I Want To Grow Up To High School
When I was younger, I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up. As a matter of fact, I knew that I wanted to go into the medical field all
the way up to high school. Then, to everyone's surprise, my decision began to waver. Suddenly I was so unsure of what career I wanted to jump into.
I was told that it was perfectly normal and that I had all of high school to figure it out. Well here I am, nearing the end of highschool, and I still am just
as clueless as I was after I entered. I thought something was wrong with me because everyone around me seems so sure about what they're going to
college for when high school ends. I felt as though it was absolutely necessary for me to know because I'm the first one in my family to go to college.

Personal Narrative: When I Grow Up In America
What do you want to be when you grow up? When I was four, I wanted to be a princess, like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty; except, without the evil
step–family and the vengeful evil queen hunting me. I wanted the pretty dress; and let's be honest, I wanted the handsome prince. By the time I
was nine, I was convinced I would be country star. I wanted to be the best of the best, and stardom seemed like the way to do it. With Taylor Swift
as my idol there was no way my plan could go awry. Thirteen hit me and I decided I was too grown up for such childish desires, and my plans changed
to becoming a neurosurgeon. Today, if you were to ask me who Iwant to be when I grow up, my reply would be that I have no clue. I can only tell
you three things I want to do; the same three things I have to do. I have to remain hopeful, become the best version of me that I can possibly be, and
most importantly, I have to pursue my dreams. These are my responsibilities to America....show more content...
Hope enables a person to look at the most unfortunate events in life and see things from a new, more positive perspective. Without hope, we would
be very dismal and mundane. Without hope, we look forward to nothing. Hope lets us look into the future and see it as a better place; one in which
bad things can and will be prevented from happening. Whether you have it or not, hope holds many powers over you. It comforts those in need of it,
provides incentive to those who have it, and drives those who utilize it. Having hope will not only have a huge impact on the quality of our individual
lives. Hope will greatly affect the lives of others around us by giving them an illustration of its

When I Grow Up I'M Going to Be
" When I grow up I'm going to be..."
How often you must have said the words above when you were younger! You wanted to be a motion–picture star, an acrobat, a fireman, or a sailor.
Now that you are older you realize that choosing a vocation is not a simple matter. In fact it is one of the most difficult and most important decisions of
your life. Upon it depends your health, happiness, and usefulness.
Soon you will be one of many boys and girls who each year go out in search of jobs. Start preparing for your lifework now while you are at school.
Study purposefully. You will save yourself many future headaches. True, a few find their lifework accidentally, but there are hundreds who never find
their right vocations at all. About 20 per...show more content...
Have you a pile of manuscripts hidden away? Do you give puppet shows for the neighborhood children? Do you like to fuss with flowers and plants?
Out of your hobby may grow your vocation. As a boy Thomas Edison like nothing better than to tinker with the apparatus in his laboratory.
Whatever you choose as your lifework, your chances for success depend in a large measure on your physical and mental well–being. Although your
health is largely what you make it, there are individual differences in strength and endurance, which must be considered in the choice of a vocation.
The work of an actor, aviator, or reporter is physically more arduous than that of a librarian or writer. A physician, whose rest is interrupted by
emergency calls, must have robust health. Select a vocation for which you are physically qualified.
When young people enter a job or university/college, school officials are called upon to write letters of recommendation. What is your attendance
record? Your school record? Do you participate in sports, other activities? Are you trustworthy? Even when there is a labor shortage, employers want to
know these facts about their prospective employees. You are making now the record upon which the school's recommendation will be made.

Essay The Best Way to Grow Up
Growing up
Growing up is something we all have to face regardless of our age, gender, social or cultural status. Growing up is a gradual ladder toward changing
(developing) from a naГЇve child into a mature adult. This change is shaped by the influential people and experiences we have met along the way.
Growing up is not an easy process in most cases, but with proper support and positive guidance growing up can be the most rewarding experience.
Through the journey of growing up we adopt a sense of responsibility and independence. Growing up is the difference between being told what to do
and what decisions to make to making your own decisions and choosing the path you think is right. Becoming independent is one of the most

A couple years later my mom starting dating a man who is now my stepdad. He never had kids of his own making it harder for him to communicate
and understand a young person like myself. I would always try to act older when I was with him, maybe I could tell he had difficulty interacting
with young kids. As a kid I would only talk to my mom it was to the point where I would tell my mom things to say to other people for me, my
stepdad being in the picture taught me how to interact with someone besides my mom. He played a huge role in shaping me into a young adult.
Fast forward a couple years to 2013, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was not and still is not an easy thing to have to deal with. This
lady who was always this strong person who wouldn't take crap from anyone has now been beaten down too sick to get out of bed. Our roles have
switched now I take care of her, I lie with her for countless hours making sure she is okay just as she did when I was a kid. My mom comes to me for
security and reassurance now, I have to be there for her and stay strong. I had to learn to talk to her without crying every time I looked at her. When
you were a child your parent crying was one of the scariest things so I have had to do the same for her. This has ultimately pushed me to young adult
hood. I had to deal with this huge emotional disaster and the woman who I usually run to for advice was the center of the

When I Grow Up..
"Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up."
–AmberGrace Seguin
Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do 'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood
thinking of what we would do when we finally 'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of what it
is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it
finally comes for the picture to be taken off the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting.

"The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives
himself, he becomes wise." –Alden Nowlan As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once convinced
ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we
think back at our youth and laugh because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than ever, we crave
for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was
simple and we could imagine it any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it.
"A grownup is a child with layers on." –Woody

Why Who And Where When You Grow Up? Essay
The Why and What of Who and Where Since pre–school dress up and kindergarten work–sheets, the question of "what do you want to be when you
grow up?" has been present. With time the question has transformed along with the child. It tangles itself into conversations with parents and peers,
all the way into college when the question becomes: "So what do you want to do with your degree?" The steadfast inquiry clings close, whether it be
a pleasant companion or worrisome pest, until its final transition from question to answer. No longer is it what will you be, but who you have become.
No longer is it what you will do, but what now can accomplish in your calling turned career. Why I Am Who I Am Young, naГ
Їve, and barely old
enough to handle such a concept, I was hopeful the first time I heard one particularly fascinating bible–story: the daring reveal that the villain of the
story, none other than Satan himself, was once an angel. At first it seemed like a pleasant surprise, an inspiring possibility that perhaps the devil
would repent and rejoin the good side, so all could be well in the world again. Time, and a kind rebuttal from my Sunday–school teacher, doused such
fanciful notions, but the story has never left me. Year after year the notion of Satan's origins wander through my brain, leaving me with two very
distinct thoughts. First, if there was purity in the devil, surely there was some good in everyone; and secondly, if an angel could create so much
darkness,

What I Want to Be When I Grow Up
Abstract My career choices have changed through the years from mother and housewife through architect, accountant, or teacher, finally I have
arrived at a computer career. The following is an idea of the path I have followed. What I want to be When I Grow Up Coming to the point of my
current career choice has been a long road. My idea of what a career is or should be has changed with circumstances and age. According to Weintraub
(2005), "the average worker spends only four years in a job and will have 12 jobs in as many as five career fields during his or her working life." (para.

I took a long break after moving into my mother's house and dropping out of Blackhawk Tech. I did not know what I wanted to do and feared

was a job so I finished the six month training program in four months and was offered a job at Memorial Community Hospital. I had never seen
myself in the healthcare field but here I was. After less than a year in the medical records department transcription was downsized and I was no
longer needed. I was fortunate to have a supervisor that saw potential in me and I was offered the opportunity to help develop a new position in the
department. Over the next six months I worked closely with supervision developing the assistant medical records clerk position at the hospital. I
enjoyed the development of the position but soon became bored with the job. An opening became available in the admissions office so I applied and
moved to a new job and department at the hospital. Once I had learned the job I soon became bored with yet another position and was looking for a
new opportunity. At this point I still did not consider healthcare a career choice; it was just a job to pay the bills. In August of 2002, the medical

What I Want In Life Essay
One of the things I want in life is to be successful. Three reasons why are, first I can help and provide my family and give them what they need.
Secondly, is I can have a better life, I can get what I want and need. The last reason is so that in the future I can have a nice big house and give my
kids or family and nice good shelter. I'm gonna try being successful from now and on.
In addition I'm gonna talk about my strengths. First, I like to be at school because i get to learn new things everyday. Second, I like helping so when
I'm thinking about careers I think twice about becoming a doctor or a vet. I also like photography, this can help me because maybe i can become a
professional photographer but I have to think about what i want in my life, because i'm also very interested in astronomy. Another thing that i like is
singing. I love to sing its my passion but I really don't think it's gonna go anywhere but maybe it can help me when i'm with family or friends. Because
another thing you need in life is be happy and have fun. One other thing that i like is science. I'm not the best at volleyball or soccer but i'm not that
bad either. I really like to play those two but maybe if i tried something new i would like it. This can help me because i can play sports and it can get
me a scholarship.
Next my goals for during high school, I'm going to pay attention in class so that i get good grades and imma try to turn in my work complete and well,
by working hard. I'm also gonna

more years getting my doctorate degree (class of 2034 here I come)it will be worth it. It seems like a long time, but it will be here before you know
it and yeah I know it might be a little difficult, but if you put your mind to it,you can accomplish anything. A lot of people say it's a lot harder to
get into vet school than it is to get into medical school, but like I said, "You can accomplish anything as long as you try hard and never ever give up
and don't let anybody tell you otherwise." Just like Alexander Graham Bell,Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers, they could have given up but
they didn't, even when times got rough and neither am I! People don't know if vets are going to be around much in the future because we "will" have

Essay One – Revised
"What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?"
We are usually asked this question very early in life: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's one of the biggest questions asked of
children, from toddlers to teenagers. It's always asked to help encourage kids to think of their future. After all, how many children really know what
they want to do with the rest of their lives? Oh yeah, there are those lucky few who have a special calling. Many kids will say they want to be a
police officer, firefighter, nurse, teacher, and many other professions. Some know exactly what they want to be from the start and go for it. But how

But after a year and half, I felt it was time for me to move on and find a job. After I left Indiana Bible College, I did the whole random job thing. I was
a nanny, worked in a shoe store, a grocery store, and finally a hotel. When I started working in the hotel industry, I found that I absolutely loved it! I
loved going to work knowing each day was going to be different. I met people from all walks of life; from the business man to the trucker and even
to the traveling family who were just seeing what the road had in store for them before them. Through their eyes, I saw adventure, hopes, and dreams,
and even the rare humorous occasion where I found myself shaking my head and saying, "What in the world?!?" During my time working at the Days
Inn & Suites, my manager encouraged me to go back to school and consider majoring in hotel management. So, that's what I did. I went back to school
and decided to go for Business Administration. During that time, I was going to do Hotel Management but then I realized that it would limit me to one
occupation of hotels or resorts. Then I started thinking, why not go for Human Resources? I could literally get a job in any business with a HR
Department. I thought to myself, "Yeah!! Way to use your brain Jen!!" However, the story doesn't end happily there. I was working full

to school part time. I had no time to study, so I decided I wouldn't go back to college in the fall. My

"Growing Up"
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" I recall hearing that question numerous times as an adolescent. When questioned. My response would
consist of aspirations of becoming a teacher, a pediatrician, or whatever came to mind at the time; so I can get them off my back. As my adolescent
years came to an end and I became a young adult, it was time to ask myself that same question. It was then I realized I no longer had a desire to be a
teacher, or pediatrician. Meanwhile the majority of my friends were off at college deciding what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives. I on the
other hand, decided to get married at the young age of 19 and start a family at 20. I knew I wanted to be a mother someday and felt I was ready,

I want to be a manager when I grow up Essay
I believe you learn about leadership by acting as an example. You should be prepared to do the things you are asking others to do by getting on your
hands and knees, if need be, and get your hands dirty. This engraves a picture into the mind of an employee or subordinate to what type of a manager
you are. In this paper, I will cover the role a manager plays in an organization describing four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading,
and controlling. I will then describe three traits: conceptual, human, and technical, which an individual must possess to become a successful manager
within an organization and how they fit in with the four functions.
There are usually three management levels within an organization:...show more content...
The success or failure of an organization falls back on the top manager (Jones & George, 2011).
To motivate employees to work towards reaching organizational goals, managers frequently depend on some form of enticement. Beyond monetary
compensation, awards and additional types of acknowledgment can be given, and the ability to choose a work schedule is a possibility. A
reasonable pay system, which would be an incentive for individuals and groups to achieve organizational goals, is a hardship manager's face (Jones
& George, 2011). Within the company that I work for, every quarter awards are presented to Customer Service Agents who have maintained a 95
percent or above quality score. Monetary awards are given out as well as time off coupons.
Making decisions is a manager's job and at times difficult choices have to be made with little or no information available. One of the most difficult
skills of management is knowing how to hand over assignments to employees. The manager meticulous considers which employee should be allowed
to work on the project. The employee needs to know they will have the freedom to make a decision and can expect feedback (DeVita, 2010).
An effective manager should focus on the overall objective and prepare for the future. They also need to consider any minor issues that arise because
the little things could help the overall objective. An effective manager cannot sit back and manage employees from an office.

Personal Narrative: How A Mom Changed My Life
When I was younger, I would often say "I will not be like that when I grow up!" or "When I'm a mom, I will not do that to my kids!" Much of my
childhood was spent competing with others for my parent's attention. They were divorced when I was three years old and constantly in relationships
with others, which always took priority over time with me. My sister got pregnant at the age of 15 because she wanted to and that was something
that I wanted either. She also battled an addiction to drugs throughout her life that I knew was not for me. With all the bad examples growing up,
there were also some good things that I knew I wanted to be a part of me as an adult. My mother was not a quitter, even when faced with terminal
cancer and little chance to beat it with chemotherapy, she still fought and lived a year longer than they had predicted. My mom also had a big
heart and loved with all that she had, all of the time, and this was something that I wanted to be as well. When she did not have a boyfriend, she
was the most involved and loving mom that a child could ask for; this was the mom I wanted to be. While the good and the bad of my childhood

Growing Up Essays
What does it mean to grow up? Does it mean washing your car, paying your bills, getting a job? Does it mean getting married, having kids, and
sprouting gray hair? Is it necessary? Is everyone capable of it? Is it going to be hard and will it be worth the effort? All of these questions are
probably what made Peter Pan decide to never leave Neverland. Growing up means a lot of different things to many different people. If we look at
the words "growing up", we simply think of the physical aspect of ageing, growing tall and wide. But for most people, growing up means something
deeper involving a change in the approach that an individual has to life and the actions that are taken with it. In this essay, we will look at why people

They can't just be told. Mistakes are made and we are held accountable. Such mistakes could include simple things when we are young like hitting
your younger sibling, or they could be as adults like not paying your bills. Sometimes, we have to make the mistake in order to be able to correct
it. We look at the mistake we made, for example, cheating on a test. We are pleased with the score. However, we see that we did not receive the
grade that was deserved. The other students all put in long hours of studying and in turn earned their good grades. When something like this
happens an immature person would not think much of it and move on, but a person who has grown spiritually into a person with morals will not
feel comfortable with this result, and probably not do it again. That is one form of growing up. It is important to feel responsibility for the actions
that have been taken. The next step is reacting in a productive way to that responsibility. In order to assume responsibility, we have to have a sense
of right and wrong which is only naturally learned by living life. When responsibility is accepted, we have begun to see the truth and reality of our
situation, as Peck describes. Dedication to truth is heavily involved with the concept of accepting responsibility because for people to see blame in
themselves, they have to have a clear plane of reality that shows the necessity of a solution from them. The eyes have to be

Choosing A Career : A Career In Career
I've grown up to realize the question "what do you want to be when you grow up" is more than just saying a career in fact, "what do you want to do
when you grow up" would be a better question for the answer that's expected. What you want to be and what you want to do is two different
questions "be" is more on the emotional side and "do" has to do with your career. So what I want to be when I grow up is caring, have lots of
happiness, and knowledge and what I want to do is become a physical therapist for sports teams such as the Lakers or even the Cowboys. Choosing
a career that makes you happy is very important without happiness in what you do it not only makes your job hard it makes life hard. My
character, core values, and goals reflect on me wanting to be a physical therapist because I feel like it help me not only be successful in my job but
it would be something that motivates me to get out of bed everyday. Character has to do a lot with your career because it reflects who you are as a
person. One of my characteristics is caring. What I want to be goes great with this trait because as physical therapist you have to be really caring.
Helping your patient heal and overcome whatever injury they are facing. You also have to pay attention to their feelings like how bad the pain is
and what makes them comfortable in order to have a satisfied client. Being very nurturing can also build a strong bond with that person. Bob Ross

What I Would Be When You Grow Up
"What do you want to be when you grow up," is a question that I have been occasionally asked throughout my life. In elementary school, I, an avid
bookworm and grammar enthusiast at the time, answered, "an editor." In middle school, my answer changed to, "a physicist," because my very first
public presentation was about a physics project. In high school, the question asked has evolved from what I want to be, to what I will be. Never in
my life would I have dreamed of saying, "A teenage parent." For my parents, however, that was the only assertive answer they had in their life, because
my mother got pregnant in high school. The freedom to choose what you want to be has, in most cases, subconsciously been taken for granted. For
most high school students, college is the highest expectation. Other factors, such as establishing professions, raising children, and owning property,
gradually come either during or after a college education. At seventeen, my mother and father worked two jobs, attended high school classes, and raised
me, their first–born child. As teen parents, they were not financially stable, well–supported, or particularly content with their opportunities, but they
made the best of the unexpected. My mother never expected to give birth to a child, much more a prematurely born one, when she envisioned the way
her life in high school would be. Having me 25 weeks in of the full–term 40 weeks of pregnancy drastically altered hopes of a healthy and 'normal' life.
Birth,

I Want To Grow Up To High School

  • 1. I Want To Grow Up To High School When I was younger, I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up. As a matter of fact, I knew that I wanted to go into the medical field all the way up to high school. Then, to everyone's surprise, my decision began to waver. Suddenly I was so unsure of what career I wanted to jump into. I was told that it was perfectly normal and that I had all of high school to figure it out. Well here I am, nearing the end of highschool, and I still am just as clueless as I was after I entered. I thought something was wrong with me because everyone around me seems so sure about what they're going to college for when high school ends. I felt as though it was absolutely necessary for me to know because I'm the first one in my family to go to college. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Personal Narrative: When I Grow Up In America What do you want to be when you grow up? When I was four, I wanted to be a princess, like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty; except, without the evil step–family and the vengeful evil queen hunting me. I wanted the pretty dress; and let's be honest, I wanted the handsome prince. By the time I was nine, I was convinced I would be country star. I wanted to be the best of the best, and stardom seemed like the way to do it. With Taylor Swift as my idol there was no way my plan could go awry. Thirteen hit me and I decided I was too grown up for such childish desires, and my plans changed to becoming a neurosurgeon. Today, if you were to ask me who Iwant to be when I grow up, my reply would be that I have no clue. I can only tell you three things I want to do; the same three things I have to do. I have to remain hopeful, become the best version of me that I can possibly be, and most importantly, I have to pursue my dreams. These are my responsibilities to America....show more content... Hope enables a person to look at the most unfortunate events in life and see things from a new, more positive perspective. Without hope, we would be very dismal and mundane. Without hope, we look forward to nothing. Hope lets us look into the future and see it as a better place; one in which bad things can and will be prevented from happening. Whether you have it or not, hope holds many powers over you. It comforts those in need of it, provides incentive to those who have it, and drives those who utilize it. Having hope will not only have a huge impact on the quality of our individual lives. Hope will greatly affect the lives of others around us by giving them an illustration of its Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. When I Grow Up I'M Going to Be " When I grow up I'm going to be..." How often you must have said the words above when you were younger! You wanted to be a motion–picture star, an acrobat, a fireman, or a sailor. Now that you are older you realize that choosing a vocation is not a simple matter. In fact it is one of the most difficult and most important decisions of your life. Upon it depends your health, happiness, and usefulness. Soon you will be one of many boys and girls who each year go out in search of jobs. Start preparing for your lifework now while you are at school. Study purposefully. You will save yourself many future headaches. True, a few find their lifework accidentally, but there are hundreds who never find their right vocations at all. Although your health is largely what you make it, there are individual differences in strength and endurance, which must be considered in the choice of a vocation. The work of an actor, aviator, or reporter is physically more arduous than that of a librarian or writer. A physician, whose rest is interrupted by emergency calls, must have robust health. Select a vocation for which you are physically qualified. When young people enter a job or university/college, school officials are called upon to write letters of recommendation. What is your attendance record? Your school record? Do you participate in sports, other activities? Are you trustworthy? Even when there is a labor shortage, employers want to know these facts about their prospective employees. You are making now the record upon which the school's recommendation will be made. You are interested in a certain broad field of work it may be scientific, mechanical, or commercial. Or it may be artistic work, work with nature, or with people. • 5. Essay The Best Way to Grow Up Growing up Growing up is something we all have to face regardless of our age, gender, social or cultural status. Growing up is a gradual ladder toward changing (developing) from a naГЇve child into a mature adult. This change is shaped by the influential people and experiences we have met along the way. Growing up is not an easy process in most cases, but with proper support and positive guidance growing up can be the most rewarding experience. Through the journey of growing up we adopt a sense of responsibility and independence. Growing up is the difference between being told what to do and what decisions to make to making your own decisions and choosing the path you think is right. Becoming independent is one of the most frightening...show more content... A couple years later my mom starting dating a man who is now my stepdad. He never had kids of his own making it harder for him to communicate and understand a young person like myself. I would always try to act older when I was with him, maybe I could tell he had difficulty interacting with young kids. As a kid I would only talk to my mom it was to the point where I would tell my mom things to say to other people for me, my stepdad being in the picture taught me how to interact with someone besides my mom. He played a huge role in shaping me into a young adult. Fast forward a couple years to 2013, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This was not and still is not an easy thing to have to deal with. This lady who was always this strong person who wouldn't take crap from anyone has now been beaten down too sick to get out of bed. Our roles have switched now I take care of her, I lie with her for countless hours making sure she is okay just as she did when I was a kid. My mom comes to me for security and reassurance now, I have to be there for her and stay strong. I had to learn to talk to her without crying every time I looked at her. When you were a child your parent crying was one of the scariest things so I have had to do the same for her. This has ultimately pushed me to young adult hood. I had to deal with this huge emotional disaster and the woman who I usually run to for advice was the center of the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay Growing Up When I Grow Up.. "Being 'grown up' isn't as fun as the idea of growing up." –AmberGrace Seguin Remember when we were young and all we could think of was growing up and getting to do 'grownup' things? We spent our whole childhood thinking of what we would do when we finally 'grew up', and here we are, almost completely grown up and we still haven't made up our mind of what it is we will do when we grow up. We've painted this pretty little picture in our head of what it'll be like when we eventually do grow up, and when it finally comes for the picture to be taken off the wall and put into action, it's not nearly as fun as creating the painting. "Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional." –Anonymous We all have the choice...show more content... "The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult; the day he forgives himself, he becomes wise." –Alden Nowlan As we continue to grow up, we learn that being grown up is not as we imagined it. We once convinced ourselves that growing up was the goal to achieve, and life would be much better once we were in fact grown up. When we in fact do grow up, we think back at our youth and laugh because we thought growing up was the most wondrous thing to accomplish, but now, more than ever, we crave for our youth; for the days we would sit in the grass and daydream of what we are to become when we grow up; and finally for the days when life was simple and we could imagine it any which way we wanted it and no one could do a thing about it. • 7. Why Who And Where When You Grow Up? Essay The Why and What of Who and Where Since pre–school dress up and kindergarten work–sheets, the question of "what do you want to be when you grow up?" has been present. With time the question has transformed along with the child. It tangles itself into conversations with parents and peers, all the way into college when the question becomes: "So what do you want to do with your degree?" The steadfast inquiry clings close, whether it be a pleasant companion or worrisome pest, until its final transition from question to answer. No longer is it what will you be, but who you have become. No longer is it what you will do, but what now can accomplish in your calling turned career. Why I Am Who I Am Young, naГ Їve, and barely old enough to handle such a concept, I was hopeful the first time I heard one particularly fascinating bible–story: the daring reveal that the villain of the story, none other than Satan himself, was once an angel. At first it seemed like a pleasant surprise, an inspiring possibility that perhaps the devil would repent and rejoin the good side, so all could be well in the world again. Time, and a kind rebuttal from my Sunday–school teacher, doused such fanciful notions, but the story has never left me. Year after year the notion of Satan's origins wander through my brain, leaving me with two very distinct thoughts. First, if there was purity in the devil, surely there was some good in everyone; and secondly, if an angel could create so much darkness, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. What I Want to Be When I Grow Up Abstract My career choices have changed through the years from mother and housewife through architect, accountant, or teacher, finally I have arrived at a computer career. The following is an idea of the path I have followed. What I want to be When I Grow Up Coming to the point of my current career choice has been a long road. My idea of what a career is or should be has changed with circumstances and age. According to Weintraub (2005), "the average worker spends only four years in a job and will have 12 jobs in as many as five career fields during his or her working life." (para. 1) My first career was marriage and motherhood followed by a surprising healthcare career. What the future holds waits to be seen. With a bachelor of ...show more content... I took a long break after moving into my mother's house and dropping out of Blackhawk Tech. I did not know what I wanted to do and feared failing yet again. One day the opportunity to be trained in transcription fell into my lap. I did not consider this a career choice at the time but it was a job so I finished the six month training program in four months and was offered a job at Memorial Community Hospital. I had never seen myself in the healthcare field but here I was. After less than a year in the medical records department transcription was downsized and I was no longer needed. I was fortunate to have a supervisor that saw potential in me and I was offered the opportunity to help develop a new position in the department. Over the next six months I worked closely with supervision developing the assistant medical records clerk position at the hospital. I enjoyed the development of the position but soon became bored with the job. An opening became available in the admissions office so I applied and moved to a new job and department at the hospital. Once I had learned the job I soon became bored with yet another position and was looking for a new opportunity. At this point I still did not consider healthcare a career choice; it was just a job to pay the bills. In August of 2002, the medical records department, now called health information management, found Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. What I Want In Life Essay One of the things I want in life is to be successful. Three reasons why are, first I can help and provide my family and give them what they need. Secondly, is I can have a better life, I can get what I want and need. The last reason is so that in the future I can have a nice big house and give my kids or family and nice good shelter. I'm gonna try being successful from now and on. In addition I'm gonna talk about my strengths. First, I like to be at school because i get to learn new things everyday. Second, I like helping so when I'm thinking about careers I think twice about becoming a doctor or a vet. I also like photography, this can help me because maybe i can become a professional photographer but I have to think about what i want in my life, because i'm also very interested in astronomy. Another thing that i like is singing. I love to sing its my passion but I really don't think it's gonna go anywhere but maybe it can help me when i'm with family or friends. Because another thing you need in life is be happy and have fun. One other thing that i like is science. I'm not the best at volleyball or soccer but i'm not that bad either. I really like to play those two but maybe if i tried something new i would like it. This can help me because i can play sports and it can get me a scholarship. • 10. What I Want to be When I Grow Up.... What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a vet when I get older. I will go to the University of California because they have the best vet school. I will get paid between $50,480 and $141,680 per year. Although I will be in college ten or more years getting my doctorate degree (class of 2034 here I come)it will be worth it. It seems like a long time, but it will be here before you know it and yeah I know it might be a little difficult, but if you put your mind to it,you can accomplish anything. A lot of people say it's a lot harder to get into vet school than it is to get into medical school, but like I said, "You can accomplish anything as long as you try hard and never ever give up and don't let anybody tell you otherwise." Just like Alexander Graham Bell,Thomas Edison, and the Wright Brothers, they could have given up but they didn't, even when times got rough and neither am I! People don't know if vets are going to be around much in the future because we "will" have machines that will do it for us and more cures for sicknesses but I say otherwise. • 11. “What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Up?в Ђќ Essay Jennifer Smith English 111 February 16, 2011 Essay One – Revised "What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?" We are usually asked this question very early in life: "What do you want to be when you grow up?" It's one of the biggest questions asked of children, from toddlers to teenagers. It's always asked to help encourage kids to think of their future. After all, how many children really know what they want to do with the rest of their lives? Oh yeah, there are those lucky few who have a special calling. Many kids will say they want to be a police officer, firefighter, nurse, teacher, and many other professions. Some know exactly what they want to be from the start and go for it. But how many of us as adults, when faced with the...show more content... But after a year and half, I felt it was time for me to move on and find a job. After I left Indiana Bible College, I did the whole random job thing. I was a nanny, worked in a shoe store, a grocery store, and finally a hotel. When I started working in the hotel industry, I found that I absolutely loved it! I loved going to work knowing each day was going to be different. I met people from all walks of life; from the business man to the trucker and even to the traveling family who were just seeing what the road had in store for them before them. Through their eyes, I saw adventure, hopes, and dreams, and even the rare humorous occasion where I found myself shaking my head and saying, "What in the world?!?" During my time working at the Days Inn & Suites, my manager encouraged me to go back to school and consider majoring in hotel management. So, that's what I did. I went back to school and decided to go for Business Administration. During that time, I was going to do Hotel Management but then I realized that it would limit me to one occupation of hotels or resorts. Then I started thinking, why not go for Human Resources? I could literally get a job in any business with a HR Department. I thought to myself, "Yeah!! Way to use your brain Jen!!" However, the story doesn't end happily there. I was working full –time and going to school part time. I had no time to study, so I decided I wouldn't go back to college in the fall. My Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Growing Up Research Paper "Growing Up" "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I recall hearing that question numerous times as an adolescent. When questioned. My response would consist of aspirations of becoming a teacher, a pediatrician, or whatever came to mind at the time; so I can get them off my back. As my adolescent years came to an end and I became a young adult, it was time to ask myself that same question. It was then I realized I no longer had a desire to be a teacher, or pediatrician. Meanwhile the majority of my friends were off at college deciding what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives. I on the other hand, decided to get married at the young age of 19 and start a family at 20. I knew I wanted to be a mother someday and felt I was ready, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. I want to be a manager when I grow up Essay I believe you learn about leadership by acting as an example. You should be prepared to do the things you are asking others to do by getting on your hands and knees, if need be, and get your hands dirty. This engraves a picture into the mind of an employee or subordinate to what type of a manager you are. In this paper, I will cover the role a manager plays in an organization describing four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. I will then describe three traits: conceptual, human, and technical, which an individual must possess to become a successful manager within an organization and how they fit in with the four functions. There are usually three management levels within an organization:...show more content... The success or failure of an organization falls back on the top manager (Jones & George, 2011). To motivate employees to work towards reaching organizational goals, managers frequently depend on some form of enticement. Beyond monetary compensation, awards and additional types of acknowledgment can be given, and the ability to choose a work schedule is a possibility. A reasonable pay system, which would be an incentive for individuals and groups to achieve organizational goals, is a hardship manager's face (Jones & George, 2011). Within the company that I work for, every quarter awards are presented to Customer Service Agents who have maintained a 95 percent or above quality score. Monetary awards are given out as well as time off coupons. Making decisions is a manager's job and at times difficult choices have to be made with little or no information available. One of the most difficult skills of management is knowing how to hand over assignments to employees. The manager meticulous considers which employee should be allowed to work on the project. The employee needs to know they will have the freedom to make a decision and can expect feedback (DeVita, 2010). An effective manager should focus on the overall objective and prepare for the future. They also need to consider any minor issues that arise because the little things could help the overall objective. An effective manager cannot sit back and manage employees from an office. • 14. Personal Narrative: How A Mom Changed My Life When I was younger, I would often say "I will not be like that when I grow up!" or "When I'm a mom, I will not do that to my kids!" Much of my childhood was spent competing with others for my parent's attention. They were divorced when I was three years old and constantly in relationships with others, which always took priority over time with me. My sister got pregnant at the age of 15 because she wanted to and that was something that I wanted either. She also battled an addiction to drugs throughout her life that I knew was not for me. With all the bad examples growing up, there were also some good things that I knew I wanted to be a part of me as an adult. My mother was not a quitter, even when faced with terminal cancer and little chance to beat it with chemotherapy, she still fought and lived a year longer than they had predicted. My mom also had a big heart and loved with all that she had, all of the time, and this was something that I wanted to be as well. When she did not have a boyfriend, she was the most involved and loving mom that a child could ask for; this was the mom I wanted to be. While the good and the bad of my childhood helped to develop the person I am today, I also had different career goals when I...show more content... Well, I was in college for one semester before I had to leave due to my mom becoming ill and then everything changed. • 16. Growing Up Essays What does it mean to grow up? Does it mean washing your car, paying your bills, getting a job? Does it mean getting married, having kids, and sprouting gray hair? Is it necessary? Is everyone capable of it? Is it going to be hard and will it be worth the effort? All of these questions are probably what made Peter Pan decide to never leave Neverland. Growing up means a lot of different things to many different people. If we look at the words "growing up", we simply think of the physical aspect of ageing, growing tall and wide. But for most people, growing up means something deeper involving a change in the approach that an individual has to life and the actions that are taken with it. In this essay, we will look at why people have...show more content... They can't just be told. Mistakes are made and we are held accountable. Such mistakes could include simple things when we are young like hitting your younger sibling, or they could be as adults like not paying your bills. Sometimes, we have to make the mistake in order to be able to correct it. We look at the mistake we made, for example, cheating on a test. We are pleased with the score. However, we see that we did not receive the grade that was deserved. The other students all put in long hours of studying and in turn earned their good grades. When something like this happens an immature person would not think much of it and move on, but a person who has grown spiritually into a person with morals will not feel comfortable with this result, and probably not do it again. That is one form of growing up. It is important to feel responsibility for the actions that have been taken. The next step is reacting in a productive way to that responsibility. In order to assume responsibility, we have to have a sense of right and wrong which is only naturally learned by living life. When responsibility is accepted, we have begun to see the truth and reality of our situation, as Peck describes. Dedication to truth is heavily involved with the concept of accepting responsibility because for people to see blame in themselves, they have to have a clear plane of reality that shows the necessity of a solution from them. The art classes at previous schools didn't do too well with creativity either. There is also probably countless others, but I never open my self up to new tastes, so I usually stick to the same couple of foods. I just about never bring a homemade lunch to school because it takes too much time to make in my opinion because I like to be able to wake up as late as possible, and making your own lunch takes sets the time to wake up to something earlier, unless I rush around the whole morning. • 18. Choosing A Career : A Career In Career I've grown up to realize the question "what do you want to be when you grow up" is more than just saying a career in fact, "what do you want to do when you grow up" would be a better question for the answer that's expected. What you want to be and what you want to do is two different questions "be" is more on the emotional side and "do" has to do with your career. So what I want to be when I grow up is caring, have lots of happiness, and knowledge and what I want to do is become a physical therapist for sports teams such as the Lakers or even the Cowboys. Choosing a career that makes you happy is very important without happiness in what you do it not only makes your job hard it makes life hard. My character, core values, and goals reflect on me wanting to be a physical therapist because I feel like it help me not only be successful in my job but it would be something that motivates me to get out of bed everyday. Character has to do a lot with your career because it reflects who you are as a person. One of my characteristics is caring. What I want to be goes great with this trait because as physical therapist you have to be really caring. Helping your patient heal and overcome whatever injury they are facing. You also have to pay attention to their feelings like how bad the pain is and what makes them comfortable in order to have a satisfied client. Being very nurturing can also build a strong bond with that person. Bob Ross once said "You do your best work if you do a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. What I Would Be When You Grow Up "What do you want to be when you grow up," is a question that I have been occasionally asked throughout my life. In elementary school, I, an avid bookworm and grammar enthusiast at the time, answered, "an editor." In middle school, my answer changed to, "a physicist," because my very first public presentation was about a physics project. In high school, the question asked has evolved from what I want to be, to what I will be. Never in my life would I have dreamed of saying, "A teenage parent." For my parents, however, that was the only assertive answer they had in their life, because my mother got pregnant in high school. The freedom to choose what you want to be has, in most cases, subconsciously been taken for granted. For most high school students, college is the highest expectation. Other factors, such as establishing professions, raising children, and owning property, gradually come either during or after a college education. At seventeen, my mother and father worked two jobs, attended high school classes, and raised me, their first–born child. As teen parents, they were not financially stable, well–supported, or particularly content with their opportunities, but they made the best of the unexpected. My mother never expected to give birth to a child, much more a prematurely born one, when she envisioned the way her life in high school would be. Having me 25 weeks in of the full–term 40 weeks of pregnancy drastically altered hopes of a healthy and 'normal' life. Birth, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
