2. INTRODUCTION
The university management system is used as an digital alternative to manual system, this
software is supported to eliminate and in some cases reduce the hardships faced by this
existing system. The application is reduced as much as possible to avoid errors while entering
the data. It also provides error message while entering invalid data. No formal knowledge is
needed for the user to use this system. Thus by this all it proves it is user-friendly. University
Management System, as described above, can lead to error free, secure, reliable and fast
management system. It can assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to
concentrate on the record keeping. Thus it will help organization in better utilization of
resources. Every organization/university, whether big or small, has challenges to overcome
and managing the information of students, faculties, Registrations, courses at the management
level. This is designed to assist in strategic planning and will help you ensure that your
organization is equipped with the right level of information and details for your future goals.
3. PROBLEM STATEMENT
In case of manual system they need a lot of time, manpower etc. Here almost all work is
computerized. So the accuracy is maintained. University Management System mainly deals
with Employee Profile, Payroll Management and Fee collection which can be managed by the
Admin.
“ The manual system of record keeping is quite slow and hefty,
So we need a more smart and convenient system to work with.”

4. REQUIREMENT
Softwares:
❏ Operating System : Windows 8 or later
❏ Database Server: PHP MyAdmin SQL server – 2010
❏ Tools: NetBeans 8.2
❏ User Interface: JAVA APPLICATION
❏ Code Behind: JAVA, SQL
6. DESCRIPTION OF JAVA
Java is a high-level programming language developed by Sun Microsystems. It was
originally designed for developing programs for set-top boxes and handheld devices,
but later became a popular choice for creating web applications. The Java syntax is
similar to C++, but is strictly an object-oriented programming language.
7. DESCRIPTION OF SQL
SQL stands for Structured Query Language. SQL lets us access and manipulate databases.
SQL is an ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standard. SQL can execute queries
against a database , retrieve data from a database, insert records in a database, update
records in a database, delete records from a database , create new databases, create new
tables in database, create stored procedures in a database, create views in a database, set
permissions on tables, procedures and views.
12. EXPECTED RESULT
The user would be able to easily operate and execute this system. It would decrease the
manual effort and increase the security and hasten the process of enrolment, search,
addition, deletion and storage of information.
❏ User will be able to add new student and new faculty, register them and store their
details.
❏ It would also keep track record of their attendance.
❏ It would keep record of examination details and marks obtained by students.
❏ It would keep record of fee structure and fee form of students.
15. CONCLUSION
It has been a great pleasure for us to work on this exciting and challenging project. This
project proved good for us as it provided practical knowledge and not only of programming
in JAVA. NetBeans based application and no some extent Windows Application and SQL
server, but also about all handling procedure related with “UNIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM”. It also provides knowledge about the latest technology used in developing Java
application that will be great demand in future. This will provide better opportunities and
guidance in future in developing projects independently
