TITLE: Maternal Stress as Worrisome as Other Pregnancy Risks? As established in recent studies, maternal stress has a risk on a fetus’s neurological development. Maternal mental health has an essential part, not only for mother’s but the fetus. Risks such as preterm labor, autism, schizophrenia, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (Eiseigaku, 2016). Maternal stress effects the amygdalae of a fetus; their fight-or-flight reactions, memory, behavior, social skills, sensory processing, and emotional learning and regulation. (Zelinsky, 2014). Smoking, drugs, drinking, pre-existing diseases, have all been linked has big risks when pregnant. In 2004, non-human research found that prenatal maternal distress negatively influences long-term learning, motor development, and behavior in their offspring. (DiPietro, 2004). In other studies, maternal stress was linked to postnatal developmental disorders and psychiatric issues that have long term effects,. “Diverse health outcomes were considered in animal studies, some being useful models for depression, schizophrenia or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in human populations.” (Beydoun, 2008) So how serious of a risk is stress during pregnancy? In a study, we can investigate how maternal stress may compare to issues such as smoking, drugs, drinking, pre-existing diseases. Looking specific women who report stressors as a factor in their pregnancy and the impact on the babies compared to the correlation between other pregnancy risks. The study will look at 20 women who report stress as factor and 20 women from the other risks. The main goal of this study is to inform the public how serious of a risk maternal stress is on a fetus’s development. .

Postpartum Depression among African Women Living in Rural Area in Nigeria Allison Nnaka

Opening Statement/Introduction
This research will explore how self –reported depressed Nigerian adolescent and adult mothers’ experience postpartum depression. Postpartum depression is a serious mental health issue that affects women irrespective of age, race or ethnicity. Although there has been an influx of postpartum depression literature, few studies employ a sociological perspective, and even fewer focus Nigerians. The study will provides a theoretical framework of fragmented identify to explain socio-cultural factors contributing to postpartum depression among Nigerian adolescent and adult mothers. The research will demonstrate the distinct features compares to that of the adult women, such as the stigmatization of teen pregnancy and motherhood,, body image issues, changing identity and intergenerational conflict problems faced by many adolescent mother. Moreover, most Nigerians fail to seek mental health treatment, and approximately 75% of postpartum depression cases are undetected, and untreated.
Background of the study
Postpartum depression is a mood disorder that affects about 10-15 percent of adult mothers every year with depressive symptoms lasting more than sx months among 25-50 present of the affected individuals. Approximately 48 percent of adolescent mothers experience depressive symptoms. Postpartum depression often occurs between a few months to a year; studies report postpartum depression four years following birth. Postpartum mood disorders are classified into three categories according to the severity. The first , postpartum blues, which is the least form of typically lasting a few days to a couple of weeks after giving birth and affects approximately 50-85 percent of all new mothers and according to some studies is a precursor to postpartum depression (Watanabe et at., 2008). The second postpartum mood disorder, postpartum depression, is ore severe, causing a great deal of problems for the mother. If left untreated postpartum depression often results in bouts of crying, guilt, feelings of inadequacy and detachment from the baby. A third type of postpartum mood disorder, postpartum psychosis, affects less tan 2 women per 1.000 births, causes delusions, rapid mood swings, confusion and hallucinations and is most likely to occur during the first three months following delivery.
Problem statement
Depression during pregnancy poses a risk to the fetus both directly and indirectly in terms of maternal nutrition, drugs, alcohol, smoking, and noncompliance with prenatal care plans. The chances for obstetrical complications such as intrauterine growth retardation, premature labor and placental abruption are increased, possibly due to increased catech.

Evaluating the impact of an autogenic
training relaxation intervention on levels
of anxiety amongst adolescents in school

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the impact of a group-based autogenic training (AT) relaxation
intervention on levels of anxiety in adolescents in mainstream school settings.
Method: A mixed-methods design was used to measure differences in levels of anxiety and explore a range
of perceived changes between groups over time. Sixty-six young people aged between 14 and 15 years old
from four mainstream schools in the UK were randomly assigned within each school to an intervention
or wait-list control group. Quantitative data were analysed using a mixed between-within subjects ANOVA.
Qualitative information from 12 volunteer participants was analysed using thematic analysis.
Findings: Results showed a main effect of time for both the intervention group and the wait-list group
however, no significant main interaction was found. Qualitative results showed perceived improvements
in social relationships and connectivity; reflectiveness; self-awareness; physiological symptoms; and a sense
of control.
Limitations: Measures were reliant on self-reported data. Schools were recruited through self-referral and
expression of interest, excluding participants who may not have the opportunity to take part. There were
no opportunities to collect follow-up data.
Conclusions: Results suggest that a structured AT relaxation intervention delivered in a familiar
school environment may significantly reduce levels of anxiety amongst adolescents. However, significant
improvements for the wait-list group also raises questions around the potential of other supportive
variables, such as acknowledgement and validation of feelings, the promise and availability of
forthcoming support and the potential impact of raised awareness and interest in pupil wellbeing
amongst school staff.

This study examined the associations between parental anxiety/depression and adolescent anxiety/depression, and whether adolescent self-esteem and physical activity moderate or mediate these associations. The study used data from over 5,700 Norwegian adolescents and their parents, collected over 10 years. Structural equation modeling found that parental anxiety/depression predicted adolescent anxiety/depression, and these associations were mediated by current parental symptoms and adolescent self-esteem. Caregivers of children’s with neuro-developmental disorders face challenges starting from resistance and denial, and such challenges may be likely to impact their Well-being. The present study explores the relations between spiritual well-being and parenting stress when parents faced with a crisis like caring for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. A convenient sample of 38 parents who reared 3 to 12-year-old children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental issues was part of the study. Parental Stress Index -Short Form (PSI/SF; Abidin, 1995) and the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS; Ellison & Paloutzian, 2009) were used to obtain a measure of the variables chosen. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to find out the significance of relations between spiritual well-being and parenting stress. Also, thesignificance of themean difference between the gender groups in relation tospiritual well-being and parenting stress was analysed using Independent Sample‘t’ test. Findings reveal a significant negative correlation between spiritual wellbeing and parenting stress, and it also shows that there is no gender difference in relation to parenting stress and spiritual well-being among parents. The findings indicate that spiritual wellbeing might act as a buffer of parental stress and can play the role of a protective factor against parenting stress for life challenges. It also shows that there might be no gender differences in parents’ experience of stress and spiritual wellbeing, but slight mean differences show a higher stress and spiritual wellbeing among mothers than fathers.

Problem Statement
Several adults struggle from a variety of mental health issues (suicidal thoughts and tendencies, alcoholism, depression, and drug abusers.) A lot of those issues may stem from what took place during an adult’s childhood that stem from a variety of reasons. Some adults seek help and some refuse to seek help. The adults who do seek help come to realize that their current issues stem from when they were a child and still developing as a human. Child abuse can come in many forms, physical, mental, and sexual. Adults who have been exposed or experienced this are likely to suffer from some form of mental health issue. It is important to figure out the root of mental health issues in adults so the root can be addressed. Children need to be in a healthy environment with nothing short of love and care. Exposing children to a harsh reality is only breeding them into an adult who suffers from mental health issues.
Literature Review
The study of psychology helps researchers to understand better what is going on with a person. Researchers studied what happened in a person's life that causes them to make the decisions they do and behave in a certain way. Adults have this stigmatism that they can do whatever they want because they are "grown." Many adults suffer from something that can cause to lead towards suicidal thoughts and tendencies, alcoholism, depression, and drug abusers. A lot of those issues may stem from what took place during an adult’s childhood. There could be some reasons adults tend to display certain mental health traits that have been studied in many different forms by researchers. What we will be reviewed is the abuse, physical or mental, that an adult endured as a child and how it affects them in their adulthood.
Blanco, C., Grant, B. F., Hasin, D. S., Lin, K. H., Olfson, M. Sugaya, L. (2012) recognized that child physical abuse had been associated with an increased risk of suicide attempts. The study conducted included Blacks, Hispanics and young adults between the ages of 18-24 in 2001-2002 and 2004-2005. In person, interviews were conducted in Wave 1. In Wave 2 used similar methods as Wave 1 but it excluded the individuals who were not eligible. Wave 2 also interviews went into depth about the questions asked for the participants first 17 years of life. There are many other variables that have been added to the data that relate to childhood physical abuse and mental health distress in adult years. Those other adversatives included the history of child sexual abuse and neglect, parental psychopathology, and perceived parental support, described as emotional neglect.
The advantages to this design would be the inclusion of other childhood adversities that could contribute to adult psychiatri.

Research in clinical suicidology continues to rapidly expand, much of it with implications
for day-to-day clinical practice. Clinicians routinely wrestle with how best to integrate
recent advances into practice and how to do so in efficient and effective fashion. This
article identifies five critical domains of recent research findings and offers examples
of simple questions that can easily be integ.

Postpartum Depression among African Women Living in Rural Area in Nigeria Allison Nnaka

Opening Statement/Introduction
This research will explore how self –reported depressed Nigerian adolescent and adult mothers’ experience postpartum depression. Postpartum depression is a serious mental health issue that affects women irrespective of age, race or ethnicity. Although there has been an influx of postpartum depression literature, few studies employ a sociological perspective, and even fewer focus Nigerians. The study will provides a theoretical framework of fragmented identify to explain socio-cultural factors contributing to postpartum depression among Nigerian adolescent and adult mothers. The research will demonstrate the distinct features compares to that of the adult women, such as the stigmatization of teen pregnancy and motherhood,, body image issues, changing identity and intergenerational conflict problems faced by many adolescent mother. Moreover, most Nigerians fail to seek mental health treatment, and approximately 75% of postpartum depression cases are undetected, and untreated.
Background of the study
Postpartum depression is a mood disorder that affects about 10-15 percent of adult mothers every year with depressive symptoms lasting more than sx months among 25-50 present of the affected individuals. Approximately 48 percent of adolescent mothers experience depressive symptoms. Postpartum depression often occurs between a few months to a year; studies report postpartum depression four years following birth. Postpartum mood disorders are classified into three categories according to the severity. The first , postpartum blues, which is the least form of typically lasting a few days to a couple of weeks after giving birth and affects approximately 50-85 percent of all new mothers and according to some studies is a precursor to postpartum depression (Watanabe et at., 2008). The second postpartum mood disorder, postpartum depression, is ore severe, causing a great deal of problems for the mother. If left untreated postpartum depression often results in bouts of crying, guilt, feelings of inadequacy and detachment from the baby. A third type of postpartum mood disorder, postpartum psychosis, affects less tan 2 women per 1.000 births, causes delusions, rapid mood swings, confusion and hallucinations and is most likely to occur during the first three months following delivery.
Problem statement
Depression during pregnancy poses a risk to the fetus both directly and indirectly in terms of maternal nutrition, drugs, alcohol, smoking, and noncompliance with prenatal care plans. The chances for obstetrical complications such as intrauterine growth retardation, premature labor and placental abruption are increased, possibly due to increased catech.

Evaluating the impact of an autogenic
training relaxation intervention on levels
of anxiety amongst adolescents in school

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the impact of a group-based autogenic training (AT) relaxation
intervention on levels of anxiety in adolescents in mainstream school settings.
Method: A mixed-methods design was used to measure differences in levels of anxiety and explore a range
of perceived changes between groups over time. Sixty-six young people aged between 14 and 15 years old
from four mainstream schools in the UK were randomly assigned within each school to an intervention
or wait-list control group. Quantitative data were analysed using a mixed between-within subjects ANOVA.
Qualitative information from 12 volunteer participants was analysed using thematic analysis.
Findings: Results showed a main effect of time for both the intervention group and the wait-list group
however, no significant main interaction was found. Qualitative results showed perceived improvements
in social relationships and connectivity; reflectiveness; self-awareness; physiological symptoms; and a sense
of control.
Limitations: Measures were reliant on self-reported data. Schools were recruited through self-referral and
expression of interest, excluding participants who may not have the opportunity to take part. There were
no opportunities to collect follow-up data.
Conclusions: Results suggest that a structured AT relaxation intervention delivered in a familiar
school environment may significantly reduce levels of anxiety amongst adolescents. However, significant
improvements for the wait-list group also raises questions around the potential of other supportive
variables, such as acknowledgement and validation of feelings, the promise and availability of
forthcoming support and the potential impact of raised awareness and interest in pupil wellbeing
amongst school staff.

This study examined the associations between parental anxiety/depression and adolescent anxiety/depression, and whether adolescent self-esteem and physical activity moderate or mediate these associations. The study used data from over 5,700 Norwegian adolescents and their parents, collected over 10 years. Structural equation modeling found that parental anxiety/depression predicted adolescent anxiety/depression, and these associations were mediated by current parental symptoms and adolescent self-esteem. Caregivers of children’s with neuro-developmental disorders face challenges starting from resistance and denial, and such challenges may be likely to impact their Well-being. The present study explores the relations between spiritual well-being and parenting stress when parents faced with a crisis like caring for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. A convenient sample of 38 parents who reared 3 to 12-year-old children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental issues was part of the study. Parental Stress Index -Short Form (PSI/SF; Abidin, 1995) and the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS; Ellison & Paloutzian, 2009) were used to obtain a measure of the variables chosen. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to find out the significance of relations between spiritual well-being and parenting stress. Also, thesignificance of themean difference between the gender groups in relation tospiritual well-being and parenting stress was analysed using Independent Sample‘t’ test. Findings reveal a significant negative correlation between spiritual wellbeing and parenting stress, and it also shows that there is no gender difference in relation to parenting stress and spiritual well-being among parents. The findings indicate that spiritual wellbeing might act as a buffer of parental stress and can play the role of a protective factor against parenting stress for life challenges. It also shows that there might be no gender differences in parents’ experience of stress and spiritual wellbeing, but slight mean differences show a higher stress and spiritual wellbeing among mothers than fathers.

Problem Statement
Several adults struggle from a variety of mental health issues (suicidal thoughts and tendencies, alcoholism, depression, and drug abusers.) A lot of those issues may stem from what took place during an adult’s childhood that stem from a variety of reasons. Some adults seek help and some refuse to seek help. The adults who do seek help come to realize that their current issues stem from when they were a child and still developing as a human. Child abuse can come in many forms, physical, mental, and sexual. Adults who have been exposed or experienced this are likely to suffer from some form of mental health issue. It is important to figure out the root of mental health issues in adults so the root can be addressed. Children need to be in a healthy environment with nothing short of love and care. Exposing children to a harsh reality is only breeding them into an adult who suffers from mental health issues.
Literature Review
The study of psychology helps researchers to understand better what is going on with a person. Researchers studied what happened in a person's life that causes them to make the decisions they do and behave in a certain way. Adults have this stigmatism that they can do whatever they want because they are "grown." Many adults suffer from something that can cause to lead towards suicidal thoughts and tendencies, alcoholism, depression, and drug abusers. A lot of those issues may stem from what took place during an adult’s childhood. There could be some reasons adults tend to display certain mental health traits that have been studied in many different forms by researchers. What we will be reviewed is the abuse, physical or mental, that an adult endured as a child and how it affects them in their adulthood.
Blanco, C., Grant, B. F., Hasin, D. S., Lin, K. H., Olfson, M. Sugaya, L. (2012) recognized that child physical abuse had been associated with an increased risk of suicide attempts. The study conducted included Blacks, Hispanics and young adults between the ages of 18-24 in 2001-2002 and 2004-2005. In person, interviews were conducted in Wave 1. In Wave 2 used similar methods as Wave 1 but it excluded the individuals who were not eligible. Wave 2 also interviews went into depth about the questions asked for the participants first 17 years of life. There are many other variables that have been added to the data that relate to childhood physical abuse and mental health distress in adult years. Those other adversatives included the history of child sexual abuse and neglect, parental psychopathology, and perceived parental support, described as emotional neglect.
The advantages to this design would be the inclusion of other childhood adversities that could contribute to adult psychiatri.

These contain a large number of precisely dated “artifacts” in the form of headstones and provide an opportunity for studies of the ways in which different aspects of British colonial and Euro- American culture have changed over time. Democracy, at its core, is centered on the idea that individuals can, in fact,
rule themselves. This concept is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution as we
know it today. However, early on the American Constitution was not a sound,
democratic document. In particular, the idea of popular sovereignty; that is,
the will of the people, was not extended to everyone. For example, as you
read this week, the framers, for a time, chose to retain slavery in the new
Republic. In addition to slavery, in what other areas was the Constitution of
1788 less than democratic? In what ways has the Constitution, since then,

regard.
• He or She would determine the need for change and ensure reception of
the change by employing effective communication strategies
(McCracken et al., 2017).
• Apart from a change in technology, other elements that may undergo
transformation include processes, policies, personnel, amongst others.
It is important that these changes are taken in stride so that they do not
forestall operations.

Pathological Conditions in Older Adults
As one goes through the natural aging process, the body's capacity to defend itself against infections diminishes. The immune system's ability to offer protection is reduced, and the individual becomes susceptible to conditions that affect them more than other age groups (Haynes, 2020). This population also experiences other symptoms impairing other aspects of their lives as time passes. For instance, their skin and bones lose their integrity and become more prone to abrasions and breakage. This assignment module will examine the pathological conditions that affect the sexual response in older adults and how and why nutritional and psychological factors, drugs, and other alternative and complementary medications affect the immune system of the populations.
Pathological Conditions that Affect Sexual Response in Older Adults
Sexuality is an essential aspect of life, irrespective of the age group one is in—the older population and the younger generation alike need to explore sexuality to maintain health and well-being. Exploring sexuality is also a mixture of biological, psychological, social, and religious factors, all of which have plenty to do with aging. Among the pathological conditions that affect sexual response in the elderly include
Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause
These are the changes experienced in the genitourinary pathway as one age. The individual can feel a burning sensation, dryness, or irritation. This can lead to painful sexual encounters, which can, in turn, reduce their desire to engage and their response.
Dementia
This is a degenerative disorder of the mental faculties, predominantly among the elderly (National Institute on Aging, n.d.). Their judgment diminishes, making them disinterested or utterly unaware of their sexual experiences. Some forms of the condition have been shown to increase sex or closeness, but the individual may fail to recognize what is appropriate and what is not.
Diabetes
As a chronic condition experienced mainly by this population, it can lead to yeast generation, leading to itchiness around the sex organs, making sex unpalatable. The situation can, however, be addressed with medication.
Incontinence
This is a condition where one experiences bladder leakage caused by poor control (National Institute on Aging, n.d.). It is most prevalent among the population an.

MAPPING AND ANALYZING VALUE STREAMS
What It Means
The mapping and analysis of value streams is an undertaking focused on gaining insight into the current
state of workflow. It includes creating diagrams that show the various steps a product or service
undergoes from request to delivery. The format of the maps should not be overly complex, and they do
not require any specialized software to create. Their purpose is to help management and workers “see”
the flow of work tasks that are often difficult to visualize, and to analyze that flow from a customer-centric
perspective that is explicitly focused on adding value.
Why It Matters
• It aligns stakeholders around a common understanding of the starting point before any
operational change initiatives are undertaken.
• It focuses on value as the critical metric of operational excellence and competitive advantage,
and it identifies steps where no value is added and/or waste occurs.
• It requires the team to apply quantifiable performance metrics to the current state so that
improvement efforts can be measured and validated.

Datril: Pioneering the Acetaminophen Market
Marvin Koslow, vice president for marketing services at Bristol-Myers, had just finished a
strategic planning meeting with his staff. The meeting was supposed to delineate a strategy for
Bristol-Myers’ newest offering: a non-prescription acetaminophen1 drug branded as Datril, which
was to be launched later in the spring of 1975. Despite many hours of deliberation, a clear solu-
tion failed to emerge. The main unresolved issue was how to position Bristol-Myers’ new drug to
the general public and, in particular, how to price and promote Datril.
Bristol-Myers was one of the nation’s leading marketers of pharmaceutical and consumer prod-
ucts, with a portfolio of well-known brands such as Bufferin, Excedrin, Windex, Drano, Vitalis, Be-
hold, and Clairol. Bristol-Myers was comprised of three major product groups: the Consumer Prod-
ucts Group, which accounted for 25.8% of the company’s total sales in 1974; the Clairol Group; and
the Pharmaceutical, Health Care, and International Group, which accounted for 51.8% of the compa-
ny’s total sales in 1974. In 1974, Bristol-Myers reported net earnings exceeding $120 million on $1.6
billion in net sales. The cost of goods sold accounted for more than $600 million of the expenditures:
marketing, sales, and administration expenses were in excess of $420 million, advertising and pro-
motion expenses were nearly $300 million, and research and development expenses were close to
$50 million.
The $680 million analgesic market was divided into two types of pain-relievers: aspirin and ace-
taminophen. Aspirin-based products, such as the market leader Bayer Aspirin, distributed by Sterling
Drug Company, and Bufferin and Excedrin, both distributed by Bristol-Myers, comprised 90% of the
analgesic market. Most of the aspirin-based products were proprietary drugs and were typically mar-
keted with heavy consumer advertising and extensive point-of-purchase displays. Bristol-Myers spent
more than $30 million advertising Bufferin and Excedrin in 1974 (see Exhibits 1, 2 for examples of
print advertisements). In contrast, acetaminophen-based analgesics, initially available only by pre-
scription, were advertised primarily to medical professionals.

- 1. TITLE: Maternal Stress as Worrisome as Other Pregnancy Risks? As established in recent studies, maternal stress has a risk on a fetus’s neurological development. Maternal mental health has an essential part, not only for mother’s but the fetus. Risks such as preterm labor, autism, schizophrenia, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (Eiseigaku, 2016). Maternal stress effects the amygdalae of a fetus; their fight-or-flight reactions, memory, behavior, social skills, sensory processing, and emotional learning and regulation. (Zelinsky, 2014). Smoking, drugs, drinking, pre-existing diseases, have all been linked has big risks when pregnant. In 2004, non-human research found that prenatal maternal distress negatively influences long-term learning, motor development, and behavior in their offspring. (DiPietro, 2004). In other studies, maternal stress was linked to postnatal developmental disorders and psychiatric issues that have long term effects,. “Diverse health outcomes were considered in animal studies, some being useful models for depression, schizophrenia or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in human populations.” (Beydoun, 2008) So how serious of a risk is stress during pregnancy? In a study, we can investigate how maternal stress may compare to issues such as smoking, drugs, drinking, pre-existing diseases. Looking specific women who report stressors as a factor in their pregnancy and the impact on the babies compared to the correlation between other pregnancy risks. The study will look at 20 women who report stress as factor and 20 women from the other risks. The main goal of this study is to inform the public how serious of a risk maternal stress is on a fetus’s development.
