Cotton production is 15 million bales of 470 pounds
(210 kg) each in the form of phutti (seed cotton)
during 2016–17, which was an 11% rise compared to the

Production-wise, as of 2016–17, Pakistan occupied the
fourth position among the cotton growers of the world,
the first three being China, India and the United

Pakistan occupies an important position in cane
producing countries of the world.
It ranks at the 5TH position in cane acreage and
production and Sugarcane is grown on an area of more
or less one million hectares in Pakistan.
The Punjab shares 62 %, Sindh 26 % and N.W.F.P.
shares 16 % of the total area.
