1. Dan Watt
Magazine Interview
1. When did you first become a DJ?
By the age of eighteen I had started out in a few local clubs having the odd gig once every so
often, I would say that’s where I first started professionally however I had been messing
around at home with music for years from the age of 14 upwards. So depending on how you
look at it I have been doing this for quite a few years now.
2. What did your family do to encourage you?
My parents got me into music at a young age, with it always been on around the house that’s
what peaked my musical interest. They also came to all of my gigs which really gave me a
confidence boost when I was first making a name for myself, I owe them for where I am
today.
3. Who else in your family is musical?
My family may enjoy listening to music but they aren’t that musical themselves anymore, my
dad used to play guitar but that must have been when I was very young as I only have a few
memories of it. My mum also used to be in a band way back when she was in college, she
was the lead singer.
4. Who are your musical inspirations?
He isn’t a DJ but I would definitely see Eminem as inspiration for me become involved with
music, he didn’t give up and look where he is today. His story really gave me that drive to try
and live my dream no matter what anyone else says. In my eyes he is one of the music greats
alive today.
5. What kind of music do you listen to today?
I listen to a lot of new music on the radio, when I’m out in car going about my day. I also like
to listen to old classic songs from quite a few years ago so I have quite a large collection of
CDs and a huge library on iTunes. To name a few favorite artists of mine I would have to
name Frank Sinatra and Bob Marley.
6. What embarrassing songs might I find on your IPhone?
My secret shame would definitely have to any of the busted songs I just feel they are really
catchy or anything by Rihanna she is a very talented artist.
7. Where would you most like to perform?
I have always wanted to take a tour worldwide so if I could pick anywhere in the world I would
have to say either Australia or America. Australia, as I would like to visit the family I have
there and because I think I could do with a tan. The reason I would pick America is because I
believe it would be a lot of fun travelling from state to state preforming for people.
8. Who would you most like to open for?
I would love to open for some of the old school rappers such as 2pac, public enemy, and
Cypress hill. Purely because the crowd and the whole arena would be going wild and it would
be crazy fun.
10. If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?
Properly nothing very interesting, however I would like to work I the film industry and would be
interesting in maybe giving it a go later in my career, we will just have to see what happens
with my music currently.
11. Do you play any instruments?
Yes I can play guitar but I am very far from becoming a master with it, there are a lot of

people out there that could put me to shame easily. However I can play the piano quite well in
my opinion, and I am hoping to maybe implement a few piano notes into my next few tracks in
my new upcoming album.
12. If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
Probably won’t suit me what so ever but I think I would enjoy being a Rockstar, they have so
much energy on stage which gives a really good atmosphere to the fans. They also like to
have loads of fun away from work and believe me that is something I could really get used
too.
13. What genre of music can't you stand to listen to?
Pop, more specifically Miley Cyrus. I think her music is absolutely garbage that can’t be called real
music and is poisoning the minds of our youth, but then again to each his own I guess.
14. What hidden talents do you have?
I can dislocate all my fingers on my left and right hands and the insert them back into place. Probably
the most useless talent in the world I know but it comes in handy when your food gets stuck in the
vending machine believe me I know. I can also paint very well, I took art in high school and I have
loved painting and drawing ever since. That is more of a hobby though I would never paint anything
for financial gain, just mainly as presents to friends and family o special occasions. I would also like to
say my music is my talent, however I wouldn’t want to sound any more big headed.
15. Do you enjoy writing music and/or lyrics?
Yes it’s the most satisfying part, I think I actually prefer writing my music than preforming it as it allows
me to think creatively and gives me much more freedom. I think long, long after I retire I will be 100%
writing music. I would consider writing music an art form.
16. You have a lot of fans out there, would you like to tell them a message?
Yes of course, thank you to everyone that has listened to music I really hope you have enjoyed it.
Knowing my work is appreciated is enough motivation to keep providing more for you all to enjoy, I
hope you all can keep enjoying my music and I hope to you all at a concert soon.
