,
• From animal dung biogas light, fuel, bio fertilizer
• From agro waste bio fertilizer,
• Old animal slaughtering leather industry, meat
• Molasses and juice alcohol product
• Sugarcane source of green energy fuel
• Bone utilization phosphorus and calcium,
• From Straw and peals pulp and paper
12. IN THE END ,
• The contribution of animal waste increase the organic matter content of soils, which
increase nutrient availability for crop and improves the water holding capacity .good
waste management reduce the intense of well water contamination and minimize the
surface water pollution
