Interview-
When and why did you start playing?
For as long as I remember to be honest since I could walk
and talk all I wanted to do was sing and play music. It’s
the main thing I really care about really I just want to
focus on my music.
Have you always wanted a career in music or was it a bit
unexpected?
I’ve always enjoyed playing and I wanted a career to
involve music but I had playing in pubs in mind! I never
thought I would get as far as I am today, it was really
unexpected but I’m so happy and grateful I am
Does any of your family think its crazy how quickly
you’ve shot to fame and the extent of it?
Oh God yes! We all say how it just happened so fast none
of us are anywhere near used to it yet
Which instruments do you play? What was the first?
I started playing the guitar when I was four years old but I
never really paid any attention to any other instrument, I’m
only interested in the guitar to be honest.
Is your family musical?
Yeah my Mom and Dad used to play in a rock band when
they were younger, it was huge in the village we live in
people thought they were going to become famous at one
2. point but they needed to get better paid jobs and then they
had me so didn’t really have time for the band.
Would you say that they are your biggest musical
inspiration? Why? Yeah I do if it wasn’t for them I don’t
think I would be so crazy about music as I am now, I grew
up in a family where music was the most important thing in
the world and if I didn’t have them I don’t think I would of
ever got as far as I am today.
Which famous musicians have you learned from?
I would have to say Madonna, I think she is remarkable
how she is always reinventing herself to keep up with
medias new trends, her music will never go out of fashion.
Do you get nervous before a performance?
Yes every time! I don’t know whether it’s because I’m still
new to all of this or maybe I’ll always be nervous but as
soon as get on stage and start playing it’s the best feeling in
the whole world
How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
I just act like it never happened! It’s not like I can go back
and change it so I just carry on but if I made a bad and
really noticeable mistake then I will do more songs at the
end or give away some free shirts to say sorry to my fans.
What advice would you give to beginners who are
nervous?
Honestly I think everyone is nervous at the start even the
biggest stars who have been performing for years, I think
people just need to get out there start and everything will
fall into place, if that doesn’t work then just play the oldest
trick in the book and picture everyone naked.
How often and for how long do you practice?
Everyday as soon as I get the time really, it’s hard to set
times now as I’m all over the place.
