3. INTRODUCTION
What is textile Design ???
A process of creating design for woven ,knitted or printed fiber
It involved production of those designs, which are used
sometimes repetitively, in clothing and interior decorating items.

9. CAD CAM IN TEXTILE MACHINERY
Automatic spreading machine
TUKA spreading machine having automatic sharpening knife and raw edges of fabric and
having photo Electric Guides which is used to maintain uniform tension in the fabric
Advantages of spreading machine
Superimpose layers of fabric
Smooth ,tension free surface
Accurate ,efficient cutting

10. CAD CAM IN TEXTILE MACHINERY
Difference between Automatic Spreading machine
And manual
MANUAL
Speed depends on operator
Used by: small firms;
Big firms for small orders
Low productivity
Slower spreading
AUTOMATIC
Can spread 100-150 yards per
minute
Preferred by all firms which
can afford it
High productivity
Faster spreading

11. CUTTING ROOM PROCESS
Cut ratio received
(Size ratio)
Pattern received
(CAD /Pattern Making
Fabric received
(from fabric store)
Fabric relaxation
(IF needed)
Spreading(Fabric Layering)
Marker making
Cutting the lay

12. ADVANTAGES
Reduce lead time and increase productivity
Two unit of garment industry that is C and M. C unit produces 15,856 pieces per day by using CAD
CAM while M unit produces manually 4,013 pieces per day .
So, the observation results show that cad cam system nearly 10 time faster than manual system.
Reduction of wastage
Mathematical algorithms built in CAD system
The observation results show10 % fabric saving by using CAD CAM
Raw edges of fabric do not fray out
