2. What skills you have learnt/ developed
during AS coursework
I have gained and developed many skills during the AS coursework. For
instance:
Filming- this includes learning about specific angles, high/low were used.
Helped greatly to create new perspectives for product, thus creating new
meanings and feelings. edit; something
Editing- started to understand basic use of how to I had never done before.
Helped vastly to create product with my group and to understand the
representations it can create.
Timing- my timing skills had to be developed and improved to meet
deadlines to ensure no marks were lost on timing.
Communication/ organisation- again, these skills had to be developed to
organise when my group would film or edit, or was going to complete a
certain side of the storyboard, for example.
3. What difficulties were faced?
Though timing skills had to be improved, the time each member of the
group was available was difficult. Jobs, or opposite timetables at sixth form
made being able to film, for example, as a group difficult.
Technologies outside sixth form were also a difficulty. In class, we used
Final Cut Pro, however at home, no member of our group had access to it.
Weather made us postpone some days of filming. As a result, we filmed
our product a week later than we wanted and needed to.
4. Where do you feel you were most
successful?
My group were successful with our editing; it added professional effects,
and made an apocalyptic scenario.
Additionally, the title sequence went well with our story of our product.
The filming of our product, with the variety of angles and shots, created
many representations. For instance the protagonist playing guitar.
5. Which areas do you hope to develop
Timing, as it’s not the best in the class.
Editing techniques; need to understand advanced techniques.
Storyboard detail needs improving.
