PERSONAL PROFILE/ SUMMARY
A hands on Cost Engineer and Project Controls professional with extensive multi-disciplinary skills and knowledge
driven by passion, dedication and commitment to add value and grow further. My experience cuts across cost engineering
functions of estimation, cost control, cost tracking and forecasting, contract management and administration and
benchmarking. A self-driven person, I take initiative to gain new knowledge and improve own capacity in order to
contribute to team efforts.

Course focused on well engineering equipments, well construction and the well delivery process enhancing the

Course focused on thematic areas of estimation, estimates validation, data gathering and benchmarking, cost

A three day course with a detailed exposure to the hydrocarbons cycle, hydrocarbons economics and the oil

2. WORK EXPERIENCE
March 2012 to date Drilling Cost Engineer, Tullow Kenya B.V. Nairobi, Kenya
Working in a 4-rig onshore environment in the various office locations my duties include;
Leading the estimation role within the Well delivery team to produce estimates for project screening,
Long lead items and other front end procurement and seeking approval for expenditure from
Management and Joint Venture Partners.
Working out business plan budgets, presenting and discussing with management and Joint Venture
Partners and seeking amendments and supplements detailing reasons for variances.
Setting up cost trackers for the purposes of daily, weekly and monthly reporting of value of work done
(VoWD), variance analysis, management of change and establishing benchmarking database.
Providing cost and performance analysis and reporting to the well delivery management cost and root
causes of non productive time, invisible lost time among other unplanned events in the life of a drilling
programme.
Coordinate the preparation and issue for approval amendments to the Approval for Expenditures
(AFEs) on programmes that have overran the allowance of Joint Venture threshold.
As Cost Controller, verify invoices and requisition ensuring correct contract rates are used by vendors
and costs are allocated to the correct programmes.
Working with the contracts and procurement team to ensure purchase orders, work orders and work
instructions are issued for the correct amounts and amended/ closed depending on the progress of the
various programmes.
Working as systems super-user within the well engineering team to train new users and guide the
systems users on the correct use of the various tools of the systems
Tracking and reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance improvement in the well
engineering team
Coordinating well reconciliation efforts and ensuring issuance of final cost reports and closure of
projects
