2015 was a great year for you, what was the highlight?
Yeah it was a good year and I’m just thankful to God for it, there
were many good things that happened last year. My highlight in
music my album ‘From da south’ went platinum, that was great
cos it’s like a dream and it’s just mad how far I’ve come from
since like 2 years ago. The main highlight of last year for me
though was my first being born, my daughter, my blessing Mya.
Who are your inspirations in rap and music overall?
My main inspiration is Eminem, I used to listen too him, too
much really, and I think it’s evident in some of my vulgar bars. I
also used to listen to Lil Wayne a lot and loads of other rap-
pers. I used to just listen to all types of rap styles and still do,
Oh yeah, I can’t forget about Skepta and JME they’re inspira-
tions too. Outside of rap I used to listen some reggae, as I’m
Jamaican but not much.
What happened between you and Snoop Dogg, cos obvi-
ously he was taking some shots at you on twitter but you
didn’t reply. Did you see them?
Yeah I obviously someone told me he was taking shots at me
and twitter, so I looked at it and I just didn’t care. Like I never
listened to Snoop Dogg and he’s irrelevant to me. What he
said had no affect on me so I just didn’t feel the need to
reply. I don’t even tweet much anyway; I’m not really
on twitter like that so if anyone decided to go at
me I probably wouldn’t reply. Plus everyone’s
entitled to their opinion and we all have haters
so what can I say to him.. I can’t tell him his
opinion’s wrong can i?
You speak of thanking God and blessings,
how influential is God in your life?
God’s everything for me, there was a time where
I lost fait because I broke and the devil tempted me
into selling drugs, but God showed me the right road, and
that was music. I just wanna get some of my old friends off that
lifestyle but it’s hard man.
What’s your favourite song on the album?
My favourite song has to be ‘All of you’ cos it’s literally just me
pouring my heart out on a song for the women in my life that I
love. It just means so much to me and makes my Mum happy
you know, The song that I had the most fun making was ‘Slim
vs. Tan’ my song with Eminem as it was a song with my idol in
rap music and it was such a chill atmosphere in the studio and it
was a lot of laughs, I think you can tell from the lyrics.
Could you tell us a bit about your life before music?
I can’t really talk too tough cos I’m on probation but I can say
that growing up in South London is hard if you’re not well off.
You’re around so much drugs and gangs that you feel like
obliged to get involved, and I got involved and done time for
things and selling.
You’ve become a fashion icon of the new generation and
we hear you’re going to start releasing some clothes, tell
us about your fashion icons growing up.
Well like I never really had an icon, I liked the style of cats like
Ian Connor, Luka Sabbat, A$AP Rocky people like that. My
friends and me just had our own style compared to the rest of
people in our ends. These clothes I’m dropping are going to be
fire though like people are gonna love it. I got some mad garms
coming out for winter, they’ll be released on my website on the
1st of next months
What does Natan have in store for us in the future?
Well I’m already working on another album cos you
know the clock doesn’t stop, and it doesn’t take
long for someone to become irrelevant so I
gotta keep working. I’m also working on some
garms cos you know I’m interested in that
too, can’t talk too tough on that either right
now. And obviously you know I got more tour
soon.
Yeah finally, tell us about your tour…
Yeah, I’m touring for two months starting in June,
worldwide. The dates for each city are on all my social me-
dia links. I’ll be hitting all the major cities like New York, London,
Paris, Tokyo and more. It’s gonna be lit…
