Personally,Iampleasedwithmyfinal outcome of mypreliminarytask.It included the 180 degree
rule,matchon actionand shot/reverse shot.Itfollowedthe plotof someone openingadoor,
crossinga room and sittingina chairopposite anothercharacterwhichtheythenexchange acouple
of linesof dialogue.Iplanneditconsideringeachshotandthe dialogue ineachshot,Idone thisby
creatinga storyboard and shotby shotscript.This helpedme getmyfilmingdone quicklyandeasily
makingsure I getthe 180 degree rule,matchonaction andshot/reverse shotincludedinmyvideo. I
editeditall togetheranditflowedwell withthe helpfromsome music.
However,Ifeel Ilefteverythingtolastminute.Irushedthe filmingsoIhad time toedit,therefore I
didn’tgetmuchfootage whichmade myfinal videoveryshort.Thiswasn’tmuchof a problemasthe
footage wasgood and easyto edittogether.ButI thinkthatit wouldbe bettertohave more footage
to increase the lengthof myvideoandinclude avariedamountof shottypes. Also,insome of my
footage Ihad talkinginthe backgroundwhere itshouldn’tbe.Idealtwiththiswell asIcut out the
backgroundnoise where Ididn’tneeditandputmusicovermy videotocreate tensionandseta
scene.Iam satisfiedwiththe audionowI’ve editedittogether.
If I wasto do thisagain I wouldsetmyself more time tomake thismuchlessof a stressful
experience.Iwouldalsomake sure there wasn’tanybackgroundnoise whenfilmingforthe final
videotomake sounda bit more controlledandprofessional. Thiswouldalsomake itabiteasierto
edittogether.
My classwatchedmypreliminarytaskandgave me feedback.Itwentwell asitincludedmatchon
action,shotreverse shotanddidn’tbreakthe 180 degree rule.However,theymentionedthe
backgroundnoise andshortnessof the videomade itseemunprofessional.Theyalsosaidmatchon
actionwas included, butnotmuch.Therefore,Iwill increase the lengthof myvideobygettingmore
footage whichincludesmatchonaction.
